Glamping never looked so good than at this charming cabin nestled within a wild-flower meadow of a 2500-acre family-owned farm estate. Don't be fooled by its unassuming aluminum exterior. Inside, the cabin is surprisingly spacious and lovingly converted by your hosts to provide all the creature comforts. Expect spotless interiors with a well-equipped traditional kitchen complete with a Belfast sink, a neat en-suite shower, and luxurious Egyptian linens on the king-sized bed and bunk beds for the kids. A welcome hamper brimming with local goodies, including milk, eggs, freshly baked bread, and marshmallows for those obligatory s'mores, will help to settle you in. And you'll bank a blissful night's sleep here – your only neighbours are the occasional peacock or deer strutting by. While away your days watching nature unfold outside on the terraces - the private elevated balcony looking out into surrounding woodland (a great spot for den building) is a beautiful place for a cuppa. Or don your hiking boots for a country walk – perhaps with a pit stop at the welcoming local pub (within walking distance) for a swift pint. Just be sure to make it home for dusk as the sun sets over the surrounding countryside. Placed in one of the UK's largest 'dark-sky' areas, there's much stargazing to be done while getting toasty beside the firepit.

Under the Stars

Situated on England's sunny south coast — well, relatively speaking — this home has plenty of ways for you to enjoy a summer's day. The terrace out through the French doors has a glorious view of the River Hamble where you can enjoy paddleboarding, sailing, riverside walks or use as a base for sailing regattas. You can even arrive by boat and moor at the Elephant Boatyard opposite the house. Elsewhere in the large garden, there's a wooden summerhouse with a log burner that brings a touch of apres-ski glamour to this corner of Hampshire, great for cosy sundowners in the winter and family barbecues in summer.

Inside, the preference for wooden interiors continues in the main house, especially in the open-concept living space with its parquet flooring, roof beams and rustic dining table next to a set of tall windows. As well as a huge corner kitchen complete with a sociable island, there are two reception rooms, one with another wood burner for those autumnal evenings.

In the local area, you'll find it easy to enjoy the great outdoors. The River Hamble Country Park is only ten minutes' drive away and is good for a rural walk finished off with a hot chocolate. You're also opposite the Jolly Sailor pub which has roaring log fires in the winter and a great menu for outdoor dining. The centre of Southampton takes just over twenty minutes in the car whenever you fancy a change of pace.


The Hamble Anchorage

Pinkmead Estate opened up to the public in 2018, and now you can enjoy all 24 acres just for yourselves. Stunningly beautiful and endlessly peaceful, it's the perfect retreat for a tranquil escape amongst nature. 

The house itself is designed to feel like a cabin with the comforts of modern touches. A bright living room and kitchen provide cosy convenience, yet the home comes to life in the cute kitchen garden and sprawling outside space. 

The kitchen garden is where we suggest spending sunrise or sunset. It offers one of the prettiest views on the island, and it's shaped in comfy seats for unbridled luxury. 

Adjacent to the kitchen garden, you'll find a diverse room tailored to all activities. You can fire up the projector on colder nights to watch your favourite film, or use it as a yoga studio in the mornings for a wholesome start to the day.

How you spend that day is all up to you. You're welcome to use the home's four bikes to explore the gorgeous scenery, or mosey over to the vineyards to pick up some wine for the evenings. 

If you prefer your adventures on the water, your host provides access to kayaks and paddle boards so you can traverse the water. There's also a private jetty, an idyllic spot to sit with a slice of pizza from the pizza oven and bask in the serenity. You also have exclusive access to the vineyards – and there's even a helipad should you wish to arrive in style! 

Water Chakra

This cosy cabin is the perfect little bolthole for couples wanting to escape to the country. The location right at the heart of the New Forest means you’ll feel miles away from the stresses of daily life – as you fly down country lanes on your bike, you’ll feel your worries melting away. 

The cabin is just outside of Brockenhurst, in an area that feels secluded but isn’t too far from the nearest shops. You can stroll to the pub in fifteen minutes, which is a welcome sight after a day spent hiking the trails. A four-minute drive will get you to beautiful Beaulieu, which is well worth an afternoon strolling around after lunch in a cafe. The abbey is just six minutes from the cabin – the tranquil ruins are always popular with history buffs. 

