Hidden away within the farmlands of Watergate Bay in gorgeous North Cornwall, this charming former barn is a mere seven-minute drive from Newquay Beach. In this traditional stone building, the interiors carefully balance rustic elements of the former farm with elegant, modern sensibilities. You can’t help but immediately notice the vast, high ceilings and thick beams welcoming you to the living space. Its chunky, wooden dining bench is ideal for gathering everyone around with a glass of red wine to say cheers to the start of the holiday. From the open-plan lounge, fitted with a bespoke log burning fire, you can enjoy sweeping views of rolling green fields from the picturesque Juliet balcony. And on warm summer nights, head out to the large terrace and light up the barbecue. On your second patio, you’ll find a sun-drenched spot with comfy loungers for reclining and soaking up the sun. It’s also a perfect pad for surf fans, with an outdoor shower and a board storage area round the back. After riding the waves on the Cornish coast, there’s nothing better than coming home and cosying up by the fire with a tumbler of whisky in hand.

Oat & Treacle

Step into this achingly romantic wooden hut in St Kew, Cornwall, for a whirlwind getaway unlike any other. Decorated in an eclectic, bohemian style, you’ll want to fire up the stove and sink right into a pile of embroidered cushions with a mug of hot chocolate. You’ll also have your own private deck on which to drink tea, as well as a wood-fired hot tub – the ultimate way to relax. The mezzanine bedroom area was made for sleeping to the sound of rain falling on the roof – just hope that it clears up quickly in the morning – or listening out for the call of a barn owl passing by. And the north Cornwall coast, with some of the country’s most beautiful beaches, is just a ten-minute drive away. Spend a day at charming Port Isaac, or hop on your bike to take on the Camel Trail – and don't forget to stop in at the country pub across the lane on your way home.

There’s plenty of space for socialising as well as cosy evenings by the wood burning fire or movie nights in the cinema room. All of the bedrooms come with sea views and three of them feature freestanding bathtubs – perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Outside, there’s a terrace, a barbecue and a garden path leading directly to Booby's Bay beach. From here, you can join the South West Coastal Path and it’s just a ten-minute drive into Padstow. There's also a golf course right next door. 


Clifftop Retreat

Do bucket-and-spade breaks in luxury at this family-friendly, Edwardian townhouse in Wadebridge. The careful planning of the interior design to meet guests’ needs and the meticulous sourcing of furnishings and fittings took nearly a year to complete, with the subsequent renovations completing towards the end of 2022.

Upstairs, each bedroom is as beautifully styled as the next, though the main en-suite bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and balcony trumps them all.  With a suntrap garden for morning coffees and two sitting rooms to curl up in with the newspapers in winter months, what’s the big rush to leave the house? Although location-wise this home's also great – North Cornwall’s beaches are just a short drive away. Upstairs, the sunken roof terrace provides an alfresco spot to soak up your stunning surroundings – you can even spot St Ives on a clear day.

And, the fishing port of Padstow is a similar distance away, with its pretty harbour and traditional charm. 

Swallow Lodge

Boredom is persona non grata at this wonderful villa on a holiday resort in North Cornwall, thanks to an incredible range of amenities both private and shared that are available for guests to enjoy.

Starting at the home itself, there's a private heated swimming pool, as well as a sauna and hot tub for warming up after a dip. On sunny days, the barbecue is ready and waiting for an alfresco feast, while the cinema room is sure to be appreciated on days when the weather isn't so kind. Mawgan Porth beach is a leisurely twenty-minute stroll from the home – on your way back why not enjoy a trip to the village pub? For the adrenaline fans among you, try your hand at cycling, hiking, wild swimming or kayaking in the local area.
