The spa is shared only between the host’s family and your group, with the charming cottage itself being connected directly to the spa building, so you can travel between the two without ever going outside. You’ll probably want to spend some time outside though – the surrounding Gloucestershire countryside is a treat for the eyes and for the soul. The garden backs onto fields and you're a short walk away from Bredon Hill (a popular cycling destination), while a great local pub is just a quick fifteen-minute bike ride away, or closer by car. The cottage itself is modern and thoughtfully decorated, with bright skylights, roomy bathrooms and yellow and blue walls that create a relaxing space. After working up an appetite in the pool, gather around the wooden table for dinner before unwinding by the fire with a bottle of wine. Plus, your host is more than happy to help you arrange spa treatments and provide extras like toys, games, bikes and baby equipment – so it's unlikely you'll run out of things to do at this fabulous countryside retreat.

Located a stone's throw from the famous Fleece Inn, this delightful cottage is the definitive answer to that longing we get when driving past all those charming thatched roofs in the Cotswolds (though it's actually just over the border in Worcestershire). Your hosts have worked tirelessly to deliver interiors that feel both modern and historically charming at once – the greatest example of which being the upstairs bedrooms. Both are tucked under beams and eaves but still maintain an atmosphere of luxury through high-quality bedding and furniture. Start your day by tucking into breakfast in the bright conservatory before heading off to explore nearby villages – picturesque Chipping Campden is a twelve-minute drive away, while Bourton-on-the-Water is half an hour away. If cooking during your country break is not on the cards, the Fleece Inn is steps away and serves traditional English favourites, or you could arrange a private chef through your hosts. Then, at the end of a long day, return home to enjoy a quiet night in by the TV or watch the sun go down from the cushioned window seat.

Enjoy a romantic stay at this handsome barn conversion, lying at the end of a track, on a family-run arable farm, surrounded by fields – this is a sublime retreat. Relax with a glass of bubbly in the private hot tub with its idyllic views through the farm to the fields beyond (your lovely hosts provide bathrobes and slippers), then savour a barbecue lunch in the sun. It's also the perfect spot to do a bit of stargazing when the night skies are clear and full of sparkling diamonds. Beautiful bi-fold doors provide plenty of light inside this single-level barn, which was once a grain store. We love the gorgeous stone floor and exposed wooden roof beams framing the high ceiling. A fresh colour scheme of pale cream, yellows and greys complement the rustic yet stylish design. If you can tear yourself away from this love nest, there's plenty to explore. Go for a walk to the historic riverside village of Bidford-on-Avon, sixteen minutes on foot, where you'll find an array of charming pubs, restaurants, shops, and a picturesque church built in 1250. Or visit Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon, around a twenty-five-minute drive, while stunning Warwick Castle is a few minutes more in the car. The magnificent Cotswolds are on your doorstep too – Hidcote Manor Garden, near Chipping Campden, just over a fifteen-minute ride, which has one of Britain's most influential Arts and Crafts gardens.

The L-shaped space is super cosy, with an open-plan kitchen where you can rustle up some tasty meals and a breakfast bar where you can sip your morning espresso. The living room is full of rustic charm, with a wood-burning stove that's ideal for warming you up on chiller evenings. However, it's the outside space that will really wow you. On the terrace, you'll find a fabulous sunken hot tub where you can soak under the stars, glass of wine in hand. There's also an outdoor dining area, a formal garden, and even a fire pit where you can huddle round and tell ghost stories after dark. The local footpaths will lead you through the beautiful rolling countryside up to Bredon Hill, and you'll find the local pub is just two miles away. Plus, with countless picturesque Cotswold villages to explore, you're not likely to run out of things to do in this heavenly corner of England.

Guests should note there are low ceilings throughout, and the steep stairs mean this isn’t the best option for those with reduced mobility. However, you will find a sweet garden and patio. Plus, it’s a great base from which to explore the region. Follow hiking trails straight from the door, walk to the local pub or adventure further afield to the town of Broadway – just a fifteen-minute drive away.

Set in the village of Laverton, this home promises a relaxing rural retreat. Ideal for a family, there’s plenty of space here with a charming garden and room to spread out across three floors, with whoever bags the bedroom stretching across the entire top floor able to enjoy the sweeping vistas. Sure, you have to climb a fairly steep staircase to reach the room and you’ll need to watch your head on the sloping ceilings, but we think it’s worth it for the sunsets over Bredon Hill alone.

As the name the suggests, this beautifully converted home used to be a dairy, or to be more accurate, a former cheese press. Fully modernised with reclaimed timber floors and underfloor heating throughout, it's now a cosy and comfortable retreat. French doors lead from the sitting room to a flower-filled private garden where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sun go down. As an added bonus, you can pre-order delicious meals from your host during your stay. With plenty of walks and pubs close by, it’s the perfect base for exploring the unspoilt countryside – Bredon Hill and the Malvern Hills are especially lovely. A little further afield are the popular destinations of Stratford-upon-Avon and Cheltenham, both under an hour’s drive away.

