This apartment in the centre of Athens feels like a rare gem. It’s not often we find a one-bedroom apartment, this central, with a big terrace and its own Jacuzzi. The apartment itself is a vibrant medley of modern artworks and slate-grey furnishings. In monochrome style, the kitchen has everything you need for self-catering. It’s the outside space that really takes the biscuit here – the terrace is shaded by the heat by pristine white awnings and there’s plenty of room on the rattan armchairs for drinks outside. There are plenty of attractions within walking distance including Kolonaki Square, 170 metres from here, while the Museum of Cycladic Art is 400 metres away. Of course no trip to Athens would be complete without a visit to the Acropolis and the Parthenon (2 kilometres from this home). Inside, the bedroom is separated from the kitchen by glazing. Though the kitchen is fully equipped with a hob and oven, there isn't much food preparation space. While the home can sleep up to four people, the maximum occupancy here is two guests.

From this apartment, the city is walkable, but if you want to give your feet a break you need only walk seven minutes to the Sygrou Fix metro station – from there, the city is yours. 

After spending a day touring around the fascinating archaeological sites and the museums, returning to this apartment feels like a salve. It’s crisp, clean and calm. Despite its central location, it’s not directly above a hectic street so the balcony is a little haven. Sip cold beers while soaking up the last of the day’s sunshine before you head out for dinner.

Wow, wow, wow was all we could say when we saw the incredible views of the Acropolis from both this home's living space and terrace. They are fantastic any time of day, but we particularly love the vistas at sunset and then as dark approaches when Greece's most famous monument is all lit up. It’s a divine spot for a glass of wine.

If the weather turns chilly, head inside and gather around the fire or whip up a Greek meze in the modern kitchen. We could tell when we visited that this home has undergone a thoughtful renovation by your hosts.

Located in Plaka, there are plenty of tavernas, bars and shops nearby to enjoy. Or visit the Acropolis Museum, around a fifteen-minute walk away.
