The home has a dreamy country kitchen with a breakfast island for cooking, socialising and eating together. After preparing a family feast with the produce you picked up from the local farm shop,  head to the formal dining room, where you can savour your culinary achievements in an elevated setting. There are plenty more communal areas for family and friends to gather too – including the cosy TV room and formal sitting room, complete with crackling fires – perfect for colder nights. 

Stepping outside, you'll find a gorgeous shared garden that includes a dining table as well as a barbecue area. When you’re not making the most of the garden, there’s plenty to see nearby – the scenic town of Bude is close by and has a host of boutique shops, tea rooms and excellent pubs. Spend a day on one of the local sand beaches or enjoy a swim in the rock-lined lido, Bude Sea Pool, on Summerleaze Beach.

There's a nearby farm shop for freshly laid eggs and ground coffee, and a street food van on-site if you don't fancy cooking. If you do crave civilisation, this place is only a short drive from some of Cornwall’s best-loved beaches and the popular seaside resort of Bude.

Set just outside the surfing hotspot of Bude, this wooden roundhouse offers the excitement of camping with all the creature comforts of home. Spend sun-kissed summer afternoons tucking into relaxed lunches on the picnic bench and treating yourself to dips in the hot tub, equipped with a metal privacy screen so you can soak in peace.

Inside, the unique roundhouse design comes to the fore, with a well-equipped kitchen gently curving around the wall, a rustic round dining table, and a double bed set beneath a shining porthole skylight. Elsewhere, the roundhouse is equipped with one further bedroom and a sleek bathroom with a vast walk-in shower.

The site is equipped with a converted horse trailer turned coffee shop so you can dose up on caffeine as the kids help with feeding the farm animals. Your hosts are blessed with over a decade's worth of local knowledge and are more than happy to share their favourite local haunts with guests, so whether you're after a local butcher to stock up for a barbecue, a bougie brunch spot, or a great local pub, they've got you covered.

The location and delightful suntrap garden make this a great choice for summer getaways – and your four-legged friends can come too.

While the interior is on the smaller side, it's plenty comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped for family meals. The patio and outdoor seating are ideal for quiet evenings, and the fenced garden is great for tiring out the kids.

Escape to the country and hunker down in this beautifully restored old English farmhouse tucked away in the Cornish countryside. Heading down the quiet lane, the Atlantic blue springs into view across the rolling fields as you pull into the driveway. The beaches, bars and bistros of Bude are only a ten-minute drive away, but this home is a real retreat.

Parts of the property date back to the sixteenth century, and although it’s been lovingly restored, the traditional charm still shines through in the wood burners, range oven and exposed beams. It’s calm and cosy, with plenty of space for everyone to spread out and find a quiet corner of their own. 

While the kids let off steam in the large shared gardens, enjoy breakfast to the sound of birdsong in the sun-trap courtyard. Curl up with a book on a window seat with sea views, or pile into the car for a family day out to Sandymouth Beach. When evening rolls around, it’s time to snuggle up in an armchair by the fire, hot chocolate in hand, and dream about doing it all over again tomorrow.

This holiday home just south of Bude is a great spot to spend some quality time with the whole family. It’s only a short walk to the beach, where you can take surf lessons or go for a hike with your four-legged friend along the Atlantic coast. The house has got three ensuite bedrooms and a large family bathroom, but it’s the garden with the sea view that we like best. There are a small local shop and pub nearby and the town of Bude is but a short drive away.

Sitting outside in the morning sun of the east-facing courtyard makes you appreciate the old rugged stone façade, especially compared to the sleek and cosy interior. You'll get a whole wing to yourself, complete with two dining spots outdoors and comfortable loungers in the garden. In the colder months, you'll be spending more time in the sitting room, surrounded by books and a large flat-screen TV with Technics cinema sound for an immersive experience. For a bit more peace and quiet, escape to the reading room which has even more books available, or relax in the pleasantly quiet bedroom. From here, the French doors open up to a cosy spot for two where you can admire the sunrise and plan your day. The nearest wild beach is well within walking distance, but the headline attraction is up the road in Bude. If you're up for some sightseeing, take the car down to Tintagel to see the ruins of King Arthur's mythical castle.

This fantastic Victorian villa in the English Riviera is the perfect home for family holidays. Located in Paignton, this home is only a short walk from many great activities including Paignton Beach – a nineteen-minute walk away – where you will find the pier, the Geopark, a fairy cove, pirates bay adventure golf, and even a multiplex cinema perfect for those typical rainy British days. What’s more, Splashdown water park is a short nine-minute walk away and Torbay Leisure Centre – with its pool, gym and squash courts – is reachable in twelve minutes on foot.

Your little ones will love letting off steam in the home’s large, enclosed garden too, with the kid's swing, trampoline, treehouse, football goal and pirate boat. Meanwhile, you can relax on the garden bench with a good book or enjoy an afternoon Devonshire cream tea alfresco at the outdoor dining area. 

