There aren't many homes in our collection where you could feasibly arrive by kayak rather than by car, but this is one of them. Perched on the side of the Menai Strait, this four-storey gem dates back to the Victorian era and benefits from beautiful views of the sea, Bangor Pier and the Snowdonia mountain range. This can be enjoyed from the big bay windows or the comfort of the outdoor terrace. Better still, you can head down to the home's private shingle beach which also has a small cave to explore. Back inside the home, the interior is traditional, with portraits hanging on the walls and a large wooden dining table a regal centrepiece to gather the group around after the day's excursions. The town of Beaumaris with its castle, pier and beach take just six minutes to reach in the car, while you can get to Penrhyn Zip World in twenty minutes if you're looking for hi-octane thrills.

A beautifully converted farm building set on a working dairy farm, this home does away with all the vintage styling and knick-knacks you might expect – instead bringing crisp, modern decor and home-from-home comfort. Bright, nicely laid-out and perfect for a couple or a small family, it's a quiet, rural retreat just five miles from some of Anglesey's popular beaches.  

Lovers of the countryside will be in their element here, with a milking parlour just along the track and a small campsite on the doorstep, and you're welcome to watch the milking take place. As part of your welcome gift, you'll even receive some Rhyd y Delyn Welsh cheese – produced on-site by the owners, no less. 

Back at the cottage, you'll have a well-equipped eat-in kitchen and a small outdoor table and chairs so you can eat outside in fine weather. And the master bedroom has a small balcony, giving you a great view. Keen walkers and cyclists will find lots to explore and it's less than hour's drive to the footpaths of Mount Snowdon.

Built in 1816, this Grade II listed former school house offers a comfortable family getaway in the heart of  Beaumaris, with the town’s shops, coastline, moated castle and historic gaol all just a short stroll away. A cosy gas fireplace in the living room provides the perfect spot to unwind on cooler evenings and rainy days, while the sunroom and its access to the garden is a definite highlight here too. Balmy afternoons can be spent playing lawn games and enjoying alfresco barbecue meals when you’re not out exploring. But if you can bear to tear yourself away, you’ll find Penmon Priory and Dovecote nearby with a little toll road leading to Penmon Point, opposite Puffin Island and its charming lighthouse.


The Craft Maker 

This charming cottage is perfectly located for exploring the Isle of Anglesey. Though the interior is nothing out of the ordinary, the home is well-kept and has some great features, including a playroom with books, games, and even a wooden horse. Outside, guests can enjoy a private patio with stunning views of the area, as well as communal seating and a lovely courtyard at the front. There are two more cottages in the same building, so if you’re looking to accommodate a larger group, you can try and rent them together.

This cosy cottage is tucked down a quiet street within the historic walls of Conwy. Perfectly sized for two guests, there’s an open-plan living room with a wood-burning fire, a snug bedroom and a small courtyard (shared with the neighbours). Two dogs are welcome to join you here, plus there’s a sweet welcome pack with Prosecco provided for your arrival. Outside, you’ll find everything you could need on the doorstep. From here, it’s a short walk to the castle, beaches and amenities. It’s also a great base for guests looking to adventure further afield and explore Snowdonia National Park.

This charming stone cottage in North Wales accommodates two guests and one child, with spectacular views of the Snowdonia Mountains from a secluded position above the Eglwysbach valley. The Bodnant Estate offers ten luxury self-catering cottages, including Ty Newydd, sleeping eight guests, and Lletty, sleeping six guests. Or stay local and climb the surrounding Moelwynion Mountains to reach Stiniog –⁠ the views are worth the climb.

The surrounding village has a couple of cafes within a short stroll, where you can fuel your body each morning, while lakeside Llanberis is just 4 miles away – it's here that you'll find the start of the Snowdonia trail. Elsewhere the grand medieval town of Caernarfon sits on the coast, a fifteen-minute drive from your front door – its Unesco-recognised castle is well worth exploring.

After a long day of adventures, this cosy cottage is the perfect spot to return to. Dine outside at the south-facing picnic table in the summer months. Built a few years ago, this beautiful conversion may still bear some resemblance to a barn with its stone clad facade, but that’s where the similarities end. Inside you’ll find simple, clean lines and, apart from a few pops of colour, a fairly neutral colour palette. Stylish, and clearly modern, the home’s crowning glory is the wide expanse of green that can be admired from the front door. Stare out over the beautiful dips and peaks as you take your seat at the wrought-iron table outside and nurse your first cup of coffee of the day. 

Breakfast can also be enjoyed out here if you prefer, although the wood dining table in the living space is elegant, and with its position right next to a window, you don’t entirely lose sight of the scenic views on offer. 

With a real focus on reconnecting you with nature, most of the ground floor rooms open up to let the fresh country air in – take a nap on the cushy bed with the doors ajar and wake up refreshed. 

Walk the grounds or watch the little ones run around on the lawn whilst you enjoy a glass of wine in a sun lounger. This is also a great spot for sunsets, but before that, you can drive out and explore the rural Welsh beauty of this area, you might want to stop off at the Rhug Estate Farm Shop and drive-thru, about six minutes away, to refuel before perhaps enjoy two splendid nearby reservoir walks: Brenig and Alwyn

In the idyllic mining own of Blaenau Ffestiniog, this home was once an old chapel dating back to 1861. The building has been lovingly renovated, featuring an open-plan kitchen and snug area ideal for family living. There’s a pool table here too, which is boung to keep both the kids and grown-ups entertained for a few hours. When it comes to things to see and do, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to activities. We recommend heading into town to rent bikes and exploring some of the many biking routes on offer, which will have you riding past old quarries, lakes and rivers.

Snuggled at the southern point of Snowdonia National Park in Sarnau, this quaint abode is made for rural exploration. If you don't fancy the challenging terrains of Snowdon, there are various walking and cycling trails close by to the cottage.

Once you've explored the diverse scenery around your tranquil haven, visit the welcoming pubs and restaurants around Bala. For a real Welsh treat, a Michelin star restaurant resides up the road in Llandrillo.

With five bedrooms, a long sycamore dining table and luscious green lawns, there’s no excuse for not inviting the whole family for a trip to this Welsh farmhouse.
