This Grade II Listed cottage has a fantastic location right in the centre of Wells-next-the-Sea. Do some beachcombing on Wells-next-the-Sea Beach (around twenty minutes on foot). Then, afterwards, have a stroll along the Quay, a one-minute walk away, and enjoy some fish and chips or pick up some catch of the day from the pretty harbour. There are plenty of local pubs and restaurants, as well as a delicatessen, butchers and fishmonger within a five-minute stroll. Take some local produce back to this lovely home, prepare a meal in the modern kitchen, and then savour it at the table in the sunny courtyard. Or when the weather turns chilly, light the log burning stove (your lovely host provides a starter pack of logs in the colder months) and relax with a glass of wine on the sofa. This stylish cottage is everything you would want from a seaside retreat – we love the original features, such as the old beams, which blend beautifully with the chic furnishings. With so much out and about, too, you’ll probably need to book again to fit it all in.

For days out, the stunning Holkham Hall estate is less than a ten-minute drive away, and the popular seaside towns of Sheringham and Cromer are reached in less than forty-five minutes.

What a prime location this stylish cottage has – it's right in the centre of Wells-next-the-Sea. You'll find a mix of pubs, cafes, restaurants and independent shops to browse right on your doorstep. Or head to Holkham Beach (just over a twelve-minute drive away), where you may see the Household Cavalry riding their horses across the sands. It's just a twenty-minute stroll to Wells-next-the-Sea, too, with its pretty beach huts. After exploring all this town and the Norfolk coast offers, relax by the wood-burning stove (a starter pack of logs is provided in the colder months) or enjoy a coffee in the cute courtyard on warm days. Your lovely host has done a fantastic job sympathetically updating this place whilst retaining its original charm. When you're ready for a bit of rest, climb the traditional Norfolk winder stairs to the characterful and comfy bedrooms, before starting another exciting day of Norfolk adventures. This home is perfect for families, couples and friends who want to enjoy the great outdoors all year round.

Boasting a privileged position at the heart of Wells-next-the-Sea, this picturesque home overlooking the town’s quay is a treat for all seasons. With the North Norfolk coast on your doorstep and a plethora of fun treats waiting to be enjoyed at home, there’s no end to the adventures in store. 

No stone has been left unturned in the careful curation of this home, with its welcoming open-plan living area beckoning board games by the fireside and the sun room offering a slice of relaxation whatever the weather. Open the doors here to step out into the large private garden – the perfect spot for family picnics and lawn games – or head out to the front of the home where you’ll find a raised seating area with picture-perfect views of the boats coming in and out of quay. 

Our favourite spot, however, has to be the main bedroom’s terrace. Accessed via a hatched window, you’ve got uninterrupted views of the water that you can enjoy over morning coffees as the sun dazzles over the stunning scenery, or with a nightcap as the stars twinkle above you. 

When you’re ready to venture out for some sightseeing, you’ll find plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes just minutes away, including along the quayside (a two-minute walk) which has a plethora of ice cream shops and arcades. You’re also a twenty-five-minute walk from the beach, while Holkham Hall and Holkham National Nature Reserve are both just a couple of miles away.

The space is cosy, though it's worth noting that one of the bedrooms is without a door, so it might not feel the most private. Still, it is minutes away from the harbour and a fifteen-minute walk from Well's Beach. You're also in one of the UK's Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which you can explore more by car.

What about the address? Well, the location is great – this home is situated in Burnham Market, a picturesque, leafy village with plenty of boutiques, while about six miles away lies Wells-next-the-Sea.

Knock up a hearty meal in the country-style kitchen – to be enjoyed out on that divine, private patio.

Located in the pretty coastal village of Brancaster Staithe, this cosy cottage feels just like home. Expect muted cream interiors with plenty of plump furnishings – look forward to falling back onto the couch after a long walk through the countryside and snoozing soundly in the comfortable beds. There’s a fully-equipped kitchen for putting together your favourite dishes and a light-filled conservatory where morning cups of coffee can be enjoyed. 

After a barbecue in the garden, grab your binoculars and explore the nearby creeks or jump on the coasthopper bus to Brancaster Beach for a mosey along the long stretches of soft sand. Alternatively, head to Burnham Market, less than a ten-minute drive away. Visit the indie shops that flank the village green, then pop into the Hoste Arms pub for a well-deserved gin and tonic. 

