Tucked away in the pretty village of Ludchurch and surrounded by glorious Pembrokeshire countryside, this home is a haven of tranquillity. As a former barn, this home retains much of its rustic charm with exposed beams and high vaulted ceilings, but don’t worry, there are no creaky areas or draughty spaces here. The rooms have all the modern comforts you could ask for – a cosy log burner, soft furnishings, WiFi and underfloor heating throughout. The open-plan living area is wonderfully spacious, uncluttered and awash with natural light. If the weather is good you’ll want to push open the patio doors and breathe in the countryside views. The garden has a serene summerhouse, but the best place to absorb the peaceful surroundings is from the heated hot tub. Drift away in the warm bubbles while contemplating the scenery of the rolling countryside. It’s a scenic 40-minute walk into the village of Wiseman’s Bridge, or fetch your towel, bathing suit and other paraphernalia to make the ten-minute drive down to the glorious Pembrokeshire coastline and its award-winning beaches. 

Sweet Valley Barn

This sleek, light-filled hideaway puts golden sands, harbourfront cafes and scenic coastal trails right on your doorstep. Reserved exclusively for family groups, it’s a top-notch spot for blending adventure with laid-back seaside living. Inside, two generous living rooms give everyone space to spread out, while a dedicated children’s bedroom with three single beds makes it especially well-suited to multi-generational stays. Spend your days beachcombing, paddleboarding and kayaking, with the shore just a ten-minute walk away. As evening draws in, sink into the hot tub, fire up the barbecue, or wander into the village for harbourfront dining and sunset views.

Harbour Retreat Restful

Wild and wonderful, this honey-coloured homestead on the edge of St Dogmaels is as charming as it looks. Inside, you'll find rustic living spaces that exude warmth – it'll be hard to resist a Netflix movie night curled up in front of the roaring log burner – and we appreciate how interior bi-fold doors give you full control over the size of the living space. Home chefs can let loose in the kitchen, rustling up freshly-baked cakes and mouthwatering Sunday roasts to share around the eight-seater table. Upstairs, a soak in the lavish free-standing bathtub before bedtime is just the ticket after a long day.

Speaking of, we can't help but swoon over the verdant, lush landscape that awaits you outside. Listen to the babbling stream as you share a pitcher of Pimm's or gather around the fire pit on hazy summer evenings. It's not just grown-ups who will adore this home. Kids can while away afternoons in the loft playroom, play pretend in the treehouse, follow the fairy trail and bounce on the trampoline. With garden games and rope swings, it's perfect for little ones and the young at heart.

The village is just a short walk away, home to an award-winning farmer's market, historic abbey and the River Teifi. Just across the bridge – about a twenty-minute walk – are pubs, eateries and shops in Cardigan, while Poppit Sands, a picturesque dog-friendly beach, is forty-five minutes on foot, seven by car.

Where Fairies Dance

If you're seeking a tranquil and indulgent stay by the sea, look no further than this splendid home on the Pembrokeshire Coast. Perched above the dunes overlooking Newport Bay, this home boasts a secluded location with breathtaking views to boot. Here, you're a seven-minute stroll from the dog-friendly beach of Newport Sands, while the eighteen-hole Newport Links Golf Course is practically on your doorstep – three minutes away on foot, to be exact.

With its generous living spaces and chic design aesthetic, this home beckons you to relax in the splendour of your surroundings. We love the majestic wood-burning stove, roosted in the glass-walled sitting room. Upstairs, four spacious bedrooms are dressed to the nines with Egyptian cotton linen and locally sourced Melin Tregwyn wool, while offering scenic snapshots of the coast. After a restful night's slumber, we can't think of a better way to start the day than with a generous helping of crisp, seaside air. Spend mornings roosted on the balcony, cradling a cup of coffee and admiring panoramic views of the bay, before slipping out for a bracing walk on the beach.

After a busy day exploring the coast, gather around the large dining table for a delicious feast, prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen or, if you wish, by a private chef. In the summertime, enjoy barbecued cookouts on the outdoor dining deck and huddle around the fire pit to roast marshmallows at sunset. 

Ocean Wanderer

Just outside the picturesque village of Llanfrynach, on the grounds of a grade II*-listed Georgian mansion, this one-bedroom cottage is all about rest and relaxation. This former coach house has been converted into a stunning contemporary space. Downstairs, the sitting room boasts sky-high ceilings and ten-foot-tall French doors leading out onto a private patio. The wood burner and deerskin rugs on the floor add a cosy feeling that's perfect for the colder months, while during the summer, you can throw open those doors and let the outside in. The cottage actually has two patio areas – one facing east and the other west – so you can always catch the sun no matter the time of day. Upstairs, the bedroom welcomes you with exposed oak beams and a natural stone wall that perfectly complements the black wrought iron bed frame. Step across the hall to discover a beautiful bathroom with a double-ended tub and a walk-in shower. If you can tear yourself away, there are plenty of leisurely walks and challenging hikes directly from your front door. There are options for all levels, from high peaks to gentle canalside strolls and everything in between. Despite the secluded location, plenty of pubs and restaurants, as well as a supermarket, within a ten-minute drive. After a hard day of hiking in the hills, why not treat yourself to a relaxing massage in the on-site treatment room.

