Found on the forty-third floor, this two-bedroom North Acton apartment boasts breath-taking views. While maybe not ideal for those partial to vertigo, this home provides amenities in keeping with a high-end luxury flat – though it lacks a laundry room, this is compensated by a fully stocked kitchen, a bathtub in one of the two bathrooms, and an open, tastefully decorated living and dining area. You'll find this contemporary townhome in Barnes, just across the bridge from buzzy Hammersmith. It's located on a charming street close to the Thameside towpath and the area's pubs and restaurants, so there's plenty to do if you decide to stay local. Families and friends will have ample room to stretch out here. We love the cosy lounge, the light-filled kitchen, and the two comfortable bedrooms. Remote workers can get down to business in the separate study, which has a sofa bed for guests five and six. Factor in the sun-kissed patio, balcony, and private parking, and it's no surprise it caught our eye.

Barnes is one of London's most coveted neighbourhoods and it's homes like this that show you why. The Georgian townhouse is one of the oldest in Barnes Village — named as such since the area is bordered on three sides by the River Thames and parkland on the final side — although the interior is as modern as they come. Downstairs, the teal walls and dark brown floorboards make for an opulent canvas against which the varied artwork collection, marble kitchen surfaces and patterned ottoman stand out. As well as an additional living room geared towards movie nights, guests will also find a small patio filled with plants at the back of the property and a balcony with a view of the river. As well as sitting on a high street with plenty of shops and cafes, the Thames Path can be reached in just two minutes if you fancy a stroll, while the London Wetland Centre is just a fifteen-minute walk away also. The bright lights of Central London take just twenty minutes to get to on the train, too.

First of all, we love the book-filled living room with ming vases and object d’art adding a personal feel to the forest-green dresser. Big windows bathe this place in natural light. There’s a desk in here (and another in the second bedroom) for those that need to work remotely, and a collection of wines on display for a post-work wind-down. 

A wall of glass doors leads to the private patio garden, providing a lovely sun spot for those wishing to sit out and unwind long into the balmy summer evenings. Back inside, the dine-in kitchen is bright and sunny and the bathroom has a tub for a soak at the end of the day.

In terms of neighbourhood, you’re in leafy-green Chiswick – an affluent area with a friendly village-like feel, offering elegant eateries and a whole plethora of classy cafés and designer boutiques along the High Road. A fifteen-minute walk across the Kew Bridge sees you at the sprawling botanic gardens, while you can join the Thames River Path for a traffic-free stroll or cycle in just five minutes (your host kindly provides two bicycles for guest use). Hop on the Tube at Kew Bridge, a five-minute walk away, and be in the centre of London in around fifteen minutes.

Nestled between Fulham and Hammersmith, this apartment puts the River Thames at your fingertips. Though tucked away from the hustle and bustle in central London, you'll find pubs, shops, and eateries nearby – plus a Tube station is fifteen minutes away for adventures further afield. The apartment is set over the first and second levels, so there's a decent amount of space to get cosy. Unwind with a book in the living area, rustle up a meal in the kitchen, or relax in the three comfortable bedrooms (one of which is ideal for little ones). The cherry on top is the private garden, the perfect spot to spend summer evenings.

Close to upmarket Kensington and bohemian Notting Hill is the charming area of Brook Green. Known for its village atmosphere, period architecture and excellent transport links (Hammersmith, Goldhawk Road and Shepherds Bush stations are all within walking distance), this pocket of West London suits families, business travellers and those craving a quieter neighbourhood. Yet it's still close to excellent restaurants, cosy gastropubs, green spaces and plenty of shopping, with Westfield London (fifteen-minute stroll), Kensington High Street (twenty-minute walk) and Holland Park (thirty minutes on foot) all just a stone's throw away. This bright apartment in a picturesque mansion is the perfect place to rest your feet and recharge after a long day exploring. The fully-stocked kitchen has everything you'll need to rustle up a meal, while the cosy living area has a comfortable sofa, Freeview channels and DVD player for chilled nights at home. There's also a desk if you need to do some remote working, though we'd probably get distracted watching the world pass by outside the window. But our favourite feature is the sumptuous rolltop bath. We can't think of a better way to end the day than with a glass of wine, a good book and a relaxing soak. Pure bliss.

