With a stunning garden and vibrant interior, this cosy home is a great choice for those looking for a fun, relaxing getaway in Wales. Located just half a mile from the historic market town of Tregaron, you're well situated to explore the quaint villages, cliffs, beaches, and more of Cardigan Bay.

Large windows invite a lovely natural light to brighten this home beautifully. It's a cheerful place where future happy memories will come easily, whether you're chatting around the dining table with a glass of wine or watching a film with the fireplace warming you up. We love the interior's vibrancy, but our favourite bit of this home is the impressive garden. The cute space has a Mediterranean feel, with a bistro table and salmon-pink walls. The village of Tresaith on the Ceredigion coastline is relatively humble, but you can find some truly spectacular homes here – this three-storey gem is among them.

It's definitely an address that has been constructed with the surrounding scenery in mind, with sea views to be admired from the balconies and out through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Even to the rear of the house that isn't so blessed with coastal vistas, there's a peaceful terrace surrounded by flower beds and it's more than possible to enjoy alfresco feasts in this space, thanks to the dining table, pizza oven and barbecue.

Should the weather ever be a little uninspiring, there's plenty to keep guests entertained inside. In the games room alone, you'll find tables for pool and table tennis, as well as a darts board and piano. Once you've exhausted these, the cinema room complete with leather seats and surround sound is the ideal place to watch a movie or some live sports. It's just as easy to escape to the Jacuzzi bathtub and treat yourself to an unrushed soak.

You'll eventually want to head to the seaside at some point and Tresaith Beach is less than ten minutes' away on foot. It's easy to arrange watersport activities here and – if you're lucky – spot dolphins. There's also a waterfall at the far end of the sand, as well.

Wild and wonderful, this honey-coloured homestead on the edge of St Dogmaels is as charming as it looks. Inside, you'll find rustic living spaces that exude warmth – it'll be hard to resist a Netflix movie night curled up in front of the roaring log burner – and we appreciate how interior bi-fold doors give you full control over the size of the living space. Home chefs can let loose in the kitchen, rustling up freshly-baked cakes and mouthwatering Sunday roasts to share around the eight-seater table. Upstairs, a soak in the lavish free-standing bathtub before bedtime is just the ticket after a long day.

Speaking of, we can't help but swoon over the verdant, lush landscape that awaits you outside. Listen to the babbling stream as you share a pitcher of Pimm's or gather around the fire pit on hazy summer evenings. It's not just grown-ups who will adore this home. There were plenty of reasons why this penthouse apartment made it into our collection, but let's start with the most obvious. When guests step out onto the ornate white balcony, they're greeted with stunning views over the Dyfi Estuary and Cardigan Bay, stretching all the way down the Ceredigion Coastline. As is often the case with coastal locations, there's just so much sky and this uninterrupted panorama brings the added benefit of meaning the interior is flooded with natural light through the windows and skylights. This is emphasised pleasingly by the stark white walls and it makes for a wonderfully bright space to sprawl out on the tan leather sofa. As you can probably tell from looking out the window, Aberdyfi Beach sits just across the street and there are cafes and pubs along the seafront for when you fancy a refreshment. Slightly further afield, there are opportunities for birdwatching in RSPB Ynys-hir and Dyfi Osprey Project, both taking around half an hour to reach in the car.

This quaint cottage is as beautiful inside as it is on the outside, a mix of stucco walls and traditional stone brick. We love the cosy living room, with wood-beamed ceilings, a stone brick wall, and a crackling wood-burning fireplace. It's warm and inviting – the ideal place for relaxing and watching the TV after a day on your feet. It might be a traditional cottage, but the kitchen is sleek, contemporary, and big enough for everyone to pitch in to help prepare meals. While there's something comforting and familial about preparing meals together and then eating around the kitchen table, we imagine you'll also love the outdoor dining table. 

The garden is surrounded by luscious, beautiful greenery, where you can spend lazy mornings tucking into a continental breakfast out in the fresh air, enjoying the comforting sounds of the chirping birds and the babbles of the stream. When you're energised after a hearty breakfast, the historic market town of Machynlleth is just a twelve-minute drive away. There are endless walking trails around here, or simply explore the town's art galleries, quaint shops, cafes, pubs, museums, and more. And if you want to take a walk along the coast, you're within easy reach of North Wales' blustering beaches.

