With countryside walks on your doorstep and many Cotswolds attractions within driving distance, this is a desirable place to be – and we absolutely adore this cottage, which is smack-dab in the centre of town. Once an antique showroom, this inviting homestead is now filled with local artwork – including paintings by the host's grandfather – as well as The Cotswold Company furniture and every amenity you can think of. Snuggle up with a book in front of the wood-burner, challenge the family to a board game around the dining table or relax with a soak in the sumptuous master bathtub. The private courtyard is the perfect spot to savour a cup of tea or a cocktail in the sun. In the evenings, light the barbecue and enjoy an alfresco meal, gathering around the fire pit for toasted marshmallows when the air turns chilly. 

Host Susy goes above and beyond, providing everything you'll need, be it a complete dinner set and kitchen loaded with appliances and crockery to the luxury toiletries in the bathrooms. Step inside, and this ancient property is anything but twee. The four-storey house has been lovingly reimagined into a light-filled space awash in crisp whites, soothing greys and lavenders, and luxurious finishes. The original 1700's features remain (the oak beams and impressive stone staircase is quite something), while elsewhere, everything is firmly into the 21st Century. Climb the stairs to the top floor to discover a marble-clad bathroom with a double walk-in shower and a serene master bedroom boasting a sumptuous emperor-sized bed. At the heart of the home is an immaculate kitchen made for action and a large farmhouse dining table for you to all spill out. Back home, the interior is more contemporary than cosy, but it has all you need to relax and unwind. There's a small kitchen, an inviting living room, and three comfortable bedrooms on the first floor. Outside, a small gravel patio is perfect for G&Ts in the summer sunshine.

Just a short walk from Stow-on-the-Wold's cafes, pubs, and shops, this home makes an excellent base for exploring the Cotswolds. It's contemporary yet cosy – we're particularly fond of the wood burner in the living area and the sun-kissed garden. Travelling with little ones in tow? The playroom, as well as the third bedroom with two single beds, are perfect for youngsters. When you fancy a change of scenery, you can walk into Stow or take day trips to Cheltenham, Stratford-upon-Avon, or Bourton-on-the-Water.

You’ll find this Grade II listed home just a stone’s throw from Stow-on-the-Wold and Lower Swell – in other words, perfectly placed to explore the Cotswolds. Full of charm, it’s the little added luxuries that make this space special for us. A copper bath, wood burner, and a section of glass floor showcasing the source of the spa waters below are just some of the touches you can enjoy. If you’re not soaking up the rolling countryside views from the garden, the nearby hiking trails will have you pulling on your boots and heading out to explore in no time.

This charming Grade II listed cottage is located in Broadwell, one of the most picturesque villages in the Cotswolds. Staying here, you’ll be close to beautiful Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold, in an excellent location for hiking and cycling. You can also stroll to the village pub – the perfect end to a countryside walk. The cottage has period features galore, including oak beams, mullion windows, and a stone fireplace, alongside modern conveniences like a fully equipped kitchen. Dating back to the sixteenth century, this traditional stone cottage in the Cotswolds is bursting with rustic charm. Plenty of period features remain, including the inglenook fireplace now home to a wood-burning stove and the vaulted ceilings complete with ceiling beams.

However, there have been plenty of home improvements made in the past half-millennium. The beautifully arranged garden is a prime example, with the pergola and patio making it a lovely spot to catch the golden hour. Back inside, the rather grand dining-kitchen area is a modern interpretation of rural design, while we're willing to bet you'll also be thankful for the sleek bathtub after a long ramble.

The local village of Longborough has a twelfth-century church, two pubs and an opera festival that takes place in a converted barn during the summer months. Sezincote House and Garden makes for a splendid afternoon out and is only half an hour away on foot, too.

The steep stairs here mean that this home won’t be suitable for everyone.

From the Aga in the kitchen for cooking hearty meals in the cooler months to the private patio for alfresco dining in the summer, this is a comfortable base all year round for a small family or close-knit group of friends.

Upon arrival, recharge your batteries with a hearty meal in the bright and airy dining area, benefitting from soaring ceilings and windows that flood the room with light. Cosy up with a good book around the exposed stone hearth fireplace or knock up few light bites in the modern kitchen with exposed beams overhead. With its warm stone exterior, there's no mistaking what area of England this lovely Edwardian villa is in – it’s nestled in the popular Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water. We adore the fragrant, lavender-filled south-facing garden – it's the perfect spot for a sunny afternoon barbecue followed by a lavender martini. The level lawn is ideal for garden games too. The grounds here are a real highlight – there's even a beautiful pear tree flourishing at the front.

Inside, you'll find an array of character features such as the original quarry floor tiles in the hall, exposed stone walls, beams, decorative fireplaces and stained glass windows. There's a cosy snug as well as an elegant living room, so this place is ideal for families or friends looking to spread out a little. We loved how the cosy seating area with log-burning stove opens up into a bright dining space – the perfect spot for cream tea on summer afternoons. When it’s particularly warm out, sit at the bistro set in the garden with a glass of your favourite tipple and a paperback pulled from the bookcase. 

Take a nine-minute drive to Stow-on-the-Wold for its popular Farmer’s Market or stretch your legs with a ramble to Bourton-on-the-Water – it’ll take you an hour-and-a-half by foot. But if you’d prefer to stay put, your host can arrange fantastic at-home experiences including cider tasting and cooking classes.

On the ground level, there are not just one, but two living rooms, each filled with comfy furnishings and framed artwork, and one with a wood-burning fireplace to curl up next to during the cooler months. The open-concept kitchen-dining area is a contemporary take on the traditional farmhouse kitchen, with a blue range cooker and sleek wooden surfaces. 

Look out the huge glass doors in this space and you'll see the home's walled garden, which has plenty of seating for alfresco gatherings, plus a barbecue and fire pit so festivities can continue into the evening. This village house is set on a quiet lane in the charming Cotswolds village of Bledington. While there's plenty of parking space outside, you won't need to drive to get the most out of your stay. The village green and babbling brook are within walking distance, and we think the location is fantastic for a well-behaved dog. The village's famous King's Head pub is a breezy stroll away, but you'll have space outside on the terrace to enjoy an evening drink or an alfresco dinner. Indoors, all the bedrooms are upstairs with their own en-suite bathrooms, and underfloor heating adds a touch of luxury.

That said, features of this era such as the steep stairs leading to the second floor and steps up to the patio may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.