If you need an ice cream on the beach for it to feel like a holiday, you’re in luck. Fifteen minutes by car will have you on a sandy shore, though we can’t guarantee it’ll be paddling weather. 

For us, the real joy of this cabin is its countryside setting. Walking just five minutes from the front door will see you on walking and cycling trails. When your feet start to feel sore, head back to the cabin to soak in the luxurious claw-foot tub before spending the evening in front of the fire. Absolute bliss. 


In The Potting Shed

A timber cabin surrounded by meadows and woodland might sound like a back-to-basics retreat, but at this home in rural Sussex, guests will have a wealth of luxuries at their disposal.

This is before you've even entered the home, as well. Out on the decked terrace, there's a hot tub from which you can enjoy the tranquillity of the local area, as well as a sofa and swing seat. When the sun goes down, there are festoon lights to turn on, plus a charcoal barbecue and fire pit to keep you fed and warm.

If the temperature dips a little too low, there's a wood-burning fireplace inside the home, as well as plenty of cosy blankets and board games. Inside, the design is rustic in places, as with the weathered wood dining table, but the sleek black kitchen and stylish bedrooms are nothing but modern.

When it comes to filling up your itinerary, there's so much to see and do nearby. The sprawling South Downs National Park starts a minute's drive to the north, while the Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty sits a similar amount of time in the opposite direction. The town of Bognor Regis and its beach can be reached in twenty-five minutes.




Teddy Bear's Picnic

In a secluded spot down a single-track lane, this contemporary barn is a welcome surprise. Renovated in the style of Caruso St John (the famed architects behind the Tate Modern), it's a striking tribute to modern, eco-friendly design – solar panels and a heat source pump power the heating and hot water. The inside is just as dramatic, with copper light fittings, high-design furniture and large picture windows that make the most of the garden views. All the mod-cons are accounted for, including rain showers, a home-cinema projector and underfloor heating to keep chilly toes at bay. Throw a log on the wood-burner for extra cosiness and snuggle up in the window seat with a good book. Outside there's even more to love, including a private pool, leafy garden and a calisthenic gym space that works as a yoga or kickboxing studio. After a morning workout and a dip in the pool, enjoy a walk around Manor Bottom, or if you want to stretch your legs even more, the seaside town of Ventnor is a forty-minute walk away. But our favourite part were the hosts. The amount of love Steven and Agnieszka put into making their guests' stay extra special is quite something. No detail has been overlooked, be it organic toiletries, a welcome hamper filled with local jams and chutneys or arranging on-site massages. They even go the extra mile to carefully curate books and music for each individual guest – safe to say, you'll be in excellent hands.

The Granaries

Perhaps it's the palm trees, white architecture and glistening sea view, but there's something of the Balaerics to this address. However, consult the map and you'll find that you're actually looking at England's south coast.

It's fair to say that the main asset here is the aforementioned panorama, which can be appreciated from the balconies leading off from four of the five bedrooms, from the comfort of the hot tub or simply as you eat breakfast out on the terrace. As you would hope, this proximity to the English Channel means the beach is mere metres away and guests have direct access to the surf here.

The summer house in the garden with bi-fold doors is a novel addition and is a great place to enjoy the fruits of your labour from the barbecue. Back inside, there's a wealth of places to kick back and relax, as well as an impressive collection of sleek bathrooms for washing off the sand and sea salt.

As well as plenty of beaches to visit in the local area, the home's also a quarter of an hour's drive from the hillside town of Arundel and less than half an hour in the car from Chicester Harbour AONB, just in case you fancy a spot of birdwatching.

Queen of Queens

If it’s a relaxing, seaside getaway that you seek, you’ve hit the jackpot here. Simply step outside of your home and find yourself in front of the glittering south coast, breathing in the fresh sea air. It doesn’t get much more coastal than this. Here, you can start your days with invigorating walks along the beach, take early swims, or simply spend time by yourself on the pebbles.

Inside, you’ll find a warm and homely interior that’s been thoughtfully designed for you to feel at ease. There are subtle nods to the seaside surroundings, taking inspiration from the natural beauty, with earthy tones, blue hues, and atmospheric artwork. Not that you need reminding – the sparkly blue sea is in full view. 

