From the moment you see the grand stone exterior and cobbled courtyard, you’ll know that this ever-so-charming home is steeped in history. It's a former malthouse that’s over 300 years old and filled with traditional features. When you step into the entrance hall, you’re entering through the large oak door onto the original cart-way, and as you start trying to choose which bedroom you want to lay claim to, you’ll be winding your way up a turret stairway with rope bannisters, surrounded by wooden beams and original fireplaces. The interior has been fully renovated, with a modern handmade kitchen, squishy sofas, and cute-as-a-button bedrooms. Sip your afternoon tea perched on the sunny window seat with a good book in hand (there's an extensive collection to choose from), while gazing at the expansive green views of the playing fields and village church in the backdrop. Elsewhere, the large 14-seater pine dining table will be the perfect spot to savour a slow dinner with the entire group. Although in the garden you'll notice a patio, complete with outdoor furniture, that’s ideal for wine and cheese nights – there's a large lawn and a range of outdoor games available too (including table tennis) for hours of early evening fun. You don’t have to go far to continue the historical theme, as the pub next door is one of the oldest in the country and has been the resting place for many a monarch visiting the area since the 15th century. The surrounding county town, Frome, just a fifteen-minute drive away, was voted one of the best places to live in the UK - explore the rich history, shop at independent boutiques, buy fresh produce at the local market or dine at one of the many eateries dotted around nearby.

Even before you enter, it’s clear that there’s something special about Faerie World. The high position of the cottage gives a heavenly view of the stream below, and you can hear the babbling water from the terrace, which is itself surrounded by flowers, and makes you feel like you’re in a fairytale. Once inside, the living room and bedroom don’t disappoint. The bedroom in particular, with its Farrow & Ball colours, stands out. The kitchen doesn’t have the same aesthetic charm, but that’s a small gripe, and shouldn't give you any cause for concern.

It's a great mix of modern and industrial, with exposed timber beams under high ceilings and ladders as lampstands harking back to the building's watermill days. The kitchen and living room have been converted into an open space blessed with heaps of natural light thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows. We loved how cosy this place feels, with tons of books, a good selection of board games, a piano, and lots of personal touches that will instantly make any family feel at home. A classic Aga Stove provides warmth in the kitchen, and a picture-frame window shows off the rolling hills. There's plenty of prep space for cooking, so pour yourself a glass of wine, put a vinyl on the record player and let your culinary skills run wild. Outside, the sunny terrace and manicured garden are perfect for unwinding on sunnier days. Historic, vibrant Bath is a ten-minute drive away, so you're not far from restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques, but if you want to feel the oasis of a real countryside escape, rural walks and cycles through green fields, bluebell forests and single track cowslip strewn country have you covered.

This beautiful period home is right in the heart of historic Bath – in fact, Jane Austen lived in the terrace opposite from 1804-1805. You can definitely sense that period grandeur inside, with impressively high ceilings, marble fireplaces and gorgeous sash windows looking straight out onto Green Park. Each room feels light-filled and cosy – curl up on the plush sofa with a good book on rainy days (we recommend anything by Jane Austen to really set the mood), settle down for a light meal at the table and watch the world go by from the window, or nod off after a busy day in the sumptuous bedroom. And there's plenty to do right on your doorstep, with shops, restaurants, markets, museums and the Theatre Royal all within walking distance. Green Park Station around the corner hosts a Saturday morning farmers' market which is well worth a visit, and the must-see Roman Baths are just a quick seven-minute stroll away.

Tucked in a quiet valley outside of Bath is this luxurious, Grade II-listed Georgian manor house. Built in 1742, this honey-coloured home has been beautifully maintained and restored to its former glory - with a few modern updates, of course. There is an abundance of natural light flowing throughout the home, which the owner's have made the most of thanks to stylish decor choices. White walls only add to the calming feel, beautiful mirrors create an airy feel, and skylights/expansive windows create an indoor/outdoor feel. But there are plenty of splashes of colour here to add a punch of personality - we love the purple furniture in one of the living rooms, and the bright blue walls in the luxurious bar. If the weather is fine, we think you'll be outside enjoying this home's immaculate country garden. There's a barbecue, large table for entertaining, sun loungers for snoozing and private seated nooks overlooking the apple orchard for when you need some time to yourself.  And if you're looking for art, culture and gourmet excitement away from the home, the splendid city of Bath is only a fifteen-minute drive away.

