Perfect for pups, this lovely cottage has everything you and your four-legged friends will need for a seaside getaway. It's incredibly dog-friendly, with heaps of features that dog owners will appreciate – an enclosed, astroturf courtyard (no muddy paws!), easy-clean laminate floors, bowls and crates, and a comfy white sofa that looks stylish but is easy to wipe down. Even without a pooch, you'll be happy to call this annexe home. It's bright, inviting and has plenty of charm. Owners Tracie and Neil are highly knowledgeable about the area and keep a cosy, traditional home – they live next door but can be as hands-on (or off) as you need. We love their attention to detail, and a few unique pieces were handcrafted by Neil, including the TV stand converted from a Singer sewing machine, the pine coffee table and the light fittings. Set in the coastal village of Happisburgh, there's a lot to keep you busy. After an alfresco breakfast, lace up your boots and take a walk along the beach – both Cart Gap and Happisburgh Beach are a twenty-minute stroll away. You can't miss the bold red-and-white-striped lighthouse along the sea – it's the oldest working one in East Anglia – but other places worth exploring include the lush Bacton Woods and the collection of inns and pubs serving traditional English food along the seaside.

New Tricks

Escape to the Norfolk countryside at this picturesque cottage for two in the quaint village of Buxton. With hundreds of acres of private parkland, the rolling fields wrap themselves around you like a warm green hug, so you can feel the hustle and bustle of everyday life disappear from the moment you arrive. 

Days begin with a complimentary breakfast in the bright kitchen as you plan for the day ahead. When it's time to head out, pack a picnic and fill up a flask of coffee, before embarking on a morning stroll in the crisp country air. Enjoy the dew on the fields and the tranquil sounds as you explore your surroundings. If you fancy a trip to Norwich, the city’s Romanesque cathedral, Sainsbury Centre art gallery and excellent selection of restaurants are less than an hour’s drive away.

After a day spent out and about, head back home, pour yourself a glass of wine and snuggle down in the cosy living room. There really is no better place to unwind after a day of exploring than under the wood beams, giving off a rural warmth that makes the space instantly inviting. Head up to your sumptuous solid brass bed with Egyptian cotton and the soft sounds of nature lulling you to sleep. 

Coming Up For Air

This cosy barn sits on the edge of the Norfolk Broads, where it offers the ideal setting for a relaxing group getaway. Inside, you’ll find plenty of socialising space across the kitchen and living room. There is also a mezzanine snug with a handy desk for remote workers, plus two of the bedrooms can be arranged as doubles or singles to accommodate flexible sleeping arrangements. Outside, there is a peaceful garden with a barbecue and plenty to explore. From here, it’s just a short drive to the village of Acle while the North Norfolk Coast is just 30 miles away. 


Beloved Barn

This charming cottage feels like a step back in time. It sits in the former stable block of an elegant Georgian Estate, dating back to the early-seventeenth century. Now a working farm, it's surrounded by four hundred acres of gloriously green pastures and ancient parkland – inhabited by herds of red deer, muntjac and an array of birdlife – which you're encouraged to explore. Here, you're just shy of a twenty-minute drive from the picturesque cathedral city of Norwich and the enchanting Norfolk Broads.

The exquisitely renovated interior is cosy and welcoming. Hardwood floors, exposed brickwork, and beam-clad ceilings offer a characterful canvas primed for relaxation. We especially love the sitting room with its plush velvet sofas and wood-burning fireplace, not to mention the delightful country-house kitchen, where a spacious dining table offers a lovely space for homecooked feasts with your clan. 

Framed by a grade-two listed stone wall and dense woodland, a private south-facing garden beckons you to feel completely immersed in nature. After a restful slumber in Egyptian cotton linens, step outside and enjoy your morning brew to the sound of birdsong and gently rustling leaves. Between adventures, spend your days sunbathing on the lawn, reading in the conservatory and, come sunset, sipping cocktails on the furnished patio.

Echoes of Spring

With a sprawling garden, tree house and a games room that kids will approve of, this Norwich cottage is a solid option for family holidays. Outdoor seating, a hot tub and a barbecue round out the wrap-around garden. Perfect for spending sunny days outside. The house itself is cosy and comfortable, with more than enough space even with up to five guests sleeping on sofa beds in the living areas. As for your locations, this cottage is tucked away in the 'Capital of The Broads', close to the Broads National Park. Norwich is a short drive away, and a few beaches dotted along the coast lies within driving distance. 

Thatched Haven

This elegant hall situated in Norwich awaits you, with verdant private grounds that are perfect for spending afternoons out on the grass under the sun as a family. What makes this home unforgettable is the amazing access to the gorgeous surrounding lake, fitted with a boat berth and kayak for all of your boating needs – we recommend sitting on the deck as you dip your feet in the water while you sip on a cup of coffee or glass of wine. From the lake, you'll find that you're encompassed by plenty of greenery in this incredibly peaceful and rural spot.

Evenings can be spent playing on the pool table as you challenge your loved ones to some games. Watch the sunset in the evenings from the alcove sofa in the dining room with a book as you sink into the comfy cushions – you may spot the local birds flying to their nests as the amber glow closes in. 

The city centre of Norwich is only a twenty–two–minute drive away and is filled to the brim with eateries, shops to browse, and charming pubs to while the hours away as a family. Bracon Ash is a short walk away with a wonderful playground for the children as you tuck into a light bite under the sun – or a tasty homemade picnic.

