London is a city that isn't short of an art gallery or two and this apartment takes influence from some of these cultural institutions. Illuminated by natural light from the huge window at the far side of the living room, the white walls are covered with a huge range of colourful works and there are curios dotted about here and there, too.

In addition to this eye-catching decoration, the design is definitely contemporary in flavour, particularly the chic white leather sofa, transparent dining chairs and a minimalist kitchen heavy on the sleek surfaces. From the cosy lounge to the adorable Paddington Bear-themed bedroom, this mews flat has family-living written all over it. Although the design is a little more homely, we appreciated the warm, lived-in feeling. Kick off your shoes and make yourself right at home, rustling up meals in the kitchen (which is well-stocked with cookware), snuggling up with a book on the sofa and retreating to the bedrooms for an afternoon snooze. Everything you'll need for a relaxing getaway is taken care of – Netflix streaming on the smart TV, Sonos speakers in the living area and high-end toiletries in the bathrooms. Best of all is the location. Tucked away on a pretty street just a few minutes walk from Paddington Station, this area is excellent for exploring. Start the day with a stroll through Hyde Park (ten minutes on foot), wander along the canal in Little Venice (a twelve-minute walk away) or hop on the tube and journey around the city. Finish the evening off with a pint and delicious meal at one of the pubs nearby – there's at least three within walking distance, so you'll have more than enough choice.
