Outside on the lush lawn, a private pool, barbecue and alfresco dining area make for ideal holiday afternoons spent socialising with family and friends.  Inside, dove-grey sofas and cream walls create a soothing ambience. You could spend hours lounging on a deck chair here, surrounded by the tranquillity of olive groves and vineyards – though, with Provence’s verdant landscapes at your doorstep, we’d understand if you didn’t spend much time at home. You'll be smitten as soon as you see this home's garden. Blossoming with French flora, boasting a private pool and showcasing views of the rolling hills, it's a lovely spot to while away dappled afternoons. Inside is a bit more modern – albeit a little less exciting – but families will have a decent amount of space to spread out and relax. There's a trundle bed in the third bedroom, which we think is best suited to little ones, while the separate study in the mezzanine is ideal for business travellers. On your doorstep is Saint-Saturnin-Lès-Apt, a typical Provençal village with buckets of character. Villars and Apt are further afield.

Ideally located in the heart of authentic Luberon, this Provincial country home is a dream come true for those seeking a true taste of rural France at its best. With easy country walks available from your front door and short driving distance to the nearby market towns, and an abundance of old French charm, a break here is like stepping into a carefully curated Pinterest board on the beauty of Provence. 

Smell the lavender and feel the sun on your skin as you wander around the quintessentially Mediterranean gardens with a view overlooking the valley of the Luberon park and the Mourre Nègre. Down the cobbled stone steps, you'll find a hidden terrace that features a heated infinity swimming pool, lounge terrace and breathtaking vistas of the surrounding landscape. 

Inside, the traditional country style 17th-century maison features seven large bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom making it an ideal spot for large families or groups of friends. The open living areas present plenty of space to enjoy as a group – as you'll find two kitchens, a piano, a ping pong table, petanque and board games. 

For those travelling with children, the house also has a dormitory-style bedroom which allows up to eight children to spend unforgettable moments together in one large suite with its own bathroom and double shower.

Although the home is in the middle of the countryside and completely tranquil, all supermarkets and shops are located within just fifteen minutes from the town of Apt, where you'll find several spots to pick up the shopping (including Intermarché, Leclerc, Auchan and LIDL) as well as local stores offering regional fare at the independent butcher's, fruit and vegetables store and bakery.

This beautiful village house is the perfect place to enjoy a holiday in the Luberon region of Provence. The property is located on a hillside on the edge of Gordes, one of France's classified 'Plus Beaux Villages'. The Provençal valley views from the terraced grounds are incredible.

The house has been decorated with refined style and there's an authentic ambience across its elegant lounge, dining room and perfectly equipped kitchen with doors sliding open to the al-fresco dining terrace. Modern additions include air-conditioning throughout, a Sonos music system and Smart TVs in its mezzanine lounge and two of the three bedrooms.

Sleeping up to six guests, the bedrooms are gorgeous, one with a king-size double bed, wood-beamed ceiling and romantic rolltop bath, another with a queen-size double, sofa and en suite shower room and the third en suite with twin beds and lovely views through its little windows. 

Outside, the vistas of Provence will take your breath away whether you are enjoying a glass of Luberon AOC wine on the upper terrace or peacefully reading on the outdoor sofa beneath the poolside pergola. The swimming pool is superb for warm summer days when you don't wish to venture too far. We love the rustic charm of the terraced grounds with old stone steps, pretty pathways and swathes of summer colour.

Hikers can hit the trails of Les Gorges de Véroncle, a short walk away. The walled garden is home to a summer kitchen for lazy lunches outside and the swimming pool awaits after a day’s exertion. Sleek and monochrome, the open living area and kitchen belies the traditional exterior. The ground-floor bedroom opens up to the poolside terrace and both upstairs rooms have sweeping countryside views.

There’s also a pétanque field here, making this a classic French country escape. Inside, expect a melange of period features and modern elegance – although not the largest home in our collection, you’d be hard-pressed to find one with more charm.

Behind the ancient stone walls, you'll find a tasteful mixture of period features, like the fireplace, window shutters and ceiling beams, and more modern additions — case in point, the elegant bathtubs and contemporary kitchen. One of our favourite spaces is the cellar that has been converted into an apéro bar complete with a foosball table.

When the weather's warm and bright — not too rare an occurrence in this part of the world — there are plenty of ways to make the most of this. In the garden, you'll find a swimming pool and plenty of loungers that look out over the French countryside, but there are equally wonderful views from the two stone terraces.

The surrounding region of Luberon is both beautiful and peaceful, something that's easy to discover for yourselves with the amount of hiking and cycling routes that start from the grounds. The village of Saignon is a five-minute drive away too and offers a boulangerie, art gallery and a twelfth-century church.

This beautiful villa is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a holiday in Provence. It’s at the foot of Luberon in the countryside of Cucuron, perched on a hill. From its elevated position surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, you can admire far-reaching views. We love the heated swimming pool outside, and the bright and open style of the villa. Huge windows, plenty of seating, and a piano make the living room ideal for socialising. There are varied sleeping arrangements so the villa can easily accommodate large groups, with a quadruple family room that’s ideal for parents of little ones.

Surrounded by lush greenery, this Provençal farmhouse will delight sun worshippers and wine lovers alike. The outdoor pool is the real centrepiece, but the garden boasts plenty of other spots for kicking back with a glass of rosé, including a shaded patio with an outdoor kitchen for a spot of alfresco cooking. The interior isn’t quite as striking with some rooms feeling a little dated. But the space has, nonetheless, retained plenty of traditional charm with its exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings, making it a nice backdrop for cosy evenings in. And location-wise, you’re just a short drive from some of Provence’s most beautiful villages, so you won’t have to venture far to get a taste of local culture – and viticulture.

Part of a remote holiday resort, the home is surrounded by cobbled paths – follow one to find the communal pool that looks out over the dramatic mountain landscape, or go off-piste and hike a hidden trail through the forest. The medieval village of Gordes is less than three kilometres away – once you're done exploring the Game of Thrones-esque streets and artisanal shops, hike back to the patio for late afternoon drinks with the sound of rustling leaves as your soundtrack.

From the lavender fields to the quaint interiors, this villa immerses you in Provençal charm. There's nowhere better to spend languid days than the garden, where there are plenty of hidden spots to relax with a drink. The large poolside terrace, meanwhile, is made for entertaining – you can just about catch views of the valley through the trees. The rustic interiors may feel a little bit mismatched, but at least there's plenty of room to relax across the two sitting rooms – and the separate bedroom unit is ideal for guests seeking more privacy. While this villa can feel like a world of its own, it's just a ten-minute drive from the historic town of Apt.
