You couldn’t be better placed to visit some of the city’s best sights, including Edinburgh Castle (a twelve-minute walk away), Princes Street (six minutes away) and Calton Hill for sunset vistas (a fourteen-minute stroll from your door).

The city's most famous landmark, Edinburgh Castle, is under twenty minutes on foot if you want to take some snaps of this icon. Back at this industrial-inspired home, there's everything you need to feel comfortable during your stay. We love the spider chandelier, modern prints and monochrome wallpaper here. Plan your days from the comfy sofa or enjoy a takeaway at the dining table if you don't fancy eating out. This home is perfect for a group of friends or a family looking to be within walking distance of many of Edinburgh's wonderful sights.

Royal Walk

With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Gothic grandeur of St Giles’ Cathedral, this apartment is instantly impressive. We love the scenery, and we also love the location – walking distance from many of the most popular sights, and right in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. When you’re not sightseeing, souvenir shopping, or sampling local culture in a traditional pub, this one-bedroom apartment is a cosy and comfortable place to recharge your batteries. It has everything you need to feel right at home, plus that extra-special view, which might just be one of the best in the city.

 Thistle & Tartan

This home offers a contemporary sanctuary on the iconic Royal Mile. Inside, the layout has been thoughtfully curated for families and groups in search of a fresh city base. There’s plenty of space to socialise, unwind or catch up on work. Your host can help organise extras like cleaning and airport transfers. And while there is no private parking available, you will find everything you could need within walking distance. Outside, it’s just a short stroll to Edinburgh Castle, Calton Hill and Holyrood Park. 


Forever Fresh 

Nestled in the vibrant neighbourhood of Canonmills, this home is perfectly placed for a Scottish adventure. You can walk to the Royal Botanic Gardens and the National Galleries of Scotland. There are some great local coffee shops and restaurants, while Edinburgh Old Town is also within easy reach. Back at home, you’ll find all the basic essentials and simple comforts you could need to relax and unwind. Remote workers will appreciate the desk space and the living room is perfect for cosy evenings at home. 

A Scottish Song

In Edinburgh, history oozes out of every corner – and this Victorian home has a unique heritage of its own. A former 1800s Victorian ironmonger, this shop used to service the trading ships sailing back and forth from Leith Port to Iceland. Now, it's a cosy and contemporary hideaway in one of the most buzzing parts of the city.

Swapping Victorian allure for sleek mid-century style, the open-plan living space is a relaxed place to chill out and decompress after exploring the hustle and bustle of Old Town. Host Lynda has an incredible eye for design, and there are plenty of spots to snuggle up and get comfortable. Rustle up a meal in the kitchen, followed by a Netflix movie night on the plush blue sofa. When it's time for some shut-eye, drift off to sleep in one of the comfortable and chic bedrooms – both feature the large, original shop windows that flood the space with sunlight.

Although Leith is just outside the much-frequented neighbourhoods in the city centre, don't let that fool you – you'll find great bars and some of Edinburgh's best restaurants right on your doorstep. Here, old shipping warehouses now play host to photo studios, art galleries and delectable eateries, while the waterfront road along the port – aptly called The Shore – is dotted with cafes, pubs and shops. And with buses running directly into the centre taking about fifteen minutes, you'll have easy access to the tourist hotspots, too. 

The Ironmonger's Store

Set on the second floor overlooking St Giles' Cathedral, this bright and comfortable flat places you right in the heart of Edinburgh. Step outside and you’re moments from everything from the historic Royal Mile to buzzing bars, shops and eateries. Inside, there’s space to unwind after exploring, with a sociable living room, well-equipped kitchen and comfy beds for a restful night’s sleep. While the interiors aren’t the most visually striking, they’re clean, cosy and have everything you need. It's worth noting there's no lift in the building, so there are some stairs to climb to get to the front door. But once you're in, it’s a fantastic base for exploring one of Scotland’s most iconic cities.

Cathedral Charm

Housed in a former brewery from the 1800s, this cool home nods to its past while dazzling with modern comforts and contemporary style. A monochrome palette gives it a sleek look, with wood and leather accents giving it a characterful industrial edge. We love the Crittall doors in the living room that lead to a beautifully dressed bed, behind which a sketch-style mural hints at the home’s heritage. When you’re not kicking back on the sofa with a cold beer, catching up on work at the desk or enjoying luxurious soaks under the rainfall shower, go out and explore your surroundings. Your Old Town neighbourhood is full of narrow alleys where museums, shops and restaurants all vie for your attention, while Calton Hill (a ten-minute walk away) offers impressive views over the entire city. With the Royal Mile a seven-minute stroll away and Edinburgh Castle reachable in thirteen minutes on foot, you couldn’t be better placed to experience the best that the city has to offer.


Cask & Keg

Experience a stay like no other at this cosy Gothic castle, part of an unfinished design for Edinburgh’s first observatory. At the top of Calton Hill, you'll have some truly breathtaking views from this historical home. The National Gallery is next door and the rest of the city is a short walk away, easily making up for the lack of parking. It should be noted that the home's standout location does attract a number of tourists, so if you're looking for some peace and privacy it might not be for you. That said, the main bedroom enjoys an en-suite with a luxurious standalone bathtub, and there's outdoor seating to make the most of this stunning location.

The Stargazer's Retreat

Sweeping coastal vistas steal the show at this Victorian waterfront apartment set in a quiet residential quarter fringing Edinburgh. While the décor is a tad dated, and the second bedroom is only really suitable for children, those sea views at sunset more than make up for that. When you're ready to stretch your legs, the beautifully landscaped Royal Botanic Garden and Edinburgh Old Town are a short drive away (also walkable if time is on your side). Or keep things local at Newhaven's little harbour with its picturesque lighthouse for sunset strolls and a fish supper.

Caller Herrin

Tucked away down a quiet mews street in Stockbridge, this architecturally unique converted coach house is the perfect place to begin your getaway in the Scottish capital.  It's a peaceful spot that's still within walking distance of the city centre – we think you'll fall in love with Edinburgh's rugged charm in no time at all. 

From the flagstone floors in the kitchen to the original stove in the bedroom, this home is bursting with traditional details to admire. However, there are also plenty of modern comforts – you'll love cooking up your favourite dishes in the well-equipped kitchen using fresh local ingredients. And, when it's time to relax, you can take a soak in the bath before slipping into the crisp white sheets. 

You'll also have access to private river gardens nearby at the end of the mews lane, where you can relax on sunny days or wander down the river into bustling Stockbridge. Beautiful Dean Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an unspoilt pocket of the city with ancient buildings and cobbled streets, just a ten-minute walk away. And, a twenty-five-minute walk will bring you through the New Town to the iconic castle and the Royal Mile.
