A beautiful amalgamation of 500 years of history, this stunning Somerset farmhouse and converted dairy spans the centuries. Stone floors run throughout the home – some old, some more recent – each documenting the evolution of this building over time. The garden pool is certainly a new addition, along with a dreamy pool house complete with changing rooms and a restorative steam room. On fine days, lounge out by the heated waters and enjoy a lazy alfresco lunch before treating yourself to a steam – plus, an automated cover keeps the pool at the ideal temperature all the time. The home itself is furnished in a contemporary farmhouse style with every detail attended to – offering a combination of cutting-edge modern spaces and a cosy cottage feel. The large kitchen is the heart of the home, with a beautifully restored AGA offering post-walk warmth on cold winter days. Of course, if you’d rather sprawl out on the couch, there’s plenty to choose from with their own wood burners to keep you warm. For spring and summer living, the kitchen conservatory is pretty remarkable – floor-to-ceiling sliding doors in the dining area open out onto the garden and rolling countryside. Upstairs, the impeccably styled bedrooms are decorated with floral print wallpaper, super-soft throws, and armchairs. The master bedroom even manages to fit an elegant freestanding bath alongside the dressing table – sneak away in the afternoons and take a blissfully relaxing soak. Outside, a terraced garden is spread over various levels, complete with a croquet lawn and even a mature woodland. If you’d like a break from country solitude, it’s just a twenty-minute walk to Babington House, perfect for Soho House club members to grab drinks, food and use the facilities. Otherwise, head into Frome, just a ten-minute drive away, with plenty of options for dining, shopping and sipping tea in town. 

Hancocks Farm

Set on a hilltop in the beautiful countryside surrounding Frome, this renovated barn conversion makes for a splendid base for Somerset stays. It’s been lovingly renovated into a modern and comfortable home, with everything you might need for your visit to this pretty part of the UK. 

You can look forward to sunny afternoons in the garden, taking in the views of Orchardleigh Estate. Perhaps you’ll cook on the barbecue while the kids play. Evenings and rainy days will be spent around the log burner, playing board games or curled up on the oh-so-comfortable sofa. Your four-legged friends are welcome to join, too, so nobody has to miss out. 

It takes twenty-one minutes to stroll along the River Frome into Frome itself, where you’ll find independent shops and charming cafes. It’s a lovely town to mooch around, set amid Somerset countryside. Woodland walks are right on your doorstep, so make sure you bring your boots. The gorgeous National Trust property of Stourhead is twenty minutes away by car, and is well worth a run out. 


Vista Barn

Buzzy Bruton life is on your doorstep at this Grade II listed Georgian townhouse, set right along the well-heeled high street. Mingle with the movers, shakers, and millionaires in its gastropubs, independent shops, and art galleries. Or don your walking boots for bracing country walks – the house has direct access to a quiet lane leading onto the rolling countryside surrounding Bruton.

Back home, there’s room for all ten of you to pile into this magnificent three-storey home. Filled to the rafters with Georgian architectural details, original flagstone floors and exposed brickwork archways strike a note of authenticity, while a contemporary extension housing the open concept living space is firmly in the 21st century. And we love how pared back and gloriously clutter-free everywhere feels, allowing the contemporary artwork and vintage statement furniture to do all the talking.

On sunny mornings, spill out into the garden room and slide back the French doors onto the suntrap patio – there’s an outdoor dining area complete with a built-in barbecue that’s prime for lazy breakfasts or alfresco evening meals. Winter evenings are all about getting around that Fritz Hansen dining room table with original Eames chairs for slap-up dinners and catch-ups. And you can always keep the night flowing with a game of table tennis in the games room, squirreled away in the ancient stone garage. Or get your game face on for a late-night session around that Edwardian poker table.