Add into the mix, gig sash windows, high ceilings, and the central (yet surprisingly peaceful) location – and you've got yourself a pristine base from which to explore the picturesque city of Bath. Stroll just seven minutes to visit the historic Roman baths and explore the high street boutiques, cafes and restaurants that surround it. There's no need to drive or even use public transport here, as most of the city is within reach of a convenient walk from your apartment.

Watch the sun set over the Somerset hills from the lush grounds – we love the stunning views from here. Later, relax in the hot tub or have a soak in the gorgeous slipper bath. When you're ready to venture out, the Georgian splendour of Bath is a twenty-minute drive away. Spend the day exploring the Royal Crescent, the Circus and the Roman Baths, as well as the many museums such as the Jane Austen Centre. Then unwind at the Thermae Bath Spa with its roof-top pool. For a more relaxed pace, there's a pub and café for lunch in Timsbury, around a five-minute stroll. Or put on your hiking boots and explore the glorious Somerset countryside.

Occupying the top two floors of a classic Grade II Georgian terrace, this thoroughly modern pad puts you within minutes of countless sights, including the Roman Baths, Pulteney Bridge and Bath Abbey. It’s not just its stellar locale that caught our eye, though. Decorated and previously owned by a superyacht owner, the space is all about glossy polished finishes and bespoke designer details, from the Andrew Martin furnishings to the main bedroom’s cushions by Westwood and McQueen’s former textile designer. More luxe additions include a boiling water tap in the kitchen, the bathroom’s freestanding tub and Egyptian cotton bedding. What’s more, you’ve got access to a beautiful communal garden –  a reminder of the former orchard here tended by the Abbey’s Benedictine brethren.

Set into a lush hillside in Bath with a stunning garden and lavish outdoor decks, we can begin to see how this location received a 5 star gold by the Tourist Board. The living spaces are exemplary- we loved the high spec, fully stocked kitchen, the endless entertainment options that include both books and Netflix, and all the rooms opening up to lush green expanses. At a fifteen minute walk from the Widcombe Parade, you have access to restaurants for varying palates, pubs, cafes and other amenities. While the historic sites, museums and shopping in Bath will keep you rather busy in the day, you can end your day with a therapeutic session at the Thermae Spa or a show at The Theatre Royal.

Stone floors run throughout the home – some old, some more recent – each documenting the evolution of this building over time. The garden pool is certainly a new addition, along with a dreamy pool house complete with changing rooms and a restorative steam room. On fine days, lounge out by the heated waters and enjoy a lazy alfresco lunch before treating yourself to a steam – plus, an automated cover keeps the pool at the ideal temperature all the time. The home itself is furnished in a contemporary farmhouse style with every detail attended to – offering a combination of cutting-edge modern spaces and a cosy cottage feel. The large kitchen is the heart of the home, with a beautifully restored AGA offering post-walk warmth on cold winter days. Of course, if you’d rather sprawl out on the couch, there’s plenty to choose from with their own wood burners to keep you warm. For spring and summer living, the kitchen conservatory is pretty remarkable – floor-to-ceiling sliding doors in the dining area open out onto the garden and rolling countryside. Upstairs, the impeccably styled bedrooms are decorated with floral print wallpaper, super-soft throws, and armchairs. The master bedroom even manages to fit an elegant freestanding bath alongside the dressing table – sneak away in the afternoons and take a blissfully relaxing soak. Outside, a terraced garden is spread over various levels, complete with a croquet lawn and even a mature woodland. If you’d like a break from country solitude, it’s just a twenty-minute walk to Babington House, perfect for Soho House club members to grab drinks, food and use the facilities. Otherwise, head into Frome, just a ten-minute drive away, with plenty of options for dining, shopping and sipping tea in town.

Blessed with Georgian townscape views, why not stay in the former home of a 19th-century British Prime Minister? It's clear that this listed townhouse retains its stately character, boasting antique furnishings, inviting bedrooms, and bright bathrooms. While the three-storey layout with lots of stairs to climb won't work for everybody, there's so much space to spread out after touring the city. Lucky for you, the central location puts Bath's most-loved landmarks a fifteen-minute stroll away, plus restaurants and transport links nearby.

One of the things that we like most about The Austen is the way that it has retained its sense of history. The building is over 250 years old, and the hosts have managed to keep many of the original features, including the wood panelling, fireplaces, and Georgian shutters. The home is also in the very centre of Bath. As in, less than five minutes on foot to the Roman baths themselves (and the same distance to the station, which while less glamorous, is also worth knowing). Even if it weren’t kept so well, it would be a good base for exploring the city, but as it is, staying here is simply a delight.
