A stone’s throw from Camber Sands, this stylish home takes beach shack to glamorous new heights, making it the perfect coastal retreat for friendly get-togethers and extended families. 

The interior is characterfully designed using reclaimed and antique materials, offering a revitalised version of seaside chic. The host is evidently a fan of up-cycling – look out for creative touches such as repurposed doors, stain-glass windows and rustic radiators. We especially love the wood-panelled walls and flooring that shape the space as a whole, while the comfortable furnishings, neutral tones and wood-burning stove keep things cosy. 

Here, as much attention has been paid to comfort as it has to style – drift off to sleep beneath Egyptian cotton bed linen or relax on leather sofas in the sitting room. But, don’t spend too much time inside as this home is close to an expansive sandy beach. Enjoy exclusive use of a private “No Through” sandy road, with access only to residents, and walk to the sand dunes in two minutes. End the day with early-evening sundowners on the front porch, sharing anecdotes and listening to the waves lapping in and out of the shore, before heading into the local village for a spot of traditional pub grub, five minutes away on foot. 

Camber Sands

This converted barn packs a real punch. You'll find it nestled among the rolling hills in the High Weald AONB, just a stone's throw from Rye, Iden, and the Kent coastline. We love the garden, where you can unwind with a tipple and admire the scenery. Feeling sporty? The shared tennis courts are ideal for a mid-afternoon game. Inside, the design is contemporary, cosy, and just the right amount of quirky. The purple banquette is perfect for breakfasts, while evenings are best spent curled up with a book in one of the squishy armchairs. You’ll feel right at home here.

Weald Whimsy

Overlooking the beautiful Pevensey Bay Beach – this fabulous home makes for the perfect family seaside getaway. Dine alfresco or relax with a glass of Sussex wine in the swing seat as you take in the sublime views of the beach and sea. Inside, those vistas are just as good from the living space.

This home has been designed for comfort with its faux fur throws and soft velvet sofas. We love the sumptuous master suite with its botanical wallpaper and chiffon drapes over the four-poster bed. We can imagine opening the shutters and doors in the morning and listening to the sound of the waves – pure heaven.

After breakfast, walk from the end of your garden (under 40 yards) onto Pevensey Bay Beach and do some beachcombing. Or take some classes with the local sailing club. Pevensey Bay is known as William of Normandy's landing place in 1066 – take a six-minute drive to historical Pevensey Castle or explore the village, just four minutes in the car (a thirty-minute stroll). Further afield, Eastbourne, with its 19th-century pier and Towner Art Gallery, is under a twenty-minute ride.



Pevensey Bay Beaut

While the grand spaces and classically decorated rooms of this historic estate in the rolling East Sussex landscape speak for themselves, we can come up with a few more reasons to choose to live your next country escape as the lord or lady of this manor. Expansive views of quintessential English meadows will greet you all year round, though in spring, a sea of bluebells in the surrounding woods makes it an even more attractive proposition. In summer, a heated pool and tennis court provide plenty of opportunities for outdoor enjoyment. An autumn escape in East Sussex is all about long country walks – admiring the changing colours of nature – followed by a visit to a centuries-old pub. A group planning a winter escape will find refuge in the manor's many cosy corners, and can look forward to evenings of chatter by open fires and a lavish meals in the elegant 
wood-panelled dining room. Just make sure to nominate the group's chef and grand piano player in advance.

The Custom Of The Country

A breezy stroll from the town of Rye and a ten-minute drive from Camber Sands, this 70s-inspired home has been featured in magazines and on the BBC. The bedrooms are on the first floor, each boasting retro-style murals and vintage furniture. With a private gate leading to the River Rother, this home is well-placed for walks along the water. The garden has more than enough space for alfresco dining, as well as a dedicated lounge area for evening drinks and socialising. While there's plenty of parking, you'll find vineyards, restaurants, shops, and public transport are all within walking distance. Plus, Brighton and London are only a train ride away.

