This is the ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee on the bench while soaking up some rays and the table and chairs here invite alfresco meals aplenty – you’re even free to help yourself to the herb garden to liven up your homecooked feasts. 
 
Tucked away at the back of the apartment, you’ll find the copper-accented bedroom. You’ll have no trouble slipping into sweet dreams in this quiet spot, leaving you rested and ready for an exciting day of sightseeing upon waking up. 

Speaking of exploring, you’re right in the centre of Truro with countless shops and restaurants on your doorstep, as well as some of the city’s most famous sights, including Truro Cathedral (a three-minute walk), the Royal Cornwall Museum (a five-minute walk) and Victoria Gardens (an eight-minute walk). Elsewhere, you’re just a twenty-minute drive from both sandy Perranporth Beach – the only UK beach to have a pub on it – and St Agnes, where you’ll find surf schools, local ale pubs and myriad independent boutiques.

In the centre of charming Truro, this apartment feels like a cosy ode to wool. Plush knitted throws adorn the sofa in the open-plan living room, and the bed is lined with fluffy sheepskin. Herringbone floor completes a classic look, and we love the seat in the big Georgian window (furnished with a sheepskin throw, of course) overlooking the street for a spot of people-watching. The kitchen has everything you need to cook full meals at home – perhaps courtesy of the fresh fish landed every day in the nearby harbour towns. And, if you want to dine outside, there’s a shared courtyard dappled with fairylights for the occasion.

Location-wise, you’re in the heart of town and can reach all of Truro easily on foot. Quaint cafés serving scones (jam first, of course) and cream teas, fresh seafood restaurants and plenty of shops await. Getting out to explore the area, you’ll find the Roseland Heritage Coast AONB a ten-minute drive for clifftop coastal walks, and the buzzing beach of Falmouth is a twenty-minute drive.

Most tourists make a beeline for the Cornish coast – but little do they know that this beloved landscape is home to another beautiful feature, the Fal River. The surroundings here are slightly different, where green pasture gives way to mixed woodland and small pebbled riverside beaches. This characterful, quintessentially Cornish cottage dates back to the 1800s and provides perfect panoramic views over these stunning vistas, with three separate outside seating areas to choose from. Whether you're looking to relax, explore the beautiful scenery of the area, or just a change of scenery for working remotely, you'll have everything you need at this beautiful home. You'll have several choices when it comes to relaxing outdoors, with a sunny front patio, back garden and terrace, and private balcony just off the second bedroom to sit out on and enjoy the picturesque countryside views of the river below. Dine alfresco in the tiered garden, or set yourself up in the study to get some work done. For those hoping for a little more excitement in their days, you'll have kayaks at your disposal to get out on the river. Just remember to be aware of the tide times when you're out!

In the sleepy village of Malpas you'll find a fantastic local pub, as well as a farm shop and tea room all within easy walking distance. Lace up your walking boots and take advantage of some excellent country walks right from your doorstep, plus regular boat tours from the marina out to nearby locations, including the bustling nearby town of Falmouth, the Trelissick Gardens or the beautiful port of St. Mawes. There's even a ferry nearby that can take you and your car over the river to the Roseland Peninsula. When you get home, spend a cosy evening warming up on the sofa in front of the log burner as the sun sets.

Brimming with original artwork and oozing charm, this coastal cottage is a real knock-out. We love every inch, from the inviting living space to the sumptuous bedroom. It's snug, but that's what makes it so cosy, and for a small space, it sure is packed with personal touches. Egyptian cotton sheets, electric fireplace, fluffy bathrobes, beach essentials, a welcome basket overflowing with breakfast items – your host has all the little details taken care of. As much as we adore the lovely kitchen, our favourite spot has to be the rustic courtyard. Dotted with olive trees and surrounded by leafy potted plants, it's the perfect place for morning coffees, alfresco dinners and evening tipples as the sun goes down. As far as locations go, this home is close to everything – it's only a ten-minute walk to Gyllyngvase Beach and five minutes to the restaurants, shops and pubs along the waterfront. While there's private parking on-site, you won't need the car for much. Don your comfiest shoes and set off on foot instead, exploring Falmouth's coastal walks, art galleries and cafes with ease.

