Tucked beneath a thatched roof in the golden-stone village of Broad Campden, this cottage is the Cotswolds distilled into one picture-perfect package. Inside, original timber beams and a stone alcove sit alongside contemporary interiors, while a garden room with bi-fold doors opens onto a sun-chasing garden complete with a terrace, a lawn, and an idyllic corner beside a historic well. Chipping Campden, Broadway, and a village pub are all within easy reach – but with this much charm on the doorstep, you may not want to leave.

Thatch & Thyme

Nestled away in the sort of picturesque village that's quintessentially Cotswolds, this home was once a barn in a former life and there are a few rustic traces to be spotted throughout, from the patches of stone flooring and wooden ceiling beams to the roaring fireplace in the living room.

However, these features are few and far between, with the rest of the living quarters treated to all the hallmarks of clean, contemporary design – we're talking stark white walls, gleaming kitchen surfaces and equally glossy bathrooms. Possibly our favourite part, however, is the conservatory at the back of the home, which is a lovely spot for lunch and a little bird-spotting.

If you're particularly lucky with the weather, you'll have the opportunity to make the most of the large garden, which goes around almost every side of the house so you can follow the course of the sun during the day. In the courtyard to the rear, there's also a large alfresco dining table that's just the spot for enjoying dinner fresh off the barbecue.

When you're in the mood to see a little more of the local area, there's a decent choice of walking routes to embark upon straight from the surrounding village of Paxton, but you can also easily reach other Cotswolds attractions – Batsford Arboretum is just over three miles away, for instance.

Country Comfort

Escape to the Cotswolds with this countryside cottage. There are panoramic views to enjoy as well as a lawned garden area overlooking the church and surrounding fields and a patio perfect for alfresco dining. You can enjoy the vistas from the beautifully decorated living room and there’s also a log burner here for cooler days. This home is set in a peaceful village – for keen walkers, there’s also a network of public footpaths over the surrounding fields. Or just a six-minute drive away, you’ll find the market town of Chipping Campden.

Cosy Cotswolds Cottage

Those seeking a charming Cotswolds stay will love this 17th-century cottage. It's built with the area's famous honey-coloured stone, which you can admire inside and out. The garden will tickle anyone's fancy, whether grown-ups, little ones, or four-legged friends. You can also appreciate the sunshine indoors from the glass conservatory. Upstairs, the three bedrooms offer cosy spots to rest your head, while freestanding baths are perfect for evening soaks. Combined with the convenient location in the heart of Chipping Campden, we think it's a prime spot for a country getaway.

Stone & Leather

Looking for a Cotswold escape that delivers style and space in equal measure? How’s this barn conversion, nestled in the village of Weston Subedge and just a six-minute drive from Chipping Campden, for size? Every bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, so there’s no compromising on rooms here. There’s also a self-contained suite with a small kitchenette that would work out great for a small family sharing. Winter nights are all about getting together around the lengthy dining room for lively dinner parties. In warmer weather, head out into the vast private gardens that wrap all sides of the barn for alfresco barbecues, lawn games, and a soak in the hot tub.

The Honeyed Barn

Just a short walk from the Cotswold town of Chipping Campden, you’ll find this luxurious home. There are beautiful views of the countryside and wildflower meadows from the large, landscaped gardens – there are three terraces to enjoy the peace and tranquillity. There’s also an indoor swim jet heated pool, cedar sauna and fitness area, as well as a home cinema room. This house is primed for entertaining – in the living room there’s a baby grand piano and arrangements can be made for a local pianist to play for you. Another highlight is the bedroom with its freestanding bath with vistas over the locale. Your host really has thought of everything to ensure you have a wonderful stay here.

Finely Tuned

With a terrace offering up a vista of the rolling north Cotswolds, it won't be a mystery why we added this home to our collection. Previously a home for silk mill workers, we loved how homely the space is – start a roaring fire in the inglenook fireplace (made with local stone, no less) and relax after a long hike or a short stroll through the local village. In the garden, the alfresco dining area is perfect for afternoon tea, while the sun loungers let you take in the view in-between naps. For dinner, you've got several pubs within a short walk here.

The Lark & The Rose

Brimming with character, this honey-hued stone cottage is the definition of a Cotswolds charmer. Inside, a cosy fireplace sets the scene for a relaxing stay. We love the mix of traditional features alongside the more contemporary touches – the kitchen is particularly modern and has all the essentials you’ll need. Step outside and you’ll find a small but sunny garden, perfect for morning coffees and evening cocktails. Location-wise, Chipping Campden is 1.5 miles away and offers a range of independent shops, village pubs, and pretty walks through the surrounding countryside.

Primrose & Honey

It may be modern, but this home blends into its Cotswolds location perfectly. In the village of Ebrington, you’ve got a country pub within walking distance and hiking trails on your doorstep. For a bit of buzz, Chipping Campden market town is 2.5 miles away. The home is split across two levels, with a convenient couple of bedrooms on the ground floor and a huge dine-in kitchen for family breakfasts. The living room is spacious and glass doors lead to the barbecue patio for group meals outside. The bonus? A private hot tub in the garden.

A Cotswold Retreat

Base yourself in Blockley, where honey-coloured buildings and village pubs beckon. It's in the heart of the Cotswolds, an easy drive from Moreton-in-Marsh and other chocolate-box villages. If you're keen on countryside strolls, the Macmillan Way, Heart of England Way and Monarch's Way are all close by. Prefer a slower pace? Spend your evening snuggled up in front of the fire while little ones enjoy the second-floor snug. The design blends traditional character with contemporary finishes, creating a cosy home-from-home in an idyllic setting.

Blockley Gold

You’ll find this renovated church in the village of Paxford, an ideal base from which to explore the Cotswolds. It may not be suitable for children due to the staircase design and historic fixtures throughout the home, but it offers a relaxing retreat for four guests. The mezzanine bedroom is impressive, if lacking a little in privacy, and offers a different perspective of the interiors of this historic building. And with hiking trails on its doorstep, you can be out soaking up the great outdoors in no time.

The Flintstone

Nestled in the picturesque hillside village of Bourton on the Hill, this country cottage is a charming spot to stay in the Cotswolds. There’s a warm and welcoming living space, complete with wood-burning stove for chilly evenings, and a well-appointed kitchen for making your favourite meals. You’ll also love the luxurious roll-top bath in the downstairs bathroom, and the cosy bedrooms tucked under the eaves. Outside, the garden is shared with a neighbouring home, but you have your own seating area for breakfast and barbecues. Ready to explore? Visit the village pub for a taste of local life or hop in the car and head to nearby Broadway Tower for a scenic stroll and extra-special views.
