This family-sized maisonette puts you in the already up-and-came neighbourhood of Brixton. You’re within walking distance of vast green spaces for sunny days (it’s a five-minute walk to Brockwell Park with its Lido) and the lively streets packs with indie clothing boutiques, global eateries and street art. Make the fiteen-minute walk to Pop Brixton for the best of the bunch.

The home itself is within a traditional London townhouse with big bay windows letting in plenty of natural light. A book-filled living room with plush velvet sofas feels homely and luxurious at the same time and the solid wood floors throughout are a lovely touch. The kitchen, in raven-black, has all the bits and pieces you need for self-catering and it leads out to a huge garden. This really is the piece de resistance, with a big lawn for kids to run around on, walled for privacy and with loungers and outdoor dining. There’s a hammock and deckchairs too.

Not only will you have a modern and comfortable place to return to, but you're a fourteen-minute walk from the leafy common, fantastic for morning wanders in the park, while Clapham Junction tube station is only eleven minutes away on foot, connecting you to the likes of Wandsworth and Battersea in less than twenty minutes.

For starters, the design effortlessly marries contemporary comforts with Edwardian charm – from the sunny garden and roaring fireplaces to a light-filled kitchen perfect for entertaining. Each en-suite bedroom is as comfortable as the next, but we love the sprawling main suite the most. How could we not, with its soaker tub and lush seating area? The separate study is ideal for remote working, and the gym in the garden's outbuilding is an excellent place to work out. Ready to explore? Abbeville Road's local eateries and amenities are a short walk away, while the Tube is nearby for adventures into central London.

There are parks and playgrounds within two minutes of the house, and you’ll also have access to the communal gardens. The home itself is comfortable, equipped with everything you might need during your stay.

Whether you need to work, play or relax, this extraordinary townhouse in Clapham has you covered. You only have to look at the 130-foot-long garden to see what we mean. As well as a lawn plenty big enough for games, there's also plenty of alfresco seating on the terrace, plus a self-contained office at the far end of the space with enough desks and screens for a whole start-up team if needs be.

And that's before we've even got around to the main home. Recently refurbished, the design is bright, bold and worthy of a centrefold in a glossy magazine. The sleek monochrome kitchen is truly envy-inducing, as is the chic dining table next to the large glass door leading to the back garden. At the front of the house, the living room is a little more homely thanks to the bay window, walls full of art and shelves packed with curios. To top it all off, the top two floors are home to characterful bedrooms and bathrooms.

It must be said that the location is fantastic, too. Larkhall Park sits five minutes away on foot, while the sprawling Clapham Common is a fifteen-minute walk. Just next to this is Clapham High Street, where you'll find a great range of restaurants and pubs, plus a cinema.

Perfectly proportioned for three, it’s worth noting that at full occupancy, one person will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room. Still, it’s a small price to pay for this home’s location. Locally, you can enjoy a visit to Tate Britain or a stroll along the River Thames. And for those keen to explore further afield, Pimlico Victoria Line is a mere four-minute walk away, so hopping across the city is a breeze.

Set on prestigious Eccleston Square in a building designed by Thomas Cubitt in 1855, this beautifully decorated apartment is all set to welcome you into a peaceful, luxurious stay. 

Period details like the parquet floors and wonderfully large windows combine with elegant Chinoiserie-inspired decor that feel immediately elegant. We love the soft pastel colours in the living room that add to the air of period lavishness and the French doors here that lead out onto a private balcony overlooking the private residents’ garden (to which you have access). Take a seat at the balcony’s table and chairs while enjoying your morning coffee or sip a sundowner here before exploring the many restaurants and pubs along Pimlico Road and Elizabeth Street (both a ten-minute walk away).

Evenings call for long soaks in the luxurious marble-framed bathtub, followed by a restful night’s sleep in the stunning bedroom with its designer wallpaper and luxuriously dressed bed. 

When it comes to sightseeing nearby, you couldn’t be better placed to enjoy some of the city’s finest culture, entertainment and shopping. Buckingham Palace and Chelsea’s King’s Road are both a fifteen-minute walk away, Harrods department store is a twenty-minute stroll, Westminster Abbey and Big Ben are under twenty-five minutes away on foot and Victoria’s theatres are walkable in five.

It’s also well connected with great public transport links ensuring quick connections with central London. And when it comes to rest and relaxation, this home delivers everything you could need to settle in and make it your own. There’s a home office for remote workers, exercise equipment for wellness lovers and plenty of socialising space for families. 

A Battersea Beauty

This is a neat, well designed home on the first floor of a Victorian terraced house in the heart of Battersea. The wooden floorboards across the home give the space a lovely flow, and framed prints, such as the ones from the Design museum or collected by the host in Lisbon, give the space a unique character. The simple colour palette adds to the calm vibe, and we absolutely loved the sunny terrace off the main living space. Although it’s well stocked overall, the kitchen lacks a dishwasher, and the area, while very pretty, isn’t the best for easy transport links.