When it’s time to come indoors, head from the decked veranda through the French doors into the living space. Curl up on the sofa to watch a family film and even make it cosier with the wood-burning stove, which can be lit for additional warmth or roasting marshmallows. Your little ones hopefully won’t object to bedtime with the twin rooms one of which is Star Wars-themed and the other which features a dollhouse mounted on the wall and a whimsical fairy wall hanging to decorate. We can’t promise they’ll want to stop playing and go to sleep though.

This cosy bungalow on Cornwall's northern coast is the perfect base for exploring as much or as little of this remarkable region as you please. Beautiful beaches, dramatic cliffs and stunning sunsets all await you in this charming county. Idyllic locations such as Padstow and St Ives can be reached in less than an hour, and the famed Eden Project is just a forty-five minute drive away.
 
On the other hand, Holywell Bay has one of the most beautiful beaches in the county. You’ll be pleased to know it's only a five-minute walk from your door, where alongside stunning scenery, you’ll find a gorgeous coastal path, and a handful of charming beachside cafes and eateries. Refuel on local produce at the Gull Rocks Bar & Coffee House at the beach’s entrance after an afternoon spent splashing about, and take in the stunning vistas afforded by its prime location. The Treguth Inn, hailing back to the thirteenth century also awaits just five minutes away, while several more traditional pubs and desirable restaurants can be found within a fifteen-minute drive. The choice is all yours. 

A short twenty-minute drive away is the Gannel Estuary, which separates neighbouring Crantock village from Newquay. Have a go at canoeing in the estuary, or try your hand at paddle-boarding over in Crantock. On quieter days, why not go for fish and chips followed by some ice cream in idyllic fishing villages such as Mevagissey, Mousehole or Gorran Haven, all within an hour's drive? Whatever you choose to do, you won't be short of fun.
  
Of course, such is the high-quality amenities, you don't even need to leave the house. An open living area is blessed with natural light and plenty of space, perfect for social evenings. Chill on the sofas, sit with a glass of beer on the kitchen bar or take to the circular table for dinner. On cooler nights, gather around the log burner, or venture out to the garden for a spot of stargazing by the outdoor heater.
 
On warm summer evenings, get comfy on the cushioned sofas as you watch the sunset, or take in views of Penhale, a protected area for wildlife and ecology. When the sun sets, turn on the outdoor lights, and for true indulgence, treat yourselves to a dip in the hot tub.

This is a barn conversion in which the standard of the renovation has been of such quality that it's nigh-on impossible to picture its functional past. Set in twenty-six acres of Devon countryside, the building has been given some hi-tech features, including a ground-source heating system and an intelligent lighting system, as well as a lot of large glass windows that make the space a lot brighter than could be expected of an old barn. Our favourite space has to be the mezzanine lounge, reached via a glass spiral staircase and with a skylight on one side that's perfect for stargazing. The large kitchen looks the picture of modernity, but there's an Aga in place for a touch of rusticness. Stepping outside, there's a large patio area complete with an alfresco dining table, barbecue and fire pit, so you can sit out here on summer evenings and bask in the spectacular view of Longcombe Valley. The medieval town of Totnes can be reached in seven minutes in the car and offers plenty of quaint shops and restaurants to explore. Paignton Beach is a seventeen-minute drive away, too.

Style-wise, this home is equal parts classy and edgy; velvet upholstery and faux-fur throws contrast with neon signs and curious light fixtures in the bedrooms. The pièce de résistance is the gravity-defying fireplace in the living area, nothing short of a showstopper. You'll want to explore every room in depth to make sure you haven't missed anything. This is a level of design you might not necessarily expect from a sleepy part of coastal Devon – but that's part of the home's beauty. It's the perfect retreat for those seeking total tranquility in exceptional surroundings.

Spread out over three floors and glowing from top-to-toe in crisp white, this family retreat is a joy to return home to. Vintage memorabilia posters and zesty pops of colour perk the space up a treat, while period features and antique pieces bring all the character and charm.

Over in the first of two living rooms, butter-soft sofas placed beside the fire are more than inviting. As is the Gatsby-esque 1920's mini bar in the grown-up feel sitting room next door – playfully known as the Cocktail Room by the owners. And the shaker-style kitchen makes cooking and entertaining a joy – especially with it's handy opening out to the sitting room so that you can keep an eye on the rest of your troops.

When it's time for some coastal adventures, take a stroll down the hill towards Dartmouth's historic maritime centre (five-minute walk – a little longer when you're coming back up!), stopping at its smart shops, galleries, and boutique bistros along the way. Or for a dose of traditional seaside nostalgia, grab your nets and buckets for crabbing on the embankment before fish and chips down at the harbour's quayside – the views of the bobbing boats are delightful. And when the beach finally calls, hop in the car and you'll be on the glorious sheltered bay of Blackpool Sands in five minutes flat.