If you’re not admiring the view with a cup of coffee or curled up in the conservatory with a good book, you’ll love spending your mornings in the sunny garden. Gather around the outdoor table for a hearty breakfast, letting the morning drift into the afternoon while you unwind on the sun loungers. 

If you get itchy feet, there are plenty of ways to fill your days. When you’re not relaxing on the beach, you can find a spot for surfing, paragliding, kite surfing, and more. West Sussex is full of fun watersport activities, or you can explore Selsey and the nearby towns on land. After a fun-filled day, be sure not to miss the sun dip into the English Channel at dusk. 

Channelling the Sea

An outdoor swimming pool might not be the first thing you expect to see in the UK, but this coastal home is full of surprises. And perhaps the best surprise of all is it’s just a seven-minute walk away from West Wittering’s blue flag beach. Here, you can easily start your day with a morning walk along the sand, surfing the waves, or with a coffee at a seafront café. Perhaps an amble through the countryside is how you’d like to kick off your day – your private estate is nestled between fields, or you can head to the South Downs for a cycle through verdant valleys. 

There’s plenty to keep all the family entertained at home, too. Get on the Peloton, bounce around the trampoline, or have a game of table tennis. But it’s not all go-go-go here – sometimes all you want to do is read your book beside the pool, basking in the UK’s beautiful south coast. Whip up a pitcher of fruity Pimms to be enjoyed around the outdoor sofa, chatting away while the kids splash in the pool. Or better still – hop in the bubbling jacuzzi for total relaxation. 

If a jam-packed day has left you all tired, a quiet barbecue at home is the perfect way to round off the evening. If you fancy going out, it’s the ideal time to explore West Wittering’s pubs – there’s a great one nearby. Or you can take a twenty-five-minute walk to East Wittering for a change of scenery. 

Countryside Sunrise

The world is your oyster at Head Over Hills. Nestled into the rolling hills of the South Downs by Amberly Wild Brooks, this home blends rustic living with an incredible range of modern luxuries to create a unique space that inspires you to slow down and spend time with your loved ones. Boasting 360-degree views of the surrounding landscape, a meditation pod, a sundeck, and private bluebell woods, we can’t think of a better place to unwind. Head out to the hills to explore the impressive sceneries (host Jemma also offers bike rentals), then come home and soothe your aching muscles in the wood-burning hot tub. At night, we recommend cooking up a storm in the bespoke kitchen (or hiring a private chef to do the honours), socialising with friends, and taking in your stunning surroundings.

Head Over Hills

Once a stable, this place has been converted into a luxury home fit for the finest filly. It’s not often that a home in England has a backyard to rival a Tuscan retreat or Californian hideaway, but the hot tub here sets the lavish tone, and the full outdoor kitchen keeps it going. Under a wooden pergola, you’ll find an outdoor lounge under the stars where a brick fireplace keeps things warm when the sun goes down. Inside, tufted leather sofas invite you to sit back as a family amidst the striking equine artworks as a fire crackles in the wood-burning stove. We particularly love the barn-style sliding doors that offer a reminder of the building’s former life as a stable. The indoor kitchen is a delight to cook in, designed country-style with a big range cooker, yet modern feeling in slate grey. If you want to get out and explore the area you’ll find a pleasing mix of rural walking routes in the surrounding hills, and the quaint coffee shops, local pubs and shops of Bosham village a fifteen-minute walk away. The centre of Chichester is just a ten-minute drive away too.   

Horsemen Pass By

Built in 1929, Art Deco House showcases impressive features that take you back to a bygone era of lavish magnificence and opulent luxuries. It sits atop a cliff overlooking Sandown Bay, and there’s great access to the cliff edge and spectacular views of the Channel. Once you get inside, it becomes clear that it’s a labour of love. All of the furniture and art has been meticulously sourced from English and Viennese beginnings, and it ends up feeling like something from an F Scott Fitzgerald novel – especially, as you wander around the beautifully manicured gardens. It doesn’t hurt that one of the owners is an expert on Champagne either, and can provide you with a personal selection.
