When you're in the mood to whip up a homecooked meal, the stylish blue kitchen has everything you'll need – on warm days, take your dinner into the enclosed garden and enjoy it in the evening sun, or if you'd prefer not to cook, end the afternoon with a pint at the pub down the road. Wadebridge town centre is about a twenty-minute walk (or a five-minute drive) away and home to an array of eateries, bars, coffee shops and boutiques to pass the time in. Do bucket-and-spade breaks in luxury at this family-friendly, Edwardian townhouse in Wadebridge. The careful planning of the interior design to meet guests’ needs and the meticulous sourcing of furnishings and fittings took nearly a year to complete, with the subsequent renovations completing towards the end of 2022.

Upstairs, each bedroom is as beautifully styled as the next, though the main en-suite bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and balcony trumps them all.  With a suntrap garden for morning coffees and two sitting rooms to curl up in with the newspapers in winter months, what’s the big rush to leave the house? Although location-wise this home's also great – North Cornwall’s beaches are just a short drive away. Or keep things local with a mooch about Wadebridge or a dog walk along the River Camel Trail – just five minutes from your door.

When browsing for holiday lets, one often has to sacrifice living space for proximity to attractions. Not with this three-bed, six-person apartment in the well-known Cornish fishing town of Padstow. Just a minute’s walk from the harbour, and Rick Stein’s world famous fish and chips, it also has generous living rooms, a large patio garden and ample parking. Other highlights include a spa bath, 65” smart TV with Bluetooth speakers and modern furniture which gives the whole space a fresh, clean feel. Take a short foot ferry across to Rock for great beaches and more great seafood restaurants - or bring the catch of the day home for home-cooking.

The Blue Sandpiper

Tucked away in the charming streets of Padstow, this laid-back cottage blends a youthful personality with rustic roots. That's why wooden beams, flagstone floors and crates repurposed as tables rub shoulders with industrial-chic lighting, comfy furnishings in bold colours and dazzlingly white bathrooms complete with rainfall showers. 

After a long day by the seaside, put your feet up in front of the log burner with a good book and a glass of wine in hand. We also liked the large blue kitchen, where you can cook up a storm when you're feeling peckish – the pendant lights hanging above the island are actually made from old kilner jars – as well as the bedrooms with their antique French beds, which will add a sense of occasion to your nightly routine. 

Although the local neighbourhood feels residential, the town's lively harbour and the surrounding cafes, gourmet restaurants and seaside pubs can be reached in under five minutes on foot. There's no shortage of beautiful beaches in North Cornwall either, with St George’s Cove a twenty-minute trek along the South West Coast Path and Hawker's Cove an eleven-minute drive away. All in all, it's a great place to call home on your Cornish getaway.

Woodbine Cottage

A big family home in the ever-popular town of Padstow, this place has plenty of wow factors – from rare private parking to stunning views across the River Camel estuary. Set on a slope, its three floors make the most of its position with views getting better and better at the top of the house. Inside, it's a tasteful blend of period features and contemporary styling, with a subtle nod towards its coastal location in its palette of whites, greys and blues. The Edwardian home has been thoroughly updated to provide a perfect spot for a large family getaway. There are two living rooms to choose from (one for the youngsters to hang out in, perhaps?) and a big kitchen diner with an Aga and everything you'll need to cook on night's in. We particularly love the big bedroom on the top floor, with its panoramic estuary views all the way across to Rock, and the semi-covered patio at the back where you can barbecue on sunny afternoons. The garden goes up in steps from the house, finally reaching a raised deck with a dining table and chairs – the ideal place to enjoy the sunshine and that famous view. Just minutes away on foot, Padstow's beautiful harbour and legendary dining scene offer all sorts of options, and it's just a short hike along the coast to the nearest beach. Or catch the foot ferry and paddle in the clear waters at Rock.  

Rock Eye

Surrounded by lush Cornish countryside and just a short drive away from the coast, this historic holiday cottage is a lovely base for a small family or an intimate group of friends searching for a tranquil retreat away from the pressures of city life. 