This honey-coloured cottage is what dreams are made of. You'll find Box Cottage nestled in a secret courtyard just off the main street in Broadway, a village so picturesque it looks like a film set. Plenty of boutiques, cafés and restaurants are within a two-minute walk from the front door. The home itself is an elegant, light-filled space. Tradition meets contemporary living here, with comfy squashy sofas and exposed wood beams. The crowning jewel is the beautiful courtyard and its pergola draped with wisteria. Spend summer evenings cooking dinner on the charcoal barbeque, or enjoy fresh winter mornings with a hot cup of coffee – this home really is the ultimate seasonal escape.

Incredibly, this cottage on the corner dates all the back to the 17th century, exuding historic charm from every nook and cranny. While the home is less than 5 miles from the town of Evesham, and just over an hour from the metropolis of Birmingham, it’s a world away from modern life. A traditional timber-framed exterior welcomes you to the past as you approach the olive-green front door. Inside, you’ll find yet more original elements with impressive 21st-century updates. We love the inglenook where the fireplace would have sat – now you can sit here instead, as you sip Earl Grey in this cosy sofa alcove. Timber beams on the ceilings, exposed brickwork, and a narrow staircase create a fairytale cottage vibe, but fancy features like Bluetooth speakers in the bathroom mirror bring you back to the present day. Outside, you might fancy a barbecue on the patio with a chilled glass of champagne. Or if you’d rather have a picnic on the lawn, don’t forget to pick fresh apples from your tree.

You'll have everything you need to rustle up something tasty in the kitchen. When you're ready to venture out, you'll find Chipping Campden, Stratford-upon-Avon, Winchcombe, and other chocolate-box hamlets within a thirty-minute drive. 

Snowshill Style

You’ll have the Cotswolds on your doorstep at this country cottage in the historic village of Bretforton. Hikers, bikers and Shakespeare fans are well catered for here – you’re close to the Cotswold Way (a long-distance trail through the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and just a thirty-minute drive from the medieval market town of Stratford-upon-Avon. While the home itself isn’t the most luxurious in our collection, it still has plenty to offer. You can warm up around the wood burner on a chilly evening, soak up the sun in the conservatory-style sun room, and breathe in the fresh country air from the private courtyard garden. Plus the local pub is just a short stroll away.

Based in the village of Stanton, you've got the Cotswolds on your doorstep here, ideal for intrepid explorers. At home, you'll find historic features alongside modern touches – we were particularly fond of the original inglenook fireplace and the kitchen's skylight. After a hike, you'll want to relax in the freestanding bathtub before enjoying a barbecue out in the garden. Alternatively, head to the nearby pub or cook up a roast in the well-equipped kitchen.

It’s a splendid home for celebrations and special occasions, with more than enough room for fourteen guests. The house, which includes a high-ceilinged drawing room, French-style bedrooms, and even a yoga studio, sits within 13 acres of stunning gardens. The grounds also feature an outdoor heated pool, which little ones are sure to love. If you can tear yourselves away from the house, you’ll find Broadway and its shops and restaurants on your doorstep.

With plenty of walks on your doorstep, the beautiful countryside can be easily explored on foot. This is a typical cottage – spread over three floors, with low ceilings and beams, so may not be the best option for those who may struggle with stairs. Just a fifteen-minute drive from Moreton Marsh train station, which has good transport links to London and Oxford – so you can have the best of both worlds.

We love the outdoor space – just the spot for lazy alfresco meals or a bottle of wine in summer months. Location-wise, it’s around a twenty-minute drive to Broadway Tower, where a slice of true English heritage, far-reaching views and wonderful walks await.

Enjoy a cosy stay at this cottage in Mickleton. You're just a stone's throw from the Cotswolds Way, so set off on an afternoon amble, finishing at one of the two village pubs. Chipping Campden, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Warwick are also within driving distance and make great options for day trips. The house dates back to the 19th century but has been given a modern makeover. We love the contemporary kitchen, leading onto a small garden outside which is ideal for alfresco dinner and drinks. Still, there are plenty of traditional touches to admire here, especially the stone hearth (complete with a wood burner) and rustic wooden beams in the lounge.

Mickleton Musings

With its coastal-inspired colour scheme, sumptuous furnishings and suntrap patio, this cosy cottage in the quiet Cotswold village of Alderton is a real home from home. Begin mornings with a cooked breakfast in the bright dining room before throwing open the patio doors and bowling out into the garden for lawn games in the warm sunshine. Enjoy cream tea on the patio or if the sky turns grey, bring it inside and curl up on the L-shaped couch in the inviting living space – we loved warming our toes in front of the wood-burner when the temperature dropped.