Retro on the River

Tucked away in the historic heart of Rye, this apartment makes a sleek base for coastal escapes. The open-plan living space invites slow mornings and evenings with a glass of wine, while the compact kitchen is well-equipped. After a day spent wandering cobbled lanes or exploring nearby Camber Sands, return for a hot soak. With pubs, galleries, and restaurants just steps away, this spot puts you within easy reach of Rye’s charm and the coast beyond.

Seaglass Loft

Surrounded by beautiful countryside – this cottage is nestled within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy in the area, including walking, hiking, and cycling. You can also visit the nearby towns of Rye and Hastings. We love the views over the countryside from this four-level home and the garden is the perfect spot to soak up the Sussex sun. There’s a wood-burning stove for when the weather turns chilly, too. This is a perfect base for a family holiday.

East Sussex Escape

Just a ten-minute stroll from the heart of St Leonards-on-Sea, this home is ideally placed for a refreshing coastal break. You can enjoy strolls along the seafront, browse local independent shops and spend cosy evenings in local pubs. And while you’ll find everything you could need in easy reach, it’s also a great base for exploring East Sussex. Wherever the day takes you, this home makes it easy to switch off and unwind. The room are simple, fresh and family friendly. There’s also a garden with outdoor seating for warm weather drinks. 


Shore Haven

Positioned directly on Dungeness's public beach, this former foghorn testing station has been fully renovated into a unique getaway for two. The nearby lighthouse's foghorn still works, although we much prefer the idea of waking up to the sound of the waves and seagulls. The sea is literally on your doorstep, and huge glass doors and a small terrace maximise the idyllic views. It's more of a studio than a one-bed, but we like the single-level layout. Although phone signal is patchy here and there's no proper TV, there is wi-fi for remote working and streaming. That said, the Bose speaker system, wood burner and teak bathtub are all you need to truly unwind. 

The Fog Signalling Building 

A gorgeous “chocolate box” thatch cottage nestled in rolling Kent countryside, this home looks like it's been pulled straight out of a fairy tale – complete with charming 15th-century beams, opulent furnishings, and brightly coloured flower beds.  

However, don’t let its rustic charms fool you, this cottage is delightfully cosy and luxurious. Start your day dining in the conservatory while you observe the beautiful gardens outside. However, although you're peacefully secluded, you’re still within range of sights aplenty. 

Shop at beautiful market town Tenterden, which is known as the Jewel of the Weald, and is only a ten-minute drive away. Or reconnect with nature at the wild Romney Marshes, less than twenty minutes away by car. Meanwhile, you can taste wines at the vineyard Gusbourne Estate – less than ten minutes away on foot 

And when you retreat back home, languish in the glowing hot tub, which is elevated to help you take in even more of those beautiful sunsets. Inside, you can settle back in the electric reclining sofa with a glass of local wine and a good book.




Neptune & Rose

This cottage, set within a secluded location on the edge of Wittersham, is a serene retreat for a family gathering. The modern country-style interiors are inviting, while the ground-floor layout makes it accessible to all. There’s plenty of space here, including room for your four-legged friend, to unwind in the garden or the cosy living room next to the fire. Ready to explore? Overlooking fields and woodland, you’ll find grassy tracks directly off your doorstep, though if you feel like a more challenging hike, head to Smallhythe Place or Brockhill Country Park.


The White Roses

You’ll find this well-kept apartment in the heart of historic Rye, where cobbled lanes are flanked by medieval, half-timbered houses and hidden side streets give way to distant views across Rodney Marsh. You are mere footsteps from a number of traditional pubs, contemporary restaurants serving farm-to-table produce and just a ten-minute stroll to the Rye Castle Museum. If you’re feeling up to it, you can reach Camber Sands in just over an hour by foot or a ten-minute drive in the car. Back at home, a living space that’s equal parts stylish and cosy calls for cups of tea in front of the fire. And when it’s time to head for the land of nod, an inviting bedroom finished in soothing coastal tones awaits.
