Offering a double bedroom and a twin, it’s perfect for kids – but everyone’s bound to love the balcony, where a small outdoor table awaits an alfresco meal or a light refreshment while taking in the sea view. When you’re ready to venture out, Bournemouth and its famous pier offer a trove of activities, while the town itself features beautiful gardens, a lively town centre, and its own stunning sandy beach.  

Southbourne Getaway

Looking for a beach holiday without the swarms of tourists? This is the perfect place. Located just minutes from Boscombe Beach and a short drive from Bournemouth, you're expertly placed for days lounging on by the water. 

Whilst the beach isn't completely private and secluded, it maintains a peaceful ambiance at all times. Lay your towel on the golden sands and enjoy an afternoon of sunbathing, punctuated by refreshing dips in the sea. If you wanted refreshments, many bars, restaurants and shops line the coastline. 

When you're out for the day, make sure to pick up some meats, vegetables and drinks to enjoy on the terrace. Sizzle the food on the BBQ and share your tipple of choice for a romantic evening. The experience is made more magical if it's illuminated by the gorgeous tones of sunset. 

For the nights when you just want to relax indoors, the stylish living space is a restful haven. Snuggle up on the sofa, entertained by a film on Amazon Prime, or just chat away on the dining table. There's also a dedicated workspace if you wanted to check some emails before bed.

Wise As An Owl

Set just a short stroll from Westbourne’s upmarket high street and only a five-minute drive from the golden sands of Bournemouth Beach, this modern maisonette offers a prime location for both coast and town. Exploring further afield along the coast or inland to the New Forest is a breeze, too, with private parking for two cars outside. However, you may be tempted to linger on the private decked terrace back at home instead. Surrounded by pine trees and strung with festoon lighting around a fire pit, it’s a fine spot for alfresco evenings. Inside, alongside the two elegant bedrooms (each with a private bathroom) upstairs, there’s also a sofa bed in the living room downstairs – perfect for families looking for a more flexible set-up.

Coastal Castle

Take your stay in Poole Quay up a notch at this penthouse with sweeping harbour views. While there’s a light-filled snug upstairs, the real highlight is the main living and dining area downstairs, opening onto a private sun deck that makes the most of the coastal vistas. If we were being fussy, some of the artwork may not be to everyone’s taste. But it’s a small detail in an otherwise outstanding home. Location-wise, Poole Quays’ harbour and high street are just moments from your door, and private parking is ready for trips along the Dorset Coast or into the New Forest.

Harbour View Place

Embrace the quiet life at this idyllic barn conversion in the heart of the New Forest. With wild ponies wandering not far from your doorstep, it’s easy to feel wonderfully off-grid here. But should you crave a change of pace, the charming village of Burley, with its cosy pubs and cafes, is just a mile’s stroll away. Back home, there are all the cottage-core essentials, including a wood-burning stove for winter nights and a fire pit and barbecue out on the private terrace for summer evenings. There’s also some unexpected luxuries – starting with that freestanding bathtub in the main bedroom for a long soak after hikes through the surrounding heathlands.

Woods Corner

In the vibrant coastal city of Bournemouth, you won’t just be keeping yourself busy with watersports and sunbathing, but galleries, theatres, and historic churches. Forget about beach life for a second and head further up into town, where you’ll find this luxurious flat just ten minutes from Bournemouth train station on foot. In an Edwardian building, this refurbished home is a distinguished and elegant base for exploring the delights of Dorset. We love the fabulous living space – antique and vintage furniture meets modern, industrial pieces in this eclectic room. The brick fireplace features a funky mirror in its hearth, the Ziegler rug plays host to a mid-century leather Barcelona chair and footstool, the white Chesterfield sofa and regency chaise longue are perfect for relaxing, and the reflection of the black wire chandelier can be seen in the ornate gilded mirror. You’re sure to be charmed by this home of sophisticated and exquisite contrasts. On a sunny morning, wake up to light from the huge, bay windows and head out for a wander. You’ll hit the beach in under thirty minutes, but we recommend taking the long way through town to discover cool local shops and great restaurants on Charminster Road. Further afield, the scenic New Forest is half an hour away in the car, and the exclusive Sandbanks peninsula can be reached in twenty.

