Hidden within an ancient beech forest on a prestigious estate, this treehouse is great for nature lovers. The wrap-around deck boasts some lovely views, seating, and an outdoor bathtub. Up to two furry friends are welcome to join you for an additional fee, and you can expect to see other dogs and animals during your stay, so you might want to bring earplugs if you're sensitive to the sounds of wildlife at night. An electric buggy can be provided for exploring the estate, which includes an on-site restaurant and shops. You'll have electric lanterns and lights outside for getting around after dark, and the view of the stars at night is something else.

The Artful Bee

This Grade-II listed cottage is located on a 16,000 acre heritage estate in West Sussex. The historic home boasts an open fireplace, a cosy snug, and a large garden with an alfresco dining area – perfect for enjoying locally-sourced treats from the local farm shop (a two-minute drive away). With a range of on-site activities, including golf, foraging, and afternoon tea in the walled garden, the estate is a destination in itself. And if you want to explore the surrounding area, the nearby South Downs are ideal for hiking or mountain biking.

The Great Bloom

Based on the southern edge of the South Downs National Park, this charming abode is ideal for those who want a cosy and comforting place to return to after long days exploring nature. Here, you're surrounded by quiet, green expanses and tranquil woodland, while still being just a short walk on foot to some idyllic villages, as well as some friendly pubs where you can enjoy a pint or two. The inside of the home is relaxed and laidback – bells and whistles are forgone for creature comforts, making it ideal for those who want a stay with no frills, no fuss – just perfect peace.

Forest Whispers

The world is your oyster at Head Over Hills. Nestled into the rolling hills of the South Downs by Amberly Wild Brooks, this home blends rustic living with an incredible range of modern luxuries to create a unique space that inspires you to slow down and spend time with your loved ones. Boasting 360-degree views of the surrounding landscape, a meditation pod, a sundeck, and private bluebell woods, we can’t think of a better place to unwind. Head out to the hills to explore the impressive sceneries (host Jemma also offers bike rentals), then come home and soothe your aching muscles in the wood-burning hot tub. Jemma also offers a menu of wellness retreat packages at an extra cost (think along the lines of yoga and pilates classes, sound baths and meditation instructors). And if you want to learn a new skill, you can also book vegan and raw food cookery courses – there are even creative tutorials in things like art and photography. At night, we recommend cooking up a storm in the bespoke kitchen (or hiring a private chef to do the honours), socialising with friends, and taking in your stunning surroundings.

Head Over Hills

Located in the heart of beautiful Chichester on England’s south coast, this bright modern flat is part of an eco-friendly development that features a sedum natural-plant roof, underfloor heating, and sustainable furnishings. The apartment’s social design, with its open plan living room, kitchen, and diner make it an ideal setting for a group of friends looking to explore the region’s mix of natural beauty and rich history. While immediate sites include the city’s cathedral and Roman baths, the stunning beaches at Wittering and the beautiful South Downs National Park are only a short drive away.

The Green Cube

What makes this home really stand out is its proximity to the Kingley Vale National Nature Reserve – it's within walking distance. There are plenty of attractions a drive away, too, such as Goodwood and Bosham Harbour – both are within a ten-minute drive. A vineyard also nearby offers tours and tastings of their sparkling wine, still wine and gin. Located in the village of Funtington, you can relax on the bench in the lawned garden. Inside, the kitchen area is upstairs and has sloping ceilings, so if you're tall, you'll need to watch your head. Also, there's no dining table, but there's a breakfast bar with ample seating.

A Funtington Fable

Occupying the top two floors of this former Victorian photographer's studio is a light-filled, contemporary space that's perfect for anyone looking to explore the South Downs. From here, you can enjoy all the benefits of easy access to everything you need, with the tranquillity of a rural setting. Your hosts have designed the entire apartment with the needs of their guests in mind. The three individually decorated, stylish bedrooms offer luxurious accommodation for up to six people on the first floor. Plus, there's a sofa bed in the studio for an additional two guests. The top floor is more vibrant, with bold colours and eye-catching design, including what we would usually call floor-to-ceiling windows, except these ones take over half of the roof as well. The kitchen is equipped with everything the savvy chef might need to rustle up delicious group dinners. Step onto the streets of the historic market town of Petworth, and you'll find antique shops, cafes and the National Trust Petworth House and Park. Slightly further afield, you're a mere twenty minutes from glorious Goodwood – famous for its historic racetrack and Festival of Speed – and half an hour from the coast at Climping. There are so many events locally that it's well worth a bit of research before you arrive.

The Photographer's Studio

Charming and quirky, this luxury treehouse is a splendid choice for a romantic escape for two. It’s a cosy home-from-home where you can really unwind and get back to nature. Explore the woodland on foot – your four-legged friends are welcome to join you – or make use of your host’s bikes. You might like to visit nearby Chichester for a meal out or a spot of shopping, before heading back to the treehouse for a quiet night in. 

Leaves & Oak

Sleepy village life is on your doorstep at this charming end-terrace cottage in Amberley – the pearl of Sussex. Set at the foot of the South Downs and offering knockout views of the Amberley Wildbrooks nature reserve, it’s no surprise this is a declared Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A home for all seasons, winters are made for hunkering down beside the fire after country walks on the Downs. Meanwhile, summer is all about barbecues in the pretty walled garden. A cottage of this heritage comes with its quirks. Guests should be aware the twin bedroom is pocket-sized, and there are some steep stairs to contend with. But that's all part of the charm.

Pearl of Sussex

Keen to escape your daily grind without going too far away from reality? This house, just a mile out of Chichester, has you covered. Set up like your typical modern family home, the space presents everything you'll need to seize the moment and feel genuinely settled in (as though it were your own home). 

With an open plan kitchen, dining and living area, the main hub of the home extends out onto the garden – presenting an abundance of extra space to enjoy, particularly when the weather is kind. And with a separate, additional living room, plus secluded bedroom spaces – you'll find plenty of quiet spaces to work from home if required from here too. 

Nestled just a twenty-minute walk from the town centre of Chichester and around a twenty-minute drive from the coastline of West Sussex, you'll have the local beaches and amenities at your fingertips here. 




Seize the Moment

Escape to the South Downs countryside with this home in East Dean. You’ll have a pub within walking distance, while Goodwood, perfect for racing enthusiasts, is a short drive away. A bit further on, you’ll find Chichester with its cathedral. Of course, there are countryside walks on your doorstep too, or you can take in the views from this cottage. Alternatively, why not relax in the garden when the Sussex sun shines? The interiors are traditional, which is in keeping with this home, but it may not be to your taste if you prefer a more modern look.

A Warbler's Call

This former bakery has plenty of character and charm, making it a solid option for an escape to West Sussex. Built in the 1800s, it's been well maintained, renovated to a high standard and tastefully decorated throughout. We loved the original features (like the sash windows, fireplaces and bakers’ oven); good-size modern kitchen, with a central island for chatting over a glass of wine; king-size beds with crisp, fresh linens; and the sweet courtyard garden: a real little sun trap. The home's location, right in the heart of the town of Arundel, gives easy access to coffee shops, pubs and independent shops – particularly for those who love browsing for art and antiques – as well as stunning views over the famous castle as well. You’re just a few minutes drive to great spots on the South Coast – less than 20 to Worthing; 40 into Brighton – making this a great spot, whether you're into sightseeing or just atmospheric and cosy places to stay.