Just over a mile from the village of Stithians, down by the River Kennall, this stone cottage is set in the 7-acre land surrounding an old farmhouse. But despite its incredibly rural setting, staying here is far from the rustic experience you might expect. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Upon arrival, your host will warmly welcome you with a hamper full of luxury Cornish fare and home-baked goods to start your holiday right. While you nibble and sip, you can start exploring the cosy home. Fluffy rugs, plush sofas, and wooden floors create a sense of warmth and softness in the living space, but floor-to-ceiling windows bring the outside in. And the great outdoors are particularly great in this case. Under the wooden decking, get ready to pop champagne and soak in the hot tub. Or perhaps you’d rather recline on the outdoor sofas by the wood-burner, have a barbecue, or play a few rounds of table tennis? As you’re just a fifteen-minute drive to Gyllyngvase Beach in Falmouth, you’ll also need to pack a picnic one day and head for the shore (don’t forget to grab the beach towels that your host kindly provides).

There are lots of things that impressed us about this cute cottage close to the North Cornish coastline. First off, there's a lot of room inside considering it's only for two people, with the modern corner kitchen particularly large — and well-equipped for that matter. This generosity with space will have contributed towards the M2 Accessibility Rating it received from Visit England, which marks the single-level property out as suitable for guests with reduced mobility and part-time wheelchair users. What's more, there's a private sandstone patio complete with alfresco seating and a hot tub from which to enjoy summer evening sunsets. If you prefer to watch this while sitting on the sand with the sound of the waves lapping nearby, Perranporth Beach is less than ten minutes' drive. Similarly, the towns of Truro and Newquay only take a quarter of an hour to reach by car.

Refuel on local produce at the Gull Rocks Bar & Coffee House at the beach’s entrance after an afternoon spent splashing about, and take in the stunning vistas afforded by its prime location. The Treguth Inn, hailing back to the thirteenth century also awaits just five minutes away, while several more traditional pubs and desirable restaurants can be found within a fifteen-minute drive. The choice is all yours. 

A short twenty-minute drive away is the Gannel Estuary, which separates neighbouring Crantock village from Newquay. Have a go at canoeing in the estuary, or try your hand at paddle-boarding over in Crantock. On quieter days, why not go for fish and chips followed by some ice cream in idyllic fishing villages such as Mevagissey, Mousehole or Gorran Haven, all within an hour's drive? Whatever you choose to do, you won't be short of fun.
  
Of course, such is the high-quality amenities, you don't even need to leave the house. An open living area is blessed with natural light and plenty of space, perfect for social evenings. Tucked away in a dense wood, far from the world, it's a perfect retreat for a couple or a solo traveller. From the cosy Bohemian interiors to luxurious appliances (think Heston Blumenthal BBQ and Bose sound system), there's plenty to love. Step outside after a breakfast on the deck and you can spend a day swinging on the hammocks or lounging on the recliners amid birds. Revel each day in coastal walks across Porthtowan Beach until you reach the cliffs. Cycle around villages and all across this UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you're a surfer, the hosts own their own Surf shop and will be happy to help. You will be welcomed with a Cornish tea of home-made scones, clotted cream and jam. And, if in season, you may get a package of home-grown seasonal organic vegetables as a gift.

Some homes are designed around a view and this is one of them. Perched close to the Cornish coastline, it's possible to gaze out at peaceful vistas of Swanpool lagoon or Falmouth Bay, depending on which of the floor-to-ceiling windows you're standing next to at any given moment. The best spot at the address, however, has to be the covered balcony, from which you can enjoy the coastal panorama with a sea breeze on your skin.

One added benefit of all this glass is the copious amount of natural light that it lets into the home and this asset is emphasised by the preference for stark white in the walls and the kitchen's sleek surfaces. The home's design is definitely shaped by contemporary minimalism, which will really sing to those who have no time for nautical kitsch found in plenty of local properties.

As a glimpse out the windows will tell you, the sea isn't all too far away – in fact, you can be standing on the sands of Swanpool beach in under five minutes' walk. This seaside spot sits on the South West Coast Path, so you can ramble on in either direction if you so wish. The town of Falmouth will take you half an hour to reach on foot, too.

Sample a taste of life on the ocean waves without ever leaving dry land. If this stunning home was any closer to the sea, it would be in it – as it is, the windows grant a view of the beach that’s guaranteed to make your heart skip a beat. Each of the four bedrooms have been impeccably decorated with a premium touch, but we think you’ll all be fighting over the master. You can reach Porthowan's sandy shores in less than ten minutes on foot, stopping to pick up some fish and chips en route. Further along the Cornish coastline, there are plenty of hidden coves and cliffside villages to explore – just hop in the car and go where the wind (or sea) takes you.

