This honey-coloured home opens its doors to a refreshing Cotswolds escape. Tucked away in the village of Blockley, you can walk to the local pub and you’ll find easy access to hiking trails across the countryside. Street parking is available and you’ll have access to two outdoor patios – perfect for lazy summer afternoons. Inside, the reception rooms provide everything you could need for cosy evenings at home. It’s worth noting there are three floors here with steep stairs, but overall it’s a great option for families with the sweet addition of bunk beds in the second bedroom.

Cotswold Sun

Nestled in the Cotswold village of Blockley, this cottage boasts countryside views and walks from its doorstep, making it the perfect pick for those who love the great outdoors. The country kitchen will help you tackle some culinary creations, but with two pubs and a cafe in the village serving up delicious food, dining out is a must. And the cherry on the cake for us? All seasons are covered here. So, after a day of hiking, enjoy cosy winter evenings by the wood burner or alfresco summer meals in the quaint garden – both perfect ways to end the day. 

Cotswold Blush

A cosy and relaxing base ideal for couples, this home has heaps of appeal. The Cotswold stone cottage is close to the High Street of the peaceful village of Blockley, within easy reach of Broadway, Chipping Campden, and much of the beautiful Cotswolds. The Grade II listed home is full of charm and features a wood-burning stove and a slipper bathtub – the ideal place to unwind after a long hike. You’ll also have access to a terrace where you can sip your morning cuppa in total peace and quiet. 

The Heart of the Cotswolds

Located in the heart of Chipping Campden, with tea rooms, pubs and shops on the doorstep, this dog-friendly apartment is perfect for friends and family. If you’re keen to explore the wider Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water are within a thirty-minute drive. Inside, there’s a cosy sitting room overlooking the High Street and a convivial kitchen-diner. Just so you know, the staircase is narrow, and you may need to watch your head on the low beams and sloped ceilings.

A Country Song

You’ll find this renovated church in the village of Paxford, an ideal base from which to explore the Cotswolds. It may not be suitable for children due to the staircase design and historic fixtures throughout the home, but it offers a relaxing retreat for four guests. The mezzanine bedroom is impressive, if lacking a little in privacy, and offers a different perspective of the interiors of this historic building. And with hiking trails on its doorstep, you can be out soaking up the great outdoors in no time. 

The Flintstone

You’ll find this holiday home in Blockley village, in the heart of the Cotswolds. It’s just a ten-minute drive from Moreton-in-Marsh and is within easy reach of Broadway too. Ideal for hikers, Blockley is a great starting-out point for many country walks. The home itself has a country-cottage feel, with exposed beams and a cosy and comfortable vibe. The gardens are shared with the other homes on the development, and Brockley Brook runs along the edge of them, so little ones and pets will need to be supervised. You’ll have your own private patio though. 

Brook & Birdsong

With a terrace offering up a vista of the rolling north Cotswolds, it won't be a mystery why we added this home to our collection. Previously a home for silk mill workers, we loved how homely the space is – start a roaring fire in the inglenook fireplace (made with local stone, no less) and relax after a long hike or a short stroll through the local village. In the garden, the alfresco dining area is perfect for afternoon tea, while the sun loungers let you take in the view in-between naps. For dinner, you've got several pubs within a short walk here.

The Lark & The Rose

Tucked away in the quiet village of Blockley, this cottage provides a memorable stay in the Cotswolds. With flexible sleeping arrangements and travel cots available, this place is ideal for a multigenerational family or a group of friends. There are two kitchens here, providing plenty of space for home cooking, and the garden is furnished for enjoying meals alfresco. Walking trails are on the doorstep, but if you fancy a day trip, Stratford-upon-Avon is less than a thirty-five-minute drive away.

Rose Jam

Situated in a quiet Cotswold village, with sweeping views across a deer park and the picturesque Blockley Valley, this home will appeal to those wanting a taste of country living. While the traditional decor feels dated in places, the home has lots of characterful features. You’ll find a community-run shop, cafe, and two pubs within walking distance, and there are plenty of hiking routes on your doorstep. And when you’re ready to explore, jump in the car to discover some of the honey-coloured stone architecture and idyllic villages that the Cotswolds is famous for.

