This baby blue timber lodge is just as cute on the inside as it is on the outside. As well as having all the essentials for a romantic getaway, there are house plants, colourful pieces of artwork and a turquoise accent wall to give the place a bit of character without overdoing it — one of the hosts is an interior designer, can't you tell? Out through the glass door, there's a large garden with a cosy seating area at the far end and plenty of potted plants dotted about. You'll find that there's a real sense of peace here. The local village of Banningham is small — albeit with a well-recommended gastropub — and there are plenty of outdoor excursions to fill your days with nearby. The birthplace of Anne Boleyn, Blickling Estate, takes ten minutes to reach in the car, while Cromer Beach is a seventeen-minute drive away, too.

With its thatched roof and shuttered windows, you couldn't ask for a cuter cottage than this Grade-II listed address sitting in the middle of a country estate in rural Norfolk.

Although it dates back to the 19th century, the interior is a little more contemporary than you might expect, save for the wooden beams and winding staircase. White walls and framed pictures lend the feel of an art gallery, while the cosy kitchen with a Belfast sink retains a rustic air. And what could be a better way of ending the day than with a long and languorous soak in the freestanding bathtub?

When the weather forecast makes for kind reading, the home has a private patio complete with a hot tub, barbecue and plenty of furniture to help you make the most of it. Alternatively, it doesn't take too long to reach the Norfolk coastline – Sea Palling Beach is twenty minutes' drive away, for instance. The city of Norwich is only half an hour away in the car, too.

Outside, you’ll find a private garden with a barbecue – perfect for embracing the magic of outdoor living. From here, make your way to the thatched barn house to enjoy a refreshing swim in the communal pool or an energising workout in the mini gym. Children (and adults) will love the playful spirit of the gardens – there’s a giant chess set, seesaw and trampoline as well as a games room in the old gig house. 

Days can be spent hiking along the coast or following in the footsteps of pilgrims to the ruins of Bromholm Priory – just a short walk away.

Dating back to the 1600s and surrounded by three acres of fairytale-esque gardens, this is a home for all ten of you (and your furry friends) to pile in and start living the seaside dream in serious style.

In the summer months, pad out onto the elegant terrace to catch the golden hour sun with a tipple or two. Kids can run amuck on the vast lawns with a kickabout, game of badminton, or search out the garden basket swing, all under your watchful eye. A smidge further, you’ll find the post-card pretty village of Ridlington (a 2.5-mile drive). Or, there's good old-fashioned beach fun down at Mundesley, with its colourful beach huts, lip-smacking fish and chip shops, and lashings of ice cream.

Back home, this light-filled treasure is a joy to return to, with its exposed beams and stonework bringing all the wow factor. Set out across one level, extended families or friends sharing will love the privacy the bedrooms bring, each with a separate bathroom. And there’s heaps of space to get together for catch-ups and cuppas around that impressive wood burner – the underfloor heating will keep things toasty in winter too. A hidden gem on a pretty countryside lane in the village of Neatishead, this cosy lodge is perfect for peaceful couple retreats or solo getaways. With incredible views across the spacious garden throughout this home, what could be a better way to start your day than to wake up to green vistas before taking your morning cuppa alfresco to the outdoor table on the patio?

The best way to experience the Norfolk Broads is by boat, and the ‘Capital of the Norfolk Broads’ Wroxham – where you can hire a boat or take a tour up the river – is a short eleven-minute drive from your door here. So, roam up the river and admire the views before you stop for lunch at one of the restaurants, pubs or cafes, many of which even offer riverside seating. 

The village of Neatishead itself is also a quiet and unspoilt area of Norfolk, with its own pub, village shop and swim barn – a pool which you can book online. Plus, there are plenty of country lanes that make great places for walking or cycling. 

In the evening, when the weather allows it, we would love nothing more than to dine alfresco in the garden at this home. Then, snuggle up inside with a good book or play a board game together.