The Gatekeeper

You can almost hear the mellow jazz playing as you walk around this sumptuous, modern home. Looking like it came straight out of the pages of Architectural Digest, this Newport pad dazzles with designer furnishings and luxurious details. Downstairs, the blue palette creates a warm welcome, with two living rooms inviting you to chill out, read and snuggle by the fire. Gather at the large kitchen  island for chats over a glass of wine while someone else prepares dinner. Or, on balmy evenings, open the bi-folding doors to the rear terrace where a barbecue tempts alfresco feasts. And then there are the swoon-worthy bedrooms upstairs. Whether you’re staying in the blush-coloured boudoir, the green jungle room, or the two trendy twin rooms, you’ll feel like you’re laying in the lap of luxury when you settle in for the night. With the sea and Carningli Mountain both just a ten-minute walk away, this spectacular home is the ideal base for exploring the Pembrokeshire coast in style. 


Major House

On the border between England and Wales, this little eco hut sits in the splendidly named hamlet of Burlingjobb. There’s nothing but the cheep and pip of birdsong and the occasional bleat of a lamb here. The curve of the cabin’s roof reflects Hanter Hill opposite, and each cabinet and window frame has been crafted from local cedar and douglas fir. The living room and kitchen has everything you need to unwind in an evening, including a hand-made kitchen and sofa tucked under the gorgeous floating staircase. Heating comes courtesy of infra-red panels, a nod to the environment and, as the cabin is kept cosy, you can select a book from the little library and take things back to analogue. Glass doors lead out to a deck with a fire pit and barbecue. The real highlight is the master bedroom, dappled with botanica and with a picture-frame window looking out over the garden. It’s here you’ll find the longest claw-footed tub we think we’ve ever seen – perfect for a soak after a day hiking up to Hanter Hill or the tumbling cascade of Water Break-Its-Neck waterfall.

Hergest Lee

This riverside retreat overlooks the Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve. Outside, you can enjoy stunning views while relaxing in the garden. There’s a hot tub and a wood-fired sauna as well as a cold plunge tub – setting the tone for a rejuvenating stay. You can also enjoy cosy gatherings around the indoor log-burner and there are books and games to keep everyone entertained. And when it comes to activities, you can take a canoe or kayak out on the water. There are some beautiful hiking trails close by and it’s just a short drive into the centre of Cardigan.

River of Love

Found just outside the town of Narbeth in beautiful Pembrokeshire, this home is generous both when it comes to size and the number of distractions that guests will have at their disposal.

Many of these amenities lie out on the grounds, which include everything from a full-size rugby pitch with posts and a zipline to a lake and orchard perfect for peaceful strolls. Add an eight-person hot tub into the mix and you've got a property in which boredom is unlikely to rear its head.

There's plenty to like inside as well. As well as three separate living areas — including one on the first floor with pretty views of rolling countryside — we're also particularly fond of the huge kitchen fitted with sleek surfaces and smart wooden finishes.

When you want to see a little more of the local area, it's hard to know where to start. If the sun makes an appearance, why not head for Coppet Hall Beach only fifteen minutes' drive away or one of the huge number of coves and sandy spots that lie along the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path? Alternatively, the charming town of Tenby lies twenty minutes away in the car.


The First Day of Spring

Set just moments from the sands at Wiseman’s Bridge, this sleek bolthole is made for salt-air mornings and sea-soaked days. Wake to rolling views across the bay, slip out for an early swim, then wander the coastal path straight from your door – with a friendly pub nearby for post-beach lunches and golden-hour drinks. Inside, the open-plan living space is calm and uncluttered, keeping the focus firmly on the view, while the generous balcony space ensures you can step out and enjoy the sunshine from dusk 'til dawn. With Saundersfoot and Tenby close at hand, you're ideally placed for exploring Pembrokeshire’s beaches, castles and hidden coves.

Serene Seaside Views

With the flexibility to sleep up to 24 people, this magical country house is all set up for special events, gatherings of friends and family, activity holidays and more. With views across the Wye Valley, it's set on five acres of pristine land and has nine bedrooms for you to choose between – either in the beautifully restored and extended 17th-Century farmhouse or the stunning new guest annexe. 

Lovers of interior design will have a field day here. It's been impeccably put together by its owner Kari, a professional designer, with nods to traditional country chic, contemporary cool and even Antipodean modern rustic – Kari grew up in Australia. The main house having been extended, the old stable unit was transformed into an architect-designed annexe with a series of split-level suites that wouldn't look out of place in a boutique hotel in Shoreditch.

The huge, 40ft kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need to cook for your group, with an incredible four ovens, five hobs and two dishwashers, or you can take the hard work out of it by hiring a private chef. You'll have four main living spaces with enough room to get together as a large group or enjoy a bit of privacy, and there are all sorts of outdoor seating spots – including a fire pit area, dining terrace and an Aussie-style shack enjoying views across the valley.

Built for entertaining, you'll have a games barn where you can play table tennis, work out on the gym equipment and grab some garden games, as well as a room perfect for group activities. There's even a wood-fired hot tub, a children's natural play area and private fields for you to explore.

Just a few miles from the book town of Hay-on-Wye, it's easy to explore the Welsh border from here, and hiking, cycling and canoeing are all popular local attractions. And if you fancy an action-packed break, your host can put together a unique itinerary for your group. You're bound to make memories that last a lifetime.    

The Memory Jar

This barn conversion is located near the market town of Narbeth. With high beamed ceilings, stone walls, and traditional arched windows, it’s packed full of character. The open-plan living area is readymade for sociable meals and relaxing evenings. And the main bedroom boasts views of the countryside. The coast isn’t too far away either, with sandy Telpyn Beach a ten-minute drive. And if you want to explore the area’s tourist towns, picturesque Saudersfoot and popular Tenby are both less than half an hour away.