King Edward

This Grade II listed home has bags of charm and a super slick and contemporary feel. In the heart of quaint Christchurch, the home has rich, inviting rooms, with modern and period features in equal measure. Everything about it feels luxurious, from the colour palette to the flawless bathrooms, complete with a freestanding bathtub and gorgeous showers to recharge in. The bedrooms are kitted out with hotel-level beds and superior linens. You can walk to the beach or town centre in less than twenty minutes, giving you unfeigned freedom for your holiday. The gorgeous beach radiates underneath the summer sun, perfect for lazy days sunbathing on the golden sand.

If you're more of a city dweller than beach bum, head to the copious cafes, bars and restaurants that shape the centre. Enjoy your morning coffee at an authentic cafe, peruse the shops in the afternoon then settle down for dinner in the evening. The town welcomes you take the day at your own pace.

This home is the perfect base for a family or group of friends looking to enjoy luxury, privacy and the beautiful coast on a Dorset holiday. Stroll through the garden, set on just under an acre of tree-lined land, where you’ll have your choice of long days spent poolside and lazy lunches prepared with ease on the barbecue. We absolutely love the dynamic bi-fold doors that seamlessly connect the dreamy garden to the dining and living rooms – enjoy the greenery with a breakfast spread and fresh air, or settle on the couch with an afternoon read as the rest of the family enjoys the pool, hot tub and lawn. The kitchen is large, complete with a marble island that makes your culinary vision easy to execute, and on chillier nights, shut the doors and turn the fireplace up as you snuggle in for movie night. Finally, end your days with a lush soak in the oval tub. The bedrooms are neutral-toned and welcoming, ideal for restful nights of sleep. And when it’s time to explore, Canford Cliffs is a thirteen-minute drive away, while you can be on the sandy beach with just a five-minute drive or eighteen-minute walk. 

Tree Tones

An elegant apartment by the sea, this home in Swanage is just a few minutes' walk from the seafront. Set in an attractive Victorian building, it's a perfect retreat for a couple or a solo traveller, and with its period features and Boho styling, it's bound to appeal to the romantic in you. 

Tall ceilings, sash windows, oak floorboards and chandeliers are the order of the day here, along with all-white decor and pops of colourful modern art. There's a squashy sofa in the cosy living room, and a well-kitted-out, modern kitchen if you'll be cooking at home. But it's the bedroom we really love here, with its vintage rattan headboard and French vintage furniture.

The Swan's Feather

Hello, harbour views. This contemporary flat perched right on Poole's bustling quayside is the epitome of coastal living. The private balcony is a dream come true, and we bet you'll spend every spare moment admiring the scenery. Rise with the sun and enjoy a cup of coffee alfresco, watching as the ships bob in the water. For lunch, nibble on the local treats left in the welcome basket before toasting your arrival with a glass of white wine as the sun goes down.

When you're not lolling about on the balcony, the light-filled interior is just the ticket after long day exploring Dorset. Make yourself comfortable on the sumptuous cream sofas – perfect for snuggling up for at-home movie nights – or rustle up dinner using fresh-caught seafood in the shiny kitchen. Stylish elements like rattan dining chairs and seaside curios add to the beachy-keen atmosphere, so if living by the sea is what you crave, you can't go wrong. 

Poole Quay is literally on your doorstep, so maritime activities like boat journeys, fishing excursions and trips to the National Trust's Brownsea Island are all within easy reach. Stroll along the waterfront path or pedestrianised high street in search of shops, restaurants and pubs before making the thirteen-minute drive to Sandbanks Beach and spending the afternoon sprawled out in the sand and swimming in the ocean.

Steering for the Open Blue

Where do we start with this home – both the apartment and the location are excellent. Firstly, it’s just a 50-metre stroll across West Cliff Green to the beach steps making this the perfect base for a family-friendly holiday by the sea. There are an array of restaurants and bars within walking distance whilst Bournemouth Pier and the town centre are also accessible by foot. We love the sea views from this place’s private garden and who wouldn’t want to dine or relax in the light-filled conservatory? If you’re a group of eight, then two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living space, but it’s a spacious room. What a great find this is.
