This home could not be better located. Right in the heart of Stow-on-the-Wold, you'll be mere moments away from the village's tea rooms, shops, and restaurants. With a provided parking space, you'll also be able to explore further afield – just note that it's only suitable for compact vehicles. The design back home is contemporary yet cosy. Everyone can relax together in the open-plan living space, while the two en-suite bedrooms offer privacy. There's also a small terrace ideal for summer sundowners – or better yet, head to the pub up the road for a nightcap.

With countryside walks on your doorstep and many Cotswolds attractions within driving distance, this is a desirable place to be – and we absolutely adore this cottage, which is smack-dab in the centre of town. Once an antique showroom, this inviting homestead is now filled with local artwork – including paintings by the host's grandfather – as well as The Cotswold Company furniture and every amenity you can think of. Snuggle up with a book in front of the wood-burner, challenge the family to a board game around the dining table or relax with a soak in the sumptuous master bathtub. The private courtyard is the perfect spot to savour a cup of tea or a cocktail in the sun. In the evenings, light the barbecue and enjoy an alfresco meal, gathering around the fire pit for toasted marshmallows when the air turns chilly.

Dating back to the sixteenth century, this traditional stone cottage in the Cotswolds is bursting with rustic charm. Plenty of period features remain, including the inglenook fireplace now home to a wood-burning stove and the vaulted ceilings complete with ceiling beams.

However, there have been plenty of home improvements made in the past half-millennium. The beautifully arranged garden is a prime example, with the pergola and patio making it a lovely spot to catch the golden hour. Back inside, the rather grand dining-kitchen area is a modern interpretation of rural design, while we're willing to bet you'll also be thankful for the sleek bathtub after a long ramble.

The local village of Longborough has a twelfth-century church, two pubs and an opera festival that takes place in a converted barn during the summer months. Sezincote House and Garden makes for a splendid afternoon out and is only half an hour away on foot, too.

You’ll find this charming cottage in Lower Slaughter, providing an ideal base from which to explore the beauty of the Cotswolds. Inside, the home is packed full of old school charm, but it’s the outdoor space that caught our eye. Vast lawns give way to pretty flowerbeds, and there are cosy seating areas to dine or simply kick back with a good book. Locally, there are plenty of walks to enjoy through Lower Slaughter that run along the River Eye, along with a village pub serving delicious meals. Within easy reach, you’ll also find Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford – all much deserving of a visit.

From here, you can easily explore charming Cotswolds villages including nearby Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold – make sure you bring a car. The cottage is full of charm, and features ancient beams and an inglenook fireplace. Children will love the outdoor playroom, and the patio outside is great for summertime barbecues. The steep stairs here mean that this home won’t be suitable for everyone.

This home's architecture, interiors and refined furnishings all share a charming rural feel, but its five acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, filled with topiary, sculptures and lily-padded ponds, tell the tale of Granada's ancient Alhambra fortress. It's a design paradox that we just love. Set in the quaint village of Kingham, there's plenty of great pubs, restaurants and woodland footpaths nearby – you're perfectly placed for exploring the sprawling Cotswolds from this pretty cottage. Upon arrival, recharge your batteries with a hearty meal in the bright and airy dining area, benefitting from soaring ceilings and windows that flood the room with light. Cosy up with a good book around the exposed stone hearth fireplace or knock up few light bites in the modern kitchen with exposed beams overhead. While its rustic features add interest, the heated indoor pool and Turkish Hammam really steal the show – treat yourself to a morning dip, before exploring the gardens or sporting your finest whites on the tennis court. With so much to see and do around the home, we just know you'll run out of time at this peaceful oasis.

Built in the 18th century, it's hard to believe this pretty Cotswolds cottage was once the village police station. Now beautifully modernised, it's a great choice for a family gathering. With all the country walks you could dream of on your doorstep, it's also super convenient – just a five-minute walk from the village shop, cafe and pub in Blockley. Set over three floors and built of the same traditional stone you'll see across the road at the local church, it's a striking building with black-framed, arched windows. Inside, the period features continue with beamed ceilings, wood floors and some exposed stone walls. We especially love the log burning stove in the fireplace opening between the living room and dining room. Extended to the rear, there's a stunning kitchen with a huge roof lantern bringing light in. With a country feel but modern appliances and underfloor heating, it's the best of both worlds. Elsewhere, bedrooms are comfortable and effortlessly stylish. The top floor bedroom is our favourite, with its beautiful bed, sloping ceiling and luxury bathroom. On sunny days, heat up the barbecue and enjoy your meal on the terrace, or step into the table tennis room in the garden and play a few games while dinner cooks. Here you'll be just a twelve-minute drive from Stow-on-the-Wold.

When it’s particularly warm out, sit at the bistro set in the garden with a glass of your favourite tipple and a paperback pulled from the bookcase. 

Take a nine-minute drive to Stow-on-the-Wold for its popular Farmer’s Market or stretch your legs with a ramble to Bourton-on-the-Water – it’ll take you an hour-and-a-half by foot. But if you’d prefer to stay put, your host can arrange fantastic at-home experiences including cider tasting and cooking classes.

With a terrace offering up a vista of the rolling north Cotswolds, it won't be a mystery why we added this home to our collection. Previously a home for silk mill workers, we loved how homely the space is – start a roaring fire in the inglenook fireplace (made with local stone, no less) and relax after a long hike or a short stroll through the local village. In the garden, the alfresco dining area is perfect for afternoon tea, while the sun loungers let you take in the view in-between naps. For dinner, you've got several pubs within a short walk here.

We adore the fragrant, lavender-filled south-facing garden – it's the perfect spot for a sunny afternoon barbecue followed by a lavender martini. The level lawn is ideal for garden games too. The grounds here are a real highlight – there's even a beautiful pear tree flourishing at the front.

Inside, you'll find an array of character features such as the original quarry floor tiles in the hall, exposed stone walls, beams, decorative fireplaces and stained glass windows. There's a cosy snug as well as an elegant living room, so this place is ideal for families or friends looking to spread out a little. To top it all, there's parking for three cars in a private bay behind the house – a total bonus in such a central location.

Dating back to approximately 1595, this stone cottage has undergone a modern transformation while keeping its historic charm – be it a cosy log burner in the beamed lounge to a Cotswold stone wall in the garden. That said, features of this era such as the steep stairs leading to the second floor and steps up to the patio may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. Having said that, the centre of the village is just a two-minute walk from this home for a real taste of quintessential village life.
