The attention to detail in this home is evident from the moment you arrive. We love how it has maintained a lot of the original features of the Grade-II listed building it is housed in, such as the sash windows and bedroom shutters. The interiors are very attractive with nods to mid-century design, which complement the period features for an elegant look. The location here won’t be for everyone, as the immediate area is lacking in attractions. But, you do have access to an allocated parking space and the train service into London Waterloo is frequent.

Located in Richmond upon Thames, one of London's most attractive boroughs, this home has a fabulous address. Keen gardeners will love it here – the house is just a three-minute stroll to the Lion Gate, one of the entrances to Kew Gardens. If that wasn't enough, your lovely hosts provide four free tickets to the gardens, and this membership also gives you 10% off the shop there. There are plenty of chic boutiques, restaurants and bars on your doorstep to sample. Or, go for a walk along Richmond Riverside and explore Richmond Park. You can reach Central London in thirty minutes by Tube or train too. 

Back at this home, enjoy a cup of tea in the garden with its pretty flower borders, or relax on the sofa in the living room and pick a book from the shelf. We love the French doors, which allow light to flood in, as well as the neutral hues enlivened by pops of blue and green. You'll find this contemporary townhome in Barnes, just across the bridge from buzzy Hammersmith. It's located on a charming street close to the Thameside towpath and the area's pubs and restaurants, so there's plenty to do if you decide to stay local. Families and friends will have ample room to stretch out here. We love the cosy lounge, the light-filled kitchen, and the two comfortable bedrooms. Remote workers can get down to business in the separate study, which has a sofa bed for guests five and six. Factor in the sun-kissed patio, balcony, and private parking, and it's no surprise it caught our eye.

Close to upmarket Kensington and bohemian Notting Hill is the charming area of Brook Green. Known for its village atmosphere, period architecture and excellent transport links (Hammersmith, Goldhawk Road and Shepherds Bush stations are all within walking distance), this pocket of West London suits families, business travellers and those craving a quieter neighbourhood. Yet it's still close to excellent restaurants, cosy gastropubs, green spaces and plenty of shopping, with Westfield London (fifteen-minute stroll), Kensington High Street (twenty-minute walk) and Holland Park (thirty minutes on foot) all just a stone's throw away. This bright apartment in a picturesque mansion is the perfect place to rest your feet and recharge after a long day exploring. The fully-stocked kitchen has everything you'll need to rustle up a meal, while the cosy living area has a comfortable sofa, Freeview channels and DVD player for chilled nights at home. There's also a desk if you need to do some remote working, though we'd probably get distracted watching the world pass by outside the window. But our favourite feature is the sumptuous rolltop bath. We can't think of a better way to end the day than with a glass of wine, a good book and a relaxing soak. Pure bliss.
