Feeling blue? This sea-facing villa has unbeatable balcony views over the Gulf of Heraklion for alfresco dining. The outdoor living space sells itself by boasting a waterfall-featured infinity pool and a jacuzzi. Hidden gems await indoors too, including a home gym, a wine cellar, plus a room to accommodate a nanny or housekeeper. Down a 180-metre-long path, you'll find a private beach tucked away from the world, but guests with reduced mobility will discover the sands of Panagia a short drive from here.

Sunlight & Sapphire

This is a great choice for a restful stay on Crete. You’ll find this villa in the hilltop area of Rodia, a former Venetian settlement known for its excellent tavernas – you don’t have to walk far for a good meal here. This home looks out over the Gulf of Crete so the views are top-notch, and the outside space is peaceful and pretty. We love the different seating areas around the pool – you can easily slip away for a quiet moment here. There are only three bathrooms, so you might have to wait a little while for your shower each morning – at least you’ll have those views to take your mind off it though. 

Ionian Ouzo

Sleek but practical, this villa packs a real punch. It’s on a hilltop to the west of Heraklion and boasts marvellous sea views. The outside space is dreamy, with a heated salt-water infinity pool with a built-in Jacuzzi and against-current swim features, in addition to a barbecue area. The inside of the villa is no less impressive – it’s spread over four floors but has a lift, a wheelchair-accessible bathroom and ramps. There’s even a gym if you don’t want to skip your workout while you’re away. 

Goddess Of Life

Heading west from Crete’s capital, travelling along its rugged coast by the warm waters of the Gulf of Heraklion, you’ll reach the town of Lygaria. With a gorgeous beach, traditional tavernas, and a scuba diving school, you can keep entertained for days, but you might not even need to leave your villa at all.

Only 100 metres from the Lygaria Beach, you’re pretty much living on the golden sands. But your infinity pool offers another option to swimming in the sea. This fantastic raised terrace is surrounded by your alfresco dining spots, sun loungers, and a balcony up top to crown this regal outdoor space. The layout is reminiscent of an antique amphitheatre, where you can view your luxurious courtyard, as well as the main act – the azure waters.

Inside the home, built from traditional stone and sheltered by a terracotta roof, find vast spaces with rich wooden ceilings and stone archways. Wooden window frames create picture-perfect sea views, while blue and white furniture reminds you of the Greek flag as well as the nautical setting. Head up to the glass-fronted balcony, crack open the wine from your welcome hamper, and gaze out to your kingdom. 

Ampitheatrical

Within walking distance of two Cretan beaches, this home promises to be the perfect seaside retreat for small groups. The natural interior design offers a stylish space for the in-villa services available, including private chefs and massages. But we love the pool terrace for daytime lazing and sunset-watching over the sea. With welcome treats, plus bathrobes and slippers, you'll settle right in. Though when it's time for an adventure, the attractions of Heraklion are only half an hour away by car.

Apollo's Light

Perched on a hillside above the north Cretan coastline, this villa benefits from both an unobstructed view of the Aegean Sea and an overwhelming sense of peace and tranquillity.

A lot of this is down to the sixteen-acre site on which the home sits. Not only does this space have more than three hundred olive trees and fifty almond trees, but there's also a swimming pool bordered by loungers on which to bask in the Mediterranean sunshine. Add to that a covered dining area and an impressively sized stone barbecue, and you've got an address that makes it easier than ever to spend as much time outdoors as possible.

That being said, the contemporary interior is just as pleasant, too. The large windows invite plenty of natural light into the space and this bountiful asset is accentuated in the open-concept ground level by the stark white walls and glossy kitchen surfaces. Throughout the rest of the house, the design is relatively simple but it's all been executed especially well.

As you can probably ascertain from the coastal panorama, the local area is well served by seaside spots, with Panagia Beach forty minutes away on foot. The centre of Heraklion is also only a twenty-five-minute car journey and rewards those who head over with ample restaurants, shops and historic attractions.

Sun Worshipping

Have you ever seen an infinity pool with a view like that? Mesmerising and spectacular, it looks even more breathtaking in person. Sit in the crisp water for hours, kissed by the gentle rays of the sun, and you'll never get bored of the striking sight.

As magical as the infinity pool views are, there's much more to this lavish abode. Share cocktails on the terrace whilst looking out across the blue expanse of the Aegean Sea, or tuck into some souvlaki on the deluxe dining table.

Infinite Droplets

This charming villa by the sea is the perfect destination for your next holiday. With plenty of space for all the family, and then a few more, it's a wonderfully peaceful place where you can spend some quality time together.

And if you want to explore further afield, head inland to discover hilltop monasteries and tiny villages which have hardly changed in centuries. 

Bold Blue Sea

Built into a cliffside just outside of Rodia, this luxurious villa boasts an elevated position overlooking the Cretan countryside and sparkling blue sea. There's plenty of outdoor space here, with mature gardens and a beautiful pool deck providing comfy spots to relax. Start the day with a cup of coffee in the stylish swinging egg chair, before a refreshing dip in the water. If you're craving a little adventure, you're in the right place, as you're surrounded by picturesque hiking trails that wind through rugged woodland. If the beach is more your vibe, Ammoudara is just a ten-minute drive away, where you can sunbathe on the golden sand and dip your toes in the azure ocean.

Two of the bedrooms are in a separate area with a sitting room and kitchenette, so you won’t all be crowding each other in the main villa. The outside space here is the main event, with sea views, a private heated pool, a hot tub, and a barbecue area. There’s also a sauna and fitness area inside, along with ping pong and pool – there’s no chance of boredom here. Best of all, it’s just above the village of Kokkini Hani, with the beach a mere 1500 metres away.