Tucked deeply in Ceredigion’s Rheidol Valley, this cottage for four is utterly peaceful and well-located for exploring this corner of mid-Wales. A haven for wildlife lovers, rare red kites and buzzards inhabit the area (don’t forget to bring your binoculars). Footpaths lead directly from the garden into paddocks, woodland, valley and hills so you can ramble to your heart’s content. Local trails focus on nearby Devil’s Bridge – a village with an unusual three-tiered bridge that crosses a deep gorge in the vicinity of gushing waterfalls – and there are more trails at the 200-hectare Hafod Estate in neighbouring Ystwyth Valley. At home, the cottage is comfortable excellence across two floors, where wooden beams meet old-world furnishings. Discover the cottage’s hot tub, sauna and games room or warm your toes beside the flickering fireplace in the lounge. The undercover barbecue and outdoor dining area mean you can enjoy dining al fresco whatever the weather – and while that's cooking up, the kids can play freely in the fields watching the sheep pass them by.

With its peaceful setting in stunning countryside, we could feel our cares melting away as soon as we set foot through the door. Relax in the enclosed garden with its private hot tub – the perfect spot for a glass of bubbly. Or dine under the gazebo, whatever the weather. Inside, there’s a plush blue velvet sofa to rest on after a long country walk. Or whip up some Welsh rarebit in the sleek kitchen with its granite work surfaces.

Out and about, the beautiful sands and dunes of Ynyslas are 4 miles away, if you fancy a walk on the beach, a picnic or a spot of windsurfing, while a little further is Borth with its pubs and shops. The Victorian university town of Aberystwyth, on the other hand, is a ten-minute drive from this lovely home. Have an amble along the promenade, or take a ride on the Cliff Railway and savour the vistas over Cardigan Bay.

This walk-up seafront apartment housed in a Victorian townhouse in Aberystwyth makes for a delightful coastal escape. It boasts direct access to the mile-long promenade and is surrounded by local pubs, independent boutiques and fish and chip shops just a few minutes away. When you're ready to explore, make a beeline for Aberystwyth's historic castle or ascend Britain's longest funicular electric cliff railway to Constitution Hill. Alternatively, spend your days on the sands of North Beach, right outside your door.

While the local area can be explored on foot, we'd recommend a car for ease – the nearby towns of New Quay, Aberyswyth, and Cardigan are a short drive away and make for a memorable day trip.

With three bedrooms, it sleeps up to six guests in comfort. The nearest beach is just around the corner, and Aberystwyth's restaurants, cafes and shops are within a short walk. The house features a fully equipped kitchen with stunning sea views, smart TV with Netflix access, Wi-Fi, DVDs/CDs, games, books and maps. Outside there is a fully enclosed south-facing garden with uninterrupted coastal views and an additional large garden mostly laid to grass with natural wildlife area. Parking is available for one large or two medium-sized cars. The property includes heating and electricity, bed linen, towels and a hairdryer. A welcome pack with coffee and tea, milk and sugar, butter, Welsh cakes and wine is also provided. This idyllic retreat is all on one floor making it ideal for those less mobile. No pets are allowed and smoking is prohibited.

The Ceredigion Cottage

A lot of things have changed since this cottage was built in the nineteenth century, but we're willing to bet that the surrounding view of the Upper Towy Valley and Cambrian Mountains is just as mesmerising as it was all those years ago.

Inside, a couple of period features also remain, like the mighty stone fireplace that acts as a natural focal point in the living space. However, there have been enough contemporary additions to ensure that the address well and truly belongs in the twenty-first century. You only have to look at the modern kitchen, the bedrooms painted in a soothing white and the subway-tiled shower to see what we mean.

Out through the front door, there's a small patio with seating so you can admire the gorgeous scenery and watch the neighbouring sheep – which sometimes come to graze right up to the home's windows. Come nighttime, stargazing is made all the more beautiful by the fact that the property sits in a designated Dark Sky area, free of light pollution. 

This part of South Wales is an excellent location for walkers and cyclists, as the Brecon Beacons National Park can be reached in around twenty minutes' drive, going through the town of Llandovery in the process.
