A little green hiding place in East London, this vintage-lovers paradise manages to mix thrift shop finds with high-end necessities. It’s a sweet spot that feels homely but certainly doesn’t scrimp on quality or comfort. You’ll be sharing the space with an impressive collection of houseplants, but that’s part of its charm. We love the well-equipped kitchen in miniature and the deep, dark blue of the Victorian bathroom, complete with a claw foot bath for taking a long soak. Pop on the Bluetooth Marshall amp or record player, and enjoy some time away from the busy streets of the capital. Outside, there’s a small but no-less-welcome terrace, which brings a tiny bit of nature into the breathable living space. Located in a lively and interesting part of the city, with the weekly Chatsworth Road Market on your doorstep, there’s plenty to explore, including a host of indy shops and eateries. And it’s only a ten-minute walk to Homerton overground station or twenty minutes to Hackney Central if you fancy seeing what else London has to offer.

Behind a beautifully renovated townhouse facade lies an interior that is bright and beautiful in equal measures. The living room has the feel of a contemporary art gallery, with high ceilings, parquet flooring and striking pieces on the wall. Although saying that, we haven't been to a gallery with such cute pastel-pink, tufted furnishings. 

The kitchen is just as striking, thanks to the large windows, the flurry of house plants and handsome marble surfaces. So striking in fact, that we crowned it 'kitchen of the year' on Instagram. As well as letting in copious amounts of natural light, the French door also leads out to a charming garden space with some seating for warm evenings. 

Upstairs, the bedrooms are both large and equipped with regal beds, while there's even a balcony space looking out over the rooftops of East London and the distant skyscrapers in The City. However, you don't even have to go far to find things to do in the neighbourhood. Just around the corner, there's the Castle Cinema — an Art Deco building reopened after a local crowdfunding campaign — and Chatsworth Market, which runs every Sunday with a great range of independent stalls.

The East London location might not be for everyone but this super cool loft has heaps of character and a young couple will enjoy the hipster nightlife nearby. It might be a cliche to say that Hackney is one of the trendiest parts of London, but that doesn't mean it's not true – especially with homes like this to be discovered there. But location isn't the only thing we love – the apartment itself is modern, welcoming, and bright. We love the skylights and breezy living space, equipped with everything we need to unwind. The cherry on top is the private rooftop terrace, perfect for enjoying a glass of wine while enjoying the view.

Located on the edge of Hackney Marshes, this characterful Edwardian home makes a great base for an inspiring city stay. From here, you can stroll to Chatsworth Road and it’s just a ten-minute walk to Homerton Station – ensuring smooth connections with the rest of London. Wherever the day takes you, this home invites you to get cosy in the living room and enjoy heartwarming gatherings in the open-plan kitchen. There is also a little garden with outdoor seating – perfect for warm-weather drinks. It’s worth noting this is a family home with lots of quirks and personal touches, but we think it’s the little details that make this one special.

This stylish apartment has a prestigious location in Shoreditch, in a landmark building designed by the renowned architects Foster + Partners. We love the ensuite bathroom, beautifully finished with marble. The open-plan living space is flooded with lots of natural light with large windows overlooking London. However, the absolute highlights here for us are the indoor lap pool and spa – perfect for relaxing after a busy day. There's also a residents' lounge, a state-of-the-art gym, and a cinema, so there's plenty to keep you occupied.

If all this wasn't enough, this home has a fabulous address. It's a twelve-minute walk to East London Tech City, otherwise known as Silicon Roundabout, while Spitalfields Market is a four-minute saunter. With its public gardens, bars, and restaurants, Hoxton Square is a seven-minute wander, or art lovers can head to the Barbican Arts Centre, seventeen minutes away on foot.

The blue kitchen is as sleek as they come, with stone-composite work surfaces and in-built lighting, while the underfloor heating is sure to be appreciated in the winter months, too. The cherry on the cake is the building's communal gym, which guests are free to visit should they wish.

Right on the edge of Epping Forest, this beautiful semi-detached Edwardian house has been renovated to an exacting standard, while still retaining many of its original features. The open kitchen living area is the heart of the house, and is bathed in plenty of natural light thanks to glass doors spanning the width of the room and a large skylight. High ceilings, mature indoor plants, and contemporary art characterise the space, alongside Scandi woods and statement pottery. The glass doors lead out onto the private garden, complete with a trampoline for the kids to bounce on, and an outdoor table for long summer lunches. 

Each of the bedrooms is full of charm, decorated with antique furniture and unique trinkets to make you feel right at home. We love the kids’ room, which is full of stuffed toys and books to keep your little one amused throughout your stay. The house is on a peaceful square, one minute walk from Epping Forest. Take a picnic to Hollow Pond in the summertime and watch the rowboats bobbing along the water. You’ll be right on the edge of Walthamstow, the trendy London neighbourhood full of independent coffee shops, vintage boutiques, and excellent restaurants. This area enjoys a village feel and is surrounded by green space – but the hustle and bustle of Central London can still be reached in thirty-five minutes via public transport.

