Despite the leafy surrounds, you’ll be just a short walk from the eateries and supermarkets of Lordship Lane, and one minute from a bus stop. It takes just twelve minutes on the bus to reach the Dulwich Picture Gallery. The apartment is comfortable and convenient, with a contemporary, state-of-the-art kitchen and tranquil bedrooms. This unique, self-built home in Brockley starts to put on a show the moment guests walk down the quiet mews street on which it hides away. The striking rust-coloured and geometric exterior embraces industrial-chic trends, but it gives no indication of the sophisticated interior that lies behind the front door. Step inside and you'll find a magazine-worthy home where natural light is allowed to pour in through the glass doors and skylights, and colourful pieces of original artwork arranged tastefully about the place grab your attention. The furnishings are mainly mid-century and Scandinavian in inspiration, while the surfaces on the black kitchen are as sleek as they come. One of our favourite parts has to be the outside terrace, though, where a landscape gardener has packed plant beds full of native New Zealand plants and brings a touch of wilderness to this corner of South London. As only feels appropriate for this stylish home, it's located in and close to some of London's trendiest neighbourhoods, nestled in the trifecta of Lewisham, New Cross and Peckham.

Known for its impressive street food vendors and coveted culinary scene, this is the place to be if you’re looking to sample some of London’s best bites. You’re also just a stone’s throw from Tower Bridge, the Thames, and London Bridge Station for quick connections across the city. As for the apartment itself, the contemporary design is comfortable and sleek. One bedroom boasts an en-suite while the other offers river views. Just note that two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the living room, and the area is prone to occasional noise from nearby trains – all part and parcel of central living.

The home consists of two separate apartments – although it won't suit everyone, there's plenty of space. In addition to a bedroom and a bathroom, each flat has its own kitchen and living space (just note that one is smaller). The cherry on top is the terrace overlooking the Shard – the perfect spot to nibble on goodies you got at the market.

As for the location, it’s perfect for business travellers and tourists alike. You’re close to the South Bank riverside, to Bermondsey’s cool restaurants and micro-breweries, to foodie Borough Market and to London Bridge station and Underground.

Moments from Elephant and Castle tube station, this home provides a stylish city sanctuary. Inside, you’ll find thoughtfully designed rooms bring ease to daily living, while the private garden offers a sweet spot for summer afternoon drinks. There is no private parking available here, but it’s just a short walk to the nearest shops, restaurants and cafes. Plus, the close proximity to the tube station means its easy to get across London.

Cross the gangplank onto this incredible floating home near the Thames. Moored just a couple of blocks from Tower Bridge, this former 1930s steel barge is a ten-minute walk from the Tower of London. The top deck has been converted into a long, open living space with views of St Katharine Docks Marina from the huge windows. We love the semi-outdoor dining room, housed in a glass atrium-style space to the rear of the ship, with seating for ten. Choose to relax in the stylish white lounge on the upper deck, or head downstairs to the snug with its u-shaped sofa around a striking suspended fireplace. Bedrooms are on the lower deck, but that doesn’t mean dark cabins with tiny portholes. Spacious rooms have walls of windows and if there are portholes, they’re the size of a bass drum, letting in tonnes of natural light. If you manage to bag the master bedroom, its en-suite comes with a sauna. Welcome aboard, matey!

This stunning Victorian warehouse has been converted into a stylish, vibrant home in Borough, one of London’s most interesting neighbourhoods. You’ll be just a short stroll from Borough Market, as well as being next to Southwark Cathedral and Clink Street. For exploration further afield, you need only walk 190 metres to London Bridge station to hop on the Jubilee Line. We love the terrace, from which you can admire the Shard, and the quirky, colourful decor. There are lots of stairs to climb so it won’t be suitable for everyone, but if you can manage them, you’ll be rewarded with one of the coolest bases in Borough.

You'll find this contemporary apartment in St Katharine Dock, just a stone's throw from Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, and Tower Hill. Whether you're a first-time visitor keen to sightsee or a business traveller needing to work from home, this pad has you covered. There's a desk in the bedroom, a living area with a sofa bed, and a private balcony offering a view of Tower Bridge and the Shard. Style-wise, it's definitely on the simpler side, but we think the views and location speak for themselves.

Dockside Delight

This unique penthouse was the top floor of a chamois leather factory in the 1900s. It’s now been converted into a quirky home-from-home in London, in an excellent location just off Bermondsey Street. The Tower of London is just across the river, and London Bridge station is a short walk away. The apartment boasts double-height ceilings, exposed brick and beams, and large windows that look out over London rooftops. Look out for the original winch that hoisted the leathers up to the third floor. While four guests can be accommodated here – with two sleeping on the sofa bed – we think it’s a more comfortable base for two.

This has got to be one of the most amazing views in London. Moored near Tower Bridge on the Thames’ south bank, this stunning home is the former 'HMS Harpy’. Once an Edwardian base for customs and excise officers, and a landing stage for King George V, it’s now a unique and beautifully maintained floating home. The oldest and one of the largest homes on the river, The Harpy is unlike purpose-built houseboats – all the cabins are above water level with river views. History fans and nautical nuts will have plenty to get their teeth into, those interested in luxury river living will appreciate the opportunity to sit out on deck, and if vintage furniture is your thing you'll be able to explore pieces from the 1920s, '30s, and '50s. The dining table was even designed for Winston Churchill's home, Chartwell. We love the vast living space on the upper deck – it's bright, comfortable, and full of character. Bedrooms and bathrooms are nostalgic and the kitchen is well fitted out for cooking onboard. There's mains electricity, obviously, as well as mains gas for heating and cooking, and filtered mains water. All the mod cons are present too, from Wifi and Sky Q TV to gate entry phones and Sonos. So well-known that it's been featured in several movies (most notably A Fish Called Wanda), a stay here is an all-round incredible experience and one you'll be talking about for years to come.

