We loved this home’s wooden deck – with stunning sea views, a dining table, barbecue, two loungers and Adirondacks facing the ocean, it’s fully equipped for time well-spent outside. Factor in that you’re less than a ten-minute walk from the beach and you have a real winner. Meander down the South West Coast Path to laidback Sennen Cove with its stretch of golden sand and tropical-blue water. Here Cornish fishermen brush shoulders with tousle-haired surfers. We recommend renting a board and catching a wave – there are two highly-rated surf schools in the area. When you return home, hit the outdoor shower and set your wetsuits to dry in the warm utility room before heading inside, where you’ll find it’s just as lovely as its surroundings – smart and minimal with touches of nautical chic. We especially love the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living area. Kick back on the sofas and play a board game or puzzle all together. Then gather around the light wood table for a feast before retiring to the bedrooms for some restful sleep, knowing there’s another beautiful seaside morning waiting for you when you awake.

Renowned for its snow-white sands and turquoise-blue waters, Porthcurno Beach is situated in a small cove between grassy headlands and is reachable in just four minutes by car or if you fancy a long walk, you can reach it on foot in thirty-three minutes. The large boulder formations here add to the beaches striking appearance and also provide great conditions for both bodyboarding and swimming. What’s more, backing the beach is the iconic open-air Minack theatre with its Grecian architecture and panoramic views over the bay. From May until September, you will be able to experience a variety of plays and concerts with an incredible ocean backdrop stretching to Logan Rock headland in the distance. 

For Cornwall’s famous surfing waves, Porthchapel Beach is a short five-minute drive away. Plus, there is plenty of beautiful scenery and attractions on offer with easy reach from this home including, Penzance – a nineteen-minute drive away, and Land’s End – reachable in eight minutes by car. 

In the late afternoon, we would love nothing more than to spend some time in the home’s wrap-around garden, sunbathing on the loungers and enjoying a Cornwall cream tea at the picnic table. We love Sennen beach for the waves, but Penzance is just as easy to get to if you prefer building sandcastles.

As soon as hunger bites, take the ten-minute drive to the town of Newlyn for an irresistible selection of seafood restaurants – the Michelin Guide recommended Tolcarne Inn was one of our favourites.

Upstairs, the luxurious master bedroom boasts atmospheric views across Porthmeor Beach. And with cotton linen bedding, you’ll find yourself transported to a restorative state of bliss.

Outside, the sun-dappled terrace invites you to enjoy drinks whilst savouring the magic of coastal living. From here, it’s just a short refreshing stroll to the cafes, shops and award-winning restaurants of St Ives. Our highlights include wandering through the Tate Gallery, walking barefoot on the beach and watching the sunset with locals in the harbour.

Near the picturesque village of Mousehole, this home blows us away with panoramic sea views. Making the most of the good weather is easy when you have multiple seating areas to choose from. Indoors, we love the contemporary design, and that the twin room can be set up for a couple instead. Though the bathtubs offer relaxation, take care not to bump your head on sloped ceilings. You can reach Newlyn on foot, but the well-known Penzance is only a ten-minute drive from here.

With stunning sea views and a series of grand bedrooms, this Grade II listed 17th-century home is perfect for large families or groups of friends who are looking for a relaxing coastal retreat. Children and parents alike will enjoy the walled garden and homely interior, tastefully furnished to create a down-to-earth yet premium ambience.

The village setting is quintessentially Cornish, with the beach just five minutes down the road and lovely local pubs and cafes within easy reach (your closest is right around the corner). For travels further afield, guests can explore English heritage sites and well-preserved National Trust houses and gardens – we'd recommend bringing a car to easily tick the off the list. The local coastline provides excellent surf and beautiful hiking trails, adored by local lovers of the outdoors.

The Merry Sailor 

With sea views and serene interiors, this apartment in Marazion is ideal for a romantic coastal escape. The soothing colour scheme is as relaxing as a day at the beach, while the comfy furnishings provide plenty of spots to kick back and relax. And it doesn't lack charm, either – everywhere you look there are nods to the area's nautical roots, the star of which is the original ship window above the kitchen sink. The ocean outlook makes washing up something to look forward to, while the induction range stove will get your creative culinary juices flowing. But the real showstopper is the south-facing terrace off the bedroom. Wake up to the sight of Mount's Bay in the morning, then pull up a chair, pour yourself a glass of wine and watch the sunset each evening. When you're ready to venture out, you'll be spoilt for choice, whether you want to kitesurf and paddleboard, grab a bite to eat or sprawl out Marazion Beach (a ten-minute stroll away). And, of course, a trip to Marazion isn't complete without a visit to St Michael's Mount – when the tide is low, you can walk across the causeway to the famous castle in under twenty minutes, but you can always hop on a ferry when the tide rolls in.