A Royal Flush

If there's anything more romantic than this charming, converted horsebox with glorious views of the surrounding farmlands and rolling Somerset countryside beyond, we want to hear about it. Lovingly transformed into a cosy home, with rustic yet stylish furnishings you'll want for nothing here. This unique home brings together the joys of camping (fresh air, barbecue dinners, stargazing till late beside the firepit) with the comfort of a boutique hotel room. Think quality bed linens, a plush sofa and fireplace to nestle up beside, vases of freshly cut flowers, and an enormous bathroom complete with a rainfall shower. But outside is really where the magic happens here. By day, pick fresh herbs from the garden at your front door to season your picnic sandwiches, best enjoyed down by the tree-dappled pond. And at night, we can't think of anything better than reclining on the outdoor sofas and admiring those rural views with a glass of something chilled as the sun goes down. Should you ever be persuaded to leave this little idyll, you'll find an award-winning traditional inn just a five-minute walk away in the historic village of Mells, thought to be one of the prettiest in Somerset. Or jump in the car and head for the vibrant town of Frome, just an eight-minute drive away.

Horsing Around

Located in Upper Vobster, this manor house is perfect for family get-togethers. With a peaceful rural location within easy driving distance of Frome and Bruton, it's an ideal place to unwind and explore. The home is set amongst a private estate, so while you’ll have a large walled garden, pool and pool house, you may bump into other guests on the drive. Inside, the modern and characterful interior offers plenty of space to relax – there are two conservatories, a cinema room and a steam room. With all that in mind, there's no doubt this is a special home to make memories, and if you’re visiting as a larger group, you can book other homes on the estate.

Whispering Meadow

There’s no better way to embrace the ethereal Somerset countryside around Glastonbury than staying in a converted church. In the evening, the stained-glass windows of this gothic church still glow against the landscape, as a roaring wood-burning stove warms up the open living space inside. 30-foot, knaved ceilings inside let the chatter of good times rise to the Gods and there’s a banquet-sized dining table for the whole group on the mezzanine level. Admire the rose stained-glass windows as you sup. 

The kitchen is tucked away and has everything you need for self-catering One of our favourite spots is the sunroom, set with tables and chairs for an idyllic afternoon tea. Either that or the hand-painted claw-foot tub in the main bathroom – ideal for a soak after hiking up Glastonbury Tor. Or, soak the day away in the outdoor hot tub.

This church is tucked into the hamlet of East Horrington, a ten-minute drive from the Cathedral town of Wells where you’ll find shops, cafés and plenty of places to eat. It’s a twenty-minute drive to Glastonbury and the countryside in between is full of walking and cycling trails to explore. 

Gothic Church

With the ambience of a country hotel, this apartment, set in an old manor house, is a great place to stay. Showcasing the grandeur of the eighteenth century with its original window shutters, cast iron radiators, and ornate plasterwork, the decor is a real highlight. And we love the balcony overlooking the communal gardens – perfect for evening drinks. Located near Frome, you’ll find plenty to do in this vibrant town, which is rich in history and culture. Browse the independent shops or have a wander around the regular markets on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

And, if you're feeling active, the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is just a fifteen-minute drive away, where you can hike or cycle through the stunning landscapes. 

Boutique Bliss

Built in 1900, this home consists of two characterful dwellings that are ideal for a big family trip or group getaway. Each house has its own living space and kitchen, meaning there’s plenty of room to spread out and get comfy. As for the location, you’ll be in a great spot close to the centre of Frome, where you’ll find independent shops, cosy pubs, and a regular market on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The Times named Frome as one of the best places to live in Britain – and we’re sure you’ll love your time living here too.

Unwind in the luxurious brass bath as the daylight streams in, making it shine and sparkle– you'll feel like royalty.

Take the children to Longleat Safari Park, where you can drive through the monkey safari park, admire the gorilla enclosure, find your way through the hedge maze and relax with a cup of coffee at the Chameleon Tree cafe – there's even more on offer too. The National Trust Cley Hill is also within driving distance, a historical landmark that provides a gorgeous view of the countryside – perfect for a lovely walk with the family, offering a ton of photo opportunities to show your loved ones back at home.

Set on the site of a medieval chapel, this townhouse once belonged to a prosperous cloth merchant – but today it's a comfortable base to explore the cobbled streets and bohemian charms of Frome. You'll find yourself in the heart of the town's vibrant artisan quarter, St. Catherine's, with bars, eateries and galleries all just a short walk away. The courtyard is perfect for sunny afternoons, plus extra bedding is available for a fee if you'd like to use the sofa bed.