Otherwise surrounded by bars, shops and the Mundesley Golf Club, this house is undoubtedly central, which is a big tick on location. Neutral with a touch of country-house chic, it's homely, comfortable and, with well-sized bedrooms, spacious enough for up to ten. Though there are two living areas and by no means a shortage of seating, you'll also find patio furniture on the raised deck. We recommend afternoon wine and nibbles as you watch the kids expend their energy on the manicured lawn.

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and take a trip to Norfolk’s gorgeous north coast, where you’ll find this stunning brick and flint cottage, perfectly situated for a relaxing East Anglian getaway. 

Whether you’re travelling with family or friends, you’ll love the abundance of space here, particularly the sprawling garden, which boasts a sheltered seating area, plus plenty of room for pets and children to roam while you soak up some sun. Indoors, beamed wooden ceilings and snug sofas make this the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Norfolk’s charming beaches and villages. If you're looking to get away from it all, this home is in the ideal spot. All on the ground floor, it's set in a wing of a Grade II listed Palladian Villa and surrounded by 200 acres of unspoilt parkland. Originally built in the 1930s for use during the shooting season, the main part of this impressive house is now a family home. Beautiful arched windows let the sunlight stream into the spacious living room and offer views out over the grounds. 

Step straight from your door to explore the woodland, meadows and lakes of this vast estate – and if you're lucky, you'll catch a glimpse of deers, badgers, otters and all kinds of birdlife. Or enjoy a few games of tennis on the owner's outdoor court. 

It's only a four-minute drive to the nearest pub, or it's a fifteen-minute ride to the delightful coastal town of Cromer with its pier walk, crabbing, and fish and chips by the shore. By day you can explore the area's sandy beaches, walk the Norfolk Coastal Path or discover the National Trust properties of Felbrigg Hall and the Blickling Estate (a ten and twenty-minute drive, respectively).


The Huntsman

This newly built home in Mundesley is only a short stroll away from the town's Blue Flag beach. With space for up to eight guests, it's a smart spot for a sophisticated seaside getaway, or a great gateway to the wider Norfolk area. 

The open-plan kitchen space is perfect for spending some time with your loved ones. Open some wine and cook up a storm together, before settling down at the long dining table to enjoy your culinary creations. On chilly evenings you can throw a log on the fire and get cosy on the sofa afterwards – or, head out onto the patio to enjoy an alfresco sundowner in the breeze. 

Pack up your bucket and spade and take a short wander down to the water to relax on the sand and admire the rainbow of beach huts. Refuel with some local fish and chips – there are three places to try, so you might have to sample them all. If you fancy a round of golf then there's a course on the outskirts of Mundesley, and walkers and cyclists can explore the Norfolk countryside from here too.

This converted coach house still retains its original charm – the interior is rustic yet elegant. We love the exposed beams, stone floors and high ceilings. The southwest-facing walled garden with its pretty lawn is the perfect spot to unwind – fire up the barbecue for an alfresco lunch. On chillier evenings, cosy up in front of the wood-burning stove or have a luxurious soak in the roll-top bath. There is plenty of family fun to be had in this home – let siblings battle it out at the football table or bury themselves in a board game in the entertainment room. In the cloakroom, you'll find ample space for buckets and spades, and we recommend heading out to the nearby Cromer Beach for the day (a twenty-minute drive). If you want to explore the Norfolk Broads – it's just over thirty minutes in the car. Or it's a three-minute stroll to the local pub for a hearty meal and a pint to round off a perfect day in Norfolk.

The Old Coach House

Tucked away in the quiet village of Bacton, this charming flint home absolutely exudes cosy comfort. With a sumptuous sectional sofa and a crackling wood burner in the living area, a large dining table in the country-style kitchen and three inviting bedrooms, there's plenty of space here to spread out and make yourself comfortable. Home chefs can cook up a storm in the kitchen – it's well-stocked with everything you need – while kids play a board game or snuggle up with a book. That said, our favourite spot has to be the sunny garden. Fire up the barbecue for dinner, share your meal around the outdoor table and then when the sun goes down, snuggle up by the fire pit underneath the stars.

