With stunning sea views and a series of grand bedrooms, this Grade II listed 17th-century home is perfect for large families or groups of friends who are looking for a relaxing coastal retreat. Children and parents alike will enjoy the walled garden and homely interior, tastefully furnished to create a down-to-earth yet premium ambience.

The village setting is quintessentially Cornish, with the beach just five minutes down the road and lovely local pubs and cafes within easy reach (your closest is right around the corner). For travels further afield, guests can explore English heritage sites and well-preserved National Trust houses and gardens – we'd recommend bringing a car to easily tick the off the list. The local coastline provides excellent surf and beautiful hiking trails, adored by local lovers of the outdoors. 

Ye Olde Church House

Tucked away in Mousehole's narrow, winding streets, this home's location is straight out of a fairytale – perched on a hill above the harbour, the living room and rooftop terrace look onto soft blue stretches of Cornish sea. The home is modern, polished, and bright, with a wide upper deck in full sun, making it ideal for summer living. Sling your sandy towels over the glass balustrade and relax with a glass of wine after a day on the beach. Spend an afternoon exploring the picturesque fishing harbour, nipping into cafes and shops as you weave your way around the village and its traditional granite cottages. Later, take a scenic walk west along the Coastal Path and admire views of the Tater Du Lighthouse. Further afield lie the larger towns of Newlyn, Penzance, and Marazion, each with their own pubs, restaurants, and secret coves.

The Mermaid

We’re not one for hyperbole, but the views from the terrace of this home really are spectacular. Not only do you have the ocean stretching out as far as the eye can see, but the beautiful bay of Praa Sands also curves down below, and the patchwork fields of south Cornwall lie in the distance. Admire the view from the perfectly placed hot tub, drink a morning coffee on the glass-fronted balcony, or cook a meal on the barbecue to enjoy overlooking the water. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room means that you can take in the scene even on cold days – when you may want to fire up the woodburner for a cosy evening in. Aside from walking, surfing and sunbathing on Praa Sands, you’ll also want to explore the nearby village and go hiking along the South West Coast Path, which is easy to reach from this home.

Cornish Breeze

Tucked away on the edge of Carbis Bay, this hidden gem presents the perfect spot to unwind and reconnect with nature. Upon arrival, wander along the pathway through the gardens until you reach the private gated area. From here you'll have your own secluded slice of nature to enjoy in peaceful serenity. 

Listen to the trickling stream with a cup of coffee in hand, or surround yourself with views of verdant greens and ocean blues on the elevated viewing platform. The south-facing terrace area is a lovely little sun trap and makes for an idyllic reading or sunbathing spot for ever-craved lazy days soaking up some vitamin D. On chillier days curl up in front of the wood burner fire with your favourite Netflix show playing in the background. 

Carbis bay beach is just a fifteen-minute walk away down the hill where you can go swimming in its shallow crystal clear waters. Continue your walk a little further to the popular resort town of St Ives, reachable in thirty-five minutes (or eight minutes by car or bus). With the Tate, Barbara Hepworth Museum, lots of beautiful beaches great for swimming or surfing, as well as an array of independent shops, restaurants and cafes – this home is sure to fulfil the needs of surfers. walkers, swimmers, cyclists and art lovers.

Penhallow's Point

Positioned just above Praa Sands on Cornwall's south coastline, this home can't be accused of not making the most of this sensational location. The living area has a huge sliding door and the master bedroom an equally large window, and both gaze out towards an unblemished panorama of sea and skyline. There's even a terrace and a small garden so you can feel a breeze on your face while you take in the scenery. Back inside, the home is contemporary with a distinct boho edge thanks to the macrame, house plants, natural fabrics and soothing neutral colour scheme. In one corner, there's a wood burner, which can warm you up after a day of surfing and frolicking about on the beach. The South West Coast runs by the address and continues in either direction for plenty more stunning landscape, while Penzance only takes seventeen minutes to reach in the car if you want a day of galleries and restaurants.

Cornish Nightingale

This bright four-story house has been designed with comfort and style in mind. Don’t be fooled by the ultra-modern, white facade; this place still retains a nod to its heritage with exposed stones from the original fisherman's cottage. In summer, light pours through the large windows and the log burner and underfloor heating keeps you cosy in the colder months. A crisp, white background lets the seaside watercolours on the wall speak for themselves and the big kitchen is more than spacious enough for the buzz of family breakfast time. On sunny days, head out to the wooden deck looking out to sea (with an outdoor heater available), or tuck yourself away on the dining terrace for an alfresco seafood feast from the local fishmonger.

The home faces a quiet lane leading to the centre of the bustling and charming town of St. Ives, where you'll find excellent seafood restaurants, cafés, indie galleries and soft-sanded beaches. Enjoy the local Cornish culture with ocean adventures like wild swimming, surfing and paddleboarding, all just a short walk away.

