It's impossible to miss the eye-catching, triangular building that houses this seaside home. The dark blue structure boasts one of the best views over the bay, and its unique design is one of our favourites in town. Split between two bright bedrooms and an open-plan living room that extends to the balcony, this home is an excellent option for a first visit to Devon. When you're ready to head out, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the variety of things on offer in  Brixham – including beautiful art galleries, fantastic restaurants, great bars, and plenty of water-based activities. Wake up early and head down to the world-famous Brixham Fish Market for fresh fish landed just twenty metres away. If you want to get away from it all, walk along the coast to the shingle beach at Fishcombe Cove or take the car along the coast to find a secluded stretch of sand. Alternatively, head to the colourful village of Kingswear – a fifteen-minute drive away – before boarding the ferry over to picturesque Dartmouth. After a day out exploring, head home for that sumptuous fish supper and watch a movie by the fire. Finally, drift off in the comfortable and quiet bedrooms, ensuring a great night's sleep to prepare you for another day of holiday joy.

Aquamarine Heights

Located in the village of Kingswear – just across the River Dart from Dartmouth – this beautiful reverse level home offers breathtaking views of the river and Dartmouth from every angle. 
Laid out over two floors, there’s plenty of space for relaxed socialising as well as room to enjoy quiet moments alone while feasting on splendid natural vistas. 
Upstairs, the living room invites you to kick back on its sofa or armchairs with a glass of wine while enjoying the fresh breeze coming off of Waterhead Creek through the open glass doors. In the evenings, there’s an electric fireplace here too for added ambience, while the dining room invites celebratory feasts aplenty while gazing out over the ships sailing in and out of Dartmouth Harbour. 
For the best views of all, however, step out onto the private terrace where an outdoor table beckons sunny alfresco breakfasts and evening drinks on the sofa as the sun sets over the river.
There’s access to this privileged spot from the second bedroom too, while the main bedroom boasts a beautiful Juliet balcony. 
Outside of your home, the Dartmouth Steam Railway is a seven-minute walk away, Man Sands beach is a thirteen-minute drive and Dartmouth is easily reached by ferry, a nine-minute stroll from your door. 


Port Charm

Located in the centre of Dartmouth and set within one of the town’s oldest and most characterful buildings, this beautifully renovated apartment puts you in an ideal position to get the most out of this Devonshire beauty spot. Though the building’s exterior looks Tudor in style, you’ll have nothing but modern comforts once inside. 
Make yourself comfortable on the living room’s sofa or wingback chair and watch the sunlight pour in through the large windows creating a kaleidoscope of dazzling colours. We love the kitchen’s sociable breakfast bar – ideal for starting the day over fresh coffee and locally bought pastries – and the dining table that invites intimate soirées after a day of exploring. The two bedrooms are elegantly dressed and offer a dreamy night’s sleep, while the bathroom’s freestanding tub beckons long soaks paired with a glass of bubbly. 
With plenty of welcome extras like underfloor heating, a rain shower as well as free parking in the nearby car park, you’re all set for a comfortable, carefree stay. 
When you’re ready to go out and explore, you’ve only got to step outside your door to be met with myriad shops and restaurants, while Dartmouth Harbour is a two-minute walk away. Dartmouth Castle is also easily reachable in twenty minutes on foot, Blackpool Sands is a ten-minute drive and Dartmoor National Park is just over thirty minutes away by car. 


Lady Fair

Taken completely on its own merits, this stone cottage is a perfectly charming place to stay in the Dart Valley. The design is fresh and contemporary, with cleansingly white walls, smart wooden floors and a minimalist kitchen complete with sleek surfaces and plenty of room for making a mess while you cook. Head out through the French doors and you'll also find a pretty courtyard space in which you can dine alfresco.

What really distinguishes this home from others of a similar size, however, is the huge range of facilities and amenities that guests can access. Lying within a large hotel complex, there's everything from a championship golf course and tennis courts to a spa area and an indoor swimming pool with which to fill up your afternoons. There's even a restaurant and bar on the site in case you want a night off from the stove.

Although there's more than enough to do within the estate, you're also spoilt for choice when it comes to distractions in the local area, too. Blackpool Sands is just under a quarter of an hour away in the car, while the village of Dittisham takes more like ten – it's possible to catch a ferry from here to Greenway, the former home of Agatha Christie.

To Your Heart's Content

We think this cute home on the south Devon coastline has the rustic cosiness of a beach hut, but with all the modern finesse demanded by today's holidaymakers. Inside, original wood flooring and the brick fireplace housing a wood-burner are particularly handsome features, but the real star of the show is the view of Brixham Harbour from the large windows in both the living room and bedrooms — pack your binoculars and you can watch fishing boats coming in and out of the bay. Around the other side of the home, there's a stone-walled back garden complete with a patio, alfresco seating area and a barbecue. We can totally understand if you're not in the mood to cook at any point and the nearby town of Brixham — only ten minutes or so away on foot — has plenty of seafood restaurants, as well as fish and chips shops and cosy pubs. In the other direction, Fishcombe Cove and Battery Gardens can be reached in the same amount of time, too.

First Light

With its sumptuous interiors and privileged position in the heart of Dartmouth, this home is a great base for exploring one of South Devon’s most enchanting towns and its surrounding countryside. Inside, a cosy seating area unfolds into a modern kitchen – we loved the glass ceiling and creamy neutral colour scheme. Head upstairs for quiet bedrooms which guarantee a peaceful night's sleep.

