Located on the edge of the River Thames, this contemporary apartment delivers great views and a private terrace. It’s also conveniently located just a five-minute walk from Woolwich Dockyard Station, while the O2 Arena and the Excel Centre are also within easy reach. Private parking is available and all the essentials are provided to bring comfort to your stay. At full occupancy, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room but this is a great option for families and groups in search of a refreshing city stay. 

Thames Light

Set within an old Victorian school, this home is undeniably “old school” with its vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and climbing plants. While the other rooms aren’t quite as exciting as the living space, we are willing to look past this when considering the views of Canary Wharf. Especially at night, this is a sparkly cityscape you won’t get enough of. While the location is not your typical tourist destination and most will probably find it a little isolated, the streets have period character and the pubs are historic. 


Headmistress

When you're sitting amidst the earthy tones and quiet calmness of the garden, you won't believe you're in the City of London. The idyllic space has a relaxed serenity that belies its central location. 

Spend cosy mornings here with a coffee, slowly waking up with the city around you. In the evenings, fire up the BBQ and gather around the cute table, sharing bites of grilled burgers and bottles of crisp wine. 

When the weather's not on your side, move into the chic style of your home. The earthy palette continues throughout the open plan living room and kitchen – light, brown shades mingle with the pure white tones on the walls and kitchen counter. 

There's even paintings of floral and natural themes – alongside a catalogue of plants –  to further the earthy energy. A sofa and straw chair present cosy places to relax, or you can perch at the breakfast bar with a selection of toast and jams. 

For more intimate dining, share snacks and a bottle of wine on the circular dining table. But, since you're so close to various pubs, bars and restaurants, you may as well sample the local joints. We suggest the pretty pubs and bars around St Katharine's Docks for good food with a picturesque view.


Coming of Age

If form and function are what you're after, this could be the homestay for you. Located in Canary Wharf – a vibrant neighbourhood rich in waterside walks, bars, and restaurants – there's tonnes to see and do around here. And, being well-connected to the city, you can be in the heart of the action in no time. With the O2, Greenwich Observatory, and Tower of London just a short train ride away, and lots of shops within walking distance, this is a solid choice for those who want to have easy access to London's hotspots while enjoying a more local way of life.

Canary Wharf Skyline

If you’re keen to drop off your bags and immerse yourself in London life, this modern apartment will be right up your street. Contemporary and comfortable, it promises a serene stay with riverside views from the large balcony that you’ll never tire of. Location-wise, whether you’re in the city for business or leisure, you’re in for a treat. The entertainment, dining and drinks options are endless in the surrounding area, and a boat tour on the Thames gives you a different perspective on the city. For trips further afield, simply hop on the Tube at Canary Wharf – sightseeing spots are within easy reach. 

River Reflection

In North Greenwich, this sleek apartment is right next to the O2 Arena. It's only a five-minute walk from the area's world-class shopping, dining, and entertainment options – not to mention an easy stroll from North Greenwich Station if adventures into central London are on the cards. Back home, we can't get enough of the Thames views. The private balcony is the perfect spot to admire them – nothing beats unwinding with a cocktail and watching the Emirates Cable Cars glide across the river. Despite one bedroom having a floor mattress and a sofa bed, every room is bright and contemporary in style. For a modern getaway, look no further.

Riverside Serenade

Get a taste of that iconic brand of East London cool by staying at this quirky pad situated in the heart of Bethnal Green. Close to Victoria Park, Columbia Road Flower Market and countless other East London attractions, and with great transport links with the centre, this is a perfect base for those visiting the capital and wanting to experience a side of it that is far away from the usual tourist trails. 

We love the eclectic mix of styles and textures which all come together to create a unique ambience – from exposed bricks to statement-making staircases and wooden floors. The open-plan living room offers plenty of comfy nooks for kicking back and relaxing at the end of a long day of dashing about town, and should a chillier evening happen to come about, there’s even a wood-burning stove for added warmth. On the other side, the modern kitchen invites you to rustle up some delicious meals which can be savoured at the dining table or out on the roof terrace. 

Head upstairs for a night of sweet dreams, but before you drift off to sleep in the four-poster bed, treat yourself to an indulgent soak in the freestanding bathtub. 

East Is Cool 

Set in the beating heart of London’s financial district, this sleek apartment in Canary Wharf is an ideal home for business travellers but would serve equally well as a base for a romantic city break for two. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in bags of light, high-quality linens guarantee a great night’s sleep and the kitchen has everything you need to rustle up something delicious when you’re not taking advantage of London’s fabulous dining scene. Our favourite feature is the balcony with its commanding views over the docks. Canary Wharf can be quieter at the weekends but you’re within a ten-minute walk of Canary Wharf station where you can hop onto the DLR or the Jubilee Line to chase the buzz in Greenwich, London Bridge or the city centre.

Gold Quay

This impressive Georgian house makes for a splendid base near Greenwich. It’s in Blackheath’s Westcombe Park Conservation Area, a short walk from Greenwich Park. Westcombe Park station is a seven-minute walk, where you can be whisked to London Bridge in just twelve minutes. This home blends period elegance with modern luxury, with a grand hallway, double reception room with a piano, and even a games room with a four-hole putting green and ping pong table. There’s also a cinema room and a fully-equipped kitchen – you’ll have everything you’ll need here. 

Greenwich Treasure

Situated in the city's heart, this warehouse conversion has a fabulous address just off Bermondsey Street, so it's a short stroll from some of London's most iconic landmarks. We're talking London Bridge, The Shard (the capital’s tallest building), the historic Borough Market and the River Thames. Add to this, plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars, and you have the perfect location.

Here at Plum Guide, we love a bit of industrial chic, and this apartment certainly doesn't disappoint. There are exposed beams, stripped-back brick walls and a sleek kitchenette hidden by rolling-back wooden doors.
 

 Pour a glass of wine and relax on the yellow armchair or comfy sofa, surrounded by vibrant art. Through the Crittall-style doors, you'll find the main bedroom with its super king-sized bed. The second bedroom has a retro record player, so put some vinyl on and unwind before heading out for the evening.

Warehouse Wonders

Whether you’re in London for business or leisure, this fuss-free apartment offers an ideal base away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The desk space in the living room makes remote working a breeze, while the cosy balcony is just the spot for morning coffee as you drink in the views across London. Victoria Park is a mere ten minutes away on foot when you crave a little greenery, and Roman Road Market, five minutes away, is well worth a visit – vintage clothing and artisanal food await.