Bee Orchid Cottage

This lovely home takes a classic English barn and renovates it into a chic, open space with all the country charm and none of the snug spaces. Glass walkways and enormous French windows in the living area add a contemporary edge to the original wooden beams and red-tiled roof. Not only is it open and bright, but it's perfect for socialising. You can easily flit between cooking in the kitchen and relaxing on the sofa, keeping the conversation flowing the whole time. And don't even get us started on the garden. Scented with honeysuckle and lavender, it's the very picture of a country idyll, with a small gate leading into a secret orchard straight from the pages of a period novel. Lounge in the fresh air with a glass of wine while the little ones (and the pups) run around in the sunshine. For dinner, throw something delicious on the barbecue and dine alfresco as the sun sets.

When you fancy exploring, the nearby village of Thursford has a 500-year old wood (excellent spot for walks), a famous steam engine museum (ideal for trainspotters) and a few country eateries (perfect for afternoon pints). Not far from the Norfolk coast, you can explore the marshes in Cley-next-the-Sea, spot seals in Blakeney or sprawl out on the sandy beaches in Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham, about twenty minutes away by car.

Golden Syrup

The word 'cottage' doesn't do this home justice. Contemporary luxuries and sublime views across the marshes to the sea from inside, coupled with lovely grounds outside, make this a dream place to share with your family or a group of friends. Each bedroom has a unique aesthetic, so run in and claim yours first – we'd bag the master bedroom with its sea vistas. Come morning, make yourself a drink, leisurely take in the stylish interiors, and open the kitchen's French doors onto the gorgeous patio. There's plenty to keep you occupied here, such as an electric piano or play some table tennis and pool in the games room. 

The outdoor spaces are a feature of the home. The top area is fully enclosed with mature planting and features a stone terrace on two levels. Then there’s a gate to the lower garden with gentle sloping lawned area, and best of all there’s a small path between the two gardens that leads down to the Norfolk Coastal Path for the use of local residents.

Once you can bear to tear yourself away from this home, explore your town base of Blakeney and its harbour, marshes, and sweeping pretty landscapes. Keen walkers will love the North Norfolk Coastal path to Morston, a combination of sea breeze and stunning views. The Norfolk coast has so much countryside to see – drive for twenty-five minutes and discover historic Holkham, which has award-winning beaches, a deer park, and a fruit farm where you can pick your own berries.



My Lionheart

Only a twenty-minute ride from Wells-next-the-Sea Beach on the beloved Norfolk Coast, this traditional home sits in the quiet village of Hindringham. See the flowers bloom in the summertime at Hindringham Hall Gardens, just fifteen minutes away on foot. Alternatively, you can buy local produce at the nearby mill and farm shops on your way to Holt – a pretty market town that waits seven miles down the road.

Drive up to this brick and flint cottage and leave your wellies by the front door. Here, you'll wake up beneath a sloped ceiling and wander downstairs into your homely kitchen to cook breakfast. We think the dining room is the perfect place to make plans for the day. When you return, why not read a book in this bright conservatory as your dogs run through the garden? You'll even discover a hi-fi system and board games to keep the whole family entertained. Or, bring your favourite DVDs and cosy up in the living room for a movie night.

A True Love Of Mine

You'll find this flint cottage right in the heart of Field Dalling – a rural town set back from the North Norfolk Heritage Coast. Located within an AONB, you’re perfectly placed for hiking the trails and spotting the wildlife in Blakeney National Nature Reserve, sighting the basking seals on a seal tour through Blakeney Point, or strolling the shores along the heritage coast. 

The options for seaside excursions are endless, but when you're ready to put your walking feet up, come home and relax in this charming and modern cottage. The luscious garden is an excellent spot to soak up the last of the day's sun or stretch out on the plump sofas with a glass of natural wine and the crackling fire. Fix up a comforting dinner in the kitschy kitchen or, if you're not in the mood to cook, grab some fish and chips from your local. We can’t think of a better way to end the day than with a soak in the freestanding copper tub before sinking into your sheets and the log fire flames dancing away in the background.

With several beaches within driving distance and seal tours in nearby Blakeney Nature Reserve, you can make the most of the Norfolk Coast from this home.

The village has built its reputation on local businesses, quality, and uniqueness – and it's all within easy reach of the Norfolk Coast's sandy beaches. Such a great village deserves an appropriately unique stay, which is where this home comes in. The stone exterior gives the whole place a country feel, but the contemporary, velvety interior guarantees a comfortable stay. It's well-suited to families, and your host has made sure to make it feel as welcoming as possible. Each room is filled with light, especially the open-plan, dual-aspect kitchen and living area. That said, our favourite spot to unwind is the private garden. With a pizza oven, heated pavilion, and views of Westgate Orchard, it's the definition of an idyllic escape.
