Built in the 18th century, it's hard to believe this pretty Cotswolds cottage was once the village police station. Now beautifully modernised, it's a great choice for a family gathering. With all the country walks you could dream of on your doorstep, it's also super convenient – just a five-minute walk from the village shop, cafe and pub in Blockley. Set over three floors and built of the same traditional stone you'll see across the road at the local church, it's a striking building with black-framed, arched windows. Inside, the period features continue with beamed ceilings, wood floors and some exposed stone walls. We especially love the log burning stove in the fireplace opening between the living room and dining room. Extended to the rear, there's a stunning kitchen with a huge roof lantern bringing light in. With a country feel but modern appliances and underfloor heating, it's the best of both worlds. Elsewhere, bedrooms are comfortable and effortlessly stylish. The top floor bedroom is our favourite, with its beautiful bed, sloping ceiling and luxury bathroom. On sunny days, heat up the barbecue and enjoy your meal on the terrace, or step into the table tennis room in the garden and play a few games while dinner cooks. Here you'll be just a twelve-minute drive from Stow-on-the-Wold.

A Field in Bloom

An idyllic 18th-century cottage in the heart of the Cotswolds. Set over three floors, this charming home is where sloped ceilings, limestone floors, exposed beams and a brick hearth meet contemporary altercations in elegant fashion. Knock up a hearty homemade meal in the classic country-style kitchen to be enjoyed around the old oak dining table, before losing yourself in a good book by the crackling fire. Spend warmer evenings in the sunny courtyard area at the rear of the cottage. With its beautiful Acer tree and a dining table for four, we can't imagine a lovelier spot to relax with a glass of chilled wine. When you do peel yourself away from home, Stow-on-the-Wold is a six-minute drive away, but the real gems are the village pub and picturesque green, just a five-minute wander up the road. 

The Garden of Tranquillity

You’ll find this charming cottage in Lower Slaughter, providing an ideal base from which to explore the beauty of the Cotswolds. Inside, the home is packed full of old school charm, but it’s the outdoor space that caught our eye. Vast lawns give way to pretty flowerbeds, and there are cosy seating areas to dine or simply kick back with a good book. Locally, there are plenty of walks to enjoy through Lower Slaughter that run along the River Eye, along with a village pub serving delicious meals. Within easy reach, you’ll also find Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford – all much deserving of a visit. 

The Cotswold Idyll

Tucked in the historic village of Kingham, this home perfectly embodies the charm of the Cotswolds. You’ll be welcomed by a serene garden and cosy rooms with plenty of space to stretch out and spend quality time together. Two of the bedrooms are located on the ground floor, while the first-floor bedroom provides a snug hideaway for younger guests. Private parking is available for one car and you’ll find two of the regions most loved pubs within walking distance. It’s also just a short drive to Daylesford Organic farm shop, Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Norton. 

Light of Lavender

This home's architecture, interiors and refined furnishings all share a charming rural feel, but its five acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, filled with topiary, sculptures and lily-padded ponds, tell the tale of Granada's ancient Alhambra fortress. It's a design paradox that we just love. Set in the quaint village of Kingham, there's plenty of great pubs, restaurants and woodland footpaths nearby – you're perfectly placed for exploring the sprawling Cotswolds from this pretty cottage. Upon arrival, recharge your batteries with a hearty meal in the bright and airy dining area, benefitting from soaring ceilings and windows that flood the room with light. Cosy up with a good book around the exposed stone hearth fireplace or knock up few light bites in the modern kitchen with exposed beams overhead. While its rustic features add interest, the heated indoor pool and Turkish Hammam really steal the show – treat yourself to a morning dip, before exploring the gardens or sporting your finest whites on the tennis court. With so much to see and do around the home, we just know you'll run out of time at this peaceful oasis. 

Alhambra

When you think of the Cotswolds, chances are you picture chocolate-box villages, cobbled lanes and that famous honey-coloured stone. Stow-on-the-Wold promises all that and more. It's home to chic restaurants, traditional inns, cosy pubs and plenty of independent shops ripe for browsing. With countryside walks on your doorstep and many Cotswolds attractions within driving distance, this is a desirable place to be – and we absolutely adore this cottage, which is smack-dab in the centre of town. Once an antique showroom, this inviting homestead is now filled with local artwork – including paintings by the host's grandfather – as well as The Cotswold Company furniture and every amenity you can think of. Snuggle up with a book in front of the wood-burner, challenge the family to a board game around the dining table or relax with a soak in the sumptuous master bathtub. The private courtyard is the perfect spot to savour a cup of tea or a cocktail in the sun. In the evenings, light the barbecue and enjoy an alfresco meal, gathering around the fire pit for toasted marshmallows when the air turns chilly. 

Host Susy goes above and beyond, providing everything you'll need, be it a complete dinner set and kitchen loaded with appliances and crockery to the luxury toiletries in the bathrooms. She can even arrange restaurant reservations and has a whole slew of recommendations, so you'll be in excellent hands.

The Robins & The Roses

Perfectly placed for exploring the best of the North Cotswolds, this peaceful cottage is as charming as its surroundings. Wake to garden views and fresh pastries from the village bakery, then head out to explore nearby Stow-on-the-Wold. Back at home, the open-plan living area is made for together time, prepare supper in the kitchen, then settle by the wood-burning fire with a glass of red. Upstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms with traditional touches. Outside, the garden is an ideal spot for alfresco meals and morning coffee. With space for two well-behaved dogs, this cottage offers a warm, relaxed base for country rambles. 

Cotswold Wisteria

If you’re looking for an easy-going stay in the Cotswolds, this cottage in the village of Moreton-in-Marsh is just the ticket. The Horse & Groom pub is only a three-minute walk away, and you’ll reach Daylesford and Stow-on-the-Wold in no more than five minutes by car. From the Aga in the kitchen for cooking hearty meals in the cooler months to the private patio for alfresco dining in the summer, this is a comfortable base all year round for a small family or close-knit group of friends.

Country Bliss

Nestled in the picturesque hillside village of Bourton on the Hill, this country cottage is a charming spot to stay in the Cotswolds. There’s a warm and welcoming living space, complete with wood-burning stove for chilly evenings, and a well-appointed kitchen for making your favourite meals. You’ll also love the luxurious roll-top bath in the downstairs bathroom, and the cosy bedrooms tucked under the eaves. Countryside retreats don’t come more charming than this Cotswold stone cottage nestled away in Kingham, one of the Cotswold’s prettiest villages. Inside, you’ll find elegant living spaces, with bifold doors opening out onto a suntrap terrace and established private garden. A flagstone, open-plan kitchen with an Aga cooker at its heart - there’s a conventional oven as well if you’d rather keep things simple. And upstairs, spacious bedrooms spread out over two floors to give a real sense of space. And amidst all this charm, there are a few unexpected surprises too. Downstairs, you’ll find a cosy basement room - perfect for movie time, with games and toys that kids (and big kids will love). And things keep on getting better outside in the shared grounds of this home, with a stunning shared indoor pool, a Hamman, and five acres of manicured gardens complete with a Moorish-inspired pavilion garden. You’ll also have access to a terrace where you can sip your morning cuppa in total peace and quiet.