Beautifully decorated, the open-plan living area will welcome you with a plush sofa and armchairs, and with those original features we love. Kick back and relax with a glass of wine and a good movie, or gather around the dining table for delicious family meals you’ll be able to put together with ease in the well-equipped kitchen. Should a chillier evening catch you by surprise, the wood-burning stove is here to provide some extra warmth and a lovely glow. 

For a night of restful sleep, the two cosy bedrooms await you – wake up feeling restored and ready for more Cornish adventures. A short stroll from the cottage will take you to the Camel Trail, which will lead you into the town of Padstow via a picturesque nature walk, while the beaches located a fifteen-minute drive away offer endless opportunities for enjoying water sports and dreamy coastal walks.

Arriving at Slates By The Shore, you might not be expecting the good-looking cottage that awaits behind the front door. You'll be struck by its swanky style, a mix of authentic stone walls and flooring with the centrepiece of a modern spiral staircase. Put your feet to good use and explore the town of Padstow and, venturing further, take to the Camel Trail, an eighteen-mile hiking (or cycling) trail that takes you through glorious coastal scenery. Back in Padstow, speedboat rides, cobbled souvenir shops, and a good old serving of fish and chips await.

Padstow is one of Cornwall's most famous towns, and this home is in the perfect position for exploring it. A five-minute walk away from the harbour, the home is the right size for a family or small group of friends planning to decamp to this sought-after postcode. In warmer months, the house's two terraces have got 'alfresco drinks' written all over them – indulge in some people-watching from the front patio, or soak up the rays in the south-facing back garden. The fenced-in garden also has a barbecue for cooking up a feast, though the kitchen has plenty of equipment if the weather isn't playing ball. Wooden floorboards and old fireplaces hint at the home's history, with cosy touches such as deep sofas and throws in the lounge for keeping warm come the evening. You could spend days admiring the boats floating in the harbour and eating freshly-caught seafood in the local restaurants, and there are also plenty of coastal walks and sandy beaches to explore close by. This is seaside living at its very best.

The house is just a seven-minute walk from the centre of Padstow and its pretty, characterful harbour. Perhaps you’ll stroll into town first thing for breakfast in one of the many cafes and restaurants, before making your way to the beach. Lower Beach is our favourite, and it’s just an eighteen-minute walk from the house. Take along your bucket and spade and make memories in this most picturesque part of the UK. 

When you make your way back to the house, sun-kissed and sandy, fire up the barbecue. Spend your evening in the garden, admiring the views of the Camel Estuary and watching the sun slowly set. The garden is the jewel in the crown of this lovely home, with comfortable seating and bi-folding doors than can be opened wide to give the living space a holiday feel.

Return from a long day on the beach to relax in the sunny garden or sink into one of the sumptuous velvet couches, before heading out again for dinner in one of the many acclaimed restaurants nearby.

La La Lilypad

Known for its sparkling harbour, Rock ferry and critically adored fish and chips, Padstow is one of Cornwall's most sought-after villages – and this period townhouse is the perfect spot to explore it from. Just half a mile to the beach and surrounded by traditional British pubs, gourmet restaurants and shops, everything is well within reach here. Awarded a stunning face-lift by a restoration project early in 2018, the modern interiors come as a pleasant surprise. Stepping into the living room you'll notice many of the home's original features from the intricate fireplace, high ceilings and wooden flooring – but move into the kitchen and be struck by the sleek white cooking island, pristine tiled flooring and the sociable open-plan layout. From the dramatic spotlighting to a glass-topped dining table, this home will have you relaxing in style. Outside, the spot's pretty terrace calls out for alfresco drinks in the sunshine. Sitting close to the point where the River Camel meets the Celtic Sea, there are many a reason to pay a visit to Padstow and whatever it is that brings you to this charming fishing town, this home offers a reliable place to rest your head at night.

There's a refreshing simplicity to the design, with no risks taken with the white walls, smart wooden floors and mid-century-inspired furnishings. However, it all feels contemporary enough and is a suitably relaxing space to return to after outdoor expeditions. The dining room next to the glass door has a bright and airy ambience, but if the weather's on your side, you can opt instead to gather together in the hydrangea-filled garden.