This chic and charming apartment is a great base for a visit to West London. It’s just a short walk from the famous Portobello Road Market, with Ladbroke Grove tube station providing excellent transport links to the rest of London. Despite its central location, this apartment boasts a tranquil setting on the ground floor of a Victorian house on a quiet road. It’s warm and welcoming, with sash windows bringing in lots of light. There’s a well-equipped kitchen, though with so many dining options nearby, you may find that you don’t need to cook at all.

A short walk from Kew Gardens and the namesake Tube station, this townhouse ticks all the boxes. It has space to spare across its four levels, and a lift connects the ground and first floors for those in wheelchairs. Downstairs is inviting as can be, from the cosy lounge to the light-filled kitchen. During the summer, you'll want to spend all your time in the garden, whether playing ping-pong or dining alfresco. This home is under the flight path, so noise is a given – still, we think the location is worth it. Cafes and restaurants are within walking distance, while chic Richmond and central London can easily be reached on the train.

Follow in Joe Strummer's bovver-booted footsteps while staying at this chic and sophisticated top-floor flat in London's sought-after Ladbroke Grove neighbourhood. While The Clash might have mythologised its mean streets back in the late 70s, today it's better known for its colourful houses, tree-lined boulevards and vibrant atmosphere that's popular with locals and tourists alike. 

The area is home to a mix of independent shops, trendy cafes, and delicious international restaurants, making it a food lover's paradise. One of the most famous local landmarks is the iconic Portobello Road Market, a stone's throw from your front door. It's a must-visit destination for anyone interested in antiques, vintage clothing, and unique trinkets. The neighbourhood also offers plenty of green spaces, including the beautiful Kensington Memorial Park and the tranquil Ladbroke Square Garden.

The house is spread over three floors and has a garden, so there’s plenty of space here to stretch out. We love the open-plan living and dining space, with its contemporary decor and breezy layout. The bedrooms are comfortable, and two of them have en-suite bathrooms. You’ll have everything you need here for a London break.

The Duke's Delight

Feather Quill is a comfortable and cosy home located in a picturesque grove area but still close to the bustling office area of Hammersmith. An eclectic selection of paintings and objects contrast with the minimal white aesthetic of the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom, which is part of a brand new extension. The quirky nature of the books and artworks around the desk area might not suit everyone, although it creates a relaxed, homely feel. We really liked the remote control blind system, which is excellent for a peaceful sleep.

We were instantly drawn to this West Kensington apartment's characterful interiors and prime location. Tucked away on a quiet residential street, there are brunch-worthy spots, shops and bars just a short stroll away. You’ve also got both West Kensington (three minutes on foot) and Baron's Court tube stations nearby, making it super easy to get around the city. While it’s not the biggest home in our Kensington collection, the soaring Victorian ceilings make all the difference. The lounge also has a sofa-bed, making it a practical pick for a small family or friends on a city break.

Baron's Place

Modern and bright, this apartment in the heart of Kensington is only minutes from London's beloved Hyde Park. You're also in close proximity to Notting Hill and some of the city's best museums. Plus, the nearby transport links can get you wherever else you want to go. So with a big tick on location, what else is on offer here? Well, the flat also isn't all that bad to look at. Plus, from its position above a pharmacy on the high street, the snug balcony lets you look out over the streets of this affluent neighbourhood.

There's something truly whimsical about this Fulham home which we love. For instance, not every place has a swan's head (with a crown no less) watching over proceedings. The absolute highlight here, though, is the pretty, sunny garden – the rattan sofa, surrounded by scented climbers, is the perfect spot for cocktails. Back through the Crittal style patio windows, you'll find a stylish kitchen with a dining area and, beyond that, an elegant living room with period character features such as a bay window. At the end of a busy day in London, we can't think of anything better than having a long luxurious soak in the silver freestanding bath.

Located in the leafy, sought-after neighbourhood of Parsons Green, you'll have an array of restaurants and bars nearby. If you crave more green space, go for a stroll around Eel Brook Common, within a fifteen-minute walk. Or explore the rest of London – Parsons Green Station, on the Wimbledon branch of the District line, is under five minutes on foot.

We adore the period features, such as the ornate cornices and sash windows, along with the herringbone wood floors, chic marble kitchen and bathroom. First of all, we'd suggest browsing the gorgeous boutiques of Westbourne Grove, right on your doorstep.
