Charming and cosy, this three-room converted stable is perfect for a romantic getaway. It’s been restored to the highest standard, with comfortable furnishings and modern amenities including underfloor heating – this is a getaway location for all seasons. In summer, the patio garden is a lovely spot for a cuppa. Staying here, you’ll be close to Burford’s historic high street and will have easy access to the rolling hills and honey-stone cottages of the Cotswolds. You’ll also be able to drive to Oxford to visit the museums as well as being only 30 minutes from Cheltenham to enjoy the races.


Stable Stay

From the outside, you’d expect Rosemary & Thyme to be a standard Cotswolds cottage, but once you’re inside it’s clear it’s something more. Walking through is like a tour of cultures and styles, from French farmhouse to Belle Epoque, and Rococo to Oriental. There’s a lovely garden, and a short drive away is the pretty town of Lechlade. Venture any further west, and you’ll be deep in rolling hills and villages that epitomise the Cotswolds, but with such an alluring home, you might not want to leave it.

Rosemary & Thyme

Blending the atmosphere of a traditional country cottage with modern, open-plan living, we think Wych Elm is an incredible home for an authentic country getaway. The original features, like the working fireplace and traditional windows, make the space feel cosy despite the large size. With ample space for socialising, it would suit a larger group looking to be well-placed to explore the charming villages of the Cotswolds.


Wych Elm

Experience the magic of lakeside living with a stay in this waterfront home. Nestled within a private estate, you can enjoy refreshing days exploring the great outdoors. There are hiking trails to follow and guests can enjoy access to the shared heated pool and gym. Spa treatments are available for an additional fee and there’s an on-site bar and restaurant. You can also enjoy the comfort of dining on your private deck. The open-plan living area has a fire for cosy evenings and the bedrooms come with en-suite bathrooms and views across the lake. 

Glistening Lake

You’ll find this charming Grade II listed cottage in the village of Eastleach. Surrounded by countryside, it’ll tick all your holiday boxes if you’re seeking somewhere you can truly switch off and relax. With traditional interiors, it’s a real home away from home, but it’s the outdoor space that really caught our eye. With a split-level garden, you can relax on the terrace or follow the secret walkway to the manicured lawns – perfect for those bringing their four-legged friends along for the adventure. 

Cotswold Vines

From the outside, Lovell has that classic look of old-world Cotswolds, with its yellow limestone walls and climbing wisteria, while inside your host has supplemented the home’s original features with super-contemporary furnishings. With a double-sided wood burner separating two sitting rooms, and an outdoor dining space, you’ll be covered in all seasons. The home sits in the historic part of a typically quaint Cotswold village, right on the edge of  Wychwood National Nature Reserve. Walk for a few minutes and you have a terrific country pub, a church, a spa, and a lovely fishing spot on the River Windrush.


Rose by Moonlight

Set on the outskirts of picturesque Quenington, this 18th-century cottage is a calm haven for those looking to explore the Cotswolds at a relaxed pace. It's bright and rustic, the kind of homely interior you'd expect from a historic home, but it doesn't feel outdated. In fact, they lean into modernity here – you'll find fast wi-fi, a smart tv, and an electric vehicle charging here. The vibrant greenery covering the home echoes the surrounding landscape, which you can explore more closely on walking and hiking trails. Two pubs are within walking distance, and the River Coln and knights gate aren't much further.  

The Chimney Sweeper

Close to the Cotswold hot-spots of Burford, Lechlade and Bibury, this Grade II-listed property dates back to the 17th Century and was recently lovingly restored to sleep up to 11 guests. It still feels like a traditional home, with its flagstones, mullioned windows and fantastic fireplace, but with all the modern amenities you need. Only a 5-minute drive to the year-round Cotswold Wildlife Park, there’s also a critically-acclaimed gastropub less than 100m away. With a mature southwest-facing walled garden, patio, barbecue for warmer months, snuggle up by the fire, relax in the hot tub, or pack your wellies for scenic walks direct from the front door when it's cooler. With plenty to do nearby, Dunford Barn is a great year-round base for families and adults to explore the best of the Cotswolds.

Dunford Barn

A charming little cottage in the Oxfordshire countryside, it's so idyllic that House & Garden magazine deemed it worthy of gracing their pages. With exposed beams, original flagstone flooring and a reassuringly solid oak dining table, your host has ensured not to lose that quaint cottage feel by bringing everything into the twenty-first century. After kicking your boots off in the utility room, the cosy sitting room with its inviting fireplace and antique furniture makes for a lovely spot to warm up after bracing winter walks. Like any kitchen with an Aga, its warmth attracts people like moths to a flame and you'll soon be moving people out of your way as you look for a clear space to chop, while they chat. The upstairs bedrooms offer endless views over the stunning cottage garden and rolling fields towards the Thames. The children's room comes equipped with lots of books, while there's another small single for gran or grandad. Head out with the children and follow the footpaths leading from the cottage gate down to the lock and watch the riverboats or head to Tadpole Bridge for a well-deserved pint at the Trout.

Sevastopol Sketches

A lush lakeside retreat awaits at this cosy cabin. It sits on a wonderful lake resort in Lechlade-on-Thames, just outside the southern edge of the Cotswolds, so it's ideal for hikers and cyclists as well as lovers of water sports. The cabin is traditional yet stylish, with boho decor that makes it feel like a peaceful haven – and there's a deck over the lake where you can sip your morning coffee. You'll have access to some fantastic communal facilities here, such as the on-site spa, friendly cafe and 850 acres of leafy green spaces. You can even upgrade your stay to include activities such as ziplining and high ropes courses.

The Amber Rose

Tucked away in Shilton just outside the Cotswolds AONB, this 17th-century cottage is packed with character. The wood-burning stove and timber beams create a delightfully cosy atmosphere indoors, while the honey-stone exterior is the picture of Cotswold charm. Three bedrooms are located in the main house. An annexe houses the fourth bedroom, making it ideal for grandparents or couples seeking extra privacy. Come summertime, you can enjoy dinner and drinks on the patio – or, even better, head to the local pub a five-minute stroll away. Fancy a change of scenery? Popular spots like Burford, Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens, Bourton-on-the-Water, and Oxford are within easy driving distance.

Shilton Stone

This charming cottage is located in Clanfield Bampton, in a delightful corner of the Cotswolds. You can set off on countryside walks – and strolls to the pub – straight from your doorstep. You'll also have a garden and private woodland to explore. The cottage is cosy and comfortable, with wood-burning stoves in the snug and sitting room. There’s an open-plan kitchen and dining space, where you can cook and dine as a family. Bedroom two boasts a balcony, the perfect spot for a morning cuppa.