Vintage Hibiscus

This converted coach house still retains its original charm – the interior is rustic yet elegant. We love the exposed beams, stone floors and high ceilings. The southwest-facing walled garden with its pretty lawn is the perfect spot to unwind – fire up the barbecue for an alfresco lunch. On chillier evenings, cosy up in front of the wood-burning stove or have a luxurious soak in the roll-top bath. There is plenty of family fun to be had in this home – let siblings battle it out at the football table or bury themselves in a board game in the entertainment room. In the cloakroom, you'll find ample space for buckets and spades, and we recommend heading out to the nearby Cromer Beach for the day (a twenty-minute drive). If you want to explore the Norfolk Broads – it's just over thirty minutes in the car. Or it's a three-minute stroll to the local pub for a hearty meal and a pint to round off a perfect day in Norfolk.

The Old Coach House

Framing the original entrance to a private countryside estate just a stone's throw from the Norfolk Broads, this charming gatehouse marries characterful rural features with modern comforts. For a restorative escape, this beautifully renovated home is an idyllic place to make memories amidst a 300-acre historic parkland. 

Wake up to chirping birds from your plush bed before preparing a leisurely breakfast in your country kitchen of farm-fresh eggs and crusty rye bread – we think the patio dining table is a serene spot to enjoy your hard work, accompanied by a freshly brewed coffee.  

Spend a day exploring the grounds or spot the local birdlife on a water-trail boat tour on The Broads. Not all the best attractions are saved for the summer months – head to Horsey Beach in the winter to see the grey seals during the birthing season. Regardless of the time of year, this piece of sandy beach is a pleasure all year round – you might still catch views of seals who’ve stuck around for some sun. If you're seeking a culinary experience, there are some charming local pubs in the area. As evening rolls around, pocket a few balls on the pool table, and enjoy a round of table tennis or air hockey, before sinking into the garden hot tub for a soak session under the stars.

Gatehouse Gardens

A restorative family-home with stylish interiors in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. Located just a seven-minute walk from the charming riverbank village of Horning, you'll have easy access to all of the local inns, restaurants, small shops and tea rooms. Back inside, it's a modern, beautifully decorated house with all of the mod-cons needed for larger groups to enjoy a comfortable stay. The colourful, light-filled living room benefits from bi-folding patio doors that extend out to a crowd-pleasing garden that boasts a spa-style hot tub, bar area and outdoor seating, so you can spend lazy evenings dipping in-and-out of the jacuzzi, sipping drinks and swapping stories. On chillier nights, chum up and challenge your friends and family to a round of pool or foosball in the games room. Or break open a bottle of wine in the sleek, chef's kitchen and plate up the catch of the day – there's plenty of fishing opportunities nearby, so be sure to bring your rods. In fact, the best way to discover this achingly quaint holiday destination is by hopping on one of the daily boat trips that take you all the way down the river and are readily available from in the village. 

Swallowtail Summer

This lovely home is perfect for those who don't want to leave their dogs behind when going away on holiday. The property is expertly crafted to accommodate pooches so they can also have a wonderfully comfortable stay. There's plenty of space within the house as you wander through, admiring the beamed ceilings and rustic wooden features throughout. Snuggle up together in the living space, including the dog of course, to watch a movie on the TV as you sip on a toasty cup of coffee. You've got a choice of where you'd like to tuck into meals too, whether you opt for an al fresco lunch in the courtyard, a hearty homecooked plate at the indoor dining table, or a light bite while sitting at the breakfast bar.

The outdoor space is a fantastic spot to enjoy a picnic with your loved ones on the grass or on the picnic bench, as your loveable dogs run around and play. In fact, you may even spot a range of wildlife during your stay here as red deer and hares have been seen amongst the rural surroundings.

Not only is the house great for dogs, but the surrounding area too. With relaxing walks along the Weavers Way as you traverse through verdant trees and bushes – a beautiful getaway from the hustle and bustle of busy daily life. A short drive takes you to the market town of Stalham where you can treat yourself to a delicious portion of fish and chips. Sea Palling Beach is a fifteen–minute drive away from the house for a day out by the ocean – your dogs will love running up and down the sand here. 

Daydream For Dogs

Dating back as far as the 1470s, when Sir James Hobart (a confidante of Henry VII) built a family estate, this Grade I listed home is one of the most spectacular places we’ve ever seen. Step into history oozing with the finest luxury afforded to the home's guests. It's truly perfect for family gatherings, breaks away with friends, weddings, and more, thanks to the ample amount of space. On top of the main hall, there’s also the gatehouse and the garden rooms, as well as a separate barn for hosting events (upon request), and of course, the six-acre grounds. The history of this home has been preserved immaculately, while at the same time, modern comforts are around every corner. Either as a gateway to the Broads, or as a destination in itself, you can’t go wrong.

The facilities available at the hall are second to none, with no need or whim uncatered for, including perfectly equipped kitchens, games room, library, a wealth of entertainment, cosy open fires and woodburners, lawns and meadows, and even a moat, and should you wish to prize yourself away from this phenomenal home and head on out to explore, the bustling seaside town of Great Yarmouth is just a twenty-seven-minute drive away, while the Norwich city centre can be reached in twenty-two minutes by car, and is perfect for those shopping needs. We highly recommend trying out the cosy pubs around the area for a good pint and perfect company.