Right down the street is the ruins of the Priory of Bromholm, a historic abbey that was said to house a piece of the True Cross. And just a little further, only five minutes away, is a sandy beach, where you can sprawl out on the Norfolk coast and dip your toes into the water. When you're not in the mood to cook, there are a few pubs and eateries in town, plus lively Cromer is only ten miles away – perfect for a day trip.

Where the Air Is Sweet

There's a lot to love about this converted barn in the heart of the Norfolk countryside. And its peaceful setting, surrounded by woodlands, water meadows and gardens are just the beginning. How about a tennis court? And, of course, what would a home in the Broads be without water access? This place has it all. On the River Bure, adventurous types can bring a canoe or paddle board, and even paddle along to the nearby riverside pub. You'll have your own fishing spot if that's how you prefer to spend your afternoons, or just bring your binoculars and look out for otters, kingfishers and more. Indoors, it's a bright and modern space, with a sociable living area and stylish kitchen – complete with a huge island. Patio doors open to a private terrace, and we love the vaulted ceilings and stripped-back original beams. There's a bedroom on the ground floor, with direct access outside, and the family bathroom is on that level too, while the master and third bedroom are upstairs (the third having a unique, low level window overlooking the dining room). With fifteen acres of land to explore, there are great walks to be had from your doorstep, and here you'll be about twenty minutes by car from Norwich in one direction, and the stunning Norfolk coast in the other.

Gently Down The Stream

Quaint and cosy, this old shoemaker's cottage in the heart of Cromer is a perfect seaside retreat for two. It's just a two-minute walk from Cromer Beach and the Victorian pier, making it a top-notch spot for couples to unwind. 

Inside, the home hasn't lost any of its traditional charm, thanks to the wooden floors, timber beams and vintage furniture. Lighthouses and wooden shoes line the shelves, paying homage to the cottage’s excellent seaside location as well as its history. The living room is warm and comfortable — on chilly nights, snuggle in front of the electric fire with a good book and a glass of wine. While the kitchen is on the smaller side, it still has everything you need to whip up a quick breakfast or light lunch. 

When it's time for dinner, we recommend grabbing a bite to eat at one of the fabulous restaurants, delis, and cafés in town, then finishing off the evening with a nightcap at the pub across the road.

Nestled on the grounds of the Cromer Country Club, guests lucky enough to stay here can enjoy the peace and quiet, and excellent amenities. Make use of the swimming pool, the spa, and gym facilities, or enjoy a day at the next-door Royal Cromer Golf Club. More importantly, you’ll be staying just moments from the sea. That means fishing, crabbing, swimming, boating and more are all available to guests who come here for a little bit of fresh sea air. Step into the home and you’ll find a balance of coastal-inspired and modern furnishings. This family-friendly home also provides guests with highchairs, baby gates, and a travel cot to ensure everyone can relax on this trip. Split across two levels, the upstairs bedrooms benefit from picturesque sea views, while the home’s backyard is perfect for lawn games, dining al fresco, and basking in the sunshine. For dinner, fire up the barbecue and dine alfresco as the sun goes down – with the roses in bloom and sea salt in the air, it's pure bliss.

Comfortable and contemporary in equal measure, we love how the interior combines 21st-century design with old-world charm. We can easily imagine evenings spent lounging in front of the electric fire, reading books and playing board games, or snuggling up for a family movie night on the plush sofas.

