It may have literary associations with a certain Count Dracula, but you won't find any vampires roaming the streets of Whitby. Instead, it's a charming and memorable seaside town with more than a few fans who return year after year. And a stay in this smart home is bound to be unforgettable, with a great location and a few luxury touches. Set over three floors, and with a striking modern interior, it's perfect for a large family or a group of friends. On the first floor there's a super stylish open-plan kitchen and living space, made for socialising over breakfast or lingering in over drinks in the evening, with a more cosy sitting room on the ground floor. The bedrooms are all of a good size, but it's the master that impresses us the most thanks to its free-standing bath tub in the corner of the room. Stroll into the town to explore its boutiques and eateries, play on the beach, climb the steps up to the abbey ruins and, whatever you do, don't miss out on some of the world's best fish and chips. Here it's all right on your doorstep.

Bumblebee Jasper

Modern, stylish and in the heart of charming Whitby, this home ticks all the boxes for a memorable stay on the North Yorkshire coast. Honeycomb print livens up licks of trendy grey and we particularly loved the subtle nods to Whitby’s history and maritime identity in the living space and bedroom. A dining table with zesty yellow chairs takes centre stage – come together for a home-cooked breakfast and hot cups of tea before throwing on your sun hat and heading to the seaside. You’re a ten-minute walk from the beach – fifteen if you stop for an ice cream. Cross the River Esk and climb the 199 steps to reach the famous Abbey. With all of that exploring, you’ll have worked up quite an appetite, so pick up a fish supper from an award-winning chip shop and enjoy overlooking the harbour. 

Beehive Cottage

This immaculate penthouse is located on the famous Flowergate of Whitby, one of the oldest and most historic streets in the heart of town. From your enviable vantage point, you’re spoilt with vistas stretching all the way from the harbour to the eerie Abbey atop the East Cliff – the aspect from the floor-to-ceiling windows in the bedroom is particularly impressive. Whether you’re staying solo or as part of a couple, you’ll find the place provides ample space to unwind, with plenty of modern comforts that guarantee a fuss-free holiday. When it comes to exploring, you’ve the best of Whitby within a ten-minute walk from your doorstep. Slink down medieval side streets, tackle the famous 199 steps or take it easy and hole up with a pot of tea in an independent café. If you’re keen to explore further along the coast, the X4 bus takes you to Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes, the X93 goes to Scarborough and the number 95 heads to the quaint villages of Grosmont and Lealholm. When the day draws to a close, there’s nothing better than soaking up the twilight with a steamy bag of fish and chips at West Cliff Beach, a five-minute saunter from your building.

The Whitby Bowler

This cosy house is perfect for family breaks to the seaside. It stands on the edge of East Cliff, just a ten-minute walk from Whitby’s town centre and its narrow medieval streets lined with pubs, shops and comfy cafes. You can walk easily to the west side of town, where you’ll find the Blue Flag West Cliff Beach and its brightly coloured beach huts. Add in the wonderful Whitby Abbey and its rich history, and you’ll never be short of things to see and do here. 

The house itself is warm and welcoming, with heaps of space. It’s an excellent choice for a big group of friends or a couple of families travelling together, as there’s plenty of room for everyone. We love the balcony that opens out from the living room – it boasts gorgeous views of Whitby and its harbour, and is the perfect spot for a morning cuppa. Later on in the day, you might pick up takeaway fish and chips to unwrap on one of the picnic tables on the terrace. It’s a lovely way to round off a day at the seaside. 


Boats in the Harbour

Sitting just across from Whitby beach on the scenic West Cliff, this beautifully bright apartment puts the sea on your doorstep and offers a wonderfully comfortable base to call home. 
 
Light pours into the open-plan living room from the stunning bay window giving way to sea views. Make yourself comfortable on the sofa and chairs with a warming mug of tea while you take in the dazzling vistas or gather around the chic dining table for a celebratory meal framed by the views.

When it comes to sightseeing, make your way to the beach (a two-minute walk) for afternoons of fun in the sun, or stroll over to the West Pier – six minutes away – where you can have a go at the arcades and sample the local seafood restaurants serving up the catch of the day. You’re also just a thirteen-minute walk from the 199 Steps that lead up to the Church of Saint Mary, while Whitby Abbey – the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’ – is seventeen minutes away on foot.

This picturesque coastal cottage is tucked away in the heart of Whitby, just steps from the renowned Flowergate and an eight-minute walk from the harbour. Blue Flag West Cliff beach and promenade is just a five-minute walk away – on your way home enjoy traditional fish and chips or visit a nostalgic seaside arcade before exploring the famed Whitby Abbey from Stoker’s Dracula, just an eleven-minute walk away. Cross the road and you'll arrive at Whitby’s West Cliff beach, a blue-flag beach where you can paddle or stroll along the sand, ice cream in hand. There are plenty of nearby seafood restaurants where you can savour the fresh catch of the day, along with independent boutiques and cosy pubs dotted along the cobbled streets. Don't forget to walk up the 199 steps, made famous by Bram Stoker's 'Dracula', to visit the iconic ruined cathedral. And, if you fancy exploring the gorgeous local countryside, then the North York Moors National Park is just outside the town.

Whitby Coastal Haven

Overlooking Whitby's town centre, this cottage is a wonderful home steeped in history. It's a Grade I-listed building dating back to the eighteenth century when it was used as a coach house, and today the home retains its old-world character while still offering plenty of modern luxuries. Sleeping up to ten guests, an extended family or a group of friends looking to escape to the coast will find it impossible not to fall in love with this unique space. The ruins of Whitby Abbey, famously the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula, are just three minutes away from your front door, as is Whitby's very own brewery where you can sample some locally-brewed craft beer. A twenty-minute walk will bring you through the charming town to the beach, where you can paddle on sunny days or take a bracing walk in the colder months. And, with a lovely garden to return home to, make sure you don't forget to organise cocktail hour – the grassy lawn is the perfect spot to enjoy a cool drink as the sun goes down.
