Tucked away down a narrow country lane, this charming barn conversion offers a remote haven far removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Your hosts have paid close attention to each and every element within the home, leading to a final result that is nothing short of breathtaking. A dual aspect sunroom on the first floor is the main social space and where we imagine you'll spend most of your time. 

Being encased in glass allows guests to get in touch with nature come rain or shine, while the adjacent balcony is perfect for a sunny afternoon cuppa overlooked by the resident donkeys in the next-door field.

A well-equipped kitchen is situated towards the back of the room and is more than capable of doing justice to any delicious local produce that you happen to pick up on your travels.

Head downstairs to the ground floor and unearth a gorgeous king-size bedroom, complete with a luxurious en-suite that includes an elegant freestanding bath and a spacious walk-in shower. 

Despite occupying a secluded spot in the middle of the countryside, the home is actually very well placed to explore the best of this spectacular county. Surfing hotspots including Newquay, Perranporth and Gwithian are no more than half an hour's drive. At the same time, the picturesque coastal town of St Ives offers fantastic food and high culture (courtesy of Tate St Ives), twenty-six miles away.

The Home Barn

Neatly tucked away on a quiet country lane, this former cowshed has been beautifully converted into a comfortable family getaway. A bright and breezy kitchen-diner is the heart of the home, where suppers are devoured and the day’s anecdotes are shared over a bottle of wine. Bifold doors reveal a sun trap patio, complete with barbecue and seating area – it’s the perfect spot for an ice-cold drink on balmy afternoons. When the time’s right, grab the beach gear from the shed and hotfoot it down to the idyllic Holywell Bay – it’ll take you twenty-five minutes if you’re walking but just five in the car. And if you’re in the mood for a little more action, the vibrant seaside town of Newquay is a ten-minute drive away. After sand castle building and bodyboarding, retreat to your cosy pad for a cup of tea and well-deserved biscuit or two in front of the crackling wood-burning stove. 

Glowing Up

You’ll find this family cottage perched overlooking the Cornish countryside. This country retreat is perfect for a family or group of friends looking to escape the city. The interiors are bright and modern – offering plenty of communal dining and living space. You’ll likely spend most of your time outside – with a large private garden boasting amazing views. Complete with a play area – the kids will have no issues entertaining themselves. Situated in the north-east of Cornwall – the nearest town is Camborne. If you’re hoping to explore the coastline – you’ll find the sandy beach at Portreath just a short drive away. 

The Cornish Rest

Located just a short walk from Mylor’s beautiful marina sits a cottage that is just as picturesque as its surroundings. Scallop Cottage can sleep eight guests and even welcomes up to two dogs, making it a fantastic choice for a friendly family or a bunch of friends keen on escaping on a coastal holiday. Enjoy sweeping views through the large picture windows in the living room, prepare delicious meals in the country kitchen, or bask in the sunshine of your private backyard as you take in the boats of the marina bobbing with the tide of the waves. Weather permitting, we encourage you to take your meals alfresco or make your way down to the marina for a wonderful meal out. There are also plenty of charming cafes and bars that are sure to keep you entertained for the duration of your stay.

Scallop Cottage

If you like the idea of going eco-friendly for a while but don't want to completely give up on comforts, this cosy barn powered by renewable energy could just be a happy compromise. 

The renovated cob and stone property sits within six acres of idyllic riverside woodland and is built out of natural materials, including oak, lime, cob, pigmented clay plaster and locally sourced slate. Inside, there are a few rustic features, such as the exposed stonework and wood-burning fireplace, but otherwise, it's undeniably contemporary thanks to the conservatory, sleek kitchen and pristine bathrooms. The fact that it's powered by a wind turbine and a heat pump is pretty impressive, too.

Given the peace and tranquillity of the surrounding grounds, you'll be happy to hear that there's a natural swimming pool close to the home — shared only with the host, who lives on the site, and one other barn — as well as a barbecue and some spots for an alfresco feast. 

Although it feels like you're in splendid isolation at this address, you can head back to civilisation pretty swiftly if you wish. The town of Truro takes a quarter of an hour to reach in the car, while Perranporth Beach on the north and south Cornish coastlines can be reached in just under twenty-five.

Song of the Land

Tucked away on a quiet lane in Cubert, a small village on the North Coast of Cornwall, this cottage is just the place to recharge your batteries. Once a piggery and hay barn, many of the original features are still inside, from the vaulted timber beam ceilings to the exposed stonework. But old-world charm is not all that's on offer – with underfloor heating, rainfall showers and a sleek high-spec kitchen, creature comforts abound. Our favourite spot has to be the balcony, where you can enjoy a morning coffee or an evening sundowner whilst admiring the sweeping countryside views. The garden is the perfect spot to bask in the sunshine – sprawl out on the lounge chairs with a good book or fire up the grill and tuck into an alfresco meal in the fresh air. Best of all is the location. Stroll through the green orchards towards the village, home to a beloved 16th-century pub and a few coffee shops. When you're in the mood for a beach day, hop in the car and drive five minutes to Holywell Bay, a haven for exceptional surfing, sandy beaches and excellent restaurants.