On warm afternoons, spill out onto the terrace for barbecues in the balmy sunshine. Or why not pack a picnic and enjoy a bite to eat in Coronation Park, a five-minute walk away. If you’d like to learn more about the local history, visit the Dartmouth Museum before exploring Bayard’s Cove Fort. 

And of course, no trip to southwest England would be complete without a day at the beach, so slap on your sun cream and make haste to the Blue Flag Award-winning Blackpool Sands, just a ten-minute drive from your doorstep.

Stickleback House

Upon the English Riviera, staying in the warm climate of the sophisticated town of Torquay feels like the equivalent of Cannes. Hop off a yacht at Torquay Marina and take an eighteen-minute stroll to this fabulous apartment, fit for any VIP. Upon arrival, your host will have a bottle of wine waiting for you. Before you even start exploring this modern flat, pour yourself a glass and say cheers to the start of the holiday. Do you like a home with a view? Because this one offers several. From its many large windows, you can spot the bay, beaches, harbours, the marina, and of course the big blue sea itself. On a sunny day, we recommend taking a bowl of olives and a chilled prosecco out to the private balcony – pop up the parasol if it gets too hot. Indoors, pristine white and cream interiors make the space feel fresh, with a mint-green sofa which you can sink into after a long day of beachside activities. South Devon might feel distinctly Mediterranean, but you’ll certainly enjoy ending the day with a refreshing cup of Earl Grey.

Pollock Palms

This seventeeth–century property overlooks the sparkling blue waters of the seaside town, Brixham. Situated next to the charming harbour, you're only a short stroll away from the waterside. Head up the three-tiered garden to admire the view from atop. You'll be greeted with clear skies, the hum of the waters, and the sounds of the harbour. 

The large windows throughout the home light up the space as you play on the vintage arcade table that offers the classical Space Invaders and Pacman. Whoever gets to sleep in the Captain's Cabin bedroom gets a gorgeous view of the surrounding harbour right from the comfort of their own bed – imagine waking up next to that blissful sight every morning.

The beautiful yet convenient location makes this the perfect place to reside on a family getaway to a seaside town. There's a fantastic selection of eateries by the harbour front as well as a cosy pub that serves delicious local produce. Wander the streets of Brixham to discover a ton of local hidden gems and treat yourself to sugary sweet treats and savory snacks.

Captain Curious

If ever there was a home that absorbs every inch of its surroundings, this is it. All parts of this home give a very distinct nod to the location, with a quirky, bold and brilliant nautical theme peppered throughout. We love the character this gives the home, and with that, you can simply take a deep breath, relax and smile. This is, without a doubt, a happy home.

Step inside, and you’re first greeted by the open-plan kitchen diner. Sleek and stylish, this is the perfect social space to cook up a meal in the evenings and gather to relive the day’s adventures – that is, if you’re not tempted by one of the many restaurants on your doorstep. Head up to the first floor, and you’ll find your living area and bathroom. Comfortable sofas await, along with quaint window seats. Just the spot for relaxing with a glass of wine. When the day draws to a close, head up to the second floor, where you can rest your weary head in your sumptuous bed, relax and recharge, ready for another day of exploring Dartmouth. 

Set in the heart of Dartmouth, this home is situated just off the shopping area of Foss Street and just a two-minute walk from the river. On the riverfront, you can enjoy Mitch Tonks ‘The Rockfish’ and ‘The Seahorse’ and if you’re craving the sands of the coast, it’s just ten minutes by car to the closest beach, Blackpool Sands. If you’re looking for a coastal getaway, this really is the home for you! 


Let Your Dreams Set Sail

Despite its small size, this studio apartment's proximity to Paignton's seafront gets full marks from us. The water is so close, you could practically reach out and touch it from the living area, making it the perfect spot to enjoy some sand, surf and Devon sunshine. 

We love how the coastal scenery is reflected in the sleek and stylish design. Yellow chairs invite you to kick back and relax with a glass of wine, admiring the views framed in the full-height windows. The compact but well-stocked kitchen is ideal for romantic dinners at home, while the lush rainfall shower is just the ticket after a balmy day by the sea. 

Of course, days here are best spent wandering along the traditional pier, snacking on fish and chips at Goodrington Sands and dipping your toes in Tor Bay. The beach is a mere 100 metres away, but if you're keen on exploring a bit further, you'll find the South West Coast Path, Torquay and Exeter are just a short journey by car.

Balmy & Clear

This is a barn conversion in which the standard of the renovation has been of such quality that it's nigh-on impossible to picture its functional past. Set in twenty-six acres of Devon countryside, the building has been given some hi-tech features, including a ground-source heating system and an intelligent lighting system, as well as a lot of large glass windows that make the space a lot brighter than could be expected of an old barn. Our favourite space has to be the mezzanine lounge, reached via a glass spiral staircase and with a skylight on one side that's perfect for stargazing. The large kitchen looks the picture of modernity, but there's an Aga in place for a touch of rusticness. Stepping outside, there's a large patio area complete with an alfresco dining table, barbecue and fire pit, so you can sit out here on summer evenings and bask in the spectacular view of Longcombe Valley. The medieval town of Totnes can be reached in seven minutes in the car and offers plenty of quaint shops and restaurants to explore. Paignton Beach is a seventeen-minute drive away, too.
