The apartment is spread over two floors so there’s plenty of space, though at full occupancy, two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the living room. It's also worth pointing out that the building's low water pressure means that only one of this home's showers can be used at a time.

From the moment you arrive, you'll feel at home. A hallway takes you through to the living space, complete with a Turkish rug and an L-shaped sofa for optimum cosiness. The perfect spot for an afternoon nap before taking the city by storm. The dining space is sleek and modern, with neutral colours that are punctuated by colourful artwork and decor. It's a cheerful space, we can just picture home-cooked dinners and competitive board games around the table. 

You're just a ten-minute walk away from West Brompton Underground, and on the tube, you have the whole city at your fingertips. But you don't have to go far to experience London life. You're surrounded by charming leafy streets and in just under half an hour's stroll, you can reach the gorgeous Holland Park. The perfect picnic spot. Kensington High Street is a half an hour's walk away too, where you can explore the museums, sip coffee around the bistro tables, and get carried away in the boutiques. Come nighttime, why catch dinner and a show in the buzzing Hammersmith? It's just a twenty-minute walk away and there's always something going on at Hammersmith Apollo. Plus, the area boasts tasteful riverside restaurants and artsy cocktail bars – an ideal evening in the city.

Ideal for family city stays, this modern home in West Kensington places you within easy reach of South Kensington’s museums, The Queen’s Club and Thameside’s restaurants. You’ll take a journey around the world in this bright and characterful West London home. The hosts have collected vintage furniture and art from the many countries they’ve lived in, including the Indian wooden dining table and the quirky light fittings. Not only are they keen globetrotters, but they're also taxidermists, too — keep your eyes peeled for butterflies and the artfully arranged pheasant in the living room. The large, open-concept kitchen is the real heart of the home, with French doors leading out to a pristine outdoor patio, which has a verdant plant wall and a barbecue ready for those summer evenings. The local neighbourhood is largely residential and consequently, quite peaceful. The banks of the Thames can be reached in under a quarter of an hour on foot should you feel in the mood for a riverside stroll. That being said, you can also be in Central London in around twenty-five minutes on the tube via the Piccadilly Line if you want a change of pace at any time.

Fresh Flight

This sprawling West London home, spread over three floors, is an ideal base for a group of friends or family of adults who want a base to escape to after the hustle and bustle of the city reaches boiling point. The home's inoffensive interior, replete with white, creates a relaxing atmosphere, although it's a pity there's no furniture on the terrace. There's no air conditioning, but the host will include fans during the summer to ease you into sleep. With no lift, you'll be traversing the three storeys here on foot. Barons Court and West Kensington underground stations are close by here for when you want to explore.

This charming apartment is tucked away in a historic mansion block that dates back to 1893 – which explains why there’s no lift for this fourth-floor home. It’s in West Kensington, close to Kensington High Street, Earl’s Court, and Olympia. There are eateries, shops, and transport links nearby. The mansion block blends history and modernity, so you can expect some period charm alongside contemporary comforts. There’s a convenient kitchen to cook in, and a cosy living room with an ornamental fireplace.

There's something truly whimsical about this Fulham home which we love. For instance, not every place has a swan's head (with a crown no less) watching over proceedings. The absolute highlight here, though, is the pretty, sunny garden – the rattan sofa, surrounded by scented climbers, is the perfect spot for cocktails. Back through the Crittal style patio windows, you'll find a stylish kitchen with a dining area and, beyond that, an elegant living room with period character features such as a bay window. At the end of a busy day in London, we can't think of anything better than having a long luxurious soak in the silver freestanding bath.

Located in the leafy, sought-after neighbourhood of Parsons Green, you'll have an array of restaurants and bars nearby. If you crave more green space, go for a stroll around Eel Brook Common, within a fifteen-minute walk. Or explore the rest of London – Parsons Green Station, on the Wimbledon branch of the District line, is under five minutes on foot.

Close to upmarket Kensington and bohemian Notting Hill is the charming area of Brook Green. Known for its village atmosphere, period architecture and excellent transport links (Hammersmith, Goldhawk Road and Shepherds Bush stations are all within walking distance), this pocket of West London suits families, business travellers and those craving a quieter neighbourhood. Yet it's still close to excellent restaurants, cosy gastropubs, green spaces and plenty of shopping, with Westfield London (fifteen-minute stroll), Kensington High Street (twenty-minute walk) and Holland Park (thirty minutes on foot) all just a stone's throw away. This bright apartment in a picturesque mansion is the perfect place to rest your feet and recharge after a long day exploring. The fully-stocked kitchen has everything you'll need to rustle up a meal, while the cosy living area has a comfortable sofa, Freeview channels and DVD player for chilled nights at home. There's also a desk if you need to do some remote working, though we'd probably get distracted watching the world pass by outside the window. But our favourite feature is the sumptuous rolltop bath. We can't think of a better way to end the day than with a glass of wine, a good book and a relaxing soak. Pure bliss.

From its third-floor vantage point, you can enjoy views over SW3 – this home has plenty of wide, light-filled windows. You’ll have everything you need for a comfortable stay, with a well-equipped kitchen and three peaceful bedrooms. There are excellent transport links and you’ll be just minutes from Kings Road, Belgravia, and the Thames. Battersea Power Station is also close by and is a great spot for a bite to eat. 

A Summer Romance

This chic apartment matches its Knightsbridge location perfectly. You'll be just a short walk from Harrods, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Hyde Park, and well-connected Tube stations – if that's not central, we don't know what is. It's set on the ground and lower-ground floors of a Georgian townhouse, so expect original features like bay windows and cornice ceilings. Topping it all off is the private terrace – just the spot for a cup of tea in the sunshine.

This character-packed loft is located in the heart of Fulham, just a short walk from the River Thames, Hurlingham Park and Fulham Palace. Set across two floors, with the bedroom on the mezzanine level, it’s tailor-made for two. That said, it would suit solo and business travellers, too, thanks to its enviable location. While some areas are fairly simple, such as the kitchenette, you’ll find everything needed for a comfortable stay here. Locally, there are restaurants and bars, or for trips further afield, hop on the tube at Putney Bridge Underground Station to explore the city with ease.

You'll find this contemporary townhome in Barnes, just across the bridge from buzzy Hammersmith. It's located on a charming street close to the Thameside towpath and the area's pubs and restaurants, so there's plenty to do if you decide to stay local. Families and friends will have ample room to stretch out here. We love the cosy lounge, the light-filled kitchen, and the two comfortable bedrooms. Remote workers can get down to business in the separate study, which has a sofa bed for guests five and six. Factor in the sun-kissed patio, balcony, and private parking, and it's no surprise it caught our eye.

You might think that minimalism is easy to get right, but it's not just a case of taking everything away and admiring the emptiness. This apartment in West London shows you how it should be done. The stark white walls and floorboards create a soothing ambience, but it also means that the carefully selected artwork, houseplants and statement furnishings — including an alien-looking chair in the bedroom by designer Tom Dixon — really stand out. Overall, it manages to strike the sought-for balance between artistic coherence and somewhere you can actually feel at home within. The outside of the building is traditionally pretty and part of a charming crescent sat opposite the entrance to Brompton Cemetery, one of the 'Magnificent Seven' built in the nineteenth century. Further afield, there are boutiques and upmarket restaurants on the nearby King's Road, which can be reached in under twenty minutes on foot. For direct trains to central London, Earl's Court underground station is just round the corner, getting you into the city in just fifteen minutes.
