The south-facing terrace area is a lovely little sun trap and makes for an idyllic reading or sunbathing spot for ever-craved lazy days soaking up some vitamin D. Situated in a private terrace, with no passing traffic, take in the turquoise ocean vistas from the beautiful, sunny terrace, surrounded by pink hydrangeas, with a glass of Cornish fizz. Or head inside, where you'll be greeted with large bay windows – admire the town, harbour and the sparkling sea from here. Our favourite spot has to be the plush velvet window seat in the bedroom. With two living areas and several outdoor spaces, this home is perfect for a family or group of friends looking to spread out. To top it all, there's parking for up to two cars, which is a rare bonus in St. Ives.

The vibrant town centre is a five-minute walk, where you'll find plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. It's the same walking distance to Porthminster Beach, one of St Ives's six beaches – the others are Porthgwidden, Harbour, Porthmeor, Lambeth Walk and Bamaluz – so you're spoilt for choice. For art lovers, the Barbara Hepworth Museum is a seven-minute saunter, while the Tate St Ives is eleven minutes on foot.

Porthkidney Beach is the closest stretch of the seaside — only a quarter of an hour's walk — but there are lots more options within easy driving distance. Tate St Ives only takes fifteen minutes to reach in the car as well.

The annexe offers a small gravel courtyard at the back of the home which is ideal for sun-soaked mornings enjoying a leisurely breakfast alfresco, or an afternoon tea with fresh Cornish cream, jam and scones. 

Wander Carbis Bay’s crescent of white sands and turquoise waters or go on a water adventure and grab a paddleboard or kayak from the beach-based surf school. For beautiful walks, we can highly recommend the coast path from here to St Ives, which showcases spectacular views over the bay, and the 1.9km walk has a gentle ascent meaning the whole family can enjoy the scenery and bracing sea air. Or, if that sounds like too much for you, the single-track railway of the St Erth line follows that same path along the coast offering passengers an incredible vantage point to see all of St Ives Bay and beyond.  

After a busy day, the home’s open-plan living space will provide you with a comfortable sofa to unwind from your beach days, while the dining area beckons you to share meals and discuss your plans for the following day over a delicious dinner.

From its stunning coastline beaches to art galleries and critically esteemed restaurants, St Ives is one of Cornwall's most famous and utterly beautiful villages – and this home offers a well-appointed tiered garden to take it all in from. Just a five-minute walk to the centre of town and a seven-minute stroll from Carbis Bay, the house is perfectly placed for exploring the delights of this sought-after seaside postcode. Back home, the outside space is the real star of the show with a comfortably furnished summerhouse filled with tasteful artwork and nautical adornments. We can think of nothing better than watching the sunset over Godrevy and beyond from here. In warmer months, take to the flower-bedded terrace for alfresco dining and ocean views or find a quiet enclosed patio for a relaxing read in the sun. Stepping inside, you'll find a well-presented interior with light wooden flooring, ornamental fireplaces and exposed brickwork. We also found there to be an industrial-chic styling around the home – from the cooper framed bed in the master bedroom to the low-hanging lampshades over the dining table. There is of course a freestanding bathtub for relaxing soaks after wandering the Cornish coast as well as an abundance of light and airy living space to sprawl out and unwind. There's a traditional country-house kitchen with all the basic appliances for cooking hearty meals, although we'd be tempted to wander into town for a spot of locally sourced and adored fish and chips.

Hidden behind the dunes of Upton Towans Nature Reserve, this luxury eco-home is just moments from the beach. Make your way barefoot down the sandy path flanked by rolling dunes and wild grass to Gwithian Beach's three miles of soft, golden sand. Surfing the Atlantic swells, searching the rock pools for shells, splashing in the Atlantic Ocean – whatever you get up to, there's no doubt that this is a pretty dreamy locale, especially if you prefer to start and end your days with strolls along the shore. In the afternoons, head to St Ives (fifteen minutes by car) for a fish and chips lunch, or pack a picnic and hike to the rugged cliffs near Godvrey Head for a seal-spotting session.

The local coastline provides excellent surf and beautiful hiking trails, adored by local lovers of the outdoors.

If you’d like to give your legs a stretch, embark on the moderate 6.8 mile circular walk from St Ives to Carn Naun.

You’ll enjoy nestling up in the living space as the night darkens, and catching some sun out in the furnished courtyard. Located on a quiet street just a few minutes from Porthmeor beach (observable from the front-facing windows) and St Ives’ town centre, this home is perfect for those seeking a respite from city life. 