On the prettiest street imaginable, this luxurious home allows families to live the West London dream in the heart of Chelsea. You’re moments away from galleries, boutiques and trendy restaurants as King’s Road is a one-minute walk. Spread across three floors, there are two living rooms so the family can spread out – one for entertaining by the fireplace, and one for reclining in front of the big TV. For a quiet moment, a small office space in the base is secluded away from the rest of the house. There’s plenty of room for the bustle of breakfast time in the big kitchen. A wall of mirrors gives a good sense of space in the formal dining room inside, while the woven wooden walls around the outdoor terrace offer a bit of privacy should you wish to dine alfresco. 

Prince Luxe

Located in London’s leafy Lambeth district – just a short stroll from Brixton’s lively bar and food scene, as well as from affluent Clapham – this beautifully styled apartment is just the ticket for those looking for a laid-back stay away from the tourist crowds.

Make your way upstairs to the wonderfully bright open-plan living area where soothing shades of grey are offset by vibrant pops of colour in the artwork and decorations. We love the bay window seat that invites you to curl up on it with a mug of tea and one of the many books on the shelves, while the sociable kitchen beckons homecooked meals serenaded by the record player and its selection of vinyl. 

The two downstairs bedrooms, meanwhile, are pared-back and peaceful, styled with a homey touch and soft pastel hues that feel instantly welcoming. 

But our favourite spot has to be the gorgeous private garden. Follow the string of colourful lanterns into this plant-framed spot to enjoy sunny breakfasts around the outdoor table and celebratory sundowners lounging on the sofa here. Day or night, you’ll love retreating to this quiet space – your very own urban oasis. 

Outside of your home, you’ve got plenty to see and do within easy reach. Spend a delicious afternoon at The Chocolate Museum (under a ten-minute walk), take a stroll through Brockwell Park (under twenty minutes away on foot) and explore the tantalising food stalls around Brixton Market (just over a ten-minute stroll away). 


This Is Soul

This contemporary home is just moments from Clapham Common. Outside, you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to local cafes, restaurants and shops. There is no private parking but it’s just a short stroll to the nearest tube station – making it easy to explore iconic sights across London. Back at home, you’ll have a private roof terrace for evening drinks and there’s plenty of room to gather and socialise inside. Remote workers will appreciate the dedicated desk space and you’ll find all the essentials you could need to get you started.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Battersea, this home offers a fantastic base for a city stay. You can stroll to the park in just five-minutes and there are great selection of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. It’s also possible to walk across the bridge into Chelsea and there are great public transport links. And when it comes to relaxing, this home has all the essentials you could need to settle in and unwind – including two kitchens, two living rooms and a home bar. There’s also a private patio with outdoor seating and a barbecue – perfect for warm weather evenings. 


River Side Beauty

We were bowled over by this apartment's location, just over a fifteen-minute walk from The Oval cricket ground. It has been the home of Surrey County Cricket Club since it was opened in 1845 and is a regular venue for test match cricket. 

If you're stumped for other places to go in the area, then head to Beaconsfield Contemporary Art (seven minutes on foot) – there's a lovely vegan café here too. Or one of London's best-loved attractions, the London Eye, is under a thirty-minute walk. History lovers, on the other hand, can visit the Imperial War Museum, a twelve-minute stroll away. It's the same walking distance to the Beefeater Gin Distillery, where you can take a tour or stop off at one of the many restaurants on the doorstep of this belter of a home. 

Relax on the sunny balcony with a drink in hand – we were hit for six when we saw the vistas over the capital's skyline. The living space is light and bright, thanks to its large patio doors, allowing light to flood in. After all that exploring, have a soak in the bath and then relax on the comfy sofa. This place is the perfect pad for a couple or solo traveller looking to take advantage of all that London has to offer.

This classic, elegant apartment is housed in a quiet Art Deco building in Old Chelsea. From its third-floor vantage point, you can enjoy views over SW3 – this home has plenty of wide, light-filled windows. You’ll have everything you need for a comfortable stay, with a well-equipped kitchen and three peaceful bedrooms. There are excellent transport links and you’ll be just minutes from Kings Road, Belgravia, and the Thames. Battersea Power Station is also close by and is a great spot for a bite to eat.

This Vauxhall home is an ideal base for a London getaway, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Sure, you can hear some Tube noise here, but it’s a small price to pay for a home spanning four floors. Comfortable for larger groups, there’s plenty of space to spread out here, and those in the city on business will appreciate the office for remote working. The cherry on top for us is the walled garden – just the spot for morning coffee before a day of sightseeing. Locally, cricket fans will adore the proximity to the iconic Oval, while shopaholics can head to Battersea Power Station for a little retail therapy.