Your hosts have paid close attention to each and every element within the home, leading to a final result that is nothing short of breathtaking. A dual aspect sunroom on the first floor is the main social space and where we imagine you'll spend most of your time. 

Being encased in glass allows guests to get in touch with nature come rain or shine, while the adjacent balcony is perfect for a sunny afternoon cuppa overlooked by the resident donkeys in the next-door field.

A well-equipped kitchen is situated towards the back of the room and is more than capable of doing justice to any delicious local produce that you happen to pick up on your travels.

Head downstairs to the ground floor and unearth a gorgeous king-size bedroom, complete with a luxurious en-suite that includes an elegant freestanding bath and a spacious walk-in shower. 

Despite occupying a secluded spot in the middle of the countryside, the home is actually very well placed to explore the best of this spectacular county. Surfing hotspots including Newquay, Perranporth and Gwithian are no more than half an hour's drive. At the same time, the picturesque coastal town of St Ives offers fantastic food and high culture (courtesy of Tate St Ives), twenty-six miles away.

If you like the idea of going eco-friendly for a while but don't want to completely give up on comforts, this cosy barn powered by renewable energy could just be a happy compromise. 

The renovated cob and stone property sits within six acres of idyllic riverside woodland and is built out of natural materials, including oak, lime, cob, pigmented clay plaster and locally sourced slate. Inside, there are a few rustic features, such as the exposed stonework and wood-burning fireplace, but otherwise, it's undeniably contemporary thanks to the conservatory, sleek kitchen and pristine bathrooms. The fact that it's powered by a wind turbine and a heat pump is pretty impressive, too.

Given the peace and tranquillity of the surrounding grounds, you'll be happy to hear that there's a natural swimming pool close to the home — shared only with the host, who lives on the site, and one other barn — as well as a barbecue and some spots for an alfresco feast. 

Although it feels like you're in splendid isolation at this address, you can head back to civilisation pretty swiftly if you wish. The town of Truro takes a quarter of an hour to reach in the car, while Perranporth Beach on the north and south Cornish coastlines can be reached in just under twenty-five.

This beautiful Grade II-listed Georgian Manor House in the heart of Cornwall is perfect for large gatherings and celebrations. Tucked away among thirty acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, there are plenty of woodland paths, ponds and rolling hills for adults and children alike to enjoy. However, there are so many ways to let loose here. On sunny days, the patio with its barbecue and alfresco dining area will naturally be the place to be, but there's also the option to slip away from the crowds for a dip in the outdoor hot tub, complete with candles and LED lighting.

Whether you're here to top up your tan, hike breathtaking coastal paths or surf Fistral's world-class waves, you couldn't be more perfectly positioned to enjoy everything that Newquay has to offer. On arrival, it's hard to look past the view over the beach. So swing open the French doors, breathe in that sea air and listen to the sounds of the sea – the soundtrack to your stay. We loved the relaxed living spaces that made us nostalgic for childhood holidays to the Cornish coast. It's the ideal spot to sit back with your morning coffee as you plan what to do with your day. Of course, the beach offers something completely different depending on the weather. Blow away the cobwebs on a windy walk, brave a bracing dip, or soak up the sun on the sand. As for the surfing? That's a year-round pursuit. There's no such thing as cold water, just the wrong gear. And there are plenty of local surf shops that can kit you out. Away from the beach, the town beckons with an excellent selection of seafood restaurants and cool cafes with some classic Cornish fare too. Who doesn't love a pasty? Families will love the zoo and aquarium, while couples can enjoy the sunset from the comfort of a contemporary home with views to die for.

From here, it’s a short stroll to the beach, while the nearest restaurants, shops and cafes are all within easy reach. For a unique and unforgettable experience, stay in this operational lighthouse on the furthest point of Cornwall’s Roseland Peninsula. The sea views are second-to-none, whether that’s from the sunny patio or the detached observation room – complete with a fireplace for cosy storm watching. Seeing as this lighthouse is operational, expect to hear automatic fog signal on misty nights and see maintenance people from time to time. Other than that, the cottage is private with no public access. You’ll park in the National Trust car park – it’s a 300-metre steep path down to the cottage from there. Guests should also be aware that the home isn't suitable for children under 14, including babies. But there's a lot to love here. You even have easy access to a beautiful beach.
