Spread over three buildings, this converted farm dates back to the 17th century and maintains plenty of historic charm. Designed specifically with families in mind, you can have a multi-generational shindig here – two guests have the dairy to themselves (with its ground floor bedroom, it's perfect for older couples), while the farmhouse, spread over three floors, can house up to twelve (with ten adults), and the granary up to ten (with six adults) – the latter two buildings have living areas, as well. You won't need to be apart for long, though – you'll all likely be meeting for mealtimes at the long dining table, while the pool and large garden can fill most of the times in between.

If you like a bit of history with your holiday, look no further than this converted stable in the rolling hills of the Kent countryside. Step inside and you'll find hints of the building's past life in every room, coupled with some modern details like underfloor heating, a lavish soaker tub and fluffy bathrobes. We're particularly fond of the exposed ceiling beams, handcrafted kitchen worktop and the repurposed ladder-turned-clothes rail upstairs, which only add to the country charm. This delightfully picturesque studio barn is set within the grounds of the owners' home, surrounded by stunning countryside views. The timber-frame barn has been carefully renovated into a stylish open-plan space with thoughtful touches and a green outlook. An external wooden staircase leads down to the mature garden which features a large wildlife pond. Cook up lunch on the barbecue while the sun shines or if you feel like exploring further afield there are some great walks nearby. And as you're right in the heart of rural Kent, an abundance of famous gardens are practically on your doorstep including Hole Park which is renowned for its stunning springtime array of bluebells, magnolia, azaleas and daffodils. Closer to home, the local village of Benenden is home to a cafe, butcher and a brilliant pub that’s perfect for a nightcap before heading home for an evening of peace and quiet.

With beautiful country views and a peaceful setting on the owners’ sheep farm, this perfectly petite home is the ideal base for exploring the Kentish Weald. You’re a ten-minute drive from the well-heeled town of Tenterden with its independent boutiques and tearooms as well as many National Trust properties. The beautiful gardens at Great Dixter, just 11 mins away, or the famous Pashley Manor make for a fabulous day out or head just up the road to the pretty weather-boarded village of Rolvenden for the weekly farmers’ market or a pub lunch. The cottage itself is a cute red-brick bolthole where sheep and donkeys graze in the fields out front. Admire the surrounding farmland from the rocking chair on the wooden deck, or watch the kids run free on the lawn. Inside, it’s a cheerful medley of white, teal and magenta and kitsch flowery curtains add a bit of character. You may even spot the resident kingfisher as it flies from the pond. When you're ready for sleep, drift off in the plush beds in the country-style bedrooms, then wake up feeling well-rested and ready to explore Kent. You're perfectly located for adventures – make the twenty-minute drive to the coastal Dungeness National Nature Reserve or reward yourself after a stroll with a pint in one of the delicious pubs nearby.

Weald Whimsy

Located in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, within the grounds of a 50-acre estate, this detached oast house overlooks fields and paddocks from its southwest-facing terrace and lawned garden. You may spot the local wildlife, including deer, foxes, and barn owls. If you have children with you, though, a fenced-off pond is nearby, so they'll need to be supervised. Inside, there's a log burner for cosy nights in and a charming circular main bedroom. It would be tempting to spend all your time here, wouldn't it? It's perfectly placed, too, with Rye, Camber Sands, and Hastings all within easy driving distance.

Tuck into breakfast in your private courtyard before taking a stroll past the pond and golden barley fields to the paddock, where Caroline’s Soay sheep are kept. Set out on a yomp along country lanes, stopping at gastro pubs along the way. Set in the home's grounds, the abbey dates from 1285 and it's quite a sight to wake up to each morning.

Inside, the home is beautifully detailed, with character features like a meticulously restored original fireplace with log burner in the living room, Gothic plasterwork, ornate cornice to the high ceilings and stone mullion windows.
