Set in a former hotel, this home is an excellent choice for exploring some of Cornwall's prettiest corners while avoiding the crowds. It’s a minutes’ drive from the bustling port of Looe, where we love to mosey around the model village, gorge on the catch of the day at a restaurant or perch on the sheltered beach. Polperro is also close by, a ten minutes’ drive away, with its cobbled streets and local pubs. Back at home, you’ll find a relaxing bright environment with beachy vibes. We love the different coloured wood in the kitchenette, the blue tiles in the bathroom and the wicker lamps. The loveseat has a clear nautical theme, perfect for afternoon lounging, while the bed is luxurious and welcoming at the end of the day. Enjoy breakfast at the small wooden table, or outside in finer weather, and map out your plans for the day. For the more adventurous, there are several canoe, kayak and paddleboarding shops in Looe, with the choice to hire or go on a guided tour. Otherwise, hit the gorgeous coastal walking paths, following the cliffs and coastline and even passing a few sheltered little beaches.

Oak Meadow Rest

Is there anything more soothing for the soul than strolling along the seafront, feeling the sea breeze in your hair? We’re passionate about coastal escapes, so as far as we’re concerned, a trip to Cornwall’s beautiful Fowey is always a good idea. And that good idea is made great by staying at this truly lovely home. 

The house is spread over three floors, with a ground-floor apartment in addition to a roomy second- and third-floor home – this is the perfect base for two separate families travelling together. You can gather together as much as you like, but when you need your own space it’s all there for you. We think the ground floor would be perfect for grandparents, while parents and little ones can spread out upstairs. 

You can look forward to wonderful views here. You’ll be able to admire boats sailing by from the kitchen window, and enjoy views of Fowey as you relax in the bath. Sit out on the terrace and take in the vista over to Polruan, ideally while sipping a chilled glass of wine. 

Readymoney Cove is just ten minutes away on foot, so make sure you bring your bucket and spade. Paddle in the water, skim stones or tuck into piping hot fish and chips on the sand. The harbour is just three minutes away, with its bevy of pretty boats. However you spend your time in Fowey, you’ll be delighted to have such a cosy and convenient space to call home.

This 17th Century fisherman's cottage reveals unrivalled sea-facing views as far as the eye can see. Grandfather chairs, cosy blankets, exposed stone and a wood-burning stove provide a warming place to snuggle up in after a day of exploring the Cornish coastline. Pick up some fish and chips on the way home and tuck in at the dining table outside – you'll definitely want to be home for sunset. Enjoy a glass of bubbly while watching as the balmy sky paints a colourful picture over the horizon. Wander the narrow winding streets of Mousehole – lined with boutiques, galleries and restaurants. With the fishing port, only a seven-minute walk away as well as surf beaches galore around this part of Cornwall, you'll be based in a dream coastal spot for a quintessential English seaside experience. 

The Fisherman's Cottage

For an action-packed family holiday, this lakeside lodge is set within the luxurious self-catering Retallack Resort & Spa, just eight miles from Padstow and the stunning sandy beaches and crashing surf of the North Cornwall coast. It offers a sought-after combination of luxury and comfort, with a spacious interior that has plenty of space for your group to gather together, yet more than enough secluded areas and hidden corners for everyone to find a space to call their own. If you can bring yourself to leave, the surrounding area is blessed with more stunning beaches than you could hope to visit over the course of a single holiday here. Local standouts include Constantine, Harlyn Bay and Newquay – all approximately twenty minutes' drive away.

Salt Lodge

Nestled within the heart of St Issey, a hamlet just outside Padstow, you will find this gorgeous period home that we think is absolutely perfect for an unforgettable getaway with extended family. An 18th-century building carefully restored to its original plan, it expertly showcases the building’s past through the use of exposed Cornish slated walls, original beams, restored feature fireplaces, and other raw materials that combine in a perfect mix of old and new.  

Formerly a listed Manor House, Courthouse, and Mill, the building is filled with a sense of history as well as its own unique character and sense of place. Lounge in the luxurious living spaces or enjoy a special meal together with your loved ones in the grand dining room that's flooded with that inimitable Cornish coastal light. The fantastically well-equipped kitchen means there has never been a better time to dust off the old chef's apron and put your culinary skills to the test. Here you'll find not one but four ovens, a pizza oven, Braai, and much more – so something tasty to eat is never far away.

One of our favourite things about this home has to be the garden, and we think it is the perfect place to sit back with a glass of wine and really savour that holiday feeling. Fancy a little something extra? For an additional fee, you can have the hot tub at your disposal throughout your stay. Perfect for soaking any tired muscles or simply enjoying an evening of unadulterated relaxation.

Explore hidden coves and their crystal-clear waters, sample the freshest fruits of the sea, or head out into the country for a breath of fresh air away from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life.

This Must Be the Padstow Place

Experience the magic of the Cornish coast with a stay in this expansive beach house. You’ll be welcomed by sea views, locally sourced art, sculptures and designer furnishings. There’s plenty of space for socialising as well as cosy evenings by the wood burning fire or movie nights in the cinema room. All of the bedrooms come with sea views and three of them feature freestanding bathtubs – perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Outside, there’s a terrace, a barbecue and a garden path leading directly to Booby's Bay beach. From here, you can join the South West Coastal Path and it’s just a ten-minute drive into Padstow.