When you want to see a little more of the locale, Padstow Harbour is only a quarter of an hour's walk away and there's a wide choice of seafood restaurants to be discovered nearby, too. This being Cornwall, you can rest assured that there are some beautiful beaches close by, too – Trevone Bay is just over five minutes' drive away, for instance.

It's fair to say that this Cornish farmhouse and piggery has undergone quite the transformation. Inside, guests will find a pleasing mix of wooden floorboards, grey tiling and the odd burst of refreshing blue on the walls. There are nods to the buildings' former purpose in the shape of the gleaming white Aga in the kitchen and the log-burner in the living room, but otherwise, it's a thoroughly modern affair. Outside, there's a Scandi-style, wood-fired hot tub to see you through the evenings, as well as a barbecue and plenty of outdoor seating on which to lounge back and enjoy the silence that abounds in this corner of England. Although the home's location feels secluded, there's plenty to keep you occupied during your stay — both the town of Padstow and the Eden Project take only twenty-five minutes to reach in the car.

Located on a ‘no through’ country lane, you’ll feel away from it all while still enjoying plenty of sights nearby.
The home’s courtyard garden is the ideal spot for sunny breakfasts and starlit barbecue feasts, while inside, the living room’s cosy wood-burning fireplace and comfortable nautical-themed bedrooms provide all the rest, relaxation and low-level hibernation you need. 
While the cottage provides a sense of calm you’ll relish making the most of, there’s plenty to do nearby, not least of all a visit to the local country pub, just two minutes down the road. Further afield, beautiful Port Isaac, Trebarwith Beach and Trebarwith Beach are all a thirteen-minute drive away, Tintagel Castle is a twenty-minute drive and the wild expanses of Bodmin Moor are thirty minutes away by car.

Spend idyllic days in the Cornish countryside when you stay at this recently converted barn, situated a twelve-minute drive from beautiful Padstow. Enjoy long walks on the South West Coast Path – the cliff tops at Park Head offer incredible views across to the sea stacks at Bedruthan Steps (a ten-minute ride away). Back at this wonderful barn – it's perfect for a family or a group of friends looking for a tranquil retreat. Inside, we were blown away by the rustic charm mixed with elegant modernism. We love the Delabole slate bathrooms, exposed stone walls and vaulted beams throughout this home. In fact, this place has been designed with socialising and entertaining in mind – it's a great space to spend quality time together. On chillier days, curl up in front of the cosy wood-burning stoves in the living room or den and settle in for an evening of board games with the family. There are four acres of grounds to explore here, including orchards and wildflower meadows. There's even an outdoor shower, so you can rinse off after visiting the beach – your lovely hosts have really thought of everything here.  Our favourite spot in the garden has to be the magical summerhouse – savour the spectacular views that stretch to the Atlantic Ocean or recline on the day bed and read a book. It's just one of the many fantastic features that make this home so very special.

Situated in a quiet hamlet in the picturesque Cornish countryside, this home truly is an escape from the hustle and bustle. Outside you'll find unspoilt views of the rural scenery, and there's no better spot to take it all in than the private Scandinavian-style wood-fired hot tub. End your evenings with a soak under the stars – it's the perfect way to relax after a day filled with adventures. There's a lot to love inside, too – curl up with a book in front of the wood burner, rustle up a scrumptious meal on the traditional Aga in the kitchen and, when your feet are tired and legs weary, retreat to the comfortable and cosy bedrooms for some much-needed shut-eye. Only a half-hour drive from the coast and the beaches, you're not far from the action. Fill your days with hiking the coastal paths, surfing the waves and exploring the many villages and small towns that North Cornwall is known for – both Wadebridge and Bodmin are less than twenty minutes away by car, while Padstow is just a little further, about a thirty-minute drive.

Situated within the valley of Dunmere, this converted dairy barn is a peaceful base from which couples can explore all that Cornwall has to offer. It's only a five-minute walk or three-minute cycle from the renowned Camel Trail cycling route. A ten-minute drive will take you to the A30, which runs right down the centre of Cornwall, meaning many picturesque beaches and harbour towns are all within a day trip's reach. The River Camel runs through the valley and is accessible to guests who can also fish on the private land here.

