Principality Stadium is just a twelve-minute car ride away, and you can be at Motorpoint Arena in eight minutes – if you’re in town for an event, the location of this home couldn’t be better. 

The house is comfortable and convenient with a local shop under a minute from the front door, and creature comforts galore. The in-ceiling audio is a particular favourite – you can listen to your music throughout the home. 

Visit one of the many nearby cafes or bakeries for breakfast, before heading into the city centre for a spot of shopping. Cardiff Bay is only ten minutes away and is jam-packed with restaurants, bars and shops, as well as offering activities like boat trips that explore Cardiff’s coastline. 
Beautiful Cardiff Castle is also within easy reach of this lovely property and is a wonderful place to spend a few hours. Pack a picnic to enjoy in the grounds and make a day of it.

Fresh, modern and minimal, we love the nods to the building's heritage in the original fireplace and vintage-style tiles in the bathroom. Though on the smaller side, the all-in-one living/dining/kitchen area still feels bright and roomy. Two extra guests can sleep on the contemporary sofa bed, but we'd say this home is a better base for two. Begin your mornings with breakfast in the bay window before immersing yourself in history at Cardiff Castle, exploring the shops and cafes along the Victorian arcades or taking lunch waterside at Cardiff Bay. For dinner, we recommend grabbing a bite at one of the excellent restaurants, pubs and bars close by, then finish off the evening with a glass of wine in the lounge.

While this apartment only takes up part of the ground floor of a Victorian house, it still benefits from some of the architectural quirks from the period. The big bay window, for instance, is particularly generous when it comes to natural light, while the high ceilings and large rooms lend a sense of airiness.

The interior design completed in more recent years is bursting with characterful touches, like the bold pattern wallpaper, hanging bare lightbulbs and the flourishing house plant in the main living space. Along with these aesthetic considerations, the basics are nailed, too — one look at the dark, sleek kitchen and bathroom will show you what we mean.

The surrounding neighbourhood of Plasnewydd has a residential feel but many of Cardiff's main attractions, like the castle and Bute Park, can be reached in around half an hour's walk.

The interior escapes the gloomy fate of many a ground floor flat thanks to the skylight above the kitchen, which fills the space with natural light. There's a reassuring quality to the furnishings and fittings, especially the minimalist kitchen and the dark bathroom.

Located on the outskirts of Roath, the local area has a laid-back feel popular with families and young professionals. That being said, the bright lights of the Welsh capital aren't too far away — the restaurants and venues of Cardiff Bay take little over ten minutes to reach in the car.

Located in the friendly Pontcanna neighbourhood about twenty minutes' walk from Cardiff city centre, this attic flat is a daydream of cosy corners and secret spaces. Set over two floors in a large Victorian house, the home features lots of the owners' finds from across the globe, from crochet rugs picked up in Brazil through to wooden African masks. Pick up books from the shelves and leaf through next to the large sash windows, or simply curl up on the leather sofa for a Netflix movie night. Our favourite space is the attic, reached by a winding staircase with a cosy bed tucked under the rafters and draped in netting — sweet dreams are pretty much guaranteed. The expansive Portcanna Fields are just across the road, while the Principality Stadium is a quarter of an hour's walk if you want to catch a game of rugby.

Just a fifteen-minute walk from Penarth's seafront, beach and pretty pier, this stylish modern home is part of a period building with a surprising past. Catching our eye with its colourful living area and terrace, we think this flat in hip Pontcanna is perfect for two style-conscious couples. If alfresco dining is out of bounds due to drizzle, the breakfast bar can squeeze everyone around it for indoor meals. While the bedrooms are a little snug – the second requires one guest to climb over the bed to reach their side – they are cosy spots to rest after a day exploring Bute Park and Cardiff city centre (twenty-five minutes on foot or ten by bus). Closer to home, you'll find quaint eateries and cosy pubs just a short stroll away.

We think this family home is a real beaut. The cosy lounge is the perfect place to unwind with a movie night – and with access to Netflix and Prime, you'll have plenty of choices – while upstairs, a sumptuous clawfoot tub beckons after a long day on your feet. Take an invigorating stroll across the Ridgeway, admiring the views toward Cardiff – it's about ten minutes on foot – then pop by the local cafe on top of the hill for a coffee and a cake after your walk. For something a bit more hearty, grab a delicious meal at the restaurant down the street – or for a bit more buzz, hop on the train and be in Cardiff in twenty minutes flat.

Though the space is on the more minimal side, we love the amount of natural light that floods in, while the balcony is a great spot to share a glass of wine at the end of the day. The location is the real perk of this home – right in the city centre, you can walk to The Museum of Cardiff, Cardiff Market, Cardiff International Arena and Cardiff Castle.

Best of all, it’s not too far from the action – vibrant Wellfield Road is a 5-minute walk, Cardiff city centre is ten minutes away by cab, and Principality Stadium is just over 3 miles away.

Standing tall in a Georgian neighbourhood, this Newport home is just as handsome on the inside as it is on the outside. There's a great range of colours used throughout, with several shades on the walls and furnishings lending character. The kitchen is large and well-equipped enough for a handful of sous-chefs to work under the watchful eye of the head cook, while there's even a garden that uses tiers to work with the sloping land available. We think they've done a smashing job with it and you'll appreciate it during the summer months. At the top of the street, there's a park with a lovely view of the city, the centre of which only takes fifteen minutes to reach on foot. A little further afield, there are attractions towards the mouth of the River Usk, including RSPB Newport Wetlands, a quarter of an hour's drive away.

Offering marvellous views of the Bristol Channel, this well furnished apartment is particularly appealing for couples and families looking to explore the West of England. While its duplex layout and first floor entrance mean it's not universally accessible, the home fits plenty of attractive furnishings and amenities across its levels, with an efficient living room, kitchen and dining area leading upwards to two cosy bedrooms (one with its own en-suite).
