This stylish apartment has a prestigious location in Shoreditch, in a landmark building designed by the renowned architects Foster + Partners. We love the ensuite bathroom, beautifully finished with marble. The open-plan living space is flooded with lots of natural light with large windows overlooking London. However, the absolute highlights here for us are the indoor lap pool and spa – perfect for relaxing after a busy day. There's also a residents' lounge, a state-of-the-art gym, and a cinema, so there's plenty to keep you occupied.

If all this wasn't enough, this home has a fabulous address. It's a twelve-minute walk to East London Tech City, otherwise known as Silicon Roundabout, while Spitalfields Market is a four-minute saunter. With its public gardens, bars, and restaurants, Hoxton Square is a seven-minute wander, or art lovers can head to the Barbican Arts Centre, seventeen minutes away on foot.

This apartment sits more or less on the dividing line where central London ends and the east side of the city begins. You'll see that it's a clash of two cultures — in one direction, you have glass skyscrapers housing financial institutions close to Liverpool Street and on the other, it's reclaimed industrial space, street art on nearly every surface and the buzzy bars and clubs of Shoreditch. There's no doubting it's an interesting location, but this penthouse home is equally noteworthy. The standout feature here is the private wraparound balcony — south and west-facing, as well — which offers a wonderful setting for pre-dinner cocktails and even a glimpse of the Shard. Back inside, we're also big fans of the large open living area, decked out with bare wood flooring and fashionable grey furnishings. Prepare for negotiations over the bedrooms — one has direct access to the outdoor terrace, but the other has an inviting-looking bathtub in the ensuite. However, squabbles can wait until you've seen a bit of the city first. If you’re heading out for an evening meal, the famous Brick Lane is just four minutes' walk from your front door and boasts an impressive number of Bengali restaurants, as well as vintage stores and all-night bagel joints.

The design is definitely Scandi in influence — clock the clean lines and preference for wood surfaces — but the abstract artwork stops it from feeling too identikit. Rather pleasingly for a home for two, the cobalt kitchen has a wealth of sleek surface space for whipping up romantic dinners, while the pristinely tiled bathroom has a tub that will surely sing to you after a long day on your feet.

Although the surrounding neighbourhood has a welcomingly quiet residential feel, some of the UK capital's most famous sights are only a short walk away — both The British Museum and St Paul's Cathedral will take you all of twenty minutes to reach.

This stylish, couple's hideaway, housed in a Victorian warehouse, in a cobbled courtyard in Central London, is just over a five-minute walk from The Shard. For artisan produce, head to one of the city's largest and oldest food markets, Borough Market, a four-minute wander. If you love art, the Tate Modern is ten minutes on foot, while one of London's most iconic landmarks, Tower Bridge, is under a twenty-minute saunter. Of course, there are plenty of restaurants and chic bars on your doorstep in this desirable location – there's even a historic wine bar one-minute away. You don't have to go anywhere, though, to admire Britain's tallest building – The Shard is thrillingly visible from your bedroom window. We love the designer furniture here, from the Isamu Noguchi coffee table and Eames chairs to the Italian suede sofa – all shown off to perfection by the walnut floors and exposed brick walls. Pour a glass of Champagne and survey the city from the Juliet balcony, then whip up some dinner in the sleek kitchen. We were surprised how tranquil this sunny home is, given its fabulous location – it’s a quiet haven after all that sightseeing.

Our favourite room is the glossy kitchen, which is decked out with all the amenities you'll need – double Siemens ovens, a humidity-controlled fridge, top-of-the-range cookware and even a Nordic Quooker boiling tap, just to name a few. We think keen chefs and amateur cooks alike will love rustling up a tasty breakfast or hearty dinner under the skylight. 

Both bedrooms are as comfortable as they are stylish – one even has access to a small, narrow patio – and the bathrooms are the definition of grand, with their lavish rainfall showers and polished marble walls. And we adore the exposed grey brick scattered around, most notably in the living room – it's the perfect area to relax after a busy day taking advantage the pubs, bookstores and museums that dot this corner of London. 

Speaking of location, Bloomsbury is an excellent base for a stay in the capital. The British Museum is only thirteen minutes on foot, while iconic spots like Covent Garden, St Paul's Cathedral and Trafalgar Square are also within walking distance – about half an hour, give or take. Whether you want to shop on Oxford Street, sample the gastronomic delights in Soho or just roam the city in search of adventure, you'll be well-placed for exploring – especially with Chancery Lane station less than ten minutes away.

An unforgettable stay awaits in this stunning warehouse conversion. Boasting wooden beams, high ceilings, exposed brick, and plenty of natural light, the space is cosy, contemporary, and distinctly industrial. There isn't a TV here, but the projector screen makes movie nights a dream. There's also a roof terrace with city views – perfect for cocktail hour – as well as a workspace for guests on business trips. Location-wise, Bermondsey is home to craft beer bars and indie shops. A twenty-minute walk takes you to the River Thames and Tower Bridge. For adventures further afield, hop on the Jubilee Line at Bermondsey Station, less than ten minutes on foot.

Chic and stylish, this apartment is located on the banks of Regent’s Canal. It’s in the vibrant neighbourhood of Angel, with its excellent bars and restaurants. You can take the tube or Overground from nearby, making it easy to explore the rest of London. The apartment is a sophisticated base for a London stay, decorated in a classy palette of dark neutrals. We particularly like the dining area, which features a retro dining table and a large vintage mirror. The second bedroom is equipped with a single bed with a trundle underneath it that opens into a double bed.

Originally built in the 1730s, this sumptuous apartment is a shining example of Georgian architecture. The building is one of the oldest in Mayfair – in 1821, famed Buckingham Palace architect Thomas Cubbit extended it – and you can see the character, history and period details in every room. It feels like a home you want to linger in, with new surprises waiting at every turn. We love the antique furniture – a clawfoot desk here, a fauteuil armchair there – but the smart kitchen, stylish bathroom and mod-cons like a rainfall shower, espresso machine and Netflix bring things in the 21st-century. We think it's the best of both worlds, and the location is even better.

Ritzy and charming, Mayfair is home to leafy squares, cobbled lanes lined with cafes and some of the oldest shops in London. Fashionistas will enjoy shopping along New Bond Street and Saville Row (a five-minute walk away), art fiends can browse the nearby galleries and auction houses (Phillips Auction House & Gallery is right next door) and foodies will love the bevvy of gourmet eateries nearby. With Bond Street Station only six minutes away on foot, travelling around the rest of the city is easy – perfect if you fancy a bit of sightseeing.