Although there are extensive grounds to roam, the home also offers its own enclosed patio for visitors to enjoy – perfect for an alfresco lunch or sunset glass of wine. With its wood burner, this beautiful stone-built barn is a cosy retreat for those looking for an escape from urban life, offering a warm welcome after a long day spent exploring. We especially love the bedroom with its vaulted ceilings and white painted beams – it's a beautiful space to start the day in.

In the popular foodie town of Padstow, this terraced home is a 10 minutes’ walk away from the harbour and a 5 minutes’ walk from the popular hiking trails Saint’s Way and Camel Trail. Families will have plenty to entertain them – the lounge comes stocked with board games, books and Blu-ray DVDs as well as a DAB radio and Bluetooth sound system. Dinner is made easy by the electric oven and gas hob in the kitchen, though you’ll also want to check out the town’s famous seafood restaurants. On summer evenings when the light lasts until late, unwind on the terrace with a bottle of sparkling wine.

Once part of the Lanhydrock Estate, this recently converted barn sports a contemporary look and plenty of modern comforts without losing any of its traditional charm. Original timber beams and exposed stone walls hark back to the barn's heyday, but the electric car charging point, rainfall shower and Sonos speakers are just a few of the 21st-century updates. This is the perfect spot for a family to unwind in the Cornish countryside. While parents rustle up a meal in the kitchen, kids can hang out in their own room, playing on the Xbox One. On summer evenings, everyone will enjoy a barbecue in the courtyard before retreating inside to the cosy living area for a movie night, but when the weather turns nippy, cuddle up by the log burner instead. There's plenty to get up to in the local area, too. You're almost equidistant from both the North and South coasts of Cornwall. Spend a day at the beach in Padstow or visit historic Charlestown, both of which are less than a forty-minute drive away. For those who enjoy long country ambles, Cardinham Woods is just five miles away and offers plenty of walking and cycling trails. After a stroll in the fresh air, finish the day with a coffee at the pet-friendly woodland cafe or a pint at one of the pubs in nearby Bodmin.

You couldn't ask for a better location for this seaside eco-lodge retreat. Nestled within peaceful farmlands, you'll find five of north Cornwall's most popular sandy beaches within five miles of your door –⁠ starting with Mawgan Porth, just a twenty-minute stroll away.

Follow the woodland path down to the local beach for sandcastle-making, picnics, and, if you time the tide right, surfing – there's a surf school with all the gear. Take a jaunt over to Padstow a twenty-minute drive away and mooch about the shops. Or just hang out back at the farm for the day. Kids will love feeding the chickens and the resident pony. At nightfall, cuddle up under the night sky and catch a shooting star. Located within the Carnewas and Bedruthan Steps dark sky area, stargazing doesn't get much better.

When it's finally time to retreat indoors, the lofty gabled roof, floor-to-ceiling windows, and pristine interiors make quite the first impression. Cuddle up beside the wood burner fire for movie nights – the underfloor heating powered by renewal energy keeps things toasty.

Kids and adults alike will be enchanted by this cottage nestled in the rolling green countryside. With a range of excellent amenities and plenty of space to enjoy, it's a great pick at any time of year. 

The soothing interior, cloaked in blue tones and natural textures, is a haven where you can truly relax. Fire up the wood-burner on chilly evenings and curl up with a good movie. And, on sunny days, you'll be delighted that there's a large lawn where the kids can play while you sit at the picnic table with a cool drink and breathe in the fresh air. 

This home is in an excellent location for you to explore the world-famous Cornish coastline. The popular town of Newquay, renowned for its surfer community, is just a fifteen-minute drive away, and there are several beaches to explore from sandy shorelines to hidden coves. Mawgan Porth beach is a leisurely twenty-minute stroll from the home – on your way back why not enjoy a trip to the village pub? For the adrenaline fans among you, try your hand at cycling, hiking, wild swimming or kayaking in the local area.
