There's nothing quite like escaping to the country for a few days and this converted stable barn is a million miles away from the stresses of day-to-day life. Bright, open and immaculate in every way, it's a place to relax, take a deep breath of fresh, country air and enjoy the company of your loved ones. Set on the owners' farm, and right next to their stables, you'll have a great view of the horses being fed each morning – something that's bound to excite the children. 

Anything but rustic, the interiors here are stylish and high-end, with wide-plank flooring and plenty of fabulous stripped back timber beams. The huge living space, surrounded on three sides by floor-to-ceiling windows, is the heart of the home, with squashy velvet sofas, a dining table for six and a delightful kitchen. Equipped with everything you could need, keen cooks will be in their element.

Set in the South Downs National Park, with views across the rolling hills, here you'll have your own private lawned garden area and you're welcome to explore the rest of the grounds. It's a twenty-minute walk into the pretty market town of Bishop's Waltham, with its shops and pubs, and don't miss a visit to the ruins of its historic abbey. And it's less than a half-hour drive to both Southampton and Portsmouth.

The Saddler's Rooms

Even before you enter, it’s clear that there’s something special about Faerie World. The high position of the cottage gives a heavenly view of the stream below, and you can hear the babbling water from the terrace, which is itself surrounded by flowers, and makes you feel like you’re in a fairytale. Once inside, the living room and bedroom don’t disappoint. The bedroom in particular, with its Farrow & Ball colours, stands out. The kitchen doesn’t have the same aesthetic charm, but that’s a small gripe, and shouldn't give you any cause for concern.

Faerie World

Staying in this charming Cotswolds cottage can make you feel like you’re a character from a Jane Austen novel. Located in a wonderfully secluded part of Wiltshire and surrounded by sprawling fields and farm animals, this home is a rural sanctuary of calm. French doors merge the comfortable living room with the natural light and country air of the outdoors – it's the perfect spot for relaxing with a good book, playing games or rustling up a home-cooked meal while socialising with friends and family. Grab a glass of your favourite and sit out on the garden patio, which overlooks picturesque views of the verdant valley. In the mood for exploring? This location gives you easy access to countless walking trails, and when you’re not wandering the fields or following footpaths, there’s a host of traditional pubs and local restaurants to take your fancy. While you’re here, it’s worth visiting the nearby towns of Malmesbury and Tetbury – and check your calendar, maybe your stay overlaps with the famed Badmiton Horse Trials or Tetbury Woolsack Race. 

Penny-Farthing

Surrounded by local boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants, this Vogue-featured home sits in the heart of Tetbury, with many of the Cotswolds' beautiful nature spots and hiking trails nearby. Spanning four floors, you'll find an awe-inspiring collection of antiques in this home, with every corner telling a different story and capturing a different mood. From crates from far-away tea-estates and passionate ship-building to elaborate paintings and sculptures, we love how the objects and the sheer architecture of the house encapsulate different moments in time. Bold pops of yellow and decorative neon signs add a touch of modern style to the space. Our favourite part? The private courtyard, peppered with whimsical features that combine with the string lights to make evenings feel magical. With a wide range of amenities to top it all off, this home is a living history book of luxury and design – you'll never forget it.

Even Keel

Tucked away amid the countryside surrounding the village of Wroughton, this delightful home makes for a memorable base for visits to Wiltshire. It’s been in the owner’s family for over a hundred years, and the love that’s been poured into it is evident. 

The vast gardens are beautiful, a wonderful setting-off point for walks and bike rides in the area. Explore the countryside safe in the knowledge that on your return you can warm up by a roaring fire – no visit to the English countryside can guarantee dry weather, after all. The Aga in the traditional farmhouse kitchen keeps things cosy too. The kitchen is a lovely spot for lively family breakfasts, all seated around the huge dining table tucking into local sausages and eggs. 

Should you choose to dine out, you have your pick of country pubs in the area, as well as restaurants and cafes in nearby Marlborough. There’s something for everyone in this charming corner of the UK. 

Adventure-seekers will enjoy the Cotswold Water Park, which is a twenty-three-minute drive. There’s an assortment of lakes with activities ranging from paddleboarding to wild swimming – that’s if you’ve not had your fill in the swimming pool back at the house. The Basset Down Golf Course is just ten minutes away, providing fun for those that prefer to keep their feet dry. 