Stone Swifts

There's something to satisfy everyone's wanderlust at this charming period cottage nestled right in the beating heart of Chipping Campden. This is your gateway to the best of the Cotswolds – Market Hall, The Spa at Cotswold House and Chipping Campden's bustling high street are all within walking distance. And when it's time to explore further afield, jump in the car and you can be in the chocolate-box villages of Bourton-on-the Water and Stow-on-the-Wold in fifteen minutes flat. 

Back at this cosy home away from home, exposed Cotswold stone walls, higgledy-piggledy beams and a crackling wood-burning stove bring all the charm. While we liked the comfortable bedrooms and sparkling bathrooms, what really blew us away was the impressive kitchen and dining area. It's the true hub of the home, with plenty of room to cook and dine together. We can easily imagine mornings here, the French doors open wide as you sip coffee on the patio and tuck into a lazy breakfast around the dining table. We also loved the techy extras, like nest heating, electronic locks and Google Home Bluetooth speakers. With the occasional bleat from the neighbouring sheep your only distraction, it doesn't get much more charming than this.

A true recipient of the Plum Award, this home has also received the Green Tourism Silver Award, in recognition of this host's dedication to green initiatives such as energy and water efficiency and mindful waste reduction. Your host can share recommendations on local farmers markets and shops selling locally-sourced food, as well as eco-friendly activities such as cycling routes and nature trails to help you enjoy your stay in Chipping Campden, all the while reducing your carbon footprint. It's a win-win.

The Cotswold Way

This Cotswold cottage is bursting with bucolic charm, but we’d expect nothing less from a home tucked away in the postcard-pretty market town of Chipping Campden. Step out from the cottage’s honey-stoned façade, and you’ll discover history-rich architecture, traditional inns, and bustling shops on your doorstep.
 
Though you may find all the old-world charm you’re chasing right here at home. Dating back to the 17th century, the cottage oozes character from every nook and cranny, with exposed stone walls, wooden beams and floorboards, mullion windows, and flagstone flooring aplenty. There’s the obligatory wood-burning stove in the sitting room for winter nights and a bookcase stuffed with classics for cosy evenings in the study. However, that showstopper of a kitchen and dining room may come as a surprise. Flooded with natural light, thanks to the bifold patio doors and skylights in the lofty gabled ceilings, the tasteful extension feels firmly planted in the 21st century. Open the patio doors wide for little ones and furry friends alike to explore the meandering walled garden reaching some hundred feet. Meanwhile, others can rustle up dinner in the made-for-action kitchen, complete with a range cooker, coffee pod machine, and dual-temperature wine fridge. Or fire up the barbecue on the terrace – on a long summer evening, it’s a fine spot to be.

Every Nook & Cranny

Partly dating back to the 12th century and previously a chapel, the gardens of this home look out over the former church in this peaceful hamlet. Quintessentially Cotswolds, it's built from local stone and is packed with character details, from ancient ceiling beams to the exposed stonework of the chancel and nave. It's set in pretty, private gardens and it even has log burners in both the living room and the dining room.

Just the right size for a family or a small group of friends, it's a delightful escape to the country, with elegant furnishings and a calm, comfy feel. We love the oak floors and dual aspect of the living room, and the rustic inglenook fireplace behind the dining table. Complete with a country kitchen, a study and a downstairs shower room, the home's spacious ground floor opens to a sunny patio and lawned gardens – perfect for summer barbecues. Meanwhile, the all-white bedrooms have vaulted ceilings and loads of period charm, and there's a second bathroom.

From this spot, it's easy to explore the Cotswolds, with Moreton-in-Marsh just a couple of minutes away by car and Stow-on-the-Wold around fifteen minutes. Country walks on your doorstep include circular routes from Batsford Arboretum to the village of Blockley, plus there's a pub stop on the way.
