Set in a privileged position overlooking the Blue Flag-awarded Carbis Bay Beach, this apartment offers barefoot luxury, stunning interiors and jaw-dropping views in one of the UK's most inspiring stretches of coast. The interior is beautifully styled, with crisp, clean decor and deep blue highlights throughout, from the awning-striped curtains and plant prints to the contemporary kitchen and outdoor furniture. Elsewhere, the master bedroom boasts an en-suite, plus its own set of large French doors that frame those picture-perfect views and open up to you can enjoy that fresh early morning sea breeze from the sanctuary of your bedroom. At the front of the building, a communal garden is perfect for casual picnic lunches. Then, a few minutes' walk away, hop on board the train for the short scenic journey to St Ives. The town offers mouthwatering cuisine and an abundance of culture thanks to Tate St Ives.

Seagulls Soar

With glorious views of St Ives, as pretty as the coastal paintings this artistic town is known for – you won't want to leave this amazing Edwardian townhouse. Situated in a private terrace, with no passing traffic, take in the turquoise ocean vistas from the beautiful, sunny terrace, surrounded by pink hydrangeas, with a glass of Cornish fizz. Or head inside, where you'll be greeted with large bay windows – admire the town, harbour and the sparkling sea from here. Our favourite spot has to be the plush velvet window seat in the bedroom. With two living areas and several outdoor spaces, this home is perfect for a family or group of friends looking to spread out. To top it all, there's parking for up to two cars, which is a rare bonus in St. Ives.

The vibrant town centre is a five-minute walk, where you'll find plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. It's the same walking distance to Porthminster Beach, one of St Ives's six beaches – the others are Porthgwidden, Harbour, Porthmeor, Lambeth Walk and Bamaluz – so you're spoilt for choice. For art lovers, the Barbara Hepworth Museum is a seven-minute saunter, while the Tate St Ives is eleven minutes on foot.

A Coastal Painting

Few apartments in St Ives can claim what this one delivers – direct access onto Porthmeor Beach, with wide glass doors that frame the Atlantic from the sunken living room. When the doors are thrown open, the line between inside and the sand essentially disappears. The sunken lounge makes for unhurried evenings with the sound of the sea close by, while the outdoor shower earns its keep after a surf. St Ives town centre is a short stroll away, the harbour quayside around five minutes on foot, and Tate St Ives is walkable in under ten.

Porthmeor Panoramas

Just a five-minute walk from the centre of the village, this pretty cottage feels every bit the wonderfully rural Cornish retreat. As part of a set of converted farm buildings, this place has changed a lot since it was used to store seed potatoes back in the day.

A glossy modern kitchen, plump sofas, a velvet beanbag, and a rainfall shower are just some of the features that bring comfort and style to this rustic abode. We love the log burner in the lounge, the heart of the living space, where you can round up the family after a day out exploring the area. But for the ultimate in modern-day luxury, we suggest you take a long soak in the home's new hot tub, out in the lovely garden.

You'll be just minutes away from both the north and south Cornish coast by car, with Penzance, Marazion and the impressive St Michael's Mount all nearby.

Maris Peer

This 17th Century fisherman's cottage reveals unrivalled sea-facing views as far as the eye can see. Whether you're in the living room, bedrooms or indeed out on the terrace, prepare to be blown away by the soothing ambience of living by the sea. The inside of the home offers countryside interiors with a modern twist. Grandfather chairs, cosy blankets, exposed stone and a wood-burning stove provide a warming place to snuggle up in after a day of exploring the Cornish coastline. Pick up some fish and chips on the way home and tuck in at the dining table outside – you'll definitely want to be home for sunset. Enjoy a glass of bubbly while watching as the balmy sky paints a colourful picture over the horizon. Wander the narrow winding streets of Mousehole – lined with boutiques, galleries and restaurants. With the fishing port, only a seven-minute walk away as well as surf beaches galore around this part of Cornwall, you'll be based in a dream coastal spot for a quintessential English seaside experience.

A Fisherman's Cottage

This home, located on a quiet residential street above Carbis Bay’s Parthrepta Beach, is the perfect base from which solo travellers, couples or small families can explore the coastal towns and beaches of St Ives Bay including Carbis Bay, which is just a fifteen-minute walk from your door. The annexe offers a small gravel courtyard at the back of the home which is ideal for sun-soaked mornings enjoying a leisurely breakfast alfresco, or an afternoon tea with fresh Cornish cream, jam and scones.

Wander Carbis Bay’s crescent of white sands and turquoise waters or go on a water adventure and grab a paddleboard or kayak from the beach-based surf school. For beautiful walks, we can highly recommend the coast path from here to St Ives, which showcases spectacular views over the bay, and the 1.9km walk has a gentle ascent meaning the whole family can enjoy the scenery and bracing sea air. Or, if that sounds like too much for you, the single-track railway of the St Erth line follows that same path along the coast offering passengers an incredible vantage point to see all of St Ives Bay and beyond.

After a busy day, the home’s open-plan living space will provide you with a comfortable sofa to unwind from your beach days, while the dining area beckons you to share meals and discuss your plans for the following day over a delicious dinner.

Combining escapism with modern home luxuries, cosying up here couldn't be more blissful – and we can see precisely why this spot was featured in The Times 25 Best Glamping Stays in the U.K.

Inside the space, chic pine interiors and a quirky curved ceiling set the scene for a peaceful night's sleep; meanwhile, the hot tub outside adds an extra touch of indulgence to enjoy under the twinkle of the stars. When it comes to dinner time – get ready to grill up some fresh fare on the barbecue for romantic meals in utter seclusion.

Wonder of the Sea

This apartment is a prime example of when location, design and the space itself dovetail into something really rather remarkable. Behind the front door, the wooden floor, neutral walls and large windows create a bright and inviting interior, with a touch of class added from the building's grand features, such as the arched doorways and high ceilings. The kitchen is both large and modern enough for long dinner parties, while there's also a small games room to keep little ones out of the way for a while. Outside, guests get access to a private courtyard, which has a barbecue for those warm evenings. If the weather's agreeable while you're here, there's no shortage of activities to undertake nearby. Porthkidney Beach is the closest stretch of the seaside — only a quarter of an hour's walk — but there are lots more options within easy driving distance. Tate St Ives only takes fifteen minutes to reach in the car as well.

Little Egret

Discover the quaint fishing village of Mousehole with a stay at this traditional Cornish home. Though it's been updated with contemporary furnishings and amenities, you can easily discern the home's history with its old stone walls, wood-burning stove, and the exposed wooden trusses that adorn the bedroom's ceilings. An outdoor balcony on the roof connects to two of the bedrooms, making it the perfect spot for a morning breakfast or cup of tea. We love the living area’s enormous bay window that looks onto the sea – a view that goes hand in hand with a bottle of wine in front of the fire or a good book. Mousehole offers plenty of options for eateries, including traditional pubs and tearooms, but on nights when you just fancy a home-cooked meal, the kitchen is fully equipped. Dine at the rustic wooden table, then head out for an evening walk along the harbour wall and watch the waves crash. Tomorrow you can walk the Coastal Path to the Tater Du Lighthouse, or take a scenic drive to the nearby towns of Newlyn, St Michael's Mount or charming St Ives. If you prefer to stay in Mousehole, wander the shops and enchanting streets of this quiet seaside town before returning it's time to hit the beach again.