Take advantage of balmy days with a stroll through the endless countryside that surrounds your home – there are two circular walks close by, including a 5.5-mile ramble from Alderton to Dumbleton and back. Or why not jump in the car and explore the Regency town of Cheltenham? It’s only a twenty-minute drive away. What better way to end another idyllic afternoon in the Cotswolds than with some pub grub and a glass of rosé at the Gardeners’ Arms, just a five-minute stroll from your doorstep.

The Cottage Green

Sitting atop Dover's Hill, this home boasts some of the finest views in the Cotswolds. It's a haven for amblers and outdoor enthusiasts. You're a stone's throw from the footpaths along the Cotswolds Way – perfect for walks with the dogs – while Chipping Campden and Moreton-in-Marsh are also nearby. Back home, the terrace is ideal for relaxing with a cup of tea (or something stronger) and admiring the idyllic scenery. Inside, an electric fireplace keeps things cosy during the cooler months, and there's even a vintage writer's desk for remote workers. Though there is a sofa bed here (which you can pay to use), we think it works best as a romantic retreat for two.

When you stay at this idyllic Grade-II listed home in the Cotswolds, you’ll be able to relax in the enclosed garden with its picturesque surroundings. There are views of the countryside and borders packed with flowers. Inside, there are two living rooms and a snug, all with open fires – this place is perfect for families or friends. We love the main bedroom’s en-suite, too, with its roll-top bath (one of several). This home is situated just over 2 miles from the village of Toddington with its pub and shop. Or visit nearby Broadway or Cheltenham, just over 10 miles away.

Set in Ford, an attractive hamlet along the banks of the River Windrush, this romantic cottage offers the highest levels of charm and comfort for your Cotswolds escape. It’s hidden away within the grounds of the host’s own home, but offers complete privacy. There’s a small but well-equipped galley kitchen with a Nespresso machine and milk frother for a little luxury morning coffee. But our favourite bit is the four-poster, king-size bed which guarantees a luxurious night’s sleep. just what you need after a day tackling some of the best hiking routes in the Cotswolds. The Cotswolds Way runs right by the cottage and walks around Sudeley Castle are just a few miles away.

You’ll find this renovated church in the village of Paxford, an ideal base from which to explore the Cotswolds. It may not be suitable for children due to the staircase design and historic fixtures throughout the home, but it offers a relaxing retreat for four guests. The mezzanine bedroom is impressive, if lacking a little in privacy, and offers a different perspective of the interiors of this historic building. And with hiking trails on its doorstep, you can be out soaking up the great outdoors in no time.

There's something to satisfy everyone's wanderlust at this charming period cottage nestled right in the beating heart of Chipping Campden. This is your gateway to the best of the Cotswolds – Market Hall, The Spa at Cotswold House and Chipping Campden's bustling high street are all within walking distance. And when it's time to explore further afield, jump in the car and you can be in the chocolate-box villages of Bourton-on-the Water and Stow-on-the-Wold in fifteen minutes flat. 

Back at this cosy home away from home, exposed Cotswold stone walls, higgledy-piggledy beams and a crackling wood-burning stove bring all the charm. While we liked the comfortable bedrooms and sparkling bathrooms, what really blew us away was the impressive kitchen and dining area. It's the true hub of the home, with plenty of room to cook and dine together. We can easily imagine mornings here, the French doors open wide as you sip coffee on the patio and tuck into a lazy breakfast around the dining table. We also loved the techy extras, like nest heating, electronic locks and Google Home Bluetooth speakers. With the occasional bleat from the neighbouring sheep your only distraction, it doesn't get much more charming than this.

A true recipient of the Plum Award, this home has also received the Green Tourism Silver Award, in recognition of this host's dedication to green initiatives such as energy and water efficiency and mindful waste reduction. Your host can share recommendations on local farmers markets and shops selling locally-sourced food, as well as eco-friendly activities such as cycling routes and nature trails to help you enjoy your stay in Chipping Campden, all the while reducing your carbon footprint. It's a win-win.

It's impossible not to fall in love with this stunning barn, situated on privately owned farmland on the edge of Alcester. The main living space, with its impressive vaulted ceiling, is stylishly decorated in a neutral palette with the occasional pop of hot pink. The open-plan layout lends itself to socialising, so everyone can gather and catch up over some fizz and nibbles. Or, if the weather is nice, head outside onto the terrace to grill up a feast on the barbecue and dine alfresco as you watch the sunset together. The hot tub is perfect for a soak after dark, and you might even spot some distant stars and planets on a clear night.
