From here, you can follow hiking trails straight from the door and you’ll find the village of Brenchley is just a short stroll away. Wherever the day takes you, this home has all the essentials needed for a relaxing stay. The rooms are simple, family-friendly and well-suited to couples travelling with pets. It’s worth noting the grounds are shared with the neighbouring home, but it still retains a wonderful sense of peace and privacy. 

Rustic Sanctuary 

Known for its picturesque high street and proximity to the Kent coast and High Weald AONB, Tenterden is an excellent starting point for outdoor adventures. This cottage is just a short walk from the centre, putting shops, pubs, and eateries within easy reach. On summer days, you'll want to make the most of the garden. We think it's the perfect spot to enjoy alfresco lunches and evening sundowners. When the weather turns, the lounge is cosy as can be. You'll have all you need to settle in here, from a well-appointed kitchen to comfortable bedrooms. There's also on-street parking, so day trips to Rye, Camber Sands, and more are sure to be on the cards.

Tenterden Charm

Tucked away in the historic heart of Rye, this stylish apartment makes a sleek base for coastal escapes. Perched on the second floor, it’s a light-filled retreat with a warm, welcoming vibe. The open-plan living space invites slow mornings and evenings with a glass of wine, while the compact kitchen is well-equipped. After a day spent wandering cobbled lanes or exploring nearby Camber Sands, return for a hot soak. With pubs, galleries, and restaurants just steps away, this spot puts you within easy reach of Rye’s charm and the coast beyond.

Seaglass Loft

A stone’s throw from Camber Sands, this stylish home takes beach shack to glamorous new heights, making it the perfect coastal retreat for friendly get-togethers and extended families. 

The interior is characterfully designed using reclaimed and antique materials, offering a revitalised version of seaside chic. The host is evidently a fan of up-cycling – look out for creative touches such as repurposed doors, stain-glass windows and rustic radiators. We especially love the wood-panelled walls and flooring that shape the space as a whole, while the comfortable furnishings, neutral tones and wood-burning stove keep things cosy. 

Here, as much attention has been paid to comfort as it has to style – drift off to sleep beneath Egyptian cotton bed linen or relax on leather sofas in the sitting room. But, don’t spend too much time inside as this home is close to an expansive sandy beach. Enjoy exclusive use of a private “No Through” sandy road, with access only to residents, and walk to the sand dunes in two minutes. End the day with early-evening sundowners on the front porch, sharing anecdotes and listening to the waves lapping in and out of the shore, before heading into the local village for a spot of traditional pub grub, five minutes away on foot. 

Camber Sands

Situated on a small family-run agricultural nursery, we think this luxury lodge is the perfect place to switch off and recharge. Not only is the location excellent – the idyllic South Downs are practically on your doorstep – but the attention to detail here is second-to-none. Rainfall showers and eco-friendly toiletries in the bathrooms, Netflix on the smart TVs and a panini maker in the kitchen are just a few of the things we love. The design is impeccable with blue velvet, dark greys and lots of wood. It's the perfect blend between rustic, country living and contemporary comforts, with chic furniture handmade by host Lucca. Speaking of, he'll leave a welcome hamper brimming with goodies for you to enjoy, and depending on the season, it'll contain fresh Italian fruit and veg grown on their farm. 

Days start and end here out on the deck, enjoying alfresco breakfasts in the sun and evening dips in the private hot tub. In between, set off and explore the local area – just walk out the front gates and you're on the National Trust South Downs footpath, leading towards Highdown Hill. A fourteen-minute walk away is the local pub, a few eateries and shops in Ferring, and it's only a five-minute drive to the beach. And with Worthing, Chichester and Brighton all less than an hour by car, you'll have plenty of options for adventures around West Sussex.

Dew on the Vine

Positioned directly on Dungeness's public beach, this former foghorn testing station has been fully renovated into a unique getaway for two. The nearby lighthouse's foghorn still works, although we much prefer the idea of waking up to the sound of the waves and seagulls. The sea is literally on your doorstep, and huge glass doors and a small terrace maximise the idyllic views. It's more of a studio than a one-bed, but we like the single-level layout. Although phone signal is patchy here and there's no proper TV, there is wi-fi for remote working and streaming. That said, the Bose speaker system, wood burner and teak bathtub are all you need to truly unwind. 

The Fog Signalling Building 

This home is all about slowing down and switching off. Whether you’re sipping something refreshing in the lakeside garden or heading out to explore nearby walking trails and heritage sites, this is an easy-going base for a peaceful countryside break. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, with enough space for everyone to do their own thing. While it’s designed with comfort in mind rather than high design, the home is warm, functional and full of simple pleasures. Fancy a day out? Bodiam Castle, scenic woodland walks and cosy country pubs are all within a short drive.

A Cosy Cottage

Tucked away in the Weald of Kent, this English country home is a dream come true. Dating back to the 16th century, it's a listed building that's undergone tasteful renovations in recent years. It's packed with character, with ancient beams, wood floors and cosy fireplaces – and the kitchen, orangery dining area, and bathroom are modern and ready to make your stay a supremely comfortable one. 

Mornings can be spent on the all-weather tennis court, or perhaps just strolling through the three-acre gardens. On warm days there's a real treat in store, thanks to a large heated outdoor pool, and a lovely terrace for eating alfresco – with incredible views over the landscape. Fire up the barbecue and settle in for an evening of good food and company around the fire pit. 

The home is right at the heart of the pretty village of Goudhurst, so its shops and pubs are at most a nine-minute walk away. If it's castles and country walks you’re looking for, you’ve found the right spot. The National Trust’s Scotney Castle is thirteen minutes away by car, while Leeds Castle is a twenty-six-minute drive. 


Perchance To Dream

In its past life, this unique home used to be a research base for triangulated radar – now, it’s an acclaimed designer gem, perfect as a base for a romantic getaway. Situated near a functioning lighthouse, just steps away from the beach and surrounded by the Dungeness Nature Reserve, this place is a haven of peace and natural beauty. The inside boasts Scandi elegance and simplicity – and with a sauna, a luxurious sunken bathtub and a wood burner, it’s easy to see why this home is such a hit.

Surrounded by ancient woodlands, historic iron workings and picturesque meadows, The Writer's Cottage offers a charming escape to the rolling hills of High Weald, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in East Sussex. Hastings and Rye are both nearby, and easy to reach if you’re after a day trip. The cottage itself on a working farm, which has plenty to see, from the chickens to the orchards, and even the occasional pig. The garden is a lovely place to spend afternoons, and there’s a hot tub available, as well as a hammock slung between the trees. Then, as the night draws in, it’s hard to look past the wood-burning stove, which makes for a spectacularly cosy setting.
