Beyond here, it’s just a short stroll to the nearest restaurants, pubs and shops in Moreton-In-Marsh. And for explorations further afield, it’s just a short drive to Daylesford Farm, Chipping Norton and Stow-on-the-Wold.

This charming Grade II listed cottage is located in Broadwell, one of the most picturesque villages in the Cotswolds. Staying here, you’ll be close to beautiful Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold, in an excellent location for hiking and cycling. You can also stroll to the village pub – the perfect end to a countryside walk. The cottage has period features galore, including oak beams, mullion windows, and a stone fireplace, alongside modern conveniences like a fully equipped kitchen. There’s a front lawn and a rear courtyard where you can dine alfresco in warm weather.

With a terrace offering up a vista of the rolling north Cotswolds, it won't be a mystery why we added this home to our collection. Previously a home for silk mill workers, we loved how homely the space is – start a roaring fire in the inglenook fireplace (made with local stone, no less) and relax after a long hike or a short stroll through the local village. In the garden, the alfresco dining area is perfect for afternoon tea, while the sun loungers let you take in the view in-between naps. For dinner, you've got several pubs within a short walk here.

Dating back to the sixteenth century, this traditional stone cottage in the Cotswolds is bursting with rustic charm. Plenty of period features remain, including the inglenook fireplace now home to a wood-burning stove and the vaulted ceilings complete with ceiling beams.

However, there have been plenty of home improvements made in the past half-millennium. The beautifully arranged garden is a prime example, with the pergola and patio making it a lovely spot to catch the golden hour. Back inside, the rather grand dining-kitchen area is a modern interpretation of rural design, while we're willing to bet you'll also be thankful for the sleek bathtub after a long ramble.

The local village of Longborough has a twelfth-century church, two pubs and an opera festival that takes place in a converted barn during the summer months. Sezincote House and Garden makes for a splendid afternoon out and is only half an hour away on foot, too.

It sits on a working farm with an award-winning farm shop next door; the dreamy private garden is a wonderful spot for a picnic lunch. Moreton-in-Marsh is just 3 miles away, and you can easily reach the northern Cotswolds Way if you want to stretch your legs. Idyllic setting aside, the honey-hued farmhouse is perfect for a family get-together, with a snug that’s ideal for kids and an elegant dining room with exposed beams for the grown-ups. It’s comfortable for six people, although the third bedroom is a bit of a squeeze and has a wardrobe on the landing. That said, throughout the cottage, you’re met with 17th-century charm – just mind your head on those sloping ceilings and beautiful old beams. With three country pubs within 3-5 miles and a farm shop selling local produce a short walk away, you won’t be short of options at mealtimes. In summer, alfresco dinners in the quaint cottage garden are a must.

Built in the 18th century, it's hard to believe this pretty Cotswolds cottage was once the village police station. Now beautifully modernised, it's a great choice for a family gathering. With all the country walks you could dream of on your doorstep, it's also super convenient – just a five-minute walk from the village shop, cafe and pub in Blockley. Set over three floors and built of the same traditional stone you'll see across the road at the local church, it's a striking building with black-framed, arched windows. Inside, the period features continue with beamed ceilings, wood floors and some exposed stone walls. We especially love the log burning stove in the fireplace opening between the living room and dining room. Extended to the rear, there's a stunning kitchen with a huge roof lantern bringing light in. With a country feel but modern appliances and underfloor heating, it's the best of both worlds. Elsewhere, bedrooms are comfortable and effortlessly stylish. The top floor bedroom is our favourite, with its beautiful bed, sloping ceiling and luxury bathroom. On sunny days, heat up the barbecue and enjoy your meal on the terrace, or step into the table tennis room in the garden and play a few games while dinner cooks. Here you'll be just a twelve-minute drive from Stow-on-the-Wold.

Nestled away in the sort of picturesque village that's quintessentially Cotswolds, this home was once a barn in a former life and there are a few rustic traces to be spotted throughout, from the patches of stone flooring and wooden ceiling beams to the roaring fireplace in the living room.

However, these features are few and far between, with the rest of the living quarters treated to all the hallmarks of clean, contemporary design – we're talking stark white walls, gleaming kitchen surfaces and equally glossy bathrooms. Possibly our favourite part, however, is the conservatory at the back of the home, which is a lovely spot for lunch and a little bird-spotting.