Wake up to breathtaking sea views when you visit The Bluest Sight in charming Mousehole. Tucked into the hillside above the town, the home’s main living area is split into two levels and boasts impressive picture windows to guarantee glorious views from almost every angle. Wake up and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in the living area as you gaze out over the harbour and sparkling, turquoise bay that gives Mousehole its fame. Whether you’re visiting in the summer, winter, spring or autumn, Mousehole’s quay is always bustling with art galleries, gift shops and fantastic restaurants. Best of all, you can walk to the harbour in less than ten minutes. Other local attractions include St Clement’s Isle, which sits just some three-hundred metres from the shore and boasts incredible sea and wild life, or the nearby bird sanctuary at Ragginnis Hill. Just be sure to pack comfortable walking shoes because this area is best explored on foot.

The Bluest Sight

This traditional Cornish cottage in Marazion with pretty blue shutters is reminiscent of the Mediterranean. It will sweep you off your feet with its location perched above the coast, offering stunning views out onto the deep blue sea. The living space of the home opens directly onto the balcony and unrivalled vistas across the bay. Dine alfresco on the secluded terrace, but be warned it will be difficult to tear yourself away from this picture-perfect spot once you're comfy. Inside, soft furnishings including the muted sofa suite, wooden furniture and a toned-down colour palette create a warm space, ideal for moments of relaxation where you can listen to the soothing sound of the waves crashing in the background. Positioned in Marazion, Cornwall’s oldest town, there are plenty of discoveries to be made here – the beaches at low tide are sublime in summer and even on cold winter days. Coastal hikes are endless and range from those looking to leisurely take in the scenes or commit to a more strenuous hike. Take a trip across the causeway to St. Michael’s Moun and be sure to visit the magical structures of the Bronze Age. With an array, a myriad of innovative eateries choose from, refuel on some proper pub grub on the way back home.

An escape to the seaside is good for the soul – there’s nothing quite like sea air and pretty views. This home can be found just outside of Mousehole, on the edge of the small village of Paul. You’ll wake up to sea views each morning, and also benefit from some real peace and quiet. 

Begin your day with a hearty cooked breakfast served at the twelve-seat dining table. From there you can admire the greenery outside – perhaps you’ll be tempted to follow your meal with a stroll around the orchard. Find a peaceful spot next to the pond and sip your coffee, revelling in the tranquillity. If the weather stops play, there’s always a comfy seat by an open fire – choose from the living room and sitting room, where you’ll also find a piano. Children will love splashing about in the heated indoor swimming pool. 

Of course with a visit to the seaside, you’ll want to spend time near the sea. It takes seven minutes to drive to Newlyn Tolcarne Beach, where you can build sandcastles, paddle and skim stones. Later on in the day, you might drive to Mousehole Harbour – just five minutes away – to admire the boats and tuck into fish and chips. This home was built in 1868 but its location is timeless. 


On The Rise

From its stunning coastline beaches to art galleries and critically esteemed restaurants, St Ives is one of Cornwall's most famous and utterly beautiful villages – and this home offers a well-appointed tiered garden to take it all in from. Just a five-minute walk to the centre of town and a seven-minute stroll from Carbis Bay, the house is perfectly placed for exploring the delights of this sought-after seaside postcode. Back home, the outside space is the real star of the show with a comfortably furnished summerhouse filled with tasteful artwork and nautical adornments. We can think of nothing better than watching the sunset over Godrevy and beyond from here. In warmer months, take to the flower-bedded terrace for alfresco dining and ocean views or find a quiet enclosed patio for a relaxing read in the sun. Stepping inside, you'll find a well-presented interior with light wooden flooring, ornamental fireplaces and exposed brickwork. We also found there to be an industrial-chic styling around the home – from the cooper framed bed in the master bedroom to the low-hanging lampshades over the dining table. There is of course a freestanding bathtub for relaxing soaks after wandering the Cornish coast as well as an abundance of light and airy living space to sprawl out and unwind. There's a traditional country-house kitchen with all the basic appliances for cooking hearty meals, although we'd be tempted to wander into town for a spot of locally sourced and adored fish and chips. 

Happy Tiers

The picturesque fishing village of Mousehole may not be one of Cornwall's most famous hotspots, but it's certainly one of the most beautiful and this home is in the perfect position for exploring it. A short stroll to the centre of its tiny town and a three-minute wander from the sparkling harbour, filled with restaurants, bars and fishing boats. The surrounding area offers plenty to see and do, including many glorious places to eat, but it's always lovely returning back to this cosy cottage. Curl up with a good book under the warmth of the wood-burning stove or sink into the deep sofa seat with a glass of wine. You'll notice plenty of personal touches, from local artwork to quirky adornments, as well as low-beamed ceilings that make for a homely country-style living space to relax. In warmer months, the large garden with the full range of outdoor furniture calls out for lazy days spent in the sun sipping alfresco drinks. Inside and out, this home is the perfect size for a romantic break in a quieter Cornish village.
