One of the really great things about Buttercream is its location right by Hyde Park. It’s seriously well-connected too, with Bayswater and Queensway tube station both minutes from your front door. While the design of the home may be a little too minimalistic for some, it’s clean and modern with a great, recently renovated kitchen and a modern, marble bathroom. We also loved how quiet the home was, despite the busy surrounding area.

Buttercream

London is a city that isn't short of an art gallery or two and this apartment takes influence from some of these cultural institutions. Illuminated by natural light from the huge window at the far side of the living room, the white walls are covered with a huge range of colourful works and there are curios dotted about here and there, too.

In addition to this eye-catching decoration, the design is definitely contemporary in flavour, particularly the chic white leather sofa, transparent dining chairs and a minimalist kitchen heavy on the sleek surfaces. The mezzanine level adds another layer to this home — both figuratively and literally — and offers an office, as well as another cosy lounge.

Although the street on which this home resides is certainly residential, there's plenty to see and do nearby. The corner of the huge Kensington Gardens can be reached in only eight minutes on foot, while the vintage boutiques and cute brunch spots of Portobello Road take around five.

The Art Critic

This adults-only home provides a cosy retreat right in the heart of West London. And just like its surroundings, the rooms are packed with personality. There’s also a sweet little terrace – perfect for sunset drinks – plus a dedicated concierge service is on hand to ensure every moment of your stay feels personal. As this flat is above a cafe, you're just steps away from a delicious cup of coffee – although we suggest packing earplugs if you're sensitive to noise. From here, it’s just a short walk to Portobello Road and Notting Hill, with Royal Oak tube station just ten minutes away.

West London Fancy

From the cosy lounge to the adorable Paddington Bear-themed bedroom, this mews flat has family-living written all over it. Although the design is a little more homely, we appreciated the warm, lived-in feeling. Kick off your shoes and make yourself right at home, rustling up meals in the kitchen (which is well-stocked with cookware), snuggling up with a book on the sofa and retreating to the bedrooms for an afternoon snooze. Everything you'll need for a relaxing getaway is taken care of – Netflix streaming on the smart TV, Sonos speakers in the living area and high-end toiletries in the bathrooms. Best of all is the location. Tucked away on a pretty street just a few minutes walk from Paddington Station, this area is excellent for exploring. Start the day with a stroll through Hyde Park (ten minutes on foot), wander along the canal in Little Venice (a twelve-minute walk away) or hop on the tube and journey around the city. Finish the evening off with a pint and delicious meal at one of the pubs nearby – there's at least three within walking distance, so you'll have more than enough choice.

Marmalade

With Paddington Station a couple of streets away and the green expanse of Hyde Park a five-minute walk, this pristine apartment enjoys the best of central London. The surrounding streets are packed with global eateries and local pubs, and the Tube can whisk you into central London in around ten minutes. Pebble-grey and muted inside, this apartment is an oasis in the city. There’s plush dining for eight people, and enough room for the whole group to spread out in the living room. Each bedroom has bags of space – a rarity this close to the centre of London. But we love the orchids and white roses that add a touch of class to the luxe rooms.

Pebble Grey

This recently refurbished home is a true haven in one of the most sought-after neighbourhoods in London. Set right between the picturesque neighbourhoods of Paddington and Bayswater, this is the perfect spot for a romantic city stay for two or as a base for a solo traveller wanting to see what the city has to offer. You’ll have everything you need in this ground-floor apartment – high ceilings, a full kitchen and a spacious bedroom all await you here. When you’re ready to see the sights, Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are a short walk away – and nearby Paddington Station can take you almost anywhere else in the city.

The Chic Abode

Located on a charming Regency street just a six-minute walk from Bayswater, this modern home is the perfect base for a couple or solo traveller looking to explore London. Bright, stylish and comfortable, there’s an air of boudoir chic in the living room with its wood floors draped in a fluffy carpet, colour-popping chairs and hot pink desk space. We love the large French doors here that open out onto a private garden. Sit here first thing in the morning with your morning coffee, listening to the birdsong and enjoying the sweet perfume of the jasmine plants, then set out to explore the sights. Soak up the serenity of leafy Porchester Square – just across the street – or walk fifteen minutes to wander around colourful Notting Hill and famous Portobello Road. Little Venice’s beautiful canals and waterways are also a fifteen-minute walk away, while Hyde Park is reachable in twenty. After a day of sightseeing, come back home for a soak in the tub, then head back out to your peaceful outdoor haven for sundowners and an alfresco meal.

Live like a local at this modern home in stylish Notting Hill. There are an array of eateries within a five-minute walk and a highly regarded Michelin-starred restaurant an eleven-minute stroll away. Discover Notting Hill from this fuss-free apartment. Vintage shops, trendy eateries, and the famous Portobello Road Market are all within walking distance, as is a Tube station when you fancy exploring further afield. It's on the lower ground floor, so though it lacks a bit of natural light, the open-plan design works well for groups. There's a sleek (albeit compact) kitchen, a main suite with a desk for remote working, and a second bedroom that can be arranged with twin beds or a double to suit your needs. Guests five and six will sleep on a sofa bed – a fair compromise for this central location.

Portobello Peregrine

In the heart of colourful and cosmopolitan Notting Hill, this three-bedroom apartment is a luxurious place to sample the London lifestyle. It has everything you need for a relaxing stay with friends or family, including a large kitchen with lots of space to cook up a storm, and bright, cosy bedrooms (one of which opens onto a small patio). Whether you’re in the city for business or pleasure, the location couldn’t be better – just a short walk from Notting Hill Gate station, and close to Hyde Park for a lunchtime picnic or picturesque stroll.