If you're particularly lucky with the weather, you'll have the opportunity to make the most of the large garden, which goes around almost every side of the house so you can follow the course of the sun during the day. In the courtyard to the rear, there's also a large alfresco dining table that's just the spot for enjoying dinner fresh off the barbecue.

When you're in the mood to see a little more of the local area, there's a decent choice of walking routes to embark upon straight from the surrounding village of Paxton, but you can also easily reach other Cotswolds attractions – Batsford Arboretum is just over three miles away, for instance.

When you think of the Cotswolds, chances are you picture chocolate-box villages, cobbled lanes and that famous honey-coloured stone. Stow-on-the-Wold promises all that and more. It's home to chic restaurants, traditional inns, cosy pubs and plenty of independent shops ripe for browsing. With countryside walks on your doorstep and many Cotswolds attractions within driving distance, this is a desirable place to be – and we absolutely adore this cottage, which is smack-dab in the centre of town. Once an antique showroom, this inviting homestead is now filled with local artwork – including paintings by the host's grandfather – as well as The Cotswold Company furniture and every amenity you can think of. Snuggle up with a book in front of the wood-burner, challenge the family to a board game around the dining table or relax with a soak in the sumptuous master bathtub. The private courtyard is the perfect spot to savour a cup of tea or a cocktail in the sun. In the evenings, light the barbecue and enjoy an alfresco meal, gathering around the fire pit for toasted marshmallows when the air turns chilly. 

Host Susy goes above and beyond, providing everything you'll need, be it a complete dinner set and kitchen loaded with appliances and crockery to the luxury toiletries in the bathrooms. She can even arrange restaurant reservations and has a whole slew of recommendations, so you'll be in excellent hands.

You’ll find this Grade II listed home just a stone’s throw from Stow-on-the-Wold and Lower Swell – in other words, perfectly placed to explore the Cotswolds. Full of charm, it’s the little added luxuries that make this space special for us. A copper bath, wood burner, and a section of glass floor showcasing the source of the spa waters below are just some of the touches you can enjoy. If you’re not soaking up the rolling countryside views from the garden, the nearby hiking trails will have you pulling on your boots and heading out to explore in no time.

Tucked away in the village of Blockley, this 19th-century cottage sets the tone for a romantic Cotswolds getaway. Inside, the rooms invite a wonderful sense of comfort thanks to the traditional features, open fire, original Aga and antique furnishings. Step inside, and this ancient property is anything but twee. The original 1700's features remain (the oak beams and impressive stone staircase is quite something), while elsewhere, everything is firmly into the 21st Century. Climb the stairs to the top floor to discover a marble-clad bathroom with a double walk-in shower and a serene master bedroom boasting a sumptuous emperor-sized bed. At the heart of the home is an immaculate kitchen made for action and a large farmhouse dining table for you to all spill out. But if you don't fancy cooking, you're just a stone's throw to some of the best-known eateries and watering holes in the Cotswolds. While just next door, you'll find the Fosse Gallery – considered one of the best art galleries in the country. Now, how's that for a location?

The Willow House

This home could not be better located. Right in the heart of Stow-on-the-Wold, you'll be mere moments away from the village's tea rooms, shops, and restaurants. With a provided parking space, you'll also be able to explore further afield – just note that it's only suitable for compact vehicles. The design back home is contemporary yet cosy. Everyone can relax together in the open-plan living space, while the two en-suite bedrooms offer privacy. There's also a small terrace ideal for summer sundowners – or better yet, head to the pub up the road for a nightcap.

Situated in a quiet Cotswold village, with sweeping views across a deer park and the picturesque Blockley Valley, this home will appeal to those wanting a taste of country living. While the traditional decor feels dated in places, the home has lots of characterful features. You’ll find a community-run shop, cafe, and two pubs within walking distance, and there are plenty of hiking routes on your doorstep. Set on 21 acres of land in the beautiful Cotswolds, this plush home is a tranquil spot and a fantastic base to explore the local Oxfordshire countryside and attractions. When we visited, we were particularly impressed by the design of the home, with a beautiful blend of traditional country cottage and modern architectural gem. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the home with natural light, while interesting artworks lend a contemporary feel. There are plenty of cosy and welcoming nooks, making it ideal for a group who want a wholesome country break with lots of opportunities for reconnection, whether that’s during late-night fireside chats, rustic meals cooked on the AGA, long country walks or outdoor barbecues on summer nights. It’s surrounded by the most picturesque villages the Cotswolds have to offer. Within walking distance you'll find the award-winning Daylesford organic farm shop and 16th century pub, the Fox at Oddington, for a cracking Sunday roast. Pick up the car and Stow-on-the-Wold is a 10 minute drive away; in less than 20 you'll reach the exclusive Soho Farmhouse. Overall, this is a wow home, filled with natural light and country charm.


