There are views out over this Mayfair street from this apartment’s large windows. If you’re looking for a more lived-in feel, we’d say this home is more minimal in its décor and furnishings. Also, at full capacity, the dining room may feel a bit cramped, but with all these eateries on your doorstep, will you be dining in much?

With the bustling Shaftesbury Avenue right on your doorstep, this pad on the cusp of Soho is the perfect base for a London getaway. Here, mid-century cool meets minimal Scandi design – think clean lines, contemporary decor and chic Hem furniture that's as comfy as it is stylish. We loved how roomy and open the flat is – you won't be cramped for space (which is rare for this central postcode). The sleek kitchen is fully stocked with plates, cutlery and other cookware to make self-catering easy, although you'll probably prefer dining out at the number of trendy bars, gourmet restaurants and unique eateries on your doorstep. In the evenings, unwind on the squishy sectional sofa with a glass of wine and your favourite Netflix show before snuggling up in the cushy bed. Or, if you crave a night on the town, you can catch a show in the West End, dance the night away at Soho's swinging clubs or grab a drink at one of the traditional pubs. Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square tube stations are both a five-minute stroll, so getting around the city is a piece of cake. And with Chinatown, Oxford Street and Covent Garden all a stone's throw from this flat, you'll never run out of things to do.

Deciding where to stay in London can be tricky. Go east for gritty, hipster hangouts? Or west, for the huge open spaces and swish designer boutiques? Well, we think there's only one answer – stay as central as you can. And it doesn't get any more heart-of-the-action than this chic, modern flat just a few steps from Shaftesbury Avenue. The boutiques in Covent Garden, nightlife in Soho, shows in the West End and food of Chinatown are all just a stroll away. But it's not just the location that makes this home so special – we loved the interior, too. There's a cool Scandi feel about the decor, with large prints on the wall, Hem designer furniture and leafy houseplants dotted about. Everything you'll need is taken care of, be it crisp white linens and plenty of crockery to Netflix on the TV and toiletries in the bathroom. Our favourite spot was the bedroom, with its Juliet balcony and huge built-in wardrobes that make unpacking a dream – you'll have more than enough space to try on outfits before heading out for a night on the town. Whether you're unwinding with a glass of wine and a film on the cushy sofa, sharing a meal around the table or snoozing in the bed, we think you'll love calling this contemporary pad home during a say in the Big Smoke.

Soho State Of Mind

There might not appear to be a better selling point than this apartment’s incredible, central location, but its stylish interior and home comforts do their best to compete. Like a sparkling show home, the interior is crisp and classy, with comfortable furnishings and pops of colour. In your own little bubble above the busy streets below, you can block out the rest of the world and relax – or get some work done from home. The tube stations of Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus are only minutes away to take you all the way around the city, and if you're planning to sample some of London's fabulous bars and restaurants, you'll be practically tripping over them as soon as you walk out the door.

Bustle Bubble

Smack bang in the heart of Soho, this apartment is just a short stroll from London’s best shops, restaurants and bars. If sightseeing is on the cards, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace are all within a twenty-five-minute walking radius. The home has everything you need for a comfortable short break, including a well-appointed kitchenette and weekly housekeeping. At capacity, two will be on the sofa bed in the living space – an arrangement we think is better suited for children.

Keen to be in the heart of the action? This contemporary apartment near vibrant Piccadilly Circus will be right up your street. Sure, at full occupancy, two people will sleep on the sofa bed in the living room, but it’s worth it for this home’s enviable location. With trendy eateries and Michelin-starred restaurants lining the local streets, dining out is sure to be on the menu, while St. James’s Park and Green Park provide the perfect spot for a picnic.