Amid The Orchards

Tucked in the heart of Newquay, this home makes it easy to enjoy the magic of coastal living. From here, it’s just a short stroll to the beach, while all the amenities you could need are within easy reach. Wherever the day takes you, this home provides a snug and relaxing space to spend quality time together. Inside, the rooms are family-friendly with the handy addition of a sofa bed and children’s amenities available on request. There is also a sweet patio with a barbecue – perfect for summer evening meals. 


A Seaside Retreat

Tucked away in the peaceful wooded valley of Porthluney, this luxurious manor (which featured as one of GQ Magazine's "best holiday cottages in Cornwall for a relaxing summer break") welcomes up to sixteen guests to spend a few glorious days surrounded by beautiful countryside and romantic landscapes. Perfectly complementing its surroundings, Woodland Estate is a Georgian manor boasting plenty of grandeur, original character as well as the necessary home luxuries required to relax and unwind in style. An idyllic place for a wedding, this estate is also licensed for civil ceremonies and receptions for up to 150 people can be held in a marquee on the lawn. So whether you’re looking for a place to celebrate or spend a few relaxing days with your loved ones, Woodland Estate is fully equipped to offer an excellent base from which to explore The Roseland Heritage Coast (a twenty-minute drive away), you’re less than a ten-minute stroll away from the coastal path, two beautiful beaches and a fifteen-minute walk from Caerhays Castle.

Whether you’re enjoying a glass of wine or a sociable family meal at the glass dining table, you’ll be able to look out over the curved bay of Fistral Beach from the huge windows of this penthouse home. Walk just three minutes and find yourself on the sandy shores of one of the most popular beaches in Newquay – and one of the best beaches for surfing in Europe. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, there are surfing schools along the coast to jumpstart or advance your foray into the sport. Start your day with a cup of coffee on the private terrace as you make your plans for the day, or just spend the morning hours watching the comings and goings of the waves. The kitchen is perfect for preparing meals at home, while the bedrooms feel comfortable and cosy, with all the charm of a real lived-in home. In the evenings you’ll witness some spectacular sunsets – pour yourself a glass of wine, settle in the white leather armchair, and watch the sky change colours over the water. Whether you’re interested in walks along the South West Coastal path, golfing or a visit to the aquarium, you’ll find yourself well-placed for exploring this part of the Cornish coast. 

Cornish Sand

This home in the seaside town of Perranporth has all the convenience and comfort of a new build while enjoying a position a short walk from the beach. In fifteen minutes on foot, you can be in the heart of town where seafood restaurants and cosy pubs abound, plus there’s a sweep of sandy beach and access to the glorious South West Coastal Path. Return to your sleek, modern abode where comfort is the name of the game. Some may say “soulless”, but we say if the sofas are squishy, the kitchen is fully equipped (even with a wine fridge) and the beds are top-notch, what’s not to love?  

The Golden Gilded

Renovated with style, comfort, and an understated elegance in mind, this charming 19th century cottage in Cornwall isn’t just beautiful to look at, it also has some pretty spectacular views of the countryside to admire as you enjoy a cup of coffee on the sunny bench out front. 

For breakfast, you’ll find a new, striking kitchen with enough space to allow for everyone to come together and help. Once prepared, enjoy your Full English under the statement pendants currently swinging right above the dining table, or take it outside to eat alfresco around the little bistro table out front. 

Beach days lie only a ten-minute walk away, so pack your sunscreen and head off to Loe Beach for a day filled with sun, sandcastles, more Cornish ice cream than you can handle, and a quick dip in the ocean. Stop off at the cafe to enjoy fresh cake or cream tea before heading home, sundrenched and contented. 

Ferry off from just beyond Trelissick to get to the Roseland Peninsula where you will stumble upon hidden beaches and waterfront eateries. Closer to home, you can walk into the heart of the village in minutes to enjoy a meal or explore the scenic coastal paths. 

Return to a sofa that was practically made for curling up with a glass of wine and a good novel, but can just as easily accommodate the whole family for a movie night. Anyone looking to catch up on work, can do so at the dedicated desk up stairs, but something about this home might make you want to do as little as possible so you can instead kindle the fire, put your feet up, and relax and recharge. 

Brick & Book

You could sneak in through the back at this apartment in a Regency manor, but that would take away from the grand entrance worthy of a Jane Austen heroine. Sashaying through the double doors and across the marble floor, past the stone fireplace, you come to your abode. It’s in the old ballroom of the manor, and the floor-to-ceiling bays windows and gilded mirrors haven’t changed since the days of swishing gowns and music from the pianoforte (indeed, there’s still a grand piano in here). 

Rather than a bandstand, there’s now a kitchen at the head of the ballroom, and if you prefer your evenings slightly more intimate, a book-lined snug with a plush velvet sofa awaits in the bedroom. We love the hand-carved antique bed, waiting to see you off to the land of nod.

There are acres of grounds to explore on the estate, but if you want to get out and see the Cornish coast, it’s just a ten-minute drive to the beaches of St Ives Bay. The gallery-filled old fishing town of St Ives itself is just twenty minutes by car.