If you're after a home that's got space for you and your beloved pooch(es), we've found one that's just 'paw-fect' (we can't promise that won't be the last dog pun). A gorgeous barn conversion close to the wind-whipped Norfolk coast, this home has been set up with dog lovers in mind. There's enough space for up to four of your furry friends to join, with a lavish fleece-lined bed for each, throws for those that just won't stay off the sofa, an enclosed garden and a special dog hamper to welcome them. Two-legged guests will love the open-plan living and dining area, the AGA in the kitchen, comfy sofas and plenty of games. You'll definitely want to keep the dogs out of the bedrooms, though, as the Egyptian cotton bedding is far too sumptuous to share. Nearby there are lots of dog-friendly woodland and beach walks, and local pub The Star Inn will be happy to welcome you and your tail-wagging companions. After a day out exploring the best of the north Norfolk coast, treat yourself to a soak in the hot tub looking out over the surrounding fields. It's A Dog's Life

Pack up your buckets and spades and get off to a flying start in Cromer for days of picnicking, kite flying, and sandcastle building. When tummies start to rumble, there are fish and chip shops for supper on the beach. The nearby gastro pub (three-minute drive or twenty-minute walk) will do very nicely for something more upper-crust. Or head home for a barbecue in your suntrap garden – you can always swing by the local farm shop (a two-minute drive) to pick up supplies.

Inside, this charming home is perfectly set up for an easy family holiday, including your furry friends. Upstairs there are immaculate, clutter-free bedrooms. While back downstairs, the large farmhouse kitchen table is a fantastic spot to all come together to rustle up breakfast and hatch plans for a day of exploring. And after long, bracing walks in the countryside in the winter months, there’s an obligatory log-burner fire to curl up beside in the storybook armchair.

Hot Coast

While the tiny villages of Norfolk offer postcard-ready, rural scenes that you would expect, this home has quite the opposite of a rustic aesthetic. A two-minute stroll from the nearest pub in Banningham, or an eighteen-minute drive to coastal delights like the pier of Cromer, you can still enjoy traditional activities – but in a rather modern setting.

The exterior presents a cottage-like feel with red bricks and chunky timber supports propping up a slate roof. And that’s where the rustic feel ends. Step inside to beautifully 21st-century interiors, where the apex ceiling and bright white walls create an impressive sense of space and zen.

Seaside Sands

Seaside village life is on your doorstep at this handsome circa. 1800 apartment perched just a five-minute walk from the vast sands of Overstrand along the East Norfolk Coast.

Inside, this ground-floor regency home makes quite the first impression with its soaring ceilings and magnificent bay windows flooding the elegant living room with afternoon sunlight.

A perfect seaside nest for two, the roll-top bath is a delight for a pre-dinner soak – as is the elegant bedroom with one hug of a king-sized bed. And while there’s no outdoor space to speak of, we don’t think you’ll grumble with the beach this close.

With just a five-minute hop, skip, and a jump, you’ll be on its sandy shores – or perhaps a smidge longer with a pitstop at the cliff-top café along the way to grab coffee and pastries to go. For something a little heartier, the village pub won’t disappoint, neither will the 19th-century Sea Marge restaurant with lawns leading down to the sea. Then all that’s left to do is head for the beach for bracing walks that go on for miles. Or hop on a boat and explore the Broads – it’s like a trip back in time.

End of the Pier

Take a few steps off the beaten track at this pretty cottage squirrelled away in the sleepy, historic Norfolk village of Southrepps and just 4.7 miles from the beach.

Inside, this place is bringing all the cottage core vibes. Exposed beams, stonework and an inglenook fireplace nod to the cottage's historic past, while a modern copper shower room and shaker-style kitchen with a range cooker at its heart bring a touch of modern luxury.

Outside, the south-facing garden is a delight for alfresco breakfasts with its gently sloping lawns and blossom trees. But if the weather doesn't buck up, the garden room is just as inviting for a cuppa – you may even spot the local wildlife going about their day.

When it’s time for an adventure, country walks are right outside the door at Southrepps Common with its 12 hectares of reed beds and woodland. If cycling is your thing, you can easily tap into the Quiet Lanes Explorer trail. Or pack up your bucket and spades and hit the coast – the long, sandy shores of Mundlesey backed by beach huts is a fine place to start.

Should thoughts turn to food and a glass of something crisp, take your pick from the two local pubs, both just a stroll away. You (and your four-legged friends) will be in for a warm welcome.