Enjoy a stay in Shoreditch, one of London's hippest neighbourhoods. With bars, restaurants, and an Overground station just a short stroll away, you'll have everything you need within easy reach. Brick Lane is also within walking distance – head there for vintage finds and fantastic street food. Taking inspiration from its surroundings, this lofty apartment is as comfortable as it is cool. It's spread across two floors, so there's plenty of room to unwind. Even better, you'll have two balconies to choose from – both ideal for cocktails before a night on the town.

You'll find this apartment in Tottenham Hale, a short ride on the Victoria Line from central London. Bright and modern, it's an excellent fit for professionals. There's a balcony with city views, a well-appointed kitchen, and speedy wi-fi if working from home is on the agenda. Even better, the building has a communal roof terrace, an on-site fitness centre with a yoga studio, and a shared games room that you're welcome to take advantage of. That's all our boxes checked.

With at least two coffee shops and two pubs only a two-minute walk away, this Hackney home is where comfort and creativity come out to play. Walk into any room here and you’ll be met by striking art that sits in beautiful contrast against the statement walls and wooden floors. Furnished with style and comfort in mind, everything that occupies this space doesn’t just look good, but it serves to make your stay as cosy as possible. Head outside first thing in the morning to enjoy your coffee – if you’re early enough you might even catch the sunrise – or  spend hours reading on the floral chair with the fire crackling next to you. Head into the kitchen to work on an elaborate Full English for breakfast, but not before opening the bifold doors and putting some soft music on, dance like no ones watching whilst you cook and gather around the beautiful dining table to eat and plan the day.

With London being as well connected as it is, this marvellous city is your oyster – Buckingham Palace is a forty-minute journey on public transport and from there you can easily take a twenty-five minute walk to Oxford Circus for a bit of shopping, or walk the same distance in a different direction and get to the London Eye where you can marvel at the amazing views over the city. Closer to home, you can spend an entire day at Victoria Park – an eight-minute walk away – just remember the picnic blanket, supplies and a good book, before ending your day with a cold pint in one of the many surrounding pubs

The Westfield shopping centre, with its alfresco dining, a twenty-four-screen cinema, a casino and, of course, lots of shops, is within a five-minute stroll of this apartment. When you want to explore the rest of London, Stratford International station is a five-minute walk, and the Eurostar (St Pancras International) is a quick seven-minute train journey from Stratford International. There is a cycle hire right outside the apartment block too. After all that shopping or exploring, there’s a private balcony to relax on at this modern, light-filled apartment which has a homely vibe with its plants and prints.

There are bars and restaurants nearby, as well as excellent transport links to the rest of London, and you’ll only be a twelve-minute walk from the Barbican Centre. Sadler’s Wells Theatre is also a short walk away, making this a great choice for those visiting London for a show. The apartment is contemporary but cosy, with attractive high-end finishes and a petite balcony. At full occupancy, four guests will sleep on two sofa beds in the living space, which might feel a little crowded for longer stays.

We particularly like the dining area, which features a retro dining table and a large vintage mirror. The second bedroom is equipped with a single bed with a trundle underneath it that opens into a double bed.

This is a soulful space for those after a more alternative place to stay when they're visiting the UK's capital. Part of a converted former piano factory, the interior is instantly uplifting thanks to the array of bold modern artwork, statement wallpaper and house plants dotted about. You can tell it's been put together by somebody with an artistic disposition. It's up on the second floor with views from the Juliet balconies over the rooftops of Stoke Newington, a quiet neighbourhood with a great village vibe. If you want to explore, the host has left their Dutch bike and guests are free to borrow it. Alternatively, you can rent her car, which is parked in the on-site car park. Clissold Park is only two minutes' walk up the road and is home to a small deer farm. Likewise, Church Street takes only six minutes to reach on foot and offers cosy restaurants, traditional boozers and vintage shops.

This sublime property has won an architectural prize, it’s located next to an Overground station and it’s curated to perfection. Modern and connected to the surrounding, it’s a pure joy for curious people who get excited by design.

Surrounded by characterful pubs and fine eateries, this home is nestled between the lively neighbours of Islington and Dalston. The open-plan living area has plenty of space and natural light, especially for a flat – thanks, in part, to skylights and bi-fold doors allowing sunlight to bounce off the white walls. When the weather is nice, the terraces and garden beckon, offering perfect spots for a glass of wine after exploring the city. And for the drizzly days that London is a little more known for, we can't imagine anything better than turning on the underfloor heating and curling up on the sofa with a cup of tea.

Location-wise, the expansive Regent’s Park and the panoramic views from Primrose Hill are just a short distance away for dog walks (four-legged friends are welcome here, too).
