Experience the magic of the Cornish coast with a stay in this expansive beach house. You’ll be welcomed by sea views, locally sourced art, sculptures and designer furnishings. There’s plenty of space for socialising as well as cosy evenings by the wood burning fire or movie nights in the cinema room. All of the bedrooms come with sea views and three of them feature freestanding bathtubs – perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Outside, there’s a terrace, a barbecue and a garden path leading directly to Booby's Bay beach. From here, you can join the South West Coastal Path and it’s just a ten-minute drive into Padstow. There's also a golf course right next door. 


Clifftop Retreat

Spend idyllic days in the Cornish countryside when you stay at this recently converted barn, situated a twelve-minute drive from beautiful Padstow. Enjoy long walks on the South West Coast Path – the cliff tops at Park Head offer incredible views across to the sea stacks at Bedruthan Steps (a ten-minute ride away). Back at this wonderful barn – it's perfect for a family or a group of friends looking for a tranquil retreat. Inside, we were blown away by the rustic charm mixed with elegant modernism. We love the Delabole slate bathrooms, exposed stone walls and vaulted beams throughout this home. In fact, this place has been designed with socialising and entertaining in mind – it's a great space to spend quality time together. On chillier days, curl up in front of the cosy wood-burning stoves in the living room or den and settle in for an evening of board games with the family. There are four acres of grounds to explore here, including orchards and wildflower meadows. There's even an outdoor shower, so you can rinse off after visiting the beach – your lovely hosts have really thought of everything here.  Our favourite spot in the garden has to be the magical summerhouse – savour the spectacular views that stretch to the Atlantic Ocean or recline on the day bed and read a book. It's just one of the many fantastic features that make this home so very special.

Barn Mouse

This B&B suite in peaceful St. Kew is connected with the very best that North Cornwall has to offer. Here, you’re only a fifteen-minute drive from Polzeath Beach and twenty-five minutes from Tintagel Castle – the imposing keep that inspired the myth of King Arthur. Your 16th-century cottage also feels a little magical in its own way, from the gorgeous tree-shaded setting to the exposed timber beams inside the home. Just like in the days of yore, you’ll have homemade bread and preserves left out for your breakfast in the morning. After long country walks on sunny afternoons, the 15th-century St. Kew Inn next door serves up seasonal dishes, Cornish ales and weekly live folk music. And when it’s time to call it a night, fluffy dressing gowns and a dreamy king-size bed await.

Myth & Miracle

Take a seat on the front terrace of this charming cottage and take in the glimpses of the estuary this chic town is famous for. There’s a patio off the garden room too, ideal for reading your holiday book and this place is perfect as an all-year-round getaway as there’s an open fire for those colder months. Just a couple of things to note with this home – firstly, the stairs to the second floor are a bit on the narrow side. Secondly, there’s no parking and the road outside is steep, however, one reserved parking space is provided, a ten-minute walk away. You’ll definitely need to bring your walking shoes.

Sea Salt & Sunlight

Only a ten-minute drive from the cobbled streets of Polperro and the bustling harbour town of Looe, this studio apartment is a countryside hideaway. Part of a converted hotel, the home is set in the rolling fields of Cornwall. We love to run an evening bath in the outdoor tub and watch the sunset over the hills. The small plot is great for a solo stay or romantic retreat – with a comfy king-size bed and small kitchenette to cook up light meals and breakfasts. The hosts are particularly attentive and bursting with recommendations and helpful tips. Lace up your walking boots: there are paths to explore on the four acres of land the home is set on, or drive to the nearby South West Coast Path for tramps over coastal cliffs. On sunny days, it's a quick journey to Cornwall's most beautiful beaches. We love Lantic Bay, a sheltered cove that's only accessible by foot, for a sense of privacy. For dinner, it's best to head out and make the most of the abundance of seafood in this region.

Oak Loft

Inspired by the light at Barbara Hepworth’s house in St Ives, the owners have crafted the perfect artist’s studio – a place to retreat, rest and be inspired by the beauty of life.

Tucked behind a Georgian–listed house overlooking the historic harbour of Charlestown, this is a wonderful setting to experience the atmospheric charm of Cornwall. And with its elegant styling and traditional features, there’s a quiet joy to this home that makes you want to settle in and stay. 

You’ll love waking up and stepping into the private garden – this is a lovely spot to feel the refreshing sea breeze as you drink your morning coffee. Inside, the space is sensitively designed to feel intimate and cosy – at night you can hear the calming sound of waves in the distance. 

And when you feel inspired to explore, it’s just a short stroll down to the beach and across the quay to the village. Here you’ll find a lovely pub, restaurant, cafe, deli and antique shop, while other highlights like the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are less than a twenty–minute drive away.