Rambler's Barn

You’ll find this renovated church in the village of Paxford, an ideal base from which to explore the Cotswolds. It may not be suitable for children due to the staircase design and historic fixtures throughout the home, but it offers a relaxing retreat for four guests. The mezzanine bedroom is impressive, if lacking a little in privacy, and offers a different perspective of the interiors of this historic building. And with hiking trails on its doorstep, you can be out soaking up the great outdoors in no time. 

The Flintstone

Words can't describe how much we adore this cosy and characterful Cotswold cottage. Deep-set window seats, a crackling wood-burning stove, original flagstone floors, traditional honey-coloured stone walls – this former farm worker's home has oodles of charm to go around. Wake up to far-reaching views over the countryside in the upstairs bedroom, then pad down to the kitchen for a cup of coffee and a hearty breakfast – the village shop down the road has plenty of fresh ingredients. On sunny days, take your fare into the rose-filled garden, watching as the world wakes up – if you're lucky, you may see a herd of deer or birds of prey in the neighbouring fields. Spend a chilled afternoon at home, working your way through the host's personal library, playing family board games or watching films on the DVD player in front of the fire. But if you're eager to get out and explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, don your walking shoes for a ramble through the rolling landscape – there are a number of walking paths on your doorstep. Blockley has a charming cafe and a traditional village pub, but Moreton-in-Marsh is a ten-minute drive away if you want a bit more choice. Or speak to your host about organising unique experiences like cooking classes, personal chefs and at-home massages to make your Cotswolds getaway extra special.

An idyllic 18th-century cottage in the heart of the Cotswolds. Set over three floors, this charming home is where sloped ceilings, limestone floors, exposed beams and a brick hearth meet contemporary altercations in elegant fashion. Knock up a hearty homemade meal in the classic country-style kitchen to be enjoyed around the old oak dining table, before losing yourself in a good book by the crackling fire. Spend warmer evenings in the sunny courtyard area at the rear of the cottage. With its beautiful Acer tree and a dining table for four, we can't imagine a lovelier spot to relax with a glass of chilled wine. When you do peel yourself away from home, Stow-on-the-Wold is a six-minute drive away, but the real gems are the village pub and picturesque green, just a five-minute wander up the road.

Within the Cotswolds AONB, this modern home is a short walk from the local pub and puts walking trails and idyllic villages on your doorstep. The market town of Chipping Campden is 2.5 miles away to stock up on supplies, but it’s all about the quiet countryside idyll here. You’ll find two comfortable bedrooms on the ground floor, along with two bathrooms, a full kitchen and cosy living room. Glass bi-fold doors blend the indoors with the private garden where table and chairs on the patio catch the evening sun. Plus, there’s a barbecue for sunny days.

Set within a 14-acre meadow on the edge of the Cotswolds, this home was created with pure relaxation in mind. The minimalist interiors allow the views to shine – making this the ideal setting for a rural retreat. The outdoor space features a fire pit, barbecue and trampoline. We love the drop-down cinema screen in the living room (great for movie nights), plus there’s a ground-floor bedroom and bathroom – a nice option for those with reduced mobility. From your address, you can follow hiking trails, pick up fresh local produce from Daylesford Organic or drop into Soho Farmhouse – less than a twenty-minute drive away.

Recently restored throughout, while lofty exposed oak beams and honey Cotswold stone walls remain to tell of the lodge’s rich heritage, everywhere else is beautifully reimagined for luxurious modern living. Upstairs, on the first floor, you’ll find one hug of a king-sized bed feathered in quality Egyptian Cotton awaiting in the two serene double bedrooms and a luxurious rolltop bath for post-hike evening soaks. While up into the eaves on the top floor, you'll find a characterful third bedroom with twin beds that would perfectly suit children or friends sharing. 

But it’s back downstairs in the expertly extended living areas where we think you’ll spend most of your time together. Hunker down in the cosy lounge for board games and catch-ups. Then spill out into the light-filled dining area overlooking a pretty courtyard garden for drinks and nibbles. And though cooking is a joy in that made-for-action kitchen, those charming local inns and top-notch restaurants on your doorstep might just be too tempting.
