With a stunning garden and vibrant interior, this cosy home is a great choice for those looking for a fun, relaxing getaway in Wales. Located just half a mile from the historic market town of Tregaron, you're well situated to explore the quaint villages, cliffs, beaches, and more of Cardigan Bay.

Large windows invite a lovely natural light to brighten this home beautifully. We love the interior's vibrancy, but our favourite bit of this home is the impressive garden. The cute space has a Mediterranean feel, with a bistro table and salmon-pink walls. When you've returned home after a day of exploring the Cambrian Mountains and the coves of Cardigan Bay, you'll love hopping straight into the bubbling hot tub to soothe those muscles after a day on your feet. It's an area that's famous for its sparkling blue seas and dolphin-watching – you may even spot a pod from the kitchen window. Perched on the banks of the Teifi estuary, this renovated former sea captain's villa in southwest Wales treats guests to some spectacular waterside views. Wild and wonderful, this honey-coloured homestead on the edge of St Dogmaels is as charming as it looks. Inside, you'll find rustic living spaces that exude warmth – it'll be hard to resist a Netflix movie night curled up in front of the roaring log burner – and we appreciate how interior bi-fold doors give you full control over the size of the living space. Home chefs can let loose in the kitchen, rustling up freshly-baked cakes and mouthwatering Sunday roasts to share around the eight-seater table. Upstairs, a soak in the lavish free-standing bathtub before bedtime is just the ticket after a long day.

Speaking of, we can't help but swoon over the verdant, lush landscape that awaits you outside. Listen to the babbling stream as you share a pitcher of Pimm's or gather around the fire pit on hazy summer evenings. It's not just grown-ups who will adore this home. In the small village of Llanfarian, set in its own enclosed grounds in this detached cottage with a private hot tub, wood-burning fire, and gardens with a patio and outdoor dining area. The popular seaside town of Aberystwyth is less than three miles away where you can enjoy two beaches, a promenade with the oldest pier in Wales, a medieval castle, and a cliff railway with incredible views and the biggest camera obscura in the world. Take full advantage of direct access to the Ystwyth bike trail from the cottage – which links Aberystwyth to Tregaron in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains. 

After a busy morning of exploring and sightseeing, we would love to enjoy Welsh cakes from the welcome basket alfresco in the garden. Then, after dinner, unwind in the hot tub with the bottle of prosecco, before cwtching up on the sofa in front of the wood-burning fire.

The village of Tresaith on the Ceredigion coastline is relatively humble, but you can find some truly spectacular homes here – this three-storey gem is among them.

It's definitely an address that has been constructed with the surrounding scenery in mind, with sea views to be admired from the balconies and out through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Even to the rear of the house that isn't so blessed with coastal vistas, there's a peaceful terrace surrounded by flower beds and it's more than possible to enjoy alfresco feasts in this space, thanks to the dining table, pizza oven and barbecue.

Should the weather ever be a little uninspiring, there's plenty to keep guests entertained inside. In the games room alone, you'll find tables for pool and table tennis, as well as a darts board and piano. Once you've exhausted these, the cinema room complete with leather seats and surround sound is the ideal place to watch a movie or some live sports. It's just as easy to escape to the Jacuzzi bathtub and treat yourself to an unrushed soak.

You'll eventually want to head to the seaside at some point and Tresaith Beach is less than ten minutes' away on foot. It's easy to arrange watersport activities here and – if you're lucky – spot dolphins. There's also a waterfall at the far end of the sand, as well.

With its rugged cliffs, miles of sandy beaches and hidden coves, North Pembrokeshire is a natural haven. And this cosy barn makes the perfect setting to discover the timeless beauty of the Welsh countryside.

Set on an old organic farm and surrounded by trees, the barn has been thoughtfully renovated to provide a sanctuary in the heart of nature. It’s the kind of space where you can embrace a more simple existence – one that is rich in warmth and comfort. 

From preparing breakfast in the kitchen to reading on the mezzanine, it’s easy to slow down and savour the elements that make this home special. 

Outside, you can wander through miles of beautiful countryside towards the beach or make your way into the village of Saint Dogmaels – only a twenty–minute walk. Here you’ll find a wonderful village shop, an award–winning farmers market (held weekly), ancient abbey grounds and a couple of great pubs. 

And when your bags are full of fresh, local produce you’ll love coming home for a cosy evening by the fire. 

A Wilder Place 

There were plenty of reasons why this penthouse apartment made it into our collection, but let's start with the most obvious. When guests step out onto the ornate white balcony, they're greeted with stunning views over the Dyfi Estuary and Cardigan Bay, stretching all the way down the Ceredigion Coastline. As is often the case with coastal locations, there's just so much sky and this uninterrupted panorama brings the added benefit of meaning the interior is flooded with natural light through the windows and skylights. This is emphasised pleasingly by the stark white walls and it makes for a wonderfully bright space to sprawl out on the tan leather sofa. As you can probably tell from looking out the window, Aberdyfi Beach sits just across the street and there are cafes and pubs along the seafront for when you fancy a refreshment. Slightly further afield, there are opportunities for birdwatching in RSPB Ynys-hir and Dyfi Osprey Project, both taking around half an hour to reach in the car.

With three bedrooms, it sleeps up to six guests in comfort. The nearest beach is just around the corner, and Aberystwyth's restaurants, cafes and shops are within a short walk. The house features a fully equipped kitchen with stunning sea views, smart TV with Netflix access, Wi-Fi, DVDs/CDs, games, books and maps. Outside there is a fully enclosed south-facing garden with uninterrupted coastal views and an additional large garden mostly laid to grass with natural wildlife area. We'd encourage you to follow a small section of the stunning 186-mile Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. However, if that doesn't sound exhilarating enough, book yourself a dolphin watching trip, a coasteering expedition, or a surf lesson.

Cwmni Dau

A lot of things have changed since this cottage was built in the nineteenth century, but we're willing to bet that the surrounding view of the Upper Towy Valley and Cambrian Mountains is just as mesmerising as it was all those years ago.

Inside, a couple of period features also remain, like the mighty stone fireplace that acts as a natural focal point in the living space. However, there have been enough contemporary additions to ensure that the address well and truly belongs in the twenty-first century. You only have to look at the modern kitchen, the bedrooms painted in a soothing white and the subway-tiled shower to see what we mean.

Out through the front door, there's a small patio with seating so you can admire the gorgeous scenery and watch the neighbouring sheep – which sometimes come to graze right up to the home's windows. Come nighttime, stargazing is made all the more beautiful by the fact that the property sits in a designated Dark Sky area, free of light pollution. 

This part of South Wales is an excellent location for walkers and cyclists, as the Brecon Beacons National Park can be reached in around twenty minutes' drive, going through the town of Llandovery in the process.

Green Hill

Situated inside an original Regency harborside house, this first-floor apartment is a fantastic base from which to explore Aberaeron and the surrounding area. The harbor view has to be the main highlight of this property – there's also underfloor heating in the open-plan living room which is a real treat on cold days. The home would be best suited to a couple or small group of friends as there's not a lot of space to spread out in. While the local area can be explored on foot, we'd recommend a car for ease – the nearby towns of New Quay, Aberyswyth, and Cardigan are a short drive away and make for a memorable day trip.