Round & Round The Garden

Situated in the picturesque North Wessex Downs and just a five-minute from Marlborough's bustling High Street, this Grade II-listed cottage is an absolute charmer. Your hosts have recently refreshed the interior, going beyond the usual lick of paint and new carpets, going as far as to kit it out with a brand new bespoke kitchen complete with a stunning range – perfect for the home cooks out there.

That said, Marlborough is blessed with plenty of options when it comes to dining out. Top picks include Rick Stein, which serves up modern British fare – Dan's at the Crown offers elevated versions of the classics, plus the Michelin Guide recommended The Bell at West Overton, where you'll tuck into Mediterranean-inspired dishes just a four-mile drive out of town.

Continue a few minutes further along the road, and it won't be long before you end up in Avebury, home to Europe's largest neolithic stone circle. If that whets your appetite, then it's a forty-minute drive south to Stonehenge, the world's most famous and sophisticated stone circle. 

For a day trip to a historic location with a less mysterious past, the charming city of Bath is an hour away. With beautiful Georgian architecture, contemporary culture and astonishingly well-preserved Roman baths, there's a reason it's regarded as an obligatory stop on so many itineraries.

Awake Sweet England

Welcome to a rural retreat that serves up not only the perfect idyllic location, surrounded by fields but also bags of style and comfort. There's nothing rustic about this place, with underfloor heating, window walls and a high-end kitchen and bathroom. A modern oak barn that feels private and secluded, it's the ideal space to get away from it all and enjoy a slower pace of life.

Start your day with coffee at the breakfast bar, and decide between a long walk in the Chilterns and exploring the nearby towns and villages (we recommend the market town of Thame, just an eight-minute drive away). But if you're here to go completely off the radar for a few days, that's fine too – there's nothing stopping you from lounging in the garden hammock all day, soaking in the private hot tub and streaming your favourite shows on TV. And as the sun begins to set, light the barbecue and enjoy your meal on the patio, before heading up to the balcony for the best view of the stars before bed.



Forgotten Fields

Although it's been a couple of centuries since the Grade-II listed Georgian building that this apartment sits within was built, the contemporary interior design still retains an air of timeless sophistication that we feel would please the original architects if they were able to see it.

The sleek kitchen surfaces and muted colour palette are instantly soothing and work to emphasise the bountiful amount of natural light that streams in through the tall windows on the far side of the space — which also look out to a beautiful view of the rooftops of Bath. There's a discernible mid-century inspiration when it comes to the furnishings and the sleek bathroom is pretty stylish, too.

When you want to see more of this picturesque city, the centre is a ten-minute walk and offers spas, Regency buildings and an interesting selection of museums. Royal Victoria Park takes the same amount of time to reach on foot.



Portland Stone

Beautiful inside and out. This villa's contemporary 1950's Italian-inspired interior gives way to sprawling Hampshire farmland. Watch sheep graze from in and around the private pool or ample outdoor seating. And let the peaceful atmosphere follow you inside by admiring the views through floor-to-ceiling windows. Location-wise, you're a little secluded, which is half the appeal, but Winchester isn't more than a few minutes away by car. Location and looks? You can see why this polished house made it into the collection. Plus, the addition of the private gym and fire pit is another nice touch here.

English Splendour

Perfect for a romantic rural retreat, this cottage is full of chocolate-box charm. Small in size, it still packs a punch with added extras such as the wood burner and roll-top bath, ideal for relaxing and warming up after a day out hiking the Cotswolds with your four-legged friends by your side. The cosy kitchen is well-equipped with all you need to rustle up homemade dinners, or for a meal out, the local pub is a mere two-minute walk away. 

The River's Edge

This apartment makes for an excellent base in Swindon. It’s bright and comfortable, equally well suited to visits for work as to family breaks. It’s petite but well furnished with everything you might need for a short stay.

After a hectic day seeing the sights, you’ll be glad to have a cosy lounge to curl up in. Watch movies while dinner is cooking, then sit down at the table to dine together. If you don’t fancy cooking, you’re in luck, as the apartment is on a street bustling with bars, restaurants and independent shops. You’ll have plenty to choose from when it comes to dining out. 

The apartment is in the heart of Swindon’s Old Town, which is fitting given the nod to retro styling in this home. You’ll still have all the modern amenities you’ll need though, whether it’s wi-fi or a desk to work at.