Head down to the beach and dip your feet into the Celtic Sea, or take a walk out to the Island (don’t worry, it’s a peninsula). Grab an ice cream or some fish and chips and take a walk along one of Britain’s most beautiful beaches, with the gulls gliding jealously overhead and the waves lapping rhythmically against the sand.

The tiny hamlet of Crowlas is home to this rustic stone cottage, located less than a five-minute walk from the village centre. Stepping foot inside this former hay barn, the interiors might surprise you. While the furnishings and the kitchen are wonderfully modern, the wooden stairs and the wood burning stove are gorgeous, rustic features which make the space feel warm and homely. After a windswept day at the beach, coming home will feel like bliss when you can curl up by the fire with a cup of tea. And the flames continue outside. With a fire pit and a barbecue, the kids can roast marshmallows while someone else handles the burgers on the grill. This garden is a stunning spot where you can let the little ones run around – and you can lie back in the sun loungers to enjoy the serenity of the countryside. Don’t be fooled by the ultra-modern, white facade; this place still retains a nod to its heritage with exposed stones from the original fisherman's cottage. In summer, light pours through the large windows and the log burner and underfloor heating keeps you cosy in the colder months. A crisp, white background lets the seaside watercolours on the wall speak for themselves and the big kitchen is more than spacious enough for the buzz of family breakfast time. On sunny days, head out to the wooden deck looking out to sea (with an outdoor heater available), or tuck yourself away on the dining terrace for an alfresco seafood feast from the local fishmonger.

Even though this home is only five minutes' walk from the golden sands of Cardis Bay, there's a heated swimming pool so you can take a dip without having to leave the address. Running alongside, there are loungers for catching some rays as well as a small outhouse with room for storing surfboards and beach equipment, plus a shower for washing off sand and sea salt from your skin. When the sun begins its final descent, head over to the verandah — a recent extension to the 1930s house — where a large alfresco table, barbecue and outdoor heating will see you through long summer evenings. You might have noticed that we're full of lovely words and we've not even touched upon what's inside the home yet. Rest assured, it's just as impressive as what lies outside. The original large rooms and bay windows add a sense of airy brightness, but a recent renovation has brought a contemporary interior with an especially modern kitchen. As well as the nearby seaside, the South West Coast Path lies four minutes on foot from the front door and Tate St Ives is eleven minutes away in the car.

Recently renovated to the highest of standards in 2021, this architectural masterpiece is a picture of solid slatted wood, glass and white stone. The home is set within a sought-after postcode, only ten minutes (on foot) from the stunning Carbis Bay Beach – it's well worth a visit here – we couldn't believe we were still in the UK with its glorious stretch of sand and turquoise waters. Back inside, the living space is as light and airy as possible with high-vaulted ceilings, crittall windows and an abundance of skylights overhead. We adored the sleek three-oven island kitchen, benefitting from navy blue cabinets, chic chandeliers, dramatic spotlighting and a sociable breakfast bar to sit down and enjoy your morning avos on toast. You'll notice the crushed velvet dining chairs and sofa that only adds further to this home's impressive level of luxury and comfort. On top of all of that, there's the ease of having four bedrooms accompanied by four swanky en-suite bathrooms and a delightful garden  – complete with comfy outdoor seating for all eight guests, a paved veranda dining area and a cool-chill out spot to drink your alfresco wine. Inside and out, this spot presents Cornwall in spectacular fashion.

You could sneak in through the back at this apartment in a Regency manor, but that would take away from the grand entrance worthy of a Jane Austen heroine. Sashaying through the double doors and across the marble floor, past the stone fireplace, you come to your abode. It’s in the old ballroom of the manor, and the floor-to-ceiling bays windows and gilded mirrors haven’t changed since the days of swishing gowns and music from the pianoforte (indeed, there’s still a grand piano in here). 

Rather than a bandstand, there’s now a kitchen at the head of the ballroom, and if you prefer your evenings slightly more intimate, a book-lined snug with a plush velvet sofa awaits in the bedroom. We love the hand-carved antique bed, waiting to see you off to the land of nod.

There are acres of grounds to explore on the estate, but if you want to get out and see the Cornish coast, it’s just a ten-minute drive to the beaches of St Ives Bay. The gallery-filled old fishing town of St Ives itself is just twenty minutes by car.
