Set on the second floor overlooking St Giles' Cathedral, this bright and comfortable flat places you right in the heart of Edinburgh. Step outside and you’re moments from everything from the historic Royal Mile to buzzing bars, shops and eateries. Inside, there’s space to unwind after exploring, with a sociable living room, well-equipped kitchen and comfy beds for a restful night’s sleep. While the interiors aren’t the most visually striking, they’re clean, cosy and have everything you need. It's worth noting there's no lift in the building, so there are some stairs to climb to get to the front door. But once you're in, it’s a fantastic base for exploring one of Scotland’s most iconic cities.

Whether you’re sightseeing, shopping, or stopping off during a tour of Scotland, it makes a great base for exploring this gem of a city.

Experience a stay like no other at this cosy Gothic castle, part of an unfinished design for Edinburgh’s first observatory. At the top of Calton Hill, you'll have some truly breathtaking views from this historical home. The National Gallery is next door and the rest of the city is a short walk away, easily making up for the lack of parking. It should be noted that the home's standout location does attract a number of tourists, so if you're looking for some peace and privacy it might not be for you. That said, the main bedroom enjoys an en-suite with a luxurious standalone bathtub, and there's outdoor seating to make the most of this stunning location.

It's a peaceful spot that's still within walking distance of the city centre – we think you'll fall in love with Edinburgh's rugged charm in no time at all. 

From the flagstone floors in the kitchen to the original stove in the bedroom, this home is bursting with traditional details to admire. However, there are also plenty of modern comforts – you'll love cooking up your favourite dishes in the well-equipped kitchen using fresh local ingredients. And, when it's time to relax, you can take a soak in the bath before slipping into the crisp white sheets. 

You'll also have access to private river gardens nearby at the end of the mews lane, where you can relax on sunny days or wander down the river into bustling Stockbridge. Beautiful Dean Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an unspoilt pocket of the city with ancient buildings and cobbled streets, just a ten-minute walk away. And, a twenty-five-minute walk will bring you through the New Town to the iconic castle and the Royal Mile.

You’ll be just a short stroll from the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, and the buzzing shops and cafes of Princes Street. Inside, period features like exposed brickwork and tall sash windows hint at the building’s heritage, while a bright living room and comfy bedrooms offer modern comfort. The well-equipped kitchen makes evenings in easy, whether you’re cooking or bringing back local treats. It’s a great base for couples or families keen to explore the city. There’s one flight of stairs to reach the flat, but it’s absolutely worth it for the incredible location and charm right on your doorstep.

From the welcome pack full of helpful local information to the cereal and snacks provided, and even the child-friendly amenities available for families travelling with little ones, this home ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to hospitality. This home has board games and streaming services to keep everyone entertained. Venture outside, however, and you’ll find plenty more to keep you occupied with the waterside Shore area just minutes from your door, and the city’s most iconic sights like Calton Hill and Edinburgh Castle easily reachable by public transport or car. 


House of Grey

The Royal Mile stretches from the hilly city centre, right down to the even larger hills of the Crags and Arthur’s Seat (Edinburgh’s very own extinct volcano). And just six minutes from the edge of this ancient parkland, this modern home is a rather delightful contrast. The interiors are very industrial, but you’ll still find little touches of luxury. We love the lighting fixtures in the lounge and bedrooms, a web of black cords and hanging bulbs which cast a soft glow. Matching this are black metal frames on the door, shower, and bed, as well as dining chairs in the living space. Overall, this flat has a warehouse vibe which feels minimalist yet cosy, ideal for coming home to after witnessing a city steeped in history. Wander uphill after your morning coffee and stop in for some brunch on the High Street, just seven minutes away. Keep on heading to the top of this iconic mile to reach Edinburgh Castle. At just a thirteen-minute walk from home, your descent should include a stop at a traditional pub for a dram of whisky or a pint.

Ancient Ascent

Take in the wonderful views over the Royal Mile towards Arthur's Seat from inside this charming apartment, housed in a traditional Old Town building. We love the character features here, such as the sash windows and exposed stone walls. This home is perfect for a couple or a solo traveller wanting to easily explore Edinburgh on foot.

The location is fabulous – situated near the top of the Royal Mile, it's just over a five-minute walk to Edinburgh Castle. It's the same walking distance to The Scotch Whisky Experience, where you can discover the history of Scotland's national drink. Just over a fifteen-minute stroll, on the other hand, will take you to the Scottish Parliament building and the majestic Palace of Holyroodhouse. There's so much on your doorstep you'll need to book another stay to fit it all in.

You’ll be a short stroll to Princes Street and George Street and a twenty-minute walk from Edinburgh Castle. This home is also conveniently located for the West End Tram stop station and Haymarket station. Inside this house, set over three floors, you'll find a large sunny drawing room to relax in. There’s also an office with a desk and printer for when you need to work while away in this wonderful city.

In an elegant Georgian building fronted by huge columns and gothic railings, this top-floor flat is at the height of style, and of the city. Despite its historic exterior, the decor is modern and understated. And your first stop upon entering has to be the panoramic views of rooftops and the glistening Firth of Forth from the lounge windows. Trust us, this stony scene looks even more dramatic on a famous Scottish rainy day. If you’re staying in, enjoy your own drizzle in the rainfall shower before cosying up on the plush sofa with a tea. For a local wander, visit the Dean Village, just twelve minutes away on foot. This picturesque neighbourhood, founded in the 12th century, is one of the most tranquil and beautiful spots in town. From here, head down to Stockbridge for pubs, cafés, and vintage shopping thirteen minutes from home.