This stunning apartment boasts views of several of London’s most iconic sights, including Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, The Shard, and Canary Wharf. There are two full-length parallel balconies for you to enjoy the vistas. Location-wise, you’ll be a stone’s throw from Tower Bridge and within easy walking distance of the Tate Modern and the City. The apartment is modern and sleek, with high-end appliances and amenities to make your stay all the more comfortable – in winter, the underfloor heating is a real bonus. Two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living space, but for these views, we can easily forgive that.

This modern home has a neutral and minimalistic style that will suit those who like their spaces clean and uncluttered. It’s a new building, so it’s been thoughtfully designed, with a surplus of natural light and brightness. But the star of the show here is that all-too-rare of London amenities, an outside space. We can think of nothing better than a balmy summer evening spent out in your private garden with friends or family. On top of that, you'll find a charming little balcony from the master bedroom to sip your morning coffee and ease into the day. Inside, it's a picture of pearly white furnishings, sleek surfaces and monochromatic artwork. You'll notice cream sofas, ghost chairs and a large ornate mirror in the bedrooms, creating an air of elegance around the home. Plus, there's a light and tidy study area for those looking to work from home during their stay. Outside, we really liked the home’s location – the top attractions on picturesque Bermondsey Street are just a five-minute walk away. Although the real highlight is the home's proximity to London Bridge – under twenty minutes (on foot) from The Shard and the surrounding hub, full to the brim with fine-dine restaurants and hip bars.

Mentioned in the Domesday Book, painted by Turner and within earshot of the bells of Mary-le-Bow church – and thus considered Cockney by many – the London enclave of Bermondsey remains close to the action. A five-minute walk to Canada Water station will see you quickly shopping or attending a meeting in Docklands or the City, while the nightlife and galleries of the East End and countless shops of the West End are within easy reach, too – as is the River Thames. Sipping your tea (milk and sugar optional) on the balcony, cast your eye over the treetops and church towers of South-east London, or spot the angled towers and domes created by London’s architectural innovators through the centuries. It's not in the most well-known part of London, but you will certainly be able to get to know the city from this home’s remarkable vista. The London Observatory views the entirety of the city, including landmarks such as the London Eye and The Shard. It's ideal for a family or a group of friends looking to stay somewhere with a difference. The home also has luxurious bathroom spaces, a modern kitchen and an in-house concierge.

Located in Bermondsey, on the edge of tranquil Southwark Park, you're just 10 minutes by tube from London Bridge. Enjoy your morning coffee on the balcony each morning, as you plan your day. The floor-to-ceiling glass windows let plenty of light into the living room, and you'll enjoy cooking meals in the fully-equipped kitchen. Though you can explore all of London in no time at all from nearby Bermondsey tube station, don't miss your chance to enjoy the local area too. Back at this apartment, there’s plenty of natural light thanks to the French doors. One thing to note – access to the kitchen is quite narrow, due to the dining table which seats four.

This stylish, couple's hideaway, housed in a Victorian warehouse, in a cobbled courtyard in Central London, is just over a five-minute walk from The Shard. For artisan produce, head to one of the city's largest and oldest food markets, Borough Market, a four-minute wander. If you love art, the Tate Modern is ten minutes on foot, while one of London's most iconic landmarks, Tower Bridge, is under a twenty-minute saunter. Of course, there are plenty of restaurants and chic bars on your doorstep in this desirable location – there's even a historic wine bar one-minute away. You don't have to go anywhere, though, to admire Britain's tallest building – The Shard is thrillingly visible from your bedroom window. We love the designer furniture here, from the Isamu Noguchi coffee table and Eames chairs to the Italian suede sofa – all shown off to perfection by the walnut floors and exposed brick walls. Pour a glass of Champagne and survey the city from the Juliet balcony, then whip up some dinner in the sleek kitchen. We were surprised how tranquil this sunny home is, given its fabulous location – it’s a quiet haven after all that sightseeing.

We're talking London Bridge, The Shard (the capital’s tallest building), the historic Borough Market and the River Thames. Here at Plum Guide, we love a bit of industrial chic, and this apartment certainly doesn't disappoint. There are exposed beams, stripped-back brick walls and a sleek kitchenette hidden by rolling-back wooden doors.
 

 Pour a glass of wine and relax on the yellow armchair or comfy sofa, surrounded by vibrant art. Through the Crittall-style doors, you'll find the main bedroom with its super king-sized bed. Elephant & Castle Station is less than ten minutes on foot, while sightseeing hotspots like the South Bank, Westminster, and Buckingham Palace are also within easy reach. Your host is also happy to arrange any services or extras you may need, from pre-arrival groceries to bespoke London experiences.

A Toast to London

Moments from the banks of the River Thames, this Southwark apartment has been thoughtfully curated as a city sanctuary. Inside, the open-plan design makes it easy to relax, cook or catch up on work. It’s worth noting the second bedroom is compact, but it does open up onto a private terrace – perfect for evening drinks. Outside, it’s just a short walk to iconic landmarks like Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and the Shard. There are also great public transport links and you’ll find Borough Market, historic pubs and galleries are all within easy reach. 

Lightness of Life

Modern and bright, this apartment is close to several restaurants and cafes. But the proximity to some of London's most iconic sights is what makes it feel special, including Borough Market, the Tate Modern, and Tower Bridge. Though it's still roomy enough for six, we think this works best for a small family or two couples. If you do choose to sleep two additional guests on the sofa bed, you can always find extra breathing room on the terrace. It overlooks neighbours and isn't the most private, but it is a nice bonus – especially in central London.