A Sea Of Calm

Moments from the bustle of downtown Penzance and set conveniently above an award-winning local fish and chip shop, welcome to this light-filled, breezy getaway with sea views visible at every turn. The apartment has been set up with your needs in mind, and while you won't find the personal possessions and framed family portraits of a lived-in home, it wins top marks for classic English seaside vibes. You have endless coastal walks to choose from, and surfers will be in their element, plus you have excellent seafood dining options nearby. Back at home, the sofa can accommodate the whole team, and low-key luxury and barefoot relaxation are the order of the day, while meals outside allow you to take in the local atmosphere as you people-watch over the promenade. If you'd like to explore further afield, head east to Perranuthnoe Beach, Praa Sands and Porthleven Beach, or south-west to Pedn Vounder Beach and the stunning Minack Theatre – all within a twenty-five-minute drive of your home.

Atlantic Whispers

If, like us, you do love to be beside the seaside, this is a great choice of holiday home. This gorgeous home can be found on the hill behind Mousehole, under a mile away, in the traditional village of Paul. There you’ll find a cosy pub and a 15th-century parish church – if you’re looking for authentic English charm, look no further. It’s in the heart of the Cornish countryside but still close to the coast, making it popular with hikers and surfers alike. We love Sennen beach for the waves, but Penzance is just as easy to get to if you prefer building sandcastles. 

The house has been recently refurbished with much love. Muted hues and natural textiles are key to the style of this laid-back, comfortable home-from-home. When you’re not lounging inside or dining at the farmhouse-style table, you’ll likely be enjoying the fabulous outside space. 

Let the kids tire themselves out playing on the lawn, in the Wendy house, on the swings, or playing table tennis. Meanwhile, you can slip into the hot tub with a glass of something bubbly and really start to unwind. Continue to enjoy the countryside views by dining alfresco – this is what holidays are all about. 


Cornish Daydreams

Positioned in a most dramatic fashion, A Beacon Of Light sits on a granite headland on the North Cornish Coast under the watchful eyes of a beautiful, early-twentieth-century lighthouse. Located just six miles north of Land’s End and two miles from St Just, this fantastic coastal position gives guests the opportunity to experience plenty of excitement while basking in the glory of peaceful serenity. With breathtaking views of the Atlantic ocean, as well as an abundance of flora and fauna, from seabirds to golden gorse and pink thrift, the sights you see here are second to none. If you’re lucky, you may even wake up to find seals lounging on the rocks below the headland. In that case, be like them, sit out on the patio and let the sound of the crashing waves relax you.

A Beacon Of Light

Out of all the sights in Cornwall, St Michael's Mount is one of the most beautiful. This island community is just off the coast of Marazion, with a medieval church and castle sitting atop its rocky terrain. Just a mile and a half from this striking scene, this house is the ideal base for exploring everything the region has to offer. This sleek, modern apartment is dressed in blue-and-white hues, in a nod to its coastal setting. Sash windows look out to rolling fields and trees, and adorning the walls, you may spy a few pieces that were painted by Cornish artists. But for the strongest connection to the nearby sea and the local area, nothing compares to the beach view from your private patio. You’ll love sitting out here for alfresco dining on a balmy evening, just as much as a wholesome brunch on a bright morning. After a long day of exploring beaches and glorious natural landscapes, curl up with a novel and a tumbler of whisky by the shiny, wood-burning stove (after the kids have gone to bed of course).

Higher Ground

Sitting in Goldsithney's coastal village, this charming cottage is only a few minutes down the road from Perranuthnoe Beach. Half a mile away from your front door lies the ancient market town of Marazion, where you can easily access St Michael's Mount at low tide. This southerly spot on the British map has been hailed for its rich history and turquoise waters, attracting tourists from far and wide.

Walk past the wrought-iron gate and hang up your coats in the porch, then you'll see how the interior design continues to honour the heritage of this home. Put your feet up beneath white-painted wood beams in the well-lit living room, as you wait for a batch of Cornish pasties to bake. Sipping a cup of tea, we know that you'll love playing with your dog in this private garden on summer days. After an evening jaunt to the local pub, simply gather your family around the dining table to chat about tomorrow's plans.

You could easily spend your days lounging around this home, but the Cornish west coast is too beautiful to miss. The seaside town of Marazion is just a ten-minute walk away and upon reaching its beach, you'll be doing a double-take as to whether you're really still in the UK. With glistening clear blue seas and white sand beaches, spending the day here is easily done. And for the full experience, we highly recommend a classic Cornish pasty or fish and chips on the beach for a satisfying lunch. 

Return home and wash off the sand in your outdoor shower before enjoying a few drinks in the garden. The barbecue is ready to go to cook up a feast, or you could enjoy a homecooked dinner around the dining table inside if the weather starts to chill. There's nothing more homely than gathering around with family and friends in a Cornish cottage, while the traditional fireplace warms you up from the inside out.