Wonder of the Sea 

For an action-packed family holiday, this lakeside lodge is set within the luxurious self-catering Retallack Resort & Spa, just eight miles from Padstow and the stunning sandy beaches and crashing surf of the North Cornwall coast. It offers a sought-after combination of luxury and comfort, with a spacious interior that has plenty of space for your group to gather together, yet more than enough secluded areas and hidden corners for everyone to find a space to call their own. The owner's love of interior design is demonstrated by the blend of classic charm and contemporary flair, with flashy fabrics and one-off artwork helping to create a home from home that's pleasing to the eye, as well as the soul. There are four bedrooms with flexible configurations that can be customised depending on the group. Cosy up by the fire over the winter months before sliding open the doors to the deck to make the most of the sunshine. Spend long summer days reclining on the outdoor sofa before hopping into the hot tub as the sun sets. The resort boasts too many on-site facilities to mention. Older kids and adults can brush up on their surfing technique on the Flow Rider. At the same time, there are plenty of other watersports on offer out on the lake, including wakeboarding, paddleboarding, and an inflatable aqua park. After an exhausting day, you might not feel like cooking dinner. Handily, the restaurant offers a takeaway service that delivers restaurant-quality food right to your door. If you can bring yourself to leave, the surrounding area is blessed with more stunning beaches than you could hope to visit over the course of a single holiday here. Local standouts include Constantine, Harlyn Bay and Newquay – all approximately twenty minutes' drive away.

Salt Lodge

This cosy Cornish cottage is an exemplary example of boutique living. There are all sorts of quirky additions to the interior that lend a sense of personality, from the record player and acoustic guitar to the book collection with plenty of local guides. The welcome gift of Cornish wine and produce is also a lovely touch.

That being said, all the essentials are nailed, too. In the living room, the wood-burning stove will really come into its own during colder evenings, as will the pretty freestanding tub in the bathroom. The long turquoise kitchen is plenty big enough for whipping up hearty suppers after a long day of exploring Cornwall's great outdoors.

If you're into your rambling, Bodmin Moor starts just over five minutes' drive from your front door, with stone circles and tors to punctuate your walking. Both Fistral and Polzeath Beaches take around forty minutes to reach in the car. If, however, you want to see the local area on two wheels, the home comes with a pair of bicycles that guests are more than welcome to borrow and the Camel Trail lies two minutes' pedal from the front door.


The Poachers Pocket

Step into this achingly romantic wooden hut in St Kew, Cornwall, for a whirlwind getaway unlike any other. Decorated in an eclectic, bohemian style, you’ll want to fire up the stove and sink right into a pile of embroidered cushions with a mug of hot chocolate. You’ll also have your own private deck on which to drink tea with scones or enjoy hot Cornish pasties from the local bakery. The mezzanine bedroom area was made for sleeping to the sound of rain falling on the roof – just hope that it clears up quickly in the morning – or listening out for the call of a barn owl passing by. And the north Cornwall coast, with some of the country’s most beautiful beaches, is just a ten-minute drive away. Spend a day at charming Port Isaac, or hop on your bike to take on the Camel Trail – and don't forget to stop in at the country pub across the lane on your way home. 

A New Belonging

If you’re looking for a bohemian escape in Cornwall, then look no further. This rustic hideaway is perfect for a solo traveller or a couple looking to get in touch with the raw beauty of the Cornish countryside and who care most about the luxuries of the soul – great music, fantastic light, the roar of the waves. This snazzy barn conversion has bucketloads of character and soulful perks, including a piano, a record player with a vast collection of vinyl, and its own mini sauna. Throw in the super-king sized bed, a brand new bathroom (with bathtub) and kitchen, its location (snuggled away in ancient woodland), the fact that it’s just a five-minute drive to the nearest pub and beach at Crackington Haven, and you’ve got a rural retreat you’ll want to keep quiet about, so you can keep it for yourself. 

Musician's Escape

Do bucket-and-spade breaks in luxury at this family-friendly, Edwardian townhouse in Wadebridge. The careful planning of the interior design to meet guests’ needs and the meticulous sourcing of furnishings and fittings took nearly a year to complete, with the subsequent renovations completing towards the end of 2022.

Upstairs, each bedroom is as beautifully styled as the next, though the main en-suite bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and balcony trumps them all.  With a suntrap garden for morning coffees and two sitting rooms to curl up in with the newspapers in winter months, what’s the big rush to leave the house? Although location-wise this home's also great – North Cornwall’s beaches are just a short drive away. Or keep things local with a mooch about Wadebridge or a dog walk along the River Camel Trail – just five minutes from your door.
